What was the outcome seven? Is it prominent? This so sucks for you and your family.

Aethelfleda · 13/09/2013 13:30

hommmmm.... (that's me channelling queenie again). I WIlL have a house that's marginally less chaotic before I get back to work and it all goes to hell in a handbasket

Hope you're feeling a bit less stressed today northern and mopsy. I'm not mentioning xiao as don't want to jinx the cunning leg-it-home plan!

Now how much can I get done before DS wakes up or the school run needs doing? ....

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 13/09/2013 13:39

Only page 18, story very similar to the last one, DH bought it on the way to work so I haven't read it yet.

Hope it's going well aethel, mine is looking pretty awful ATM.

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 13/09/2013 13:43

Perhaps queen can give us some cleaning motivation, or just tell us off for not doing it. I wish cleaning calmed me but it just doesn't. I'm jealous that in times of stress she turns to cleaning, whereas I turn to wine, cake and chocolate, which probably explains why she's skinny and I'm not :o

mopsytop · 13/09/2013 14:03

Ha seven you got it in one! I'm the exact same as you!

Aethelfleda · 13/09/2013 14:22

Ok seven well at least page 18 is not huge-double-page-leader territory. Well, I have a tidy(ish) swept kitchen, hall and front room, DS's room and have hoovered the landing and DS's room. Don't look in the lounge, it's covered in toys!!...need to decide between denting the clean-washing mountain and setting up my new printer you know I'm going to choose the printer

More tea!!

Aethelfleda · 14/09/2013 11:17

Hellooooo?

mopsytop · 14/09/2013 11:27

Hi all. xiao how are things)

God aethel I'd looove a Danish right now...

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 14/09/2013 14:18

No news here.

NorthernChinchilla · 14/09/2013 14:49

All quiet on the Western front here up North. DS trod on a bee and got stung on his foot yesterday; we've fed the ducks (they nearly took his hand off, kind of horror movie style) and will be off to the park later.

Hope you're doing OK Xiao, oramorph is no fun...

And a hug for mopsy

QueenofClean · 14/09/2013 17:59

Nothing really to report except we had a date night last night both girls slept out. Darcie at my parents. Sky at the IL's. We went to see Rush and was brilliant film followed by Nandos for dinner.

I have over the last couple of days been going thru all the baby stuff & clothes. So anyone with new squidge DD's I have clothes from 0-3 upto 12-18 mths for sale cheaply. Will upload to FB for pics Wink I also have my moss green Moby wrap for sale, nursing pillow, fetal HB checker & gel, Minnie Mouse cot bed duvet set. Just to begin with - that is only touching the top of everything!

DH on a stag so early night for me and my girls tonight.

mopsytop · 14/09/2013 19:10

Mr.Mopsy made a bakewell tart but instead of the jam layer he used a layer of pistachio paste (that I used last week to make pistachio macarons). OMG it is amazing! Can't wait for dessert (just had a sneaky taste this afternoon)

Xiaoxiong · 14/09/2013 21:32

Hello all, slept all day pretty much and just back to land of the living. Will post more but everyone who can must turn on radio 3 right now - the world's most sublimely beautiful quintet is about to start, from wagner's Meistersinger von neurenberg. It makes me weep every time. DH is on house duty tonight and we have a pact that we will both listen to it together even though we are apart.

Xiaoxiong · 14/09/2013 22:23

Ok - whinge mememe post alert!

summary of last 3 days - when we left off on Thurs I had just been to GP...
Me: I have had a headache for 3 days, pain in my calves, light headed, feel sick. Def not a migraine. Low blood pressure? Low potassium?
GP: all normal in pregnancy, go home and grit your teeth for 2 more weeks.

GP: just ran it past maternity unit, they are v concerned, go straight there
Maternity unit: headaches bad, keep in overnight and see if oramorph helps.

