Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
TheDetective · 25/07/2013 18:32

lily I was due back in April, but I'm aiming for September as financially I can't afford to be off sick, so whether I feel healed or not, I have to go back. But I will do a phased return over 4 weeks, then use annual leave to do less days for a couple of months. Hopefully to see me through til after christmas. I need to discuss it with work, and hope pray they will be accommodating. They aren't usually...

O has finally chilled the fuck out. About 45 mins after calpol. It must be pain related. I strongly suspect it is two things - teeth and the bread MIL gave him yesterday.

Guess what the sandwich actually had on it (I forgot to update this bit yesterday!)?

Cheese and tomato!!!!! Hmm

DP had a chat with MIL and she now knows not to give him anything without knowing it is a 'safe' food first. She knew this anyway, but hopefully now she will listen. Or O will be going to a CM!

Would it be wrong to say the best part of my day today was the glycerin suppositories?! Grin Still not cleared out though, and still feel sick. Feel very very bloated. But can't keep the supps in long enough for a proper clear out Hmm.

TheDetective · 25/07/2013 18:50

I looked over at O, who was happily playing at the other end of the room finally to see him stood up walking along with his vtech walker Shock. I just caught it on video!

Shared on fb. But fuuuuuuuuuck. Slow down please! I can't keep up Confused.

I knew he was trying to walk earlier. He would let go of the sofa over and over but fall on his bum as he can only keep balance for 1-2 seconds. I figured he was practicing... Guess he has found a way round it for now! Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 25/07/2013 18:53

Could your work put you on a less strenuous ward Detective ? Iirc you're on postnatal, but would delivery or an obgyn ward be less strenuous? Less lifting or whatever?

ValiumQueen · 25/07/2013 19:07

Detective the cheese would explain why poor little O has not been happy today then. I am not sure I would trust her again. That is outrageous!

PR I think ADs would help with your current stress levels with the children. I know they are helping here.

Clarella I am on that too and it is helping, but has a few unpleasant side effects. On the whole worth it though.

I think J might have more teeth coming as his poos are acidic and his rash is worsening. Poor wee mite. 9 months old today! I bought him some new clothes and PJs in Asda sale. T shirts for £1 and two sets of PJs for £3 so he is looking very smart. I have thrown away most of the pink stuff as it is ruined by his creams. The new stuff is all non-pink.

MM do not worry about the changes re car seats. You will not get fined, but keep M rear facing as long as you can. And as a 21yo you are hardly representative of the majority.

TheDetective · 25/07/2013 19:15

PR to be quite honest, there is no 'easier' ward to be on in terms of physical activity. Its all lots of lifting, bending, pushing etc. I'll be on labour ward when I go back. I think that LW would probably be the worst though so I am going to discuss the options.

VQ it surprised me as she does know better really. But hope this is a one off. If not I have no hesitation at using a CM. I'm not having O so unhappy and in pain needlessly. :(

StuntNun · 25/07/2013 19:44

Why is J having three to four dirty nappies a day? Along with the three wake ups a night I feel like I still have a newborn. Please can I have a break please? I was hoping for a decent night's sleep last night and we were up six times. Seriously I have had fucking enough.

OP posts:
Passmethecrisps · 25/07/2013 19:45

Cheese? Was it a genuine slip or is she a bit Hmm about the CMPI? I know I have to watch my MIL like a hawk - not because she would do anything deliberate but she just gets overexcited.

Happy 9 month birthday valiumprince! More teeth? He's going to have a full set in no time.

Lily311 · 25/07/2013 19:46

O still has 3-4 poos. She never had less.

StuntNun · 25/07/2013 19:51

I'm drunk. A second bottle of wine has been opened. DH is doing the next feed with a bottle. Today was not a good day.

OP posts:
Jims · 25/07/2013 19:52

stunt teeth bring on more poos and wakeups. Might it be that?

det sorry your work is rubbish. Funnily enough my early walking ds1 was 3 weeks late originally. Maybe they do some developing inside?!

YellowWellies · 25/07/2013 19:59

Detective my MIL would soooo do that Shock Shock Shock next time (and I fear they can't help themselves as they're convinced its made up or something they'll grow out of if fed lots of dairy by Grandma Blush) drive O over there to show her the pain SHE has caused.

