Didn't bother to keep posting at each and every fucking bollocking wakeup. Was getting a bit depressing with the fact it was just me, then me oh and me again!

bryz our next paeds appt isn't until late October. We do have community nurses coming put most weeks to 'encourage' J to eat, yet so far they haven't done much except play stupidly with him on the floor! Have a break from them this week and two of them will be back next week. They talked about getting him a funded nursery place to firstly give me a break a d secondly they think him seeing his peers eat may help him too. Will see if that transpires though. The problem is it'd need to be a day E is at nursery or I'd still not get a rest!

I didn't get any sleep til about 5.40am and then both kids were up at 8am!!

fruitpastilles · 15/07/2013 09:10

That's a possibility pp just ad a look and you're only about 3 hours away!

fruitpastilles · 15/07/2013 09:24

*had a look

TheDetective · 15/07/2013 10:05

Fruit makes no difference what time O goes down either. To be honest usually the later he goes the earlier he is up! Anything between 6-8am can be morning here Confused

I went to bed when O did last night too much sun! around 8.30 (we were at MILs so back late). I heard O cry before DP had come to bed but apparently he self settled. Then he woke at 4.30 and up at 7.45 which is pretty damn good. Especially as DP got up at 4.30. The bad part is I was then awake til 6 as I'd probably had 'enough' sleep. And it took me ages to get him out of bed grrrr. But I can't moan. Other than at DP! I feel better for an early night.

Gave O 'pink porridge' this morning! He loved it! Raspberries chucked in and blended!

O has been crawling about like a wind up toy this morning! And the best bit is, he has been crawling to me and then sitting arms outstretched for me to pick him up! Finally!!!! Grin Best feeling ever!

MissMummy1 · 15/07/2013 10:10

Sorry for shit nights. Brew Brew Brew Izzy

M was up 6 times between 11pm and our start to the day at 5.45am. We were able to tag team her though so don't feel like I can whinge.

Today we are planning a day out for £15. Train into edinburgh expensive bit but cheaper than driving/parking), mooch round the museum, tesco vouchers for lunch and a wander round the botanic gardens. We are both in desperate need of a day out. In the past would have spent £££ on fancy meals and attractions and parking so this will be a real test. I am very much looking forward fo it!

fruitpastilles · 15/07/2013 10:15

Aww det I can't wait till S does that Smile

Sounds like you will have a lovely day mm sometime I find the best days are ones where we don't spend lots of £££, that was when it was just me and dp, we've yet to have a proper day out somewhere with S together, so I'm really looking forward to his few days off.

Donnadoon · 15/07/2013 10:16

Thanks sophia we will be going in October so hopefully cooler then Grin glad you enjoyed it.

Kyzordz · 15/07/2013 10:20

morning all, wish it was sweary weds!

stunt poor j, at least you know to definitely avoid them in future!

izzy what a shocker of a night, you must be bloody exhausted :( it also really makes me aporeciate e's sleep lily. bry yours doesn't sound like much fun either, or yours mm :( Brew for the wank nights

definitely sounds like its worth waiting then sophia

yesterday sounded nice pr

fruit e went to bed at nearly 8 because he woke up late and still woke up at 7:15 which is the same time as he wakes when he goes to bed at 7 usually

aww det thats lovely :)

e wouldn't eat breakfast this morning. again. milk is still more important isn't it? he has a bottle first thing, he won't stop halfway through, and he prefers breakfast made with cows milk. he must not be hungry after an 8oz bottle because he wasn't interested in an organix pot either. if I tried breakfast first its likely he wouldn't drink 20oz a day and I thought he was sposed to do that. do I just keep doing as I am or change something? argh

Passmethecrisps · 15/07/2013 10:23

Thanks for that pr! Grin

izzy you put my night into perspective for sure. Whatever everyone else decides tomorrow let's make sure we meet.

My AF is still a bit mental YW and I have had it back since about late December I think.

A few days away sounds lovely fruit

I need a bit of quiche pondering. The last 3 nights P has been very unsettled. First night she woke for her dummy every hour. Second she woke at about 1:30 and was awake for over 1.5 hours. Last night the same but longer.

She wakes, seems to resettle with her dummy but is awake again sometimes within minutes and sometimes maybe half an hour. I can rock her until se is soundly asleep but she doesn't seem to be staying asleep once down. When I watch her she flips and rolls and squirms and wriggles and seems to either wake herself up or moans and wails in frustration. She isn't crying fully just moaning and wailing.

About 4 days ago a decided to shift her bottles which resulted offering 4 bottles rather than 5. Quantity wise she is taking roughly the same as usual but over 4 bottles (maybe slightly less but one or two oz) and she is generally eating 3 proper meals a day.

Her meals are:
Brekkie About a table spoon of cereal with oat milk plus toast.
Lunch: 3 or 4 ice cubes of something. E.g chicken, sweet potato and peas. Fruit
Dinner: same as lunch

She always drains her bedtime bottle.

She doesn't seem in pain. I thought she was mega itchy so I tried piriton but it made no difference at all.

I tried giving her some water in case she was thirsty. Made no difference.

