I for one have a very surprising baby.

Me neither IsThat, I also made the mistake of posting on Facebook that I was up all night. Now all the handy rusk in bottle/hungry baby formula hints are coming out again. Can't wait til someone else tells me to put whiskey on his gums. Yawn!

SpottyTeacakes · 19/08/2013 14:54

Argh WillYou! I always want to say 'no I'm not going to risk my dc's health/stop doing what's best for him just because I want some sleep' but I never have the guts!

itsMYNutella · 19/08/2013 15:13

Is whiskey not good for babies then?
What about gin??? Although if I had some nice gin I probably wouldn't share it with anyone let alone DS Grin

SpottyTeacakes · 19/08/2013 15:17

I'm going out tonight to my friends salon for new hair and pizza Smile

itsMYNutella · 19/08/2013 16:12

Yay spotty! Relax, enjoy yourself and possibly accidentally turn your phone off ShockGrin

SpottyTeacakes · 19/08/2013 16:14

Grin dp will be fine as both dc will be In bed!

2blessed · 19/08/2013 16:17

willyou the rusk in bottle conversation reared its head again here over the weekend.

R has his first top tooth coming through, probably why he's been so unsettled.

Had planned to do lots of cleaning today but only managed cleaning the shelves of one kitchen cupboard.

IsThatTrue · 19/08/2013 16:20

Ah willyou major fb fail! I just have my mil talking to DS 'when are you going to sleep' my reply so far has always been 'at some point before he's 18' I don't complain to her about lack of sleep so I'm not sure why she's bothered.

Enjoy spotty tonight I'm just hoping DS goes to bed nicely as DH is out playing squash and I still have work to do.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 19/08/2013 16:23

I keep meaning to Hoover 2blessed but I'm too lazy. Well done for even doing one cupboard.

Go spotty have fun and come home an hour later than you promised Grin

That's a good point Nutella. I'm going to write willyou's guide to making your baby sleep through the night.

Chapter 1
You can't, but drink a shitload of gin and you won't hear them screaming.

The End

WillYouDoTheFandango · 19/08/2013 16:46

I've just checked his gums and 3 top teeth and 1 bottom tooth broke the gums last night. DP feels a bit Blush as he thought he was faking! If I'd realised I'd have given him calpol. Oops.

PrunellaDeVille · 19/08/2013 16:48

Stacks - if you're out there, did you buy your Jane slalom yet? great tip and I just bid on one myself (no other bidders so sure not competing with you atm)

2blessed · 19/08/2013 17:12

willyou 4 teeth coming through at once? Poor DS.
Planning to do another cupboard once R goes to sleep and hoover tomorrow. Doubt it will happen but nice to have a plan...

pmgkt · 19/08/2013 20:20

I'm lucky it was only one night of broken sleep, not a peep until half 6 this morning. We only have 2 bottom teeth, I'm sure ds1 had more by now but maybe not. More crawling practice today, looking less commando as the legs are properly getting up under him but he hasn't worked that the arms need to move forward in time with the legs. Lots of bumps going on.

Barbeasty · 19/08/2013 20:48

Spotty phone the landline to accidentally wake the DC, then get home an hour late...

halestone · 19/08/2013 21:27

Loving that idea BeastyGrin Spotty do it think of our amusement haha hope your having a lovely nightWineWine

Willyou yay to the teeth coming through.

H has been refusing to go to bed until 1am for over a week and then having 3 wake ups and getting up at 8am. However she is tired now and i'm hoping to get her to sleep for the night.

Has anyone sold their prams yet? If so where do you recommend selling it? We really need to get rid of H's travel system as she is huge now.

itsMYNutella · 19/08/2013 21:28

Barb that's evil genius that is!

Willyou I really fancy a gin and tonic with a slice of lime.... I must remember to buy gin next time I'm in the UK. GrinWhat's worse is you can't buy slimline tonic here... So I'll have to drink plain gin Wink

Poor DS's cold, he is sneezing and sneezing and has had three decent naps today. Then I was a bad mummy and kept him up late. We had dinner at a friend who goes back to England tomorrow. We had to leave though because he had a fourth nap but really needed his bed. Poor little chap. Sad

CustardOmlet · 19/08/2013 21:29

Happy belated birthday utopian. Commiserations too all those sharp little teeth, and bad nights sleep. On the plus side, that's a few less teeth you have to deal with later on (we still don't have any!) I have a miracle sleeper, 7-7 solid and 2-3hr naps in the day, however it's been a painful self soothing road, taken a long time for him to learn to settle himself and still takes 30mins occationally.

Well I swore I would keep up last week, then DH crashed and wrote off the car so had a very busy/stressful weekend trying to sort out insurance/new car/childcare to reduce the stress on him, never a quiet moment for us mums! On the plus side, I got to have today off ward carers leave to look after them and my managers have agreed to cut my hours to 22.5 per week, I'm a happy Egg!

halestone · 19/08/2013 21:38

Nutella pineapple juice is lovely with ginWink

Oh Eggs i hope your DH is ok. And yay to your reduced hours.

WL i hope your 1st day back at work went ok.Thanks

WLmum · 19/08/2013 21:45

Well we all survived. Annoyingly DH didn't even bother trying to give T any milk from the sippy so that's 3oz ebm wasted. Apart from that all went pretty well at home and T was pleased to see me but not desperate. Work was totally depressing though. Harumph.

WLmum · 19/08/2013 22:15

Wow to all the teeth eggs I like your thinking.

Man alive work has made me grumpy. Just going to double check I wouldn't have to repay anything then I'm going to fb some old colleagues to see if they know of anything.

PurplePidjin · 19/08/2013 23:12

WL use it on cereal in the morning!

IsThatTrue · 19/08/2013 23:31

DS has worked out how to stand up in the cot in his sleeping bag :( every time he moans even if I get there in under a minute, he's stood up. This boy is going to damage himself.

I hope lo's are sleeping tonight, we're on first wake up but my boob needed relief so I was secretly glad he woke which is the best start to a night we've had in ages so fx.

utopian99 · 20/08/2013 04:05

Ds has had a rash on his neck for a few days; I took him to the pharmacist who said it looked harmless and gave me some aqueous cream. I put it on him around midday and it now looks so much worse. Going to try for a doctor appointment first thing but have any of you experienced this?
He seems well otherwise and isn't even itching but it looks like it's weeping now..

SpottyTeacakes · 20/08/2013 06:40

Utopian no idea but if its weeping I would definitely get it checked.

WL it's good that T was ok with you gone sorry you didn't have a great fine Sad thinking about going back to my own job made me so grumpy but now I have a new one, although I don't really want to go back, I'm not feeling so bad; new challenge, new people etc... Hopefully you can find something. Could you go freelance?

Wow on all the teeth cust! Ds still doesn't have any!

I had a good time last night was home by nine though Wink ds up at 5:30 again dp and I arguing before 6:30....

SpottyTeacakes · 20/08/2013 06:41

Whoops wrong person with the teeth.

Good news on the hours custard that's a perfect amount.
