Afternoon!
We had a lovely weekend away although it was ridiculously hot and the city centre was so busy. Great to catch up though.
I'm feeling lousy today, my hayfever is awful but not sure if its turned in to a cold or sinusitis or if its just the hayfever making me feel shit. Could do with just sitting and doing nothing today but M is I'm to everything so I've not stopped. Now cuddled up in bed together as she wouldn't go down ok the cot.

Are we having the northern meet up tomorrow still? I've been googling soft plays.

Off to catch up on the thread

Oh blimey! In my wisdom I decided to pop P down for her nap and see if she could self settle. A poo just after being left can't have helped but 15 minutes in she was a hysterical snottery mess. Cooried right in when I picked her up but sobbed proper distressed sobs.

Hmm.

I had a feel in her mouth bry and I can't feel anything in particular. I feel like she has been on the edge of teeth for months!

She also pretty much refused lunch apart from a couple of rice cakes.

Looks like we are set for another great night

Sophiathesnowfairy · 15/07/2013 14:07

Do you know what chasing good for you. I think is more than a sofa, is you making your own choices for your life. I am jumping up and down for you. Brilliant. A fucking white fucking sofa! Grin

pass what about giving her a snack after her milk like toast or something? It could just be a phase, the sudden warm weather and lighter nights, but she may be hungry. Trial and error is the only way with babies I have learned.

Just been out and bought a mahoosive role of bubble wrap and some boxes. Huzzah.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 15/07/2013 14:10

Or...just reading your last post...sounds like she is on her way down with something. Often you never know how poorly they are till suddenly they go back to normal and all becomes clear.

O suddenly got back to himself only yesterday, his old smile back and cheeky ways, so that was over two weeks worth of pox related stuff I think.

ValiumQueen · 15/07/2013 14:19

Pass have you checked her temperature? I am inclined to think teeth if no temperature.

Went to Dr today. Thrush apparently. I think not. I think infection (my tongue) but if no better on Thursday I am to go back for antibiotics. Nystatin does not taste as nice as it used to.

J slept from 10 until 8. Shame I didn't due to pain in my mouth, neck and ear. Thrush my arse!

J has been on Domperidone for 3 days now. I am not crediting his improvement to that in isolation. He is well at the moment, and it is much cooler. Time will tell I guess.

After your suggestion Kyz I decided to let him have some dairy free yoghurt. He loves you for that, as do I.

Chasing, good on you for ignoring everyone and getting a white sofa because you wanted to! We have two Ektorp in brown leather. Good for shit and chocolate.

Izzy and Stunt sorry you are not getting any respite.

Apologies if I have missed anyone out x

Growth spurt central here. LO has gone from eating half a pot of food every meal to a full pot pretty much suddenly in the last week. Her milk intake has suddenly increased too. She also seems to have suddenly got older iyswim, is developing a sense of humour that isn't just based on us making her laugh but she is doing things to make us laugh (or pretend to, because, let's face it, she's 9mo and doesn't have an overly developed wit yet).

No words yet but DD1 didn't say anything much until about 18 months, then took ages to go from one or two words to the chatterbox she is now. And even now a good half of what she says is incomprehensible. But she knows how to make herself understood when she needs to. Luckily the paed is in Lux where all children are pretty much bilingual from birth so she knows it takes a little longer. I was chatting to a neighbour a few weeks ago whose son is about the same age and her paed (in France) is already muttering about speech therapy because her boy isn't making long enough sentences. I hate box ticking HCPs. Obviously sometimes there are issues but children don't follow the bloody guidelines. My DB was hardly speaking when he went to primary school but speaks more than perfectly fine now, was a grade A student etc etc. In France they'd have had him in therapy at two? What's the point? Unless there are other signs pointing to a problem?

Ysterday's neighbour's kid came round a little earlier. Was wondering when we could start his English lessons. I was vaguely aware that it had been discussed in my presence yesterday, and I had agreed to take him for walks with the dog so he could practice. But it seems to have morphed overnight into proper lessons. Hmm. Hope that wasn't the motive behind our sudden invitation because I CHARGE for English lessons, and it's hard to suddenly talk about asking for money when you've been fed lovely food and wine all afternoon. Anyway, will see. Have said we can start the weekend after next.

