OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

3 kids in and j gave us our first tummy tub poonami today - fortunately it was on dhs watch so he had to do the cleaning and bleach op (as j had rotavirus vaccine this week). J was surprisingly chilled through the shower/soap/decontaminate the baby operation - he rather likes showers like your dd Reikimummy. Ds2 was a water baby and apart from the tummy tub he wasn't a big fan of water till he turned nearly 2! Now he's a fish though.

Got j's passport photos done today - he looks like a cross between winston Churchill and my dad!

Bb01 - not heard of calogen but if you post on the feeding board I bet there will be people on there with experience of it. Sorry things are feeling tough - they will get better, and soon. I have a reflux wedge cushion and positioner for j in his cot which I think helps when I manage to get him in there.

Shelley - there may be a beginners Pilate's 10 min solution DVD you could try.

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 14/09/2013 20:24

ReikiMummy - N isn't a great fan of baths, but she loved her first shower until DH stepped back into the shower whilst holding her, effectively water boarding her. DD1 loves showers too.

We don't really have a daytime routine, but the last 2 days N has had a very long morning nap and shorter naps later in the day.

When she starts to wake in the night I think I pick her up very quickly before she gets too loud. I'm not sure if she'd self settle or not, but I'm terrified she'll wake the rest of the house up if she starts to cry. When I feed her she does guzzle it up though.

Nexus6 · 15/09/2013 10:58

havent posted in a while.. dd isnt feeling well. I cant quite work out what it is and to those who dont know her she's 'just being a baby'. she met some of my family on my father's side last night (awful people, always arguing, my cousin was fine but aunt and grandmother were being idiots) my aunt woke dd even though I said leave her as she has been crying for most of the day! Angry

I think and my mum agrees she may have teething pains.. she wants to suck her fist and my finger, keeps grizzling and is being sicky (she wasnt a sicky baby before).Although its early for her to teeth I think maybe just the teeth moving around getting into position? sort of pains. Poor thing :(

anyone else noticed the signs?

Cheeseandbread · 15/09/2013 16:49

Nexus Juno has been sucking her hands and fingers more lately (sometimes in a frustrated manner)- also a bit sicky when she hasn't been previously. I was thinking maybe teething too. She has also clamped down on my nipple a couple of times- not nice!

Nexus6 · 15/09/2013 17:59

oh dear! yeah that clamping eeee wow, not nice.

calpol has eased some of the symptoms, she is still sleeping well at night (for now!) she did a shouty scream last night though :( was horrible.

Morning Ladies. Quick question here... DS isn't very well with a temperature. Think he's got new school bugs. I'm assuming that I just carry on as normal with L?! She's been around him constantly so I suppose separating them is pointless and also difficult given DH is at work today. Is it a "make sure you've washed your hands, please don't kiss your sister" situation?! I'd hoped she could avoid this sort of thing til after her jabs.

Hope everyone else has a cooler day than I'm going to have!

Beginningofthejourney · 16/09/2013 08:27

The hand washing and not kissing is the important thing with D & V mrsd hope you and L manage to avoid it!

Mrsd77 · 16/09/2013 09:20

Thanks Beginning. Not D&V thankfully, just got a low fever and the aches. Hoping it doesn't progress!

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 16/09/2013 10:52

Hand washing is important for avoiding colds & other viruses too. But generally I'd just carry on as normal.

Beginningofthejourney · 16/09/2013 11:47

I clearly wasn't awake this morning when I ready your post! Glad it's not D&V

Abzs · 16/09/2013 16:26

cheese I've had J causing me pain too. He's got quite lazy with his latching, nothing I do will induce him to open his mouth properly. I've milk blisters now and I suspect the two are related, but it's a bit chicken and egg...

Out wood burner broke yesterday. The seal where it was changed from top to rear flue must have cracked as smoke came out of the top. Cue me pressing test on the co monitor repeatedly and worrying about poisoning the baby. Now we have to get the installer back to fix it. I'm rubbish at complaining.

Abzs · 16/09/2013 16:41

Also, we have discovered anger. This not as good a development as grasping and following sounds.

Cheeseandbread · 16/09/2013 18:49

Abzs poor you with the broken wood burner... Just as its getting cold too! The milk blisters sound nasty too.

MrsD sorry your DS is poorly I hope it passes quickly.

Dinky your poonami in the tummy fun sounds eventful!! Hope your older boys are more settled now.

dinkystinky · 16/09/2013 22:27

Hope Ds feels better soon Mrsd and dd avoids it. J and his 2 big brothers are full of cold in the dinky household - surely only a matter of time till dh and I get it too.

