I for one have a very surprising baby.

beasty I hope DD is feeling better now.

FoD I offered DS chocolate custard about a month ago, he hated it though Shock More for me! Grin

DS's sleep is getting better. He usually wakes for a feed around 10pm but if he doesn't I feed him at 11pm just before I get into bed. Without fail he wakes every morning at 4am to feed and then goes back to sleep. Could this be habit rather than actual hunger? Has anyone else had wake ups you can set your watch by?

SpottyTeacakes · 12/08/2013 05:51

Seymore sounds like things are really improving. Ds woke at 4 for a whole before he started sleeping through. How often does he wake at 10?

Beasty sorry dd is still poorly they always go downhill later in the day don't they?

FoD ds HAS to have what dd is eating or he gets very upset so he's eaten small bits of cadburys animal biscuits Smile definitely fine at this age!

Barbeasty · 12/08/2013 07:05

Well A has stolen DD's maltesers, and on Friday I gave him a taste of my ice cream and when I went to take my hand away, A grabbed my hand and pulled it back for more!

Anyway, chocolate is an essential part of a blanced diet!

We decided last night we would have a quiet morning and then a longer beach trip this afternoon. Then we can come down another time fairly soon and do Peppa Pig world.

So, we had a good night, with just Anthony's usual wakings, and DD is in a really good mood!

Never mind.

WLmum · 12/08/2013 07:21

Grin hales!

Epic night here - woke at 11.30 but settled with a quick cuddle and no boob, woke at 6.15!!!! Chatted happily to herself til 6.30 Grin I'm a happy mummy! Fx its not a one off!

willyou I knew someone who was giving their dd smiley faces at 4 months. I just didn't know what to say!

WLmum · 12/08/2013 07:23

Sounds like a good plan beasty

WLmum · 12/08/2013 07:25

seymour that all sounds good, especially compared to how things were. I'd suggest its habit waking him at 4, but how you choose to tackle it (or not) is another matter!

PurplePidjin · 12/08/2013 07:50

there's a sling meet in Southbourne today if that's your bag?

FoD r gets his own icecream from the snapped off point of my cone! He only hasn't had chocolate because of his reaction through my milk :o

WillYouDoTheFandango · 12/08/2013 08:28

Seymour those were exactly out wakings until last night. Every night like clockwork 10 and 4. I fed at both as sleeping through is technically 5h and that's 6.

Last night GrinGrinGrinGrin j woke at 2 but I didn't get up immediately and he self settled and woke for a bottle at 5:30. Back down at 6:30 until 8:15. Wahoo!

WLmum · 12/08/2013 08:35

One week today til I'm back at work Sad

utopian99 · 12/08/2013 09:00

Oh WL.sorry to hear that.. let's hope it's agood last week?

Willyou that pil thread is quite something. Am just catching up as we're away with my pils in Wales, thankfully they are lovely and nothing like that. Dh and I volunteered to make supper last night and we could hear gales of laughter from next doors as they were playing boo behind the sofa with him. Grin

Spotty great news on the car seat. We've had one donated by my cousin - maxi cosi priori. Is this a good one/ rear facing? Tbh though I think rear facing is what makes O unhappy in his cabriofix..

Seymour we normally have v regular wakeups at 3am.and up for the day at 6.45ish. Not at the moment though as the travel cot mattress is far too hard I think, so last night was pretty unsettled..

WLmum · 12/08/2013 09:44

utopian we have that seat, it is a really good forward facing one. T is so much happier in the car since we moved her into that seat.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/08/2013 09:46

That's great WillYou Smile

Oh no WL Sad I've emailed my new job to tell them the days I can't do overtime before I sign the contract so just waiting to see if they withdraw the offer.

Utopian I think the priori is the same as the tobi just a lower spec but I'm not sure which additional features the tobi has it's definitely forward facing though.

halestone · 12/08/2013 10:05

WL i hope you have a lovely last week off Grin

I hope they don't withdraw the offer Spotty.

