My baby can also write birthday cards it seems. Grin

halestone · 17/08/2013 10:14

Yay Lazza and Fod Grin

Is it your birthday Utopian? If so Happy Birthday ThanksWineThanks

Not to try and lower the tone but my baby is THE best farter in the world. There loud and smelly and done all the time haha.

Oh Spottyy i will have to find that thread. I've been a little bit addicted to the tidydancer wedding threads even though they make me uncomfortable to read. I've saved thread 4 to catch up on today when o get chance.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 17/08/2013 10:57

I have spotty I'm a bit Envy

Happy birthday (if it is your birthday) Utopian

SpottyTeacakes · 17/08/2013 11:12

I'm Envy at anyone having a baby!

I've got all of dd's Christmas presents just need to do her stocking and Christmas Eve ones now Grinno idea what I'm going to get ds as a, his birthday is so close to Christmas and b, we still have all of dd's toys

2blessed · 17/08/2013 11:21

My baby is the best at ripping his daddy's vintage comics... Shock

Maryland2013 · 17/08/2013 16:27

My baby is the best at shoving all his hand in his mouth and wiggling his fingers until he spews. He's so clever he does this after his meals mostly. So so clever...

SpottyTeacakes · 17/08/2013 17:24

warning mememe moany post:

Dp has annoyed me and I want to know if I'm overreacting.

As you know Wink I have issues with dp being late and not telling me. He went to football at 10:30 (12:30 kick off) I was a bit Hmm it was so early but he said 'its fine its an early kick off I'll be home by 3'. So I stay in this afternoon with the dc with a really bad headache.

He comes home at four and walks in and says nothing. I say 'why are you back so late?' 'Oh dbro bought me a pint I text you but them remembered you aren't connected' (stupid Carphone warehouse) we had discussed yesterday how he can ring the home phone.

Then he asks if I've started dinner, no, why? Say I and had replies he wants take away pizza. 'Oh no I'm making pizza tonight Smile' he screws up his nose Hmm says he would rather have take away pizza. I have a bit of a moan about money etc and he says 'fine as long as it fills me up'.

I'm the one who always cooks and plans meals etc Sad I don't get thanks unless I moan at him!

Sorry I'm just feeling like our relationship is crappy at the moment and every little thing upsets me he just doesn't get it

PurplePidjin · 17/08/2013 18:00

Spotty that would piss me off too!

My bsby is the best at knocking over towers then being upset that the tower has been knocked over Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 17/08/2013 18:07

Oh pidj that's so sweet! I can just imagine him getting all excited at knocking it down then realising it's no longer there and his bottom lip going!

itsMYNutella · 17/08/2013 18:08

spotty first Cake (awesome that there is now a cake icon on mn!) and Wine
Your DP does sound a little bit of an arse unhelpful. Does he appreciate how much work his children are? My DP made me pancakes this morning and got up and let me stay in bed an extra 1.5 hours. I do tell him he is wonderful. We also make it a point to always say please and thank you for everything. When I forget to say please he reminds me. :)

I would personally be a bit Hmm if I was in need of a baby break and he wanted to go off out and do his thing Confused and hadn't considered what I needed.... I suppose if I consider what he needed too this post would continue forever. Basically there should be a balance. If it doesn't feel balanced to you then make sure you sit down and talk to him about it. and (((hugs)))!

2blessed oh dear your poor DH's comics... the things we sacrifice for our children... Confused

DS just fell asleep while eating dinner... that's a first! Have put him down for a nap and will have to get him up to play & bath him and change him in a bit. Poor little chap. He was all sunny and happy on the bus home. Get home, make his dinner sit him in his chair.... and about halfway through his eyes started getting very heavy. Was quite cute too though!

SpottyTeacakes · 17/08/2013 18:11

Did you get a pic Nutella?! He does do 50/50 childcare housework when he's home but I think he feels he's entitled to his football (true) and that that takes priority over family (not true) I guess it's hard finding a balance but a bit if appreciation would go amiss...

