Snot sucker is one of those bulbous ones you deflate, stick in their nose and its sucks the snot out as it reinflates Cheek - no coming anywhere near my mouth at all! Had to correct you to stop you having nightmares about it!

I like J's style - making his mark on your neighbours gaff Abzs. Hope your dad will be OK and/ manage to open up - having J in his life will help him through this sad sad time

I'm fine, thanks. We tend to stoicism in my family, so I'm more worried about my dad than any thing else as he won't ask for support.

J is back in disposables for the week while the kitchen is done and has just leaked on the floor of my neighbour's kitchen at the annual bonfire party Blush

Sorry about your grandmother abzs. If it helps regarding J, One of my grandmothers died suddenly when I was six weeks old, my parents had taken me so she could meet me a few weeks before. I've been shown the photos from that and told stories about her so often I can actually picture her.

Snfed I'll try to pm you!

I'm so glad Oliver is doing well, a proper little fighter.

We were up twice to feed last night so maybe I've cursed it and brought on the beginnings of a sleep regression by mentioning it Confused

Hello all. Abzs - glad the wedding outing went well but so sorry to hear of your grandma passing. I hope you're doing OK and am glad she got to meet J - bet he was a real tonic for her.

Amazing developments in the world of Shiv - am so delighted for her and hope last night went well.

Am at my parents for the Diwali weekend - J has celebrated Diwali by waking and demanding a feed every 40 to 60 mins through the night - from 9! Even the mighty Aldi nappies couldnt cope with that much liquid coming through! Ho hum - this phase shall pass too.

Ds2 has a horrid cold with killer cough and J still has stinking cold (on plus side I have perfected the art of the snot sucker now) - dh and I are placing bets on which one of us will be the first to be felled by the cold too...

The wedding was good, thanks. He charmed away like usual, and threw up over my former colleague's rather drunk girlfriend . At least it wasn't the bride! Even went to sleep despite the band. Today has been a bit fraught, think he's tired but he's refusing naps again.

My grandmother died this morning. I'm so glad I took J to see her in September. Of course he won't remember, but I feel glad that she did get to meet him.

How was the wedding, Abzs?

Hi again! I've been absent for ages, I keep reading the thread to catch up but never seem to get around to posting. Although I'm anticipating sleep regression any time now so I'll probably be back to middle of the night updates Grin

I didn't join the Facebook group initially but think I'd be able to keep up better on there. Is it snfed who does the adding?

(Got to run again, f is awake...)

The bamboozles take forever to dry too, but I have 5 and wash every other day so manage just about. This weather is the worst of both worlds though... not warm enough to dry outside, not really cold enough to have the heating on enough to dry them either.

Report
Abzs · 01/11/2013 18:01

May be that's the solution then clenching, as we're on easifits too. The bamboo boosters have worked, but they are taking an absolute age to dry and I ran out - hence the makeshift face cloth use.

We're going to a friend's wedding tonight. Another for him to show off, and hopefully staying up late won't upset him too much.

Report
ClenchingPanda · 01/11/2013 16:30

Absz, we're using Easifits and struggled overnight. We admitted defeat and bought some Bamboozle Stretch plus a wrap a couple of weeks ago - I must day I have been really impressed. The nappy is sodden in the morning but the wrap contains it so no damp patches/babies!

Report
Thinkingofmyfabfour · 01/11/2013 13:05

abzs if you can get hold of any old style tots bots fluffles they are great for overnight. I boost with bamboo booster too and it can easily last 12 hours if M doesn't poop in it first
I would have thought your obs consultant should have arranged your f/u appt tbh. GP might not have known about referral till you were seen for your postnatal appt which would explain the delay. Sometimes consultants can be a bit strange about doing referral (to a different soecialty) and write to GP to get them to do it which slows things down. But obs - gyn is same(pretty much) specialty so would have thought it would be arranged via hospital. Anyway I hope it's all sorted out soon.

Oh dear. Silly mummy didn't change the nappy at half eleven last night, thinking he'd wake up again. No, he went for a big long sleep and woke up in a damp sleeping bag at 8. Clearly facecloths can't manage 11 hours worth of wees. Actually, I'm not sure anything could have, the nappy was sodden. Now he's had breakfast he's gone back to bed, where he's chunnering away to himself but clearly not awake for the day yet.

Report
Abzs · 31/10/2013 23:56

We're doing fine in the cot. He wakes twice for feeds still, but on a normal day is bathed, fed and asleep by 9 and doesn't wake up for the day until 8.30-9 in the morning. I do listen in on him before I go to bed, last night he was so quiet I had to creep up close to feel him breathing. We did have one night this week when he went in the bath at 7.30 as normal but refused to sleep until gone midnight. His basket is still in our room while I figure out where else to put it.

Vinegar how did you cope with your bathroom being done? Our new kitchen is being fitted next week. I may have to insist they get the washing machine plumbed in to its new home asap. I am a bundle of stress over it as almost everything we've done to the house so far has gone wrong somehow.
