Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Sophiathesnowfairy · 31/07/2013 22:34

I dream that my children will be like that pr

He has gone quiet. Dare I go in and check? No I think I will leave it for a while.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 31/07/2013 22:36

Unfortunately kyz I am a bit low on cot entertainment. We have snoop doggy dog, an Arran knit rabbit and a multicoloured taggy tiger thing and that is all.

ValiumQueen · 31/07/2013 22:37

Google character.com and select the special offers bit. Cannot link sorry. There are pjs from 99p and lovely little rucksacks for £1.99 and up. I got lots of pjs and a few rucksacks to put by for birthday gifts, and a hungry caterpillar pull along trolley that I want to keep for me! J has a Thomas bag for nursery.

PetiteRaleuse · 31/07/2013 22:39

kirrin if it was urgent they'd be calling you in quicker than Friday.

sophia I have a very simple hunger test: I give her a small piece of bread and if she starts nomming (rather than suckng on it) it I assume she is hungry. Not in the dead of night of course because cba, I just give an oz or two (I leave a three oz bottle in the fridge overnight now)

ValiumQueen · 31/07/2013 22:39

And I reckon Car Boot sales are THE place to buy toys. I luvs them.

I am pished so off to bed. Only had half a glass of cider!

Elizadoesdolittle · 31/07/2013 22:41

pr That really made me smile, thank you.

Glad all went well with the lovely gastro man. That sounds like a lot of pills but needs must! Hope they all do their job.

PetiteRaleuse · 31/07/2013 22:42

kyz I'm impressed you dettoled them tbh. I just assume most people are clean, and just rinse second hand stuff.

TheDetective · 31/07/2013 22:42

Kyz A lot of O's toys are second hand! eBay and Facebook sites have got me some bargains. :)

His bouncy chair, jumperoo, both play mats and the bumbo were all second (or more, who knows!) hand! I've spent maybe £150 on new toys. And £90 on second hand! And he has loads :)

And I haven't even washed most of them. Because most of the places they came from I saw when I collected them!

TheDetective · 31/07/2013 22:43

Kirrin my experience with blood tests are that half they time they need repeating because someone filled the form or bottle in wrong, the sample clotted, or it got lost...

So don't worry just yet. It might be something and nothing!

PetiteRaleuse · 31/07/2013 22:47

Oh, when I said ppis I meant my usual stomach pills: proton pump inhibitors to give them their full name. My GP has been trying to get me to wean myself off them but the consultant says stick with them. For life, if need be. I almost quoted a daily mail article at him about ppis increasing the risk of osteoporosis, but remembered that by the time I get there something better will have come along and of course I never EVER believe what is written in that rag

TheDetective · 31/07/2013 22:48

I just read that you should consult a doctor before giving Ibuprofen when you give Ranitidine.

Erm. Fuck? I did not know this. Did anyone else??

Kyz · 31/07/2013 22:54

Thankyou vq :) night night

Hope he settles sophia, could it be a growth spurt? or at this age do they just up food in the day time when spurting? :S

pr guess you should be sticking with them then if the consultant reckons so! I wanted to say something else but your bigger post is on page 14 and i'm on page 15 and I can't bloody remember what I wanted to say!

Glad it's not so bad buying from the car boot, got some real bargains last week :)

Elizadoesdolittle · 31/07/2013 22:56

kirrin I know it will seem like a long week but Friday will come round quickly. Will be thinking of you.

Night vq Hope you dont have a sore head in the morning although if you really are pissed on half a glass of cider I doubt you'll be hungover

kyz I've bought DD1 toys from charity shops. And books. Go for it.

HAven't bought E any toys. Or hardly any clothes actually. It's all been hand me downs or gifts from other people. Going to struggle when it comes to her b'day and xmas as I went a bit over the top with pfb parenting for DD1 and bought loads so E inadvertantly has loads. Was hoping we would have moved house by then so I could buy lots of garden toys but no such luck.

BigPigLittlePig · 31/07/2013 22:58

Det I hadn't read that - we give both together regularly in this house! Adults and babies lol.