Maryland2013 · 17/08/2013 18:50

It wouldn't be so bad if football didn't last all day! I've never understood how a 90 minute game takes hours and hours. For a 12:30 kick off surely they only have to be there at 12... He was probably naive though saying back at 3 as they wouldn't have finished til nearly half 2.
I've clearly thought about this too much!
But I would be pissed off too if dh left us to it all day on a Saturday..

lazzaroo · 17/08/2013 18:50

spotty think it's fair enough to be annoyed. We have similar discussions in this house about golf. Like when dp has been away for workm comes home and then goes to play golf...when I feel that he might like to spend that time with the family!! So I can go to bed, um, I mean to spend quality time with the girls Wink

Just held comforter idol to decide which one to start putting baby lazza down with. Hoping it helps with settling at night.

Loving all the tales of mischievous little babies Smile glad it's not just us with our hands full!

SpottyTeacakes · 17/08/2013 18:58

Apparently they all meet at the home ground and go in convoy because 'that's what all footballers do' Hmm

Lazza you could wear the comforter down your top when it's not being used so it smells of you

lazzaroo · 17/08/2013 19:18

15 mins from awake to sleeping tonight Smile.

Good idea spotty, going to make a point of giving it to her for sleep times. I remember dd1 just suddenly took to hers, then we had a sudden panic when we realised they weren't for sale anymore so I managed to get a spare on eBay! Sods law she never lost it & the spares still in the cupboard!

Christening next weekend. Need to finalise cake design Smile

PrunellaDeVille · 17/08/2013 19:18

so proud of ds, he's perfected the art of pinch and twist and has such beautiful little sharp nails.

I want to be mad at dh for constantly staying out late, never being home for feeding or bathing and being out most weekends too as I'm lonely and tired but he's building us a house so I can't even be mad

SpottyTeacakes · 17/08/2013 19:21

That's great Lazza! Neither dd or ds have a comforter I sometimes wish they did for their sake but they both have their thumb!

Ooo Pru how lovely having a house built just for you!

lazzaroo · 17/08/2013 19:49

I really thought baby lazza was going to find her thumb, but she never did. She does however like to suck on her big toe! Confused

WLmum · 17/08/2013 19:58

spotty the meal thing sometimes pisses me off too - like you I do all the cooking and planning to make sure everyone gets something they like and that's it's mostly healthy/balanced. If I ever run out of steam and ask DH he just says pizza.
pru tell us more about the house building, sounds amazing!

lazza Grin at comforter idol! Glad the settling is getting better. I've noticed that since we conquered the nights, naps are so much better. Last few days she's had 1.5 hours in the morning and again in the afternoon! I've noticed that she'll open her eyes and wriggle a couple of times but settle right back down. Do so hope I haven't just jinxed it!! She must be wearing herself out though as she's a crawling fiend now and pulls up to standing at every opportunity - including pulling up on the toilet and sucking the seat!! Bleurgh! Cute when I was in the shower and she pulled up on the side of the bath (and sucked it) to say hi!

WLmum · 17/08/2013 20:20

Ok, bit of an aibu. Went to the pub for lunch, I ordered a Greek salad for £8.25. When it arrived it was minuscule - literally 6 olives, 1 quartered tomato, few bits of cucumber and 1 lettuce leaf. There was a decent chunk if bread with it. I took it back saying that is not £8 worth of salad! Waitress was very good and immediately said she'd take it off the bill and would I like something else. Should I have just kept my trap shut?!

SpottyTeacakes · 17/08/2013 20:27

GrinGood for you. Sounds more side salad size. How much feta was in it?!

Maryland2013 · 17/08/2013 20:28

Spotty tell him if he's bringing home 50k a week he can use the phrase "all footballers do" but until then that's just bullshit!! Wink

Maryland2013 · 17/08/2013 20:29

WL I would have sent that back too!! Not BU at all..

WLmum · 17/08/2013 20:32

Maybe 4 tiny squares

SpottyTeacakes · 17/08/2013 20:33

For £8 I would expect a big salad with a whole pack of feta Grinywnbu to complain
