Sophia you can imagine the look on Fs face when her porridge contained chicken & parsnip mush, instead of apple mush. Have been more vigilant with my labelling since then.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 04/08/2013 12:10

I like your style bp

Passmethecrisps · 04/08/2013 12:24

Meh. She doesn't know that is weird. P has refused her lunch on a spoon so has been given mush spread on a variety of items in the hope she will eat something. She mustn't be keen on the mush because she is being pretty reluctant with even bread sticks.

Earlier I gave her her toothbrush to play with. When I took it from her there was blood on it. I was with her the whole time and it was only in her mouth. Should I be worried?

ValiumQueen · 04/08/2013 12:35

No Pass. She probably has a tooth coming through, which would explain lack of enthusiasm about food. Just offer her a bottle every 3-4 hours and have a feel of her gums if you are brave enough Smile

PetiteRaleuse · 04/08/2013 12:51

They've all gone out. DD1 was so enthusiastic in wanting to help me with the laundry that she dragged all my clothes out of one of my drawers and pulled them across the unhoovered since Thursday dog hairy floor. It's too hot in here anyway so DH has taken them out in the air con car for a nice long drive. Tis the only way he feels up to looking after them both.

Anyway, back to my laundry and housework. Got to make the most of the peace and beautiful quiet. I can hear my clock tick tocking. I never hear that.

Passmethecrisps · 04/08/2013 12:54

Oh blimey.

In a desperate bid to get peace to empty then full the dishwasher I have introduced p to Dora the Explorer. She is enthralled. She actually looked like she was trying to get into the telly a minute ago.

What have I done?

Pikz · 04/08/2013 13:03

Bp L has had spinach and wetabix and rice pudding and wetabix due to my dp not being able to decifer my labelling system.

Det I am in the same boat. Am struggling with L as I can't even turn around as he's throwing himself out of doors, using everything to stand up and then letting go, shutting doors with me on the other side and banging his head on everything. Being away is lovely but v hard. He's just eaten a ton of sand ffs

Passmethecrisps · 04/08/2013 13:18

pikz I think there are similarities between your L, det's O and P. p has now discovered the stairs and wants to get up them. There isn't much which can be done about that really as the hall is an odd shape so no wall for a stair gate. Every single thing is for pulling herself up on. I keep having to move things higher and higher - I swear she gets taller every day.

You will be right VQ. That might also explain the unsettled night. She is almost 9 months - bound to be teeth soon, surely?

Ach, I am a bit meh today. Need a grip.

TheDetective · 04/08/2013 13:58

I am declaring experiment soya a relative success Grin.

Gave him some toast over 24 hours ago, and no irregular behavior has occurred yet. Fingers crossed.

Not only that, but we had to miss a dose of gaviscon yesterday, as I mistook the butter buds in his bag (for my baked potatoes!) for gaviscon sachets next time look with your eyes not shove your hand in and assume!.

And all we had was one medium sized vomit after he had been in the pool, an hour after his bottle and 30 mins after dinner.

Fingers desperately crossed he grows out of this shit pronto!

Operation drop a bottle is going well. Now he has one sometime in the early morning, then his next one isnt til 1.30-4ish, then bedtime bottle. :)

TheDetective · 04/08/2013 14:07

Pikz at home, it's easier, as you can just let them get on with it I guess. I hate an audience!

He's currently trying to climb on the couch to get to the bottle he has just drained. He's giggling, squealing and smiling at it like it's the best thing ever. No idea why. Strange children! Oh to read their minds!

Pass I was thinking the other day how we would have to find a new O safe zone. It was the dining room table - everything he wasn't allowed got put up there. But now he can bloody well reach it Hmm.

Feck and double feck. I've run out of safe space!

PetiteRaleuse · 04/08/2013 14:09

Have done heaps of housework but the place still looks like a pigsty. How's that then? Oh, I know, it will be all the clutter on the surfaces that doesn't belong to me...

