Hopefully they'll be fine eliza, i'm sure they will :) Hope you have fun at the wedding and enjoy your child-free time :)

TheDetective · 25/07/2013 21:40

PR no, not at all offended?! Was trying to work out how you had offended me haha!

I've eaten. And now I want to go to bed. DS1 needs to stop fannying about first though Hmm.

TheDetective · 25/07/2013 21:41

O must have read my mind. In his sleep. Because he's crying... self settle. Please please please pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease.

Fuck.

Happy 9 months ValiumPrince!

Det my mum is desperate to feed L milk as well, I don't think she believes in intolerance. Thing is, I don't think L's is that severe. I think the initial reaction (tummy pain, mucous) was partly due to the quantity of milk he was suddenly given, really it should have been increased more gradually (but everyone was so worried about his weight). He has tolerated milk in cooked form, ie in bread or a splash in quiche. So I don't know whether to challenge it more. He occasionally gets a few spots around the mouth but they seem quite random, not clear if it's related.

Either way though, I want it to be mine & DH's decision! As I said earlier it is one of the few stresses of having my Mum looking after L, she is desperate to feed him ice cream.

YellowWellies · 25/07/2013 22:01

So far a better night has been sponsored by Calpol.... maybe it's teefs? Bah he'll get one eventually! Probably when I don't think so....

MM teehee on optimistic renovation / daddy day care plans. Get a Wine and watch. Because wet paint, power tools, dust, floorboards up, wires everywhere, nails, Stanley knives, toxic chemicals, fumes, being covered in paint and feeding / cuddling / changing / getting an infant to sleep goes so well together. DH is an optimist but he snorted at that Smile Wink I'm going to start our decorating once the bear is at nursery. He's not moving yet but I guarantee that he'd let me do two minutes max (enough to get all clarty in paint then he'd cry and want picking up whilst I run round trying to get clean enough to pick him up to a background of howls) - once he's moving and wittering all day long all bets are off.

My ex was a dot.com entrepreneur - he thought he'd be able to code whilst his little girl played happily with Lego until lunchtime... she didn't give him ten minutes Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin I found that far too funny as his arrogance basically denigrated the hard work of childcare by assuming it was something he could do half assed but poor silly women took all day to do because they were less competent than him! Epic fail.

PetiteRaleuse · 25/07/2013 22:03

I've been wondering about vq's comment the other day about the whooping cough jab that you had during pregnancy (I didn't have it as no epidemic over here) so I googled it. Nothing. Yet.

But there do seem to be a lot of you with intolerant babies (so to speak).

I wonder what will come out of this several years down the line. Will definitely ask paed about it (as I said she is very open about jabs). Could something like that cause widespread food allergies? Or is it that people in the UK are told to be careful about food they eat during pregnancy to a point where babies don't build up immunity? But that wouldn't solve the dairy intolerances... I went off dairy during my pregnancy almost completely, but LO seems fine with it.

PurplePidjin · 25/07/2013 22:04

Wine and Cake all round. Some seriously shit days going on in Quichester Sad

I am thankful R's grumps are shortlived and easily solved. I am thankful for my friends and family and vvvdp even when he fucks up simple tasks then wonders why I'm not abasing myself in gratitude and I'm thankful for simple pleasures like walks on the beach.

R is still waking twice a night for 10-20 minutes. He shouts, feeds, sleeps. He is more and more preferring to be walked/rocked/cuddled to sleep, which takes 5 minutes max. I am confident desperately praying he will grow out of it please god soon

What's the weight limit on baby car seats? I've got a Chicco one (best i could afford) and can't remember Blush

Passmethecrisps · 25/07/2013 22:04

Hallo! Where did everyone spring up from? I have been hanging around killing other threads waiting for you all.

When will p get teeth? Why does she have none still? She acts like she is teething all. The. Time!

Books. Tell me your favourite children's books please. They are so sad! Peter rabbit's dad was pie! WTF?

Loving the whale and the snail.

stunt I hope you are ok. I really do. I read and reread your post earlier and could think of nothing worthwhile to say.

Kyzordz · 25/07/2013 22:08

No teefs here either, and permanent teething apparently!

