bp Enid Blyton? Confused

PetiteRaleuse · 04/08/2013 19:58

LO is furiously ranting away in her cot because we have dared put the matess down to the lowest level. She was on the middle one and pulling herself up to kneeling position to look over the top. Even standing she wasn't yet able to tip over, and she was finding it such fun. I feel like such a spoilsport, and told her it was for her own good. She's not crying, just giving very angry frustrated shouts. :o She's got a temper in her just like her big sister and mother

Good to hear you're not overdoing it sophia :o

Enjoy the Wine

I never sleep on Sundays so am going to pop a pill shortly. I have just had a brainwave about the whole work thing. Need to think it through then put on FB. Might start a fred about it in Employment Issues under a namechange too. But not today.

BigPigLittlePig · 04/08/2013 20:17

Yes sophia. I believe it was a robber who climbed up the drainpipe of one of the Famous Five members houses, and was peering through the curtains. Possibly George who clocked said robber.

You can tell I'm not scarred by the experience!

ChasingDaisy · 04/08/2013 20:18

Evening all,

Have had a very busy day and been trying to keep up on facebook so apologies for not reading the thread properly. Will post now and then catch up.

Teething. O has his bottom two and as far as I can tell the top two are on their way. They feel swollen and he is spoon refusing and needing calpol to sleep.

So today I have cut out one of Oscar's bottles. He was having them at 7,10,1,4 and bedtime but only taking an ounce or two at the 4pm one. So today I just gave him water plus some grapes and rice cakes. Felt a but guilty but he is having 700+ mls a day so I think he needs to cut down slightly in favour of solids. I think. Fuck knows really, I'm just bumbling along Grin

Busy day today. My stepmum had her family round and it was all a bit overwhelming for O. He loved my stepmums brother though as he was great and interacted with Oscar on his terms rather than being all up in his face. Sensible man. I liked him and actually copped off with his son at my dad and stepmums wedding....

I felt a bit down though. Not sure if it was because I didn't know them very well or that I was the only person there not part of a couple, but I felt a bit lost. Didn't help that I kept over hearing my stepmum saying how stressful it is having me living here and how she can't wait to get her house back.

((((massive hugs))))) MM Wish I lived closer.

Evening all, lots to catch up on as always!

I gave E normal formula in his sippy cup at breakfast, which was fine. Tried to give it to him at lunch time after his solids, and he was very fussy with it, but I think it was because it's so much thinner than his AR milk it came out too quickly. So, swapped down a teat size, he had some more. But then I warmed up his usual milk and he took some of that whereas he'd refused more of the normal formula. So, i think he WILL drink it but currently would rather not. Don't know whether to persevere and swap him over or just not bother and give him normal formula when we are out/if I really need to and just stick with his AR milk for now. Plus, his nappies are still not back to normal and I realised this after sodding giving him the normal milk. If I did swap him over i'd be best waiting until he's back to normal right? Not sure whether to bother or not with it all anyway. Ho hum

Hey butch :) when is the appt? Hope it goes well

Aw Pikz they do all do it, bless him

Kirrin that's really shitty re: the phone :( Also, hugs for the sob session, you are not at all shit at this, it's just it all happens at once sometimes and you've got alot on at the minute by the sounds of it.

fruit congrats on the birth of your cousin's little lad :)

pass never tried e on spinach yet, or mackerel. Will have to give them a go at some point. Today he tried some weird 'pasta rice' stuff from boots and seemed to find it okay, which was good.

sounds like a bonkers day sophia

Very brave re: peppa pig world eliza!! Hope it's a good day out :D

very late Brew for the bad nights last night :( and pp you're doing nothing wrong lovely.

I didn't end up posting last night because I spent a couple of hours cooking mexican for the in-laws, then watched a film and couldn't be arsed after that Blush so thought i'd give you all a night off!

chasing it's brill you've made the progress and doubly brill that you've recognised so :D well done you!

clarella you are no such thing. Glad it seems the AD's are helping :)

bplp you've just made me look and it's 13 weeks and a few days till e's :|

Det O sounds positively exhausting :| Glad the soy test went well too

sophia poor e has had porridge and parsnip before. Thought it was apple Blush

lol pass e loves something called 3rd and bird, whatever that is! I don't think he's seen dora the explorer yet --but i'm sure he will at some point Blush

fruit e loves lamb :) he loves ek lamb dinner, plum minted lamb with peas and the ak one pr mentioned

I luff cabbage. I think the only veg i don't like is aubergine. I think. Unless celery is a veg Blush cos if so then that too, I hate celery

yay for another tooth mm1! Still no teeth here for e but this afternoon/evening he has been very whingy and drooly and he keeps chewing frantically and then wailing like a banshee. He also took 45 mins to drop off tonight which never, ever happens. I'm wondering if it's toof related.

ooh stunt hope there's a toof tomorrow then! :D

hope you get a tooth tomorrow pass. Well, P obviously!

I feel left out, I hope there's a tooth here too soon. Just one will do!

pr we lowered e down a few days ago. All of a sudden he likes to go to the bottom of his cot and get teddies and take them up to the top with him. He keeps getting on his knees and shaking the bars wildly as best he can. Little monkey. He used to just lie there and go sleep, roll a little if anything but not all of this!

I think that makes sense Chasing :) That's what I did with e's tea time bottle. He was taking an oz, maybe 2, sometimes even just 1/2 and was not interested so I stopped giving it. I did feel guilty because for lunch and tea I do solids first then milk, so chances are he only cut it out because I encouraged him to do so but he seems to be doing okay. I think O will be fine and he is offered food/milk plenty so if he's feeling like he really needs that oz back he'll make it up somehow with a bit more solids/milk unless he's draining current bottles of course

E ate breakfast today! So it was an EK brekkie pouch Blush but i'm all out of ideas. Seems he likes it. I would prefer him to warm to normal breakfasts though! I also gave him a snack today which seemed to go down well, he wasn't so miserable the closer it got to lunch time.

