I for one have a very surprising baby.

So cute, dd1s teddy won best loved teddy at a teddy bears picnic today - it's the comforter that she's had since birth and carries everywhere. So funny looking back at photos, its in every single one! At pre- school she used to tuck him in the neck of her tshirt or dress etc so that 'he could watch'.
Dd2s teddy was entered under the name of asbo (I nicknamed it that as it has a hoody to differentiate between the millions of toys and it stuck) - hysterical as it was a policeman doing the judging!

SpottyTeacakes · 22/08/2013 05:38

Nightmare with the bed wetting I'm going to phone HV today. She had a wee before bed, we woke her at 10 to try but she couldn't go, she woke after 11 moaning so dp put her on the toilet and nothing. Ten minutes later she had wet the bed. It's just so unlike her.

WLmum · 22/08/2013 06:53

Oh dear spotty. Hope hv has something useful to say.

IsThatTrue · 22/08/2013 07:56

Oh spotty poor you and poor dd!

Well last night DS was up at 11 and 4. I'm bored of this sleep regression!

According to DS babygros are not suitable crawling attire, your legs end up in the body and you get stuck Grin

PurplePidjin · 22/08/2013 08:10

Hope you get some answers, Spotty, poor mite Sad

R has a third tooth :o

WillYouDoTheFandango · 22/08/2013 10:39

Hope your HV is helpful Spotty.

This baby has gone from bring a dream napper to being a fucking nightmare to get to sleep in the space of one week. He's exhausted and I've been trying to out him down for 1.5 hours. I've tried rocking, Ewan, feeding, leaving him to it, letting him cry for a few minutes and he's still a-fucking-wake. I have to wash up, have nothing in for dinner and we're off to baby group in 20 minutes.

I feel like I may crack today! Sorry for sweary post!

halestone · 22/08/2013 11:07

Spotty i hope the HV has something useful for you and DD to try and that your both ok.

Willyou i'm joining your gang of nightmare baby. She never cries and for the last 3 days thats all shes doneConfused

Yay to the 3rd tooth Pidj.

itsMYNutella · 22/08/2013 11:32

WL that sounds like a very fun picnic. Good for your DD's teddy Grin

Willyou welcome to my world. I DS has been like that fit almost three months. I remember him napping ok on holiday at the beginning of June but since then - not a chance! I also can't see the point in fighting with him for any longer than 30 minutes for a 30 minute nap. But it is bloody frustrating and I feel your pain!

hales sorry DD is crying, are more teeth on the way?

DS is normally a rubbish napper; but the one bonus of his cold is he is more tired Grin just putting him down for power nap no2!!

SpottyTeacakes · 22/08/2013 13:06

So I spoke to the HV. She said it sounds medical rather than behavioural (which I knew), she can't think why it could be though so said ride it out and if it keeps happening get her wee tested if that's all clear she suggested going back to nappies but that's really not something we (or dd) would be happy doing

Barbeasty · 22/08/2013 13:44

DD still hates the hoover, hairdryer, hand dryers, food mixers....and any noise she can't identify. A doesn't care!

DH said A cried yesterday when he was dropped off at nursery, but was happy when a staff member from his room picked him up. He was ok being left with NCT friends too, when I had to take DD to the toilet a million times.

He's crawling and pulling himself up. He can't climb though because his legs are too short!

Yesterday evening he was very nippy. He spent more time on the floor for biting than feeding. I was getting tense and nervous every time he tried to feed. But it wasn't on purpose.

Spotty I think if the wee tested clear I'd probably be pushing for a referral. If DD askes for nappies would you let her until it's sorted? The day after an accident DD will often say she wants to wear pull ups.

SpottyTeacakes · 22/08/2013 13:48

DD hates hand dryers!

Hmm I suppose if she asked then I would but she never has, she was the one who started refusing to wear them at night once she was out of them in the day. I think it would upset her as ds wears a nappy. I guess I will wait and see what happens over the weekend and if it's still happening get a sample pot and go from there?

utopian99 · 22/08/2013 14:31

Sorry to hear about dd spotty. Can't suggest anything but hope you find a resolution soon.

Also Brew and Cake to everyone sufferring with sleep napping and crying regressions. Just repeat - this too shall pass...

Yay to tooth pidj! We had two at 6 months and nowt since.

Would anyone see a market for a Teflon-like-fabric for baby clothes/items? What would you expect to pay for a baby gro that effectively and completely resisted food/spew/poo I.e. just wipe off and carry on? Or is it not worth paying extra due to us all being so used to all the washing...?