MM you're not a typical 21 year old but I bet at 25 you'll still facepalm at your 21 year old self - it's like looking back at yourself as a teenager. And, like that, you don't believe it until it's you going - "what was I thinking?! he was such a weapon! why did I do that to my hair" etc Grin

Proper mumping, Velcro separation anxiety / teeth / god knows what bear today. Mummy's arms, lap, chest, are the only places to be and if he can grab my hair and pull me in for big open mouthed snogs (he looks like Jaws the shark lunging at me) then that is THE BEST FUN EVER. Envy which is cute other than when he's wearing dinner. Seeing my sister and her MIL had him weeping today - he's not met M's MIL before and he bawled whenever she smiled at him Sad . Pretty sure we have had hiya, daddad and mumum used in the right context though Smile . Mumumum is used when wanting a cuddle.

The nursery came across pretty well. I think I need to see a few to compare them. It's pretty small - he'd be one of only four 1-2 year olds with 2 nursery nurses to look after the group. They seemed to have a good selection of toys, a nice garden, a separate sleep room. They're used to dealing with food intolerances and its less than 4 minutes walk from our front door (timed it - I'm always late!).

YellowWellies · 25/07/2013 20:03

Stunt drink it outside so you don't hear any fuss when he does the bottle. They'll both be fine. I hope you are too. Jonas does 3 or 4 poos a day usually just as we've got dressed / are about to leave the house / on a bus miles away from anywhere to change him. He has the bowels of the devil Angry and sarcastic timing.

TheDetective · 25/07/2013 21:11

We have 3 poos a day too Stunt. We did have one a day til weaning began. Now it is 3 Hmm.

Sounds like lots of us have had horrible days then today?

I'm waiting for the takeaway to arrive Grin.

YW I find it really hard to enjoy the clingyness in this weather. I'm a naturally warm person, and I'm so hot and sticky right now, and so is O - he's always sweating no matter what he has on. Skin on skin is unbearable right now. So cuddling just gets me even hotter and sweatier, and I feel so minging and horrid. It either needs to cool the fuck down, and now! Or O needs to time his clingy days a damn sight better!

I won't even hug DP when it is humid/hot. We are both very hot people - he is worse though. So O didn't stand a chance really!!

I think we need to move to somewhere very friggin' cold!!

TheDetective · 25/07/2013 21:18

Pass I think it was a genuine slip. She does believe he has it, but I don't think she realises that even a tiny bit can cause this level of effect. I think she thinks that he would have to drink a full bottle of milk, or eat a whole meal with cheese in or something.

Hopefully she gets it more now.

To be honest, I know why she is like this - it's SIL's fault really. I'm not sure if I've mentioned what she is like on the thread. But basically, her 14 month old was on LF milk from weeks old. So she thinks he is lactose intolerant, yet she constantly gives him stuff with lactose in it - she doesn't even know what to look for in the ingredients. One day MIL licked part of a fab lolly off then gave it to him, and said 'I've got rid of the bit that had milk on'. The thing is though, she's seen SIL do the same... Hmm

Basically, SIL isn't the brightest button in the box, and MIL just does what she does.

I've told SIL things but it is like talking to a brick wall. MIL should be okay with some more information.

Kyzordz · 25/07/2013 21:19

evening all!

det sounds like it's been another one of those days! Hope he sleeps tonight and wakes up happier tomorrow! Sounds like the cheese is the culprit. I hope your MIL doesn't let him have things he shouldn't in future, it's not fair on him to suffer :( I don't know how you manage with o btw, he's such a mover! Eric can barely crawl and i'm already screwed :s can't put him anywhere! Your work are really being cunts aren't they, I hope they are accommodating when it comes to your RTW.

clarella that's brill that g went to sleep without feeding to sleep!

glad the napping was successful jims

stunt is it perhaps because he's started solids? E doesn't have a regular pattern anymore and I get up to 3 dirty nappies a day but his poo is more solid and there isn't a huge amount each time. What are J's nappies like? I hope you have a better day tomorrow, bless you.

vq hope his tooth comes through soon if that's what it is causing him to have a rash etc. Happy 9 month birthday valiumprince!

sounds like the bear has had a bad day too yw hopefully a better day for you too tomorrow!