Utopian H has been in a forward facing one for quite a while as she os massive and grew out of the first one quickly. I didn't realise that you could get rear facing ones and to be honest H loves facing forward and i like being able to glance back and see her smiling or playing with her car toys.

Beasty i hope you have a lovely dayGrin

Seymore h wakes around the same time but never at actual same time IYSWIM. I think its her body clock that says right enough sleep in the cot time to get in mums bed Grin

Pidj i know you can buy lactose and dairy free chocolate bars in the allergy part in Asda if you wanted to give R a bar.

Willyou yay to the better sleep Grin

Stacks · 12/08/2013 10:07

Hi. We're still in the land of no sleep. T has a really snotty nose too which really isn't helping.

Just thought I'd chip in a bit without reading back yet on the carseat talk. I'm hoping to get this one as its rf and isofix for reasonable price.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/08/2013 10:13

There's lots of stuff that's dairy free- bourbons, jaffa cakes (at least Tesco ones are, fry's chocolate bars, all dark chocolate, Oreos.

I think it might just be the straps that are different on the tobi Confused

WLmum · 12/08/2013 10:17

The tobi fits into the car differently and has a slightly larger weight range.

WLmum · 12/08/2013 10:21

Sadly work is a must - bought dd1 new school shows yesterday - £34!!! Thankfully her feet seem to grow quite slowly so they should last all year and mostly dd2 has dd1s casts offs.

WLmum · 12/08/2013 10:23

T is being a boob monster this morning. Luckily I've quite a bit of ebm in the freezer which she'll drink from a sippy and although I don't want to express at work long term, I think I might have to start with.

halestone · 12/08/2013 10:29

Thats a lovely car seat Stacks i really hope sleep improves for you soon. Are you still BF?

WL is T having a growth spurt?

Stacks · 12/08/2013 10:55

Hales - yes, still bf. t doesn't really eat much at meals, so I'm feeding quite a lot. Last night I fed to sleep at 6:30, 1:30 and 4. He settles really quickly on most wake ups, just wars up loads, I probably could have not fed him when I did, but I was hoping he was waking from hunger and would sleep longer when fed (averaged about 45 mins sleep at a go last night, longest 1.5hrs). I'm going to do cc if things don't improve soon, unfortunately we're going on holiday at tge end of the month for a couple of weeks so there's no point training now. Plus he has a cold and is a snot monster.

I've been looking at getting a new pushchair - the Jane Slalom. You can pick them up super cheap on eBay through local pickup auctions (sister got hers for £5!). It's a 3 wheeler jogging pram, but can also come with the Matrix car seat which is a 0+ and can lie flat as a carrycot. I'm going to borrow my sisters while we're visiting, and if its good get myself one from eBay. A lie flat carseat which DS fits in could be great for longer journeys, and as its 0+ we could wait on buying a new seat for a while.

halestone · 12/08/2013 11:13

Stacks i did CC with my DN when i was 37 weeks pregnant, the first two nights were hard but after that it became easier. I hope you have a lovely holiday Grin

PrunellaDeVille · 12/08/2013 12:03

indulging myself DS by letting him sleep on me, he'll do an hour or more like this rather than his usual half hour.

been using the time highly effectively by browsing the new 2012 baby name data Blush. happy to report no surprise that Claude has not suddenly romped into the top 10 or even top 1000, 8 of them this year - makes me want to meet the others.

anyone know of a non-isofix rear facing car seat for the next stage? and even better one that can be put onto a pram base too??

SpottyTeacakes · 12/08/2013 12:05

Poor you Stacks Sad I hope things improve, I love the idea of the lie flat car seat.

WL I haven't expressed for ages and I don't think I could get anything out if I tried. My boobs feel so empty now all the time (even though ds can obviously get milk out)

SpottyTeacakes · 12/08/2013 12:07

Pru the one I linked to upthread is non isofix. DD is is three and only 28lb and as it goes up to 39lb I'm expecting it to last ds rear facing until he's quite old.

I am pretty sure that none of the next stage car seats would go onto a pram base although I'm willing to be corrected Grin

PrunellaDeVille · 12/08/2013 13:58

thanks spotty i'll check it out