Passmethecrisps · 25/07/2013 22:08

Genuinely PR? I think it is awareness. I think a few of us had extreme enough experiences to make the whole quiche aware and start looking at their own LOs.

I have just been blathering on another thread about a 'bad' toddler maintaining that maybe it is undiagnosed reflux!

Jims · 25/07/2013 22:20

Daddy daycare starts here in august for the last 3 months of my leave. I'm due back 2 weeks today Sad DH also thinks he's going to be able to spend hours working on the garden. I'm torn between wanting the garden to get on (it was an at least 15 years untended jungle when we moved in) and wanting him to experience the true joys of 2 small children in full on meltdown.

pass book suggestions: all julia donaldson, in partic what the ladybird heard, hairy maclary, we're going on a bear hunt, peepo, each peach pear plum, cops and robbers (bit old but v funny). I lurve a good rhyming story Smile

Hope everyone has a better day tomorrow.

MissMummy1 · 25/07/2013 22:24

Second night in a row she has required a run in the car to get her to sleep Confused

8 month regression?

YY to Julia Donaldson btw

YellowWellies · 25/07/2013 22:24

Pass that's really sad (the toddler) our paed reckoned some cases of attachment disorder can be caused by untreated reflux as children give up hope that their parents can help / want to help their pain... especially if they're treated as naughty rather than ill. It was one of my biggest fears when he was wee - that he'd lose his faith in me Sad

Passmethecrisps · 25/07/2013 22:27

Get yerself on the thread YW! First thing I thought was reflux!

I will post the link in a min.

Thanks jims I am also fond of rhyme. I find p starts to drift to sleep nicely with the rhythm. Can I say again? I luff the snail and the whale

PetiteRaleuse · 25/07/2013 22:29

I have a 'bad' toddler though and I think she is just genetically a pita :o DD1 eats everything and other than the recent milk overdose she is fine. Just a pita.

MIL says that DH was the same and one of my sisters is always going on about what a horrible child I was.

But that doesn't explain babies.. DD1 was a breeze, and, although she doesn't sleep as well and was ill with ENT issues those first six months, LO is fairly easy too. I was just thinkingnaloud, so to speak.

YellowWellies · 25/07/2013 22:29

MM the 9 month regression can be anywhere from 7 to 10 months so it could be? Jonas has been really fighting sleep too. Ahhhh the joys..... Hmm Please no midnight feed tonight.

Jims · 25/07/2013 22:31

So...tired....

Det work are wankers. So are yours, pr.
Kyz hope the bird is ok.

Fuck it. I can't remember what else. Sorry. Have had a lovely day and been thoroughly spoilt by my wonderful dh and lovely friends. But I really need to sleep now. Night all xxx

YellowWellies · 25/07/2013 22:35

We love tiddler too!

Passmethecrisps · 25/07/2013 22:39

I love reading p to sleep. It is my new favourite thing. Such a peaceful way to be lulled to sleep - she occasionally tries to look up to see the pictures and likes to stroke the pages. Also, I get to read awesome stories and leave without being a knackered sticky mess.

I suspect I was a bawbag toddler PR. I was certainly a bawbag teen!

PetiteRaleuse · 25/07/2013 22:41

I was an easy teen, for my family and teachers. Less so for my school friends I think.

Passmethecrisps · 25/07/2013 22:42

Easy for my teachers. Total and utter arse for my poor maw

ValiumQueen · 25/07/2013 22:43

J just asleep. Grr.

I am a Beatrix Potter fan and all things Julia and Axel whatever their names - smartest giant in town, room on the broom, gruffalo and so on. Get them from The Book People as they do 10 for £10.

Night night, sweet dreams x

Thank you for the 9 month congrats. He can go in a forward facing seat now! Yay!

Elizadoesdolittle · 25/07/2013 22:49

Other than the books already mentioned by Julia Donaldson , DD1 loves A squeeze and a squash, superworm and the smartest giant in town. But I have to say as good as they are after reading them 5 times a day for what feels like forever they will start to annoy you so read them sparingly whilst you can. I had to hide what the lady bird heard for a week as I just couldn't take it any more.

My Dsis is in early labour. Am ridicously excited. Hope it isn't a false alarm although it would be much more convieniant for me if she gave birth on saturday.
