I now have the flumps theme tune in my head!

WLmum · 09/08/2013 22:36

Hi btw!

Flumpy2012 · 10/08/2013 00:33

I second a massive boo to periods too x

Flumpy2012 · 10/08/2013 00:57

Oh and Willyou, she's still a tiddler now, 15lb 12 at 8 months and still in 3-6month clothing bless her.

Very happy little lady though :)

How are you all doing?

Can someone update me on any big news? x

SpottyTeacakes · 10/08/2013 02:52

Having a really shit night. Ds has been screaming for the past two hours. Dd wet the bed. Ds was almost asleep dd came running in and woke him up again. Dp's gone to sleep downstairs.

SpottyTeacakes · 10/08/2013 02:54

Dp just came I took ds downstairs and he stopped crying instantly so there's nothing actually wrong with him like hunger or teething pain. It's an angry cry no tears or anything.

Barbeasty · 10/08/2013 06:44

Oh Spotty, not good.

A didn't get to bed until about 10. Every time he nearly fed to sleep,.someone would wake him & play, so he was thoroughly awake.

He went into the travel cot ok, but woke less than an hour, later with a really piercing scream. So he's shared my (single) bed all night, and not done badly. He's still asleep now (DD very much isn't!)

We might be going to peppa pig world on Monday. Still negotiating!

SpottyTeacakes · 10/08/2013 06:51

Barbeasty tell your dh it isn't that big and you can be done in four hours but make sure you hold your dd on the teacups unlike me, poor dd went flying into the middle of the cup Blush

WLmum · 10/08/2013 08:59

Sorry for the bad nights. T was up at 2 but settled quick quickly without a feed, dd2 was up at 3, T was up at 4 and it took me until 5.30 to settle her. She slept til after 7 then though. My back is really sore from mega rocking of 20lb+ of wriggling baby.

Good tip re the teacups as we 'll def be on those - my girls love a teacup ride!
We always take picnics as much to try keep the costs down a bit. Queueing for over priced crap food is never a winner.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 10/08/2013 11:05

Morning all, hope you got a bit more sleep Spotty after DP took DS downstairs.

We were up twice with teeth but I rocked him back to sleep eventually. Not too bad and he's off to MiLs tonight so lie ins for us. I am going to leave full instructions on how to get him to sleep, she'll completely ignore them like last time and I will laugh at how haggard and knackered she looks in the morning. I'm not a nice person am I? Grin

There's an awesome PiL thread in AIBU. I am Shock reading it!

SpottyTeacakes · 10/08/2013 11:11

Didn't do too well WillYou Sad Envy Of your lie in!

Going to dd's best friends (daughter of my best friend) birthday party in a bit Smile told dp we needed to be there at 12 so he told his boss he could work until 11 Hmm then he's leaving the party half an hour early at 2 for a 3:45 kick off Angry and won't be back until 6:30 I shouldn't think.

I just got my contract and it mentions that I should be available for earlier starts/finishing on my contracted days but on the Monday I absolutely cannot start earlier than 1:30. What should I do?

SpottyTeacakes · 10/08/2013 15:51

I'm so, so, so pissed off. Hermes have lost the parcel of nappies that a kind mnetter offered to me for free worth loads of money and Carphone Warehouse have lost my new phone which I have been charged for since yesterday even though I don't have it!

Barbeasty · 10/08/2013 16:04

Oh Spotty, tomorrow will be better.

When the peppa pig world web site says the rides aren't suitable for under 1s, would they let me on with A in a sling? Little rides, obviously!

And is a ring sling worth it? I'm getting very tempted, especially as we're getting to the age where A will want to be up and down all the time.

SpottyTeacakes · 10/08/2013 16:11

I took DS on the rides in the sling.