TheDetective · 04/08/2013 14:11

I've just sorted out the piles of paperwork and receipts which were stashed in various places. I've put away the mammoth pile of clean washing, but yet the place still feels a pigsty too PR. :( In my case, it's the fecking dog hair. Always makes the place look unclean grrrrr.

Pikz · 04/08/2013 14:16

Pass yep I agree. They are just very active little ones.

Det are you replacing bottles with snacks? It seems the only way I can do it here...

TheDetective · 04/08/2013 14:21

Not really, as he is waking, having a bottle, then an hour later breakfast (which is his biggest meal of the day!) then he usually sleeps. Anything up to 3 hours.

So by then its invariably lunch time, and he really only has something small for lunch, he's had pieces of ham and a rice cake today (not sure how much was consumed of the rice cake, he wolfed the ham - its a favourite!). Then a bottle just now.

I think he will be okay til 5-6pm teatime now, as he will have another nap with in the next 30 minutes, and could be an hour, could be 2.

I think if he was awake more he would want more to eat.

He would take the full extra bottle if I offered it, I know that much! I think I need to be careful as he would eat all day if I let him!

TheDetective · 04/08/2013 14:25

When he drops the 3rd bottle and the morning nap, I was thinking that he would need extra snacks in the morning and afternoon though.

FFS. He's just opened the drawers in the living room.

Time to fork out £40 on drawer locks I guess (need special ones :( )

fruitpastilles · 04/08/2013 14:45

Qq is lamb ok at this age? We are having lamb for dinner so was going to give S some, but for some reason it come into my head that they can't have it?

PetiteRaleuse · 04/08/2013 14:55

They can have lamb. It's quite a strong flavour so might not like it immediately, and it can be tough to chew on. One of LO's favourite purees is lamb and sweet potato (AK)

PetiteRaleuse · 04/08/2013 14:56

In fact, allergies and intolerances aside they can have pretty much anything they won't choke on at this age, except runny egg and honey (though in Lux they don't seem to worry about them either).

fruitpastilles · 04/08/2013 14:57

Thanks pr I don't know why I thought they couldn't, glad I'm wrong, I don't have to do her a separate dinner now!

ValiumQueen · 04/08/2013 15:19

Pass, I can imagine P would love Dora Smile Can you put a gate on the door into your lounge? That way it would protect her from the stairs and also be handy for answering the door and preventing her posting your keys and wallet out. And you do not need a grip - your grip is just fine (((hug)))

PurplePidjin · 04/08/2013 15:28

Chasing 2 steps forward, 1 step back is still good progress

Clarella

Det how about a room he can't get into?

PR dump it on his side of the sofa/bed...

Looks like R has all four front teeth coming through, i can see the dimples and feel points top and bottom! He had milk at 6, a weetabix with 5tsp pureed blueberry at 7, more milk at 8 then a 40 minute nap. We walked to my parents' 9:30-10:30, he napped 10:15-11 then egg, 1/2 slice of toast and 1/2 adult yoghurt with raspberries (picked on the walk over, they were overhanging the allotment fence!) milk at 1:45, sleep 2-2:45. He's currently scaling Mount Daddy Hmm

Fingers crossed for tonight...

PurplePidjin · 04/08/2013 15:30

fruit we're also having lamb for dinner - dp popped it in the slow cooker after running this morning :o

fruitpastilles · 04/08/2013 15:40

Mm that will be lovely pp I love it slow cooked, it's so much more tender.

PurplePidjin · 04/08/2013 15:47

Except he couldn't get parsnips so bought cabbage instead Hmm

Sophiathesnowfairy · 04/08/2013 15:50

O loves a lamb dinner

Am attempting to pack the kitchen up so far we are living out of one double cupboard. It seems never ending, and we have a small kitchen.

And O is a bit whiney. Because he can't manage to do the stuff he wants to!