Passmethecrisps · 15/07/2013 14:28

Yup chasing! sophia's post kind of rammed that home for me actually. You are building your new world - white sofa by white sofa! Tell me you are going to get some twinkly lights!

Actually, sophia and VQ when p was on my knee before going up for a snooze I did wonder if she felt quite warm. She is still asleep so I am going to leave her too it. I can't believe the state she got into. I will take her temp when she wakes up.

PetiteRaleuse · 15/07/2013 14:30

chasing if O is a good boy and eats only at table then your white sofa will be fine. In my house it would be a nightmare with the bloody animals and the fact DD1 ignores me and does what the fuck she wants when I am otherwise busy. We chucked our old sofa out last year and replaced it with a plastic false leather thing which can be wiped clean and was so cheap that the kids and pets can bloody eat it for all I care (and they try, well, the pets do) and in five years when the children are older and the dog is too old to get on the sofa (or has possibly, at last, learned the meaning of 'get off the fucking sofa') I will buy myself my dream sofa.

Passmethecrisps · 15/07/2013 14:32

Oh and VQ I am glad that J seems to be getting better. Does the doc reckon the thrush is caused by the antibiotics? My doc once reckoned I was getting recurrent throat infections because of thrush due to taking my inhaler. He recommended gargling water after taking it.

Nystatin is weird stuff. It smells like marzipan but claims to be cherry flavoured. My MIL insisted for quite some time that P's reflux was caused by the nystatin!

ChasingDaisy · 15/07/2013 14:46

Yes pass, twinkly lights will be bought. And an ultra pretty bedside lamp.

ChasingDaisy · 15/07/2013 14:59

Oh and I fixed my dad's printer today. Useless men.

Bryzoan · 15/07/2013 15:08

Chasing that sounds lovely. You've really made me smile Smile

Passmethecrisps · 15/07/2013 15:08

Good job.

Temp taken. 35.8 under arm. Teeth?

ChasingDaisy · 15/07/2013 15:24

I wish it made me smile.

pass my guess would be teeth. Hot weather bothering her? Starts of separation anxiety?

izzybizzybuzzybees · 15/07/2013 16:09

I'd think teeth too pass

Haggis meet still going ahead tomorrow? Can we pin down a time and a place?

Pikz · 15/07/2013 16:27

Chasing lots of fairy lights... Loads...

fruitpastilles · 15/07/2013 16:39

We have a crawler Smile

PurplePidjin · 15/07/2013 16:43

fruit hurrah! Do it! Let me know if you want suggestions :o

PurplePidjin · 15/07/2013 16:56

There once was a quichester called Izzy
Who always was kept very busy
Of sleep she had none
Due to shouting, not fun
To survive she drank drinks that were fizzy.

PetiteRaleuse · 15/07/2013 17:02

:o

Sophiathesnowfairy · 15/07/2013 17:11

Avocado and bacon soup. Yum yum yum.

Bryzoan · 15/07/2013 17:20

There once was a quichester called chasing
Who sadly some troubles was facing
But she went to ikea
To bannish her fear
And her quiche friends think she is amazing

Bryzoan · 15/07/2013 17:24

There was a young quichester pr
Who vocationally will go quite far
Her boss was a ***
who never would thank her
But the quiche knows that she is a star

Smile I like this game.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 15/07/2013 18:33

My mum and dad took the kids for me. J was fed at 8am and I sent bottles. The wee pest wouldn't want again, he got brought home at 6.15pm and hadn't fed. So has went over ten hours without a feed!!! He's been perfectly happy the whole time, mum tried him with bottle but he wouldn't drink! Now if he could do ten hours between feeds at night and sleep during that time I'd be laughing!

MissMummy1 · 15/07/2013 18:41

Is it possible he is turning night into day izzy - I find (esp when she was bf) that if M doesnt eat/drink enough during the day, we have horrible nights. Just a thought.

Yay for furniture chasing Grin

We had a lovely day. Didnt make it to the botanic gardens but had lots of fun exploring the museum. I haven't been for years. Our day ended though when the fire alarm went off and we got turfed out Sad . Note to self: bugaboos are extremely heavy once you have carried them down 7 flights of stairs Confused

Looking forward to tomorrow's quiche meet Grin