Sorry for the essay and I am genuinely sorry to those who have much worse nights every single night. I am not exhausted. I am mildly knackered but more Confused about why my good sleeper is struggling.

fruitpastilles · 15/07/2013 10:28

pass S has been the same the past few nights, I've just put it down to the heat, although its mega hot she will not sleep unless in her sleeping bag and with a fleecy blanket that she wraps around her head to go to sleep (I always move it once she's asleep) she ends up with it at least on her arm though. Sorry I know I've not given any advice at all.

kyz how soon after the bottle do you give e his breakfast? S has a bottle in the morning and her breakfast is an hour to an hour and a half after, any sooner and she doesn't eat it.

fruitpastilles · 15/07/2013 10:29

I've just put dp's bank card through the wash....... I hope it still works!

Pikz · 15/07/2013 10:30

Pass we have a little bit of flipping about and whining. It doesn't last long so I am ignoring it and he does self settle.

We have also dropped bottles but had to up the bedtime one to 10oz or he cries for more food!!

Izzy and Bry I am so sorry for shore nights.

Also doesn't matter what time he goes down here either. Still wakes between 6 and 7.30 every day.

I don't want to jinx it but he's been having an hour and a quarter nap so far!!!

Passmethecrisps · 15/07/2013 10:30

Oh cross post mm. Now I feel really shit! Enjoy your day out - I bet you will have a lovely time. If the weather in edin is like here you will probably find the botanic garden is relatively quiet.

I love that det. P has just started responding to her name so crawls madly towards me when I call her. Fab

kyz we also had a refused brekkie this morning. I can't blame too much milk though. Weird.

Pikz · 15/07/2013 10:31

Kzy we give brekie first using some of the morning bottle to make it and then he tends to drink the remaining 3/4oz after his brekie.

Passmethecrisps · 15/07/2013 10:34

No self-settling here pikz. If I leave her she starts to properly cry.

I might have thought heat previously fruit but it was 22 degrees in her room last night. She was wearing loose jammies and a 1 tog sleeping bag. She didn't seem over warm at all.

ValiumQueen · 15/07/2013 10:43

Just catching up but have to say...

CHASING DO NOT GET A WHITE COTTON SOFA WITH A YOUNG CHILD! I would recommend trying local FB pages and get something second hand preferably in leather and save the white for much later.

As you were Smile

YellowWellies · 15/07/2013 10:53

MM sounds awesome! I love the portrait exhibition out at the museum of modern art at Ravelston - totally free. The botanics is wicked too.

YellowWellies · 15/07/2013 10:56

Chasing what VQ said - we got the ektorp in green after having a cream cover for it when we lived on the island. Soot from the Rayburn ruined it (washable my arse) in cream. My sis got a leather suite on Freecycle years ago - its been perfect for kids.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 15/07/2013 11:01

mm that sounds like great fun. Have a good day.

DH has whisked the boys over to Costa with an order from me for an iced tea, so I can work in peace at home. Hmm ahem.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 15/07/2013 11:02

chasing I know what they are saying about white sofa is right but I am so totally with you are the girly theme. I would do EXACtLY the same.

Off to mooch on ikea website!

Kyzordz · 15/07/2013 11:30

pass I have no idea unless its teeth if it's not heat? :/

fruit he has it about an hour to an hour and a half after too, he sometimes eats it all, sometimes won't touch it, but usually eats fruit if nothing else. I just can't see him eating breakfast before the bottle, but I could try it I suppose. his milk is anti reflux milk and when I tried to make baby rice with it ages ago it was just too gloopy as the milk is really thick. just trying to avoid him going below 20oz I guess! mum said what about doing bottle and breakfast at the same time and see what he does then but I think he'll just drain the bottle as usual! he often moans when he drains the bottle suggesting he is still hungry but the hv reckoned 8oz in a bottle was the limit and I'd rather he ate some actual food breakfast too than more milk!

perhaps it's too warm for brekkie today pass who knows??

fruitpastilles · 15/07/2013 11:46

Yep kyz s has the anti reflux milk too, when I first started giving her cereal I bought the cartons of ready made normal formula to make up hers with, but it's far to expensive to be buying those and her anti reflux milk just to make cereal so I quickly stopped that.

ChasingDaisy · 15/07/2013 11:55

Just left Ikea. Have decided on the Ektorp in a very un-child friendly colour. I may live to regret it but I don't care. Getting the white, metal framed girly bed and bought some pretty duvet covers, pink throws, decided on some dining chair & bought some pink and purple tumblers. Also bought O the £1 bear. Best. Thing. Ever. He laughed at it so much he now has hiccups. Although stepmum cut the label off, despite me asking her not to Angry That's Oscar's favourite part of any toy. We then shared a croissant.

I think my little boy is coming down with something, he's whingy, off his food and has a runny nose.

He has however, started wailing mumum when he is upset and also says mama Smile

Bryzoan · 15/07/2013 12:13

That is lovely chasing! R has about 15 words now at age 3 and mama still isn't one of them. Am very jealous but also very happy for you. Sounds like a successful ikea trip all round except for the label, but hey ho... Sorry o is comng down with something though.

Izzy - that all doesn't sound right to me... Between the eating and sleeping I'd be asking for an earlier paeds appt and a salt referral. Community nurses playing on the floor does not sound sufficient? Hope you are able to get that break - I really feel for you at the mo.

Have a great day mm - sounds wonderful.

Bryzoan · 15/07/2013 12:16

Pass - have you tried feeling her guns for swelling? After last night's antics g has a new tooth.