I like my ring sling but can only do a front carry really, if I start out with him in the hip carry then he always ends up at the front. He's so wriggly and he tries to look at the ground! If I had money I would get an R&R but I don't Wink so the ring sling does us fine

Barbeasty · 10/08/2013 17:11

I keep wanting a preschool r&r, but really wouldn't use it enough to justify. I've got a Boba 3g, which is similar but baby size and A likes it.

lazzaroo · 10/08/2013 19:21

Baby lazza fell asleep while I was feeding her, so is in bed. Came downstairs & dd1 was asleep on the sofa! DH hadn't noticed she'd dozed off! Have just carried her up to bed, as she was all bathed & in nightie. She never normally falls asleep like that unless she's ill. Hope it is just due to tiredness.

SpottyTeacakes · 10/08/2013 19:22

Aww hope she's not coming down with something lazza!

FriendofDorothy · 10/08/2013 19:55

I have a Connecta and a ring sling. Love both of them.

PurplePidjin · 10/08/2013 20:14

I have an Ellaroo 5 and Oscha 6, dp has a standard size r-r :)

lazzaroo · 10/08/2013 21:12

Thanks spotty, me too!

You lot have had me googling....ring slings, r&r, connecta....it's like you're all talking a foreign language to me! Wink.

Hope there are lots of successful nights all round.

WLmum · 10/08/2013 21:58

Rubbish spotty do they have a claims procedure?

beasty I absolutely could not live without my ring sling! Always do a hip carry which is like a lovely cuddle but with both arms free and other side if I need to cuddle dd1/2. T loves it as she's up with me and can be involved with everything. It's so easy to pop on and pop in her on and out. The only thing is that she does get heavy in a way that she probably wouldn't in something suitable for a back carry. I use it a lot, round the house and in the park mainly but try to take it out with me most places.

We've had a lovely day at dbs. T slept most of the hours drive home and as we arrived back not long before bed she was of course not ready for bed. She came to tesco with me instead - weird having her out after dark but she loved all the lights. Just feeding her now and about to put her down.
We spent most of the afternoon on their huge trampoline and I'm pleased to report that the pelvic floor stood up! Last time (before pg with T) it most definitely did not, much to the amusement of all grown ups! If we had a bigger garden I would def get a big trampoline, dd1&2 had a ball and T even enjoyed a bounce. Bet my legs will ache tomorrow.

WLmum · 10/08/2013 22:20

Omg T just puked her whole massive feed Sad. I was just winding her before putting her down and a huge jet a la little Britain came at me. I hope she's not ill, she's been fine all day and was really laughing while I was putting her pjs on. Just starting bedtime feed again.

WLmum · 10/08/2013 22:42

Bless her she's asleep now. Didn't seem at all unhappy after the vomiting although obviously a bit upset immediately after.

halestone · 10/08/2013 22:45

Welcome Flump Thanks

Hope Your DD is ok Lazza.

I hope T is ok WL. I'm glad you have had a lovely day and also that your pelvic floor held up Grin

Beasty yay i'm glad you've convinced DP to go to Peppa Pig world. I hope your enjoying your weekend away.

Spotty i hope tomorrow is a better day for you.

I'm about to upload a picture of H on fb my Dsis brought her a Flamenco dress from Barcelona. H loved trying it on Grin

ISpyPlumPie · 10/08/2013 23:56

Spotty - hope you have a better day tomorrow.

WL - hope T is ok. Also fx your LO is just extra tired Lazza.

Beasty - have a great time at Peppa Pig world.

Hales - sounds like you had a lovely day at the zoo. It's definitely on our to-do list for this year - have been a couple of times with DS1 but he was quite a bit younger. Also would love to see what N makes of it all.

Willyou - Shock at that thread! Enjoy your evening.

Am very tempted by the talk of ring slings. I'm still carrying N on my front with a woven, which works well but as he's on the chunky side I know I won't be able to do it for too much longer. I'm going to look into back carries, but really like the idea of him being able to get up and down more easily especially as he gets more mobile. The trouble is, we tried one out a few months ago and he really took against it - screaming as soon as he went in it and not settling. Am thinking it might be worth another try though as these things seem to change all the time with him. Might see if I can make the next sling meet.

We have waving - well he sticks his arm out, and opens and closes his hand!