SpottyTeacakes · 22/08/2013 15:00

This stupid insurance claim is still going on and I've just been told 50/50 is most likely. I'm so angry and upset (stupidly crying) what a fucking bastard I just want to go round to his house and try to make him understand this was so much more than £125 excess to us. I hate him and his poncey floppy hair. I just don't get how any person can just lie like that I could never do it to someone

ISpyPlumPie · 22/08/2013 18:51

Spotty , sounds like a really tough day all round. Hope that things sort themselves out for DD, but agree pee sample sounds like a good initial plan. Don't think it's stupid to cry at all - floppy haired fool Angry

Willyou - we are having some napping issues too. N has unilaterally decided that morning naps are for wimps. So instead of the previously great system of him having a sleep after breakfast while I clear up, get ready and spend a bit of one-to-one time with DS1, I now have to try and get everything done around an increasingly overtired, shouting baby who will not be put down for more than a few seconds. I reckon my way was better but he's not buying it right now.....

It was our last sensory baby class today, as I'll be going back to work half way through the next term. Bit sad as it's been really good fun, but it was getting increasingly hard to prevent him from crawling over to the tiny ones and terrifying them/their mums Grin.

SpottyTeacakes · 22/08/2013 18:53

I think we've found the cause of the bed wetting....she's really sore round there (which isn't unusual) but I just looked and there's a slight green discharge :-/ poor dd I feel bad for not noticing!

PurplePidjin · 22/08/2013 19:06

www.fill-your-pants.com/toddler-nappies/bright-bots-training-pants.html

How would she feel about special pants for nighttimes, Spotty?

Utopian, i think there's something a little too strange about babies in pvc bodysuits despite the practicality Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 22/08/2013 19:25

Pidj I think it's the infection so I'm going to see what the doctor says but otherwise that's a really good idea Smile

PurplePidjin · 22/08/2013 19:37

Ah, sorry, x post!

WLmum · 22/08/2013 20:15

Poor dd spotty. If its any consolation dd2 sometimeshas a bit of discharge but tests have always been negative. Just realised I forgot to ask her to try for a wee before bed. Might try 'lifting' her in a min.
Sorry about insurance nightmare.

I've just had 2 emails from work - I'm officially back but only working 1 day this week and next and taking holiday for the other days. Holiday people - as in don't care about work emails. Bugger off.

T has been amazing last 3 nights and slept 8.30 til 6.30 ish. Just about to cock it all up by taking her camping again. When will I learn?!

lazzaroo · 22/08/2013 20:56

Poor DD spotty, but don't feel bad. You've known all along there must be a reason, better than just getting mad with her for doing it.

Baby lazza decided today was the day to properly start crawling Smile. she's been shuffling about frva while but got it sussed now....I'm not ready!

She also went to sleep tonight on her own, in the cot, no tears & no patting Smile

utopian99 · 22/08/2013 20:57

Poor dd spotty and poor you. Stupid idiot insurers.

pidj I think I've done a really poor job of explaining as I posted in chat and someone said the same thing. The material feels exactly like a normal cotton vest material, i just used teflon as a concept for its repellant properties.. I do agree though, teflon coated babies are a bit doctor who... Confused

SpottyTeacakes · 22/08/2013 21:05

Great news lazza Smile

Utopian not sure. I've never had sicky babies so I'm not really target market

halestone · 22/08/2013 21:34

Spotty hopefully now you've found the cause it will stop. Sorry about the insurance claim i'd be angry toAngry

WL ignore the emails enjoy your holiday.

Lazza yay to baby LazzaGrin

Utopian i just used a bib when she was at her most vomitty

Nutella i suspect H maybe teething and going through a growth spurt at the same time.

WLmum · 22/08/2013 23:11

utopian I've had sicky babies, T being the worst! I'm afraid I wouldn't pay more as I don't find her stuff gets stained, and even if did I wouldn't care! I just tend to mop her/me/stuff up. I used to change her when she was little if she got really soaked but then her sleeping bag, sheet etc needed changi g too if at night. In the day she wore t shirts so I could easily whip them off.
Would it be breathable like normal cotton?
I wouldn't pay more, but I bet lots of people would!

WLmum · 22/08/2013 23:13

Nice work baby lazza

Don't worry hales I intend too. My boss seems to be mistaking me for someone who gives a shit!