Off to bed, bloomin' knackered x Night quichey x

PetiteRaleuse · 31/07/2013 23:13

det I am guessing because Ibuprofen is an NSAID and Ranitidine is something to do with protecting the stomach? So maybe one would cancel the other? Bt surely for those of us you wh can tolerate NSAIDS that would be the point?

Kirrin · 31/07/2013 23:20

Thanks guys. I'm sure it will be nothing but I can't help but worry.

Hope he's settled sophia

Hope you're not hungover tomorrow VQ :)

Good night all xx

Brockle · 01/08/2013 04:59

det I am a bit wary about giving brufen anyway as a friend of yousefs suffered stomach bleeds with it. he was only eight months and has cmpi and reflux. strangely the doctor said that having the ranitidine prevented the stomach bleed from being worse.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 01/08/2013 07:09

He did settle in the end. I think it might be the ninth month development thing. He was rolling around in his cot, up on hs Kneesbehaving like a mad thing. I have a sneaky suspicion he can't get comfy as he is too big in his cot. We have the kiddycare space saver, which has been lovely but I just think he is too big. At the weekend DH is taking the beds in the spare room to bits for the moe then we will have space to put his travel cot up and he can have that for the last couple of weeks before we move.

So all is well, but mummy is tired, like everyone else I am not good with not much sleep. Never mind, early night, tea and toast tonight.

vq do you need a hangover cure today after your cider extravaganza?

PetiteRaleuse · 01/08/2013 07:21

Bad night here. Up at 10, 2 and then up for the day at 6. Luckily I didn't pop a pill so was awake anyway. Am thinking teeth, she is particularly drooly this morning.

Passmethecrisps · 01/08/2013 07:30

Good meowning,

VQ, if we ever go to the pub I am buying - you are a fabulously cheap date Grin

sophia that was what p was like for about 5 nights including in the middle of the night. It was like her brain just wouldn't shut off. I would go through and she would be sitting up - sometimes still sort of asleep. She did it once last night but is now settling more easily. I put it down to some sort of spurt.

The blood test must be worrying kirrin. Fingers crossed all is well tomorrow.

We have a few toys here - jumperoo and some Lamaze things. I was half serious the other day about crinkly paper and a box for Christmas. There will be many years of toy buying - this year I think she is likely to be happy enough looking at the twinkly lights.

It did bring back a memory of p being very small though. Every morning DH would get up before us and would line the stairs with little battery tea lights. He did this for weeks after Christmas. Don't remember when he stopped doing it. I quite liked walking down the stairs to twinkly lights

YellowWellies · 01/08/2013 07:42

He's back sleeping thru after the sodding garlic bread (last two nights) but this is the first morning I've found him on his hands and knees practising crawling in his cot! Hope good nights were had by all xx

YellowWellies · 01/08/2013 07:49

Awwww Pass that's lovely - I'm a sucker for twinkly lights I want to wrap some around the bannisters on our stairs. As for low level Christmasses and car boot toys - there's a lot to be said for it from an environmental level. The planet our babies will inherit is fecked enough without wasting our dwindling oil reserves on new plastic toys when there are plenty already in existence which can be reused.

Passmethecrisps · 01/08/2013 08:05

We have red love heart lights wrapped round our bannister. They were decor at our wedding.

Good news on the good night YW. Fucking garlic bread!

Lily311 · 01/08/2013 08:09

We are in regression. She was up for 30 min at 11 again, as someone said just couldn't shut her brain off. Se was wide awake. Her language development is amazing this week so I'm guessing that's behind it.

I am surprised det how much you spent on toys. I only bought her a jumperoo and her comfort toy, I will not buy toys ever for her. She can get books and that's it. She got many second hand ones from her cousins and I need to beg my sister to stop giving us more. She gets bored with them and frankly she is happier with only a few. She played with her toothbrush yesterday for 25 min after bath. I Am not against toys but I find the more she has the harder for her to enjoy them.

PurplePidjin · 01/08/2013 08:11

2 wakes, 1:30 and 3:30. 10 minute cuddles both times. That's three nights, and not sleeping through yet, or even any better really Sad
