I get migraines with the combined pill too. I'm on cerazette (or should be I keep forgetting to take it!). The coil made me bleed for six months and I think the injection took me a whole to settle down. Once you're after something more permanent I would definitely recommend the injection I found it great and no periods.

It's funny how dp has been home Kate every night for about a month apart from when football training is on Hmm

WillYouDoTheFandango · 24/07/2013 18:50

I'm in cerazette again now too spotty.

And snap on the DP, walked in at 4:30 had shower out by 5:02. Awesome

IsThatTrue · 24/07/2013 19:25

willyou I hope that settles down soon! Poor you!

I will not mention I haven't had a period since feb '12

The young boy was awful last night. He woke at 12, 2, 4, and was up for the day at 6. Main problem being he was awake for at least an hour each time! I handed him to DH at 6 who took him downstairs for breakfast so I could sleep for an hour. Funnily enough he slept from 11.30-2 when I had to wake him to do the school run as the big kids broke up today. We spent the afternoon at a lovely park with lots of friends from school. Ds2 merrily commandoed around, until he found someone he wanted to see and he'd crawl into their lap and moan until they picked him up! Couldn't give a rats arse where I was! Lol

I am knackered now though, well and Truely knackered!

Oh I passed my first module of my diploma with no advisories Grin

IsThat sounds like he's super cheeky! Ds is pretty attached to me atm, I've really noticed it in the past couple of weeks, I'm hoping its just a phase

WillYouDoTheFandango · 24/07/2013 19:47

Oops double post!

I figure I'm paying my dues IsThat as before ttc i hadn't had a period since dec '04! I hope cerazette does that to me again.

Sorry about your awful night IsThat. Any reason for it?

We've got tooth 3 today, our second in 2 days. Definitely earned them last week though.

WLmum · 24/07/2013 20:32

Well done spotty that's great news.
I bumped into someone I used to work with today who's also on mat leave - I shamelessly said if you need anyone p/t let me know etc.
rather annoyingly T was asleep after a long noob while I was reading with dd1 then I realised I hadn't changed her nappy - no way the cloth would have held out so I had to change her and wake her right up. As I was part way through dd1s reading I couldn't push the settling so am just feeding to sleep again and I'm so hungry!

WLmum · 24/07/2013 20:33

Oooh Alexander as a middle name - I didn't too badly! Oddly George was my second bet !

MaMaPo · 24/07/2013 21:20

Willyou, poor thing! I'm on Cerazette - actually, a similar one that I just started. Whatever they are, they give me lots of spots. :( Hormones don't seem to affect my moods too much (the baby blues at day 3-5 excepted!), they just ruin my skin. Feel all horrid.

Congrats on new tooth though!

Lovely day in the park with lots of work friends and their babies today. C napped 9-11 in the morning, then snatched 20 mins at 4pm. Luckily went down OK for bedtime but I anticipate an overtired baby leading to an early wake. Just hoping she doesn't want to play in the middle of the night again.

Been looking for baby cinema sessions - really want to see both Alpha Papa and The World's End! Love to see them with my husband, and C would stay asleep if we caught an 8pm session, but it's just organising babysitting...

I wish they'd called the new royal baby Arthur or Alfred. I can only think of this when I think of Prince George: www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/content/images/2007/02/14/ink_396x222.jpg

PrunellaDeVille · 24/07/2013 21:30

nutella - D's is 7.5, only just starting to crawl (of sorts) but he's been a constant wriggler, kicker, roller, jumper. he does eventually wear himself out by 9.15 each day but then I have managed to persuade him to be a late riser - 8am most mornings Blush

wow will you, that's epic. if it were me I'd be tempted to TTC again just to make it stop Grin

really miserable boy today, he's so constipated Sad , he's been straining with all his might until he can't take anymore and bursts into tears. I was so proud of him for each of the tiny solid walnut whips he's managed to lay Confused
feeling guilty now for his diet not being good enough. I try him on a good healthy selection of stuff but he'll only take what he fancies. have found he loves prunes though so that should help

WillYouDoTheFandango · 24/07/2013 21:31

Well done Spotty.

Yes mama but he will have the most fabulous trousers!

I love the name Alexander. It's one of a huge list of names that DP vetoed for unspecified reasons. I also like George. DP likes very few boys names. He wanted Jack not Jamie and has said if we have another boy we'll be using that hopefully he'll cave after labour like he did this time. Confused I think they're waaaay too similar though.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 24/07/2013 21:35

Don't tempt me Prunella, I am the world's broodiest person at the minute!