Then followed night in antenatal, slept like a sedated log with the oramorph, headaches were back in morning, blood pressure sub-90, had a CT scan with baby bump wrapped up in lead blankets. Scan clear, headaches continued. Some bright spark registrar thinks it may be the codeine I'm on for SPD causing headaches so no more codeine. Senior house officer thinks it's the size of the baby pressing on veins and nerves and large blood volume. my own consultant thinks just normal pg aches and pains Hmm They wanted to keep me in another night to give me paracetamol and observe me. I said I can do that at home and observe myself, in my own bed without lights going on all hours. So I discharge myself and now have an A4 sized bright angry red disclaimer pasted into my notes saying I refused treatment and left contrary to advice!

I did ask, first half joking and then dead serious, if I only have 2 weeks to go and baby already supposedly 8lbs+, if I could just have c-section now, but no chance.

Anyway I think I'm on bed rest now whether I like it or not. With only paracetamol the edge is off the headache for about 2 hours after i take it, then i have to wait to take it again. But without codeine the SPD is genuinely unbearable when walking.

Oh well - I wonder if I could teach myself to knit in 2 weeks to keep me occupied as they said to keep away from screens if at all possible to see if headache improves ConfusedSad

mopsytop · 14/09/2013 22:39

oh no xiao, you poor thing Sad

I know from my own pregnancy that paracetamol just doesn't cut it for bad headaches. You might remember I had migraines 4-6 days a week for months and it was a nightmare. I just had to wait them out. So massive massive sympathies from me. I hope you can get through the next cpl of weeks okay. Lots of DVDs! I have tons of romcom crap. If that's your thing I can post a load to you?

mopsytop · 14/09/2013 22:51

Oh doh just saw the screens comment at the end, sorry! Knitting is a good plan instead!

mopsytop · 14/09/2013 22:51

Or maybe listen to the whole ring cycle! that'll take up two days anyway...

mopsytop · 14/09/2013 22:53

PS xiao we had music from one of the preludes to the Meistersinger at our wedding. Fab.

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 15/09/2013 09:47

Sorry xiao no advice but I'm thinking of you, hope the next couple of weeks go quickly. When is your mum coming over?

CheungFun · 15/09/2013 10:18

Hi everyone,

We have viewing no. 10000000 at 11am today! Wish us luck! I'm getting a bit disheartened with it all, I hate cleaning!

What a nightmare Xiao I hope they get to the bottom of it and you feel better soon!

I've joined the gym so trying to go 3 times a week, but it's been 2 times a week for the last 2 weeks! Still it's better than nothing!

We took DS swimming yesterday, he seems much more confident in the water now :)

QueenofClean · 15/09/2013 11:12

Xiao thinking of you. Hopefully your bundle of joy will be here sooner rather than later.

Hope house viewings go smoothly.

Currently sat watching Darcie in her swimming lesson.

SevenOnwardsAndUpwards · 15/09/2013 13:54

Hope the viewing went well cheung. The right viewer will be along soon, would you consider going to auction?

We've been doing the village scarecrow trail this morning, its raising money for the Christmas lights. Now back home and its raining. Summer is officially over, I have beef stew in the slow cooker.

Is anyone else struggling with LO taking their cloths and nappy off? DD1 was awful for it so I bought dungarees to try as a nappy-removal deterrent. She can still take them off but it takes her a lot longer, by which time I've usually been able to stop her by distracting her with something else biscuits.

QueenofClean · 15/09/2013 19:47

Seven Sky takes her nappies/pull ups off at every opportunity!

Finished my nephews Christmas present today and brought some more of Sky's Grin Darcie's was finished last month.

What is everyone buying their LO's for their birthdays?

mopsytop · 15/09/2013 20:50

Queen it is September. Minim's bday is December! I can't believe you're so organised. I don't even know what I'm having for dinner tomorrow! I will prob buy minim's pressie like the day before. I hope! Wink

mopsytop · 15/09/2013 20:51

Last year I went to Cam on Minim's bday to hand my thesis in. I did give her her pressie before leaving but still. I missed most of her first bday. So I haven't the greatest track record so far Shock