PetiteRaleuse · 04/08/2013 20:36

Well she doesn't have long to wait chasing think of it that way :) 700ml is fine at his age and solid intake. You're doing brilliantly, don't stress.

fruitpastilles · 04/08/2013 20:36

S still has no teefs. She's really been messing with her ear today though, is that a sign of teething or should I take her to the doctors? She's fine in herself though.

bp I did just Grin at the Enid Blyton scaryness.

BigPigLittlePig · 04/08/2013 20:41
Blush
BigPigLittlePig · 04/08/2013 20:42

DH and my DB watched the waking dead the other week. I swear to god I didn't breath for most of it. Was a nervous mess by the end!

fruitpastilles · 04/08/2013 20:44

pass my dp hasn't attempted bedtime yet, I don't think I'd let him to be honest not that he'd want to so hats off to you for letting dh try Smile

kyz I completely forgot to mention about using a smaller teat, sorry! S had the same problem, we'd been using size 4 because of the ar formula and have had to go to a 3.

fruitpastilles · 04/08/2013 20:45

I don't much like watching scary things, I used to love them up until a few years ago, I seemed to turn into a wuss overnight haha. Dp tries to make me watch horrors with him but then he says its not the same when all the lights in the house are on.

Kyz · 04/08/2013 20:48

No worries fruit I worked it out after nearly drowning him!

Chasing missed that bit re: your stepmum - it's not long now anyway :) hugs. I have no idea what 700ml is in oz but it sounds plenty :)

Passmethecrisps · 04/08/2013 20:58

Hallo.

Thank you for my not a grip VQ. I don't know what the fuck is wrong with me. I have stropped around all day feeling sorry for myself. I think it is the realisation that one week today I will be packing my bag for school. I feel overwhelmed and underprepared. Come October it will all be fine and it will be like we have done it forever.

I turned Dora off after a few minutes because it was doing my head in and p lost interest after it seemed impossible for her to climb into the telly.

I have been really self-absorbed today so I can barely think of what has been said. Sorry chaps.

ChasingDaisy · 04/08/2013 20:59

About 24oz kyz

MK was just on Top Gear Smile

Passmethecrisps · 04/08/2013 21:00

That's what p took today chasing with almost no solids. Sounds like it went really well

Kyz · 04/08/2013 21:02

pass It's understandable you feeling meh when such a big change is looming. Once you've been back a week i'm sure it'll feel like it's all alright again and you'll be ok :) Have yourself a self absorbed day, after all you never ever have them, so you deserve one!

That's plenty then chasing imo, that's the most I offer E and since O is sleeping pretty damn well atm I wouldn't have said he's not having enough. I get worried E isn't having enough as he wakes between 6 and 7 these days but surely if it were hunger he would drink his entire morning bottle, and he doesn't always Confused

MissMummy1 · 04/08/2013 21:05

I meant to say pass - I let M watch Dora on my tablet the other morning in a bid to get another half hour's sleep. Blush Blush Blush

MissMummy1 · 04/08/2013 21:08

I have just ordered this trike for M's Christmas. Seemed too good a deal to miss and it gets great reviews. Only problem is the only store in Scotland that had it in stock is 200 miles away, so my best friend is picking it up for me Smile

Any other ideas for birthday/Christmas presents for babies? Argos have 3 for 2 on all their toys so I also order her some duplo bricks and a set of bath toys. I think that will do her this year along with some books.

ValiumQueen · 04/08/2013 21:26

Pass I figured if was impending return to work. Big hug x you will both be ok x The next stage of your wonderful (mostly) parenting journey.

J is asleep in bed. No idea how long for.

Night night x

Kyz · 04/08/2013 21:32

Looks like a good trike mm1 :) E has a ballapalooza for xmas so far. Not sure what else to get him other than books and duplo either tbh!

Hope both you and j get some sleep vq night night

It can't have been nice to hear your stepmum say that chasing but not long until you are in your own place - and that sounds great!

pass It is understandable that you are apprehensive about the end of Mat Leave, bound to make you feel a bit out of sorts.

MM the iPad is a great tool for getting a little extra snooze time in this house. Haven't initiated N to it yet, but DD1 can often be found in my bed at 05.30 watching Peppa Pig. I did introduce her to Bagpuss yesterday - she loved it :)

ChasingDaisy · 04/08/2013 21:47

pennie we are still on size 2 teats here!

pass you are one of the loveliest people I know. Quite possibly the loveliest. You are more than entitled to have a meh day. Going back to work is a huuge thing and you seem to be taking it in your stride very well. Are you looking forward to going back at all?

Passmethecrisps · 04/08/2013 21:55

Thank you chasing! Most endeserved but thank you anyway.

I am really looking forward to going back. I have lived my job and I feel half a person without it. There is just so much else going on though. My best friend bd colleague has been promoted elsewhere and the fallout is awful. He was the backbone of everything we do. Also I am frantic about being given a senior class. I am not sure how I will find the time for all the work a senior class needs. There are lots of ins and outs which are playing on my mind. Nothing dramatic and worthy of a fb post but enough to be making me a bit teary. I will be fine though. If I focus on holidays in Nice in October I know everything will be fine by then

Kyz · 04/08/2013 21:57

pennie there must be for some bottles but e uses a mam size 3 and he has anti reflux milk, he can't manage the normal formula on a 3 though it seems. I've no idea if they do a 4

i'd die if e got hold of my ipad, i don't let him on it though i'm sure this will change when i want some peace and quiet in future! I just don't want him to wreck it and whenever he's been near one he just drools all over it and bashes it!