Sounds like lots of bad days today. Not much of a thankful thursday then :( Well I am thankful that E ate a little better today than yesterday. That's all I can think of at the minute!

Evilwater · 25/07/2013 21:24

Stunt N can do loads of poo one day and then the next none. I wouldn't worry.
det I still can't believe your work is being crazy, I hope the union can sort things out.
yellow glad to read that the nursey that you saw is good.
MM thanks for the car seat info.
big I hope things are ok with you

If I've missed anyone out I'm sorry. Thanks for the info about the peas. I'm off to work tomorrow and Saturday for 12.5 hours Sad so I won't be able to catch up on the thread. The grinding thing is I only get paid for 11.5 hours. Angry

N has been wonderful again, bursting full of energy again Grin he's so wonderful. Nite all, sleepy dust to all.

Evil

ValiumQueen · 25/07/2013 21:29

Totally forgot about thankful Thursday. Oops.

Have had a splitting headache most of the day and have finally taken something for it. Still up with J. DH already in bed so I have the remote.

Totally forgot what I was going to say...

MissMummy1 · 25/07/2013 21:31

Repeats to self: must not be an oversensitive twat, must not be an oversensitive twat, must not be an oversensitive twat....

Matilda is still awake. Need I say anymore? She has also just managed to dig my phone out from my changing bag and phone my mum...

If I remember correctly, more poo than normal was a sign teefs were en route?

Hugs PR - I know how you feel about the SAHM business. My irritability at the lack of routine is the reason I went back to work (very) part time when M was 10 weeks. I knew I wouldn't be able to hack staying at home full time, I think it takes a very special person to be able to do it. DP thinks he will be a wonderful SAHD. Indeed, the man reckons he is going to take on a house renovation project and do full time childcare when I go back to work - I choked on my tea at this: he can barely load the dishwasher and amuse M Hmm . I digress, I am sure you will feel much better when they are in nursery and you can enjoy the time you have with them knowing you will soon get a break!!

VQ your cheery post has had me smiling all evening - I am delighted things are starting to look more positive! And can't wait for a catch up when you're ready xox

ValiumQueen · 25/07/2013 21:31

Oh yes, poo. Mostly one a day when on gaviscon but has done about six today which makes me think teeth. They have burned his bum too.

Stunt (((hug)))

PetiteRaleuse · 25/07/2013 21:31

det I hope I didn't offend? Over here the labour ward is the easiest as almost everyone has an epidural (and constant monitoring to a hub, so mws pop in from time to time to have a rummage) and the ob gyn is called in at birth time. So was basing 'easier than postnatal' on my experience. Sorry.

Half past ten and DD1 is looking for her comforter. It's over next door's fence. When will she learn?

Yes vq ads might help. But I can't get to the gp because of dh's work...

PetiteRaleuse · 25/07/2013 21:32

Thankful to have got through the day.

Fucking Friday tomorrow peeps?

Kyzordz · 25/07/2013 21:34

oh look at all the posts that were written whilst i was posting!

ValiumQueen · 25/07/2013 21:34

MM Smile yes today started well..... I guess I will be a bit up and down, but I am delighted to have had a really bright spell. The early morning shag helped a bit too Wink You need to grab what you can when there are three kids in the house. I was chuffed I was actually in the mood as it has been the last thing on my mind for many many months.

Elizadoesdolittle · 25/07/2013 21:38

Evening all

We are off to a wedding tomorrow and the in laws are having the DD's over night. They are picking them up at 12pm and we will be collecting them before lunch on Saturday. They are very used to having DD1 overnight but will be the first time they have had E overnight. In fact it's the first time they've looked after both girls at the same time so it's going to be interesting. I'm really looking forward to the wedding but also a bit apprehensive. When DH had them by himself all was well so am hoping for the same.

detective sorry about your work palavour and wow for O.

pr loved your count down to nursery time.

vq Happy 9 month birthday to J.

izzy If you're lurking I hope you're ok. Am thinking of you x

Kyzordz · 25/07/2013 21:39

glad you've had a good day with N evil :)

Hope M goes to sleep soon mm1!