Abzs - sorry to hear about your woodburner - hope it gets fixed soon and if not, set angry j on them! Ouch re the milk blisters too. My j is a lazy latcher so you have my sympathies.

Nexus - not too early to start with teething hell. Calgel, nelsons teething granules, calpol and teething necklaces all worth a try.

Took j to mummy and baby screening of Richard Curtis movie then onto cranial osteopath today - he was good as gold! Fingerrs crossed he behaves for yoga attempt no 2 tomorrrow!!

Mrsd77 · 17/09/2013 20:25

Well, DS is now on the mend and went back to school today. His appetite isn't great but he's much more himself. L (crosses fingers) seems ok, he's just given his lurgy to me!! Great news here though; I got my results back from my post pregnancy molar pregnancy screening and all is well! I can now firmly close the door on that truly awful chapter and just concentrate on my two gorgeous kids. The lady on the phone did remind me that I would need to be screened again after every subsequent pregnancy. I felt great saying "no thanks, I'm done!" So relieved!!!

dinkystinky · 17/09/2013 21:32

Glad Ds is better Mrsd and your mind has also been put to rest too so you can really enjoy your little ones.

Ds1 2 and j all have stinking colds here - j has turned into non sleeping velcro baby as a result. Ho hum.

SundaySunshine · 18/09/2013 03:34

MrsD so glad to hear you've been given the all clear; I don't know too much About molar pregnancies but they sound pretty horrific. Good news DS is on the mend, hope you will be too.

Dinky, bath tub poonami!! Oh my, it did raise a small smile from me just because we put up with the most revolting things with our babies just because we love them so. Your DH has won his 'surviving the poo in the bath' medal of valour! I know it's only a matter of time before L does the same Smile. Hope your all over your colds soon.

SundaySunshine · 18/09/2013 03:36

your you're, ah night time grammar is not my strong point!

StillNoFuckingEyeDeer · 18/09/2013 08:39

I hope your wood burner is fixed and you're all toasty, Abzs.

Glad DS is on the mend & you've had the all clear, Mrsd.

Sorry everyone's sick in the dinky house.

Can anyone advise me on cycling with a baby and a toddler? How small do they make helmets? What's the best way to transport them? Trailer? Front seat for the toddler & back seat for the baby when she's older? Will I be very unstable? Is it very hard work? I've lost all my leg muscle since I stopped running Sad. I need to get some exercise again!

Cheeseandbread · 18/09/2013 17:46

I'm keen to do some cycling in the future SNFED baby's can only be in a seat/trailer from 9 months I think... You may already know this as you have a little one already. I went to look at bikes/seats the other day- then realised that I'd have to wait a while... I think vinegar is an avid cyclist and may be able to offer advice.

I'm also after advice... Have any seasoned mummies used amber necklaces for teething? Are they any good?

11 weeks today

dinkystinky · 18/09/2013 18:54

Cheese I used a hazel wood necklace with ds2 - not sure it did anything for the teething but he looked pretty cute!

Snfed - no idea re the cycling. I know friends with / who went down the trailer route but baby was abit older.

Abzs · 18/09/2013 19:08

To add to the broken wood burner, today the kettle broke, it rained on my washing and I left the tap on in the bathroom sink so water came through the ceiling downstairs. Clearly the overflow on the sink doesn't. Now every towel we own is hanging on the line as well as several bath mats and the cat's bed.

In better news, J is emphatically not constipated. He seems to have switched from constant looking to one big one every two days. Hence the tap - rinsing out pooey things. Luckily he did it in his new size 3 nappy or it could have been worse like Monday's was.

Am eating haribo and trying to remember how to reset the clock on the DVD player after I turned the power off.

Abzs · 18/09/2013 19:10

Looking = pooing
Stupid tablet thinks it's cleverer than me.

It probably is, but that's so not the point

dinkystinky · 18/09/2013 20:32

Ugh Abzs - thats quite a day. Dont worry, Haribo will make it all better.
J managed to have an epic poonami today too - all over the mat, his nappy, the disposable mat AND the rug - though fortunately managed to catch it before it hit the sofa - I couldnt believe that much poo could come out of one small person!

Got J weighed today - following 75% percentile still and now 6.3 kilos. This was post poonami - god only knows what he'd have weighed before!

VinegarDrinker · 18/09/2013 23:17

Just off to bed but will try & post about biking with a baby & toddler tomorrow, SNFED. We use the bikes every day as we don't have a car, so I've tried most combinations! All a bit hectic here as builder starts on the bathroom f