I never thought I'd be happy to see a dirty nappy but after the first night of awful sleep as DS was in pain from being constipated I prayed for poo with every change. I actually photographed his full to bursting nappy for DP as I was so chuffed! Hope he feels better soon.

PrunellaDeVille · 24/07/2013 22:27

that'll be a photo for his 18th birthday Willyou Grin

WLmum · 24/07/2013 22:58

It is impossible to get to bed before 11pm. Ridiculous. Every bloody night - why can't the elves come and do all the chores/paperwork/general stuff that needs doing?

utopian99 · 24/07/2013 23:52

Ds has been having an exciting day with his gm and great gm, and fell asleep suddenly at 8, 1.5hrs earlier than usual since thehot weather started. He and dh are both sleeping happily but for no apparent reason I am wide awake.. Hmm

WL we were wondering about next stage car seats as ds is well over 20lbs and 75cm; his feet stick out of the end of the car seat andget wedged up against the seat back and his head is v close to the top. I've asked before but what group 1 seat do people recommend?

Also pidj, do you run a sling library these days? Am getting a bit carried away but now have a size 4, 5, and 6 to come - can you recommend a comfy/easy back carry to start with? Have been front only so far but he does love to nose around..

halestone · 25/07/2013 00:29

Oh i forgot to say yesterday we've been in the next size car seat for about 2 months. H prefers it as she can see us now whilst throwing her toys around the back of the car. We got it for £25 in the asda baby event.

OP posts:
halestone · 25/07/2013 00:30

I only moved her into it so early as she stopped fitting into her old car sit both in length and width.

PurplePidjin · 25/07/2013 00:54

I do a ruck then tie knotless, Utopian. Google your local sling consultant though, most run workshops and do home visits for a small fee :)

SpottyTeacakes · 25/07/2013 05:49

Eugh 5am wake up. No chance of him going back to sleep Sad oh well dd's at MIL's today so I can have a nap Grin

Dd has a maxi cosi tobi and I'm likely to get ds the same one. I thought they were outgrown when their ears reached the top? Ds's straps are still on the bottom setting in his seat so think it'll be a whole before he's too big for it!

Barbeasty · 25/07/2013 07:53

I think you're meant to keep them rear facing until at least 9 months, because their necks just aren't strong enough to forward face, even if you aren't keeping them rear facing for longer.

Yes Spotty, it's when their ears reach the top of the seat or when they reach the maximum weight, ideally.

I'm looking for A to stay in his seat for as long as possible, and at least until he's 1, so that I don't have to move DD into a booster too soon. At least his slower growth means that should be possible!

Utopian an extended rear facing seat is safest, but they are extortionate. Especially when the insurance company doesn't pay to replace it after an accident < bitter emoticon >. Have a look on the car seat board in products, there's loads of info and suggestions on there. Take Which reviews with a pinch of salt though. They focus more on how easily the cover comes off than safety, and assume everyone is an idiot who can't follow basic instructions.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/07/2013 08:17

I put ds down for his nap after two hours as always and hasn't even slept for an hour. He usually does two and he's so grumpy Angry

That's what I thought Barbeasty. Dd won't be ready for the next one for another year I shouldn't think although her spare one is a 9 month to 11 years one it's just not as safe as the tobi so I don't think I'd be comfortable using it as her permanent one just to save a bit of money. I would definitely go with an ERF if I could afford it.

WLmum · 25/07/2013 08:43

Mothercare told me that its when their heads reach the top! Agree that staying in the stage 0 for as long as possible is safest but they can go in the next stage up when they can sit independently for 30 mins rather than age, and of course when they are heavy enough. I'd sec

WLmum · 25/07/2013 08:46

Oops! I'd second the maxi cosi Toby as a good safe seat, we've got one in dms car as it was the best fit but we've got a different maxi cosi in ours. Our local mothercare are super helpful and when we changed out car they checked all the seats fitted well together in all the combinations as the dds grew.

FriendofDorothy · 25/07/2013 08:48

The Little Mister slept from 10.30pm - 5.30am in his cot (I woke before he did so had to go and check he was still breathing!), woke for a feed in our bed and went back to sleep until 6.45am. I was able to get up, shower, get dressed, hang the washing out etc etc. Amazing stuff! Especially as I had to do everything myself as The Mister was on night shift last night.

SpottyTeacakes · 25/07/2013 09:06

I love our bin men. We forgot to put the bin out so they opened our gate, walked round the side of our house and got it Grin

FoD that's great Smile
