We're up here. First bottle of the day refused Hmm. It's going to be another one of those days isn't it? He took 5o at 8pm and 5 at 11. Not really enough (should be 20pz milk per day) but something at least and his nappy is wet this morning.

Barbeasty · 20/07/2013 07:34

We're up, bathed, and trying to stop DD bashing away on the piano whilst singing nursery rhymes. Apparently it had to be loud enough that her cousin (at MIL's half a mile away) could hear.

I know my brother didn't want to tell anyone about their pregnancy, but decided to tell family because SIL was signed off work with sickness and they didn't want her boss to find out first!

I got picked to test rapeseed oil, and went to use my Sainsbury's voucher yesterday. I
had both DC in a child trolley, but only 10 things to buy. It was really busy and I didn't want to queue behind 3 full trolleys, and I didn't know how to use the voucher at the self service till. So I decided to use the basket till. As I put stuff out the lady on the till looked up and said "this is for baskets only". Without thinking is said "yes, but I only have 10 items, and I couldn't fit both children in a basket"

She gave me a look and was about to argue, when the customer in front of me (who'd packed more into her basket!) started to agree that you didn't want to struggle with 2 dc and a basket in this heat, and weren't they well behaved etc. Took the wind out of her sails!

Managed to get DD the most impractical white dress though, and had to get A some dungarees, as nursery must currently have 2 pairs of trousers and a t-shirt in his basket. He only has 3 pairs!

Well done beasty great response. Miserable old bat.

WLmum · 20/07/2013 09:19

We are so lucky to have our healthy babies in our arms.

SpottyTeacakes · 20/07/2013 09:24

I've just woken up after a nearly two hour nap, ds is still asleep!

Barbeasty great come back! Silly woman.

halestone · 20/07/2013 11:30

I've had a mc previously and bled significantly twice during early pregnancy and was told it was likely that the pregnancy would be another mc. Luckily it wasn't and i was blessed with H. However once i got to 13 weeks and still had severe morning sickness we decided to tell people. When i went into work my supervisor who had ttc for some time who knew i was pregnant told me she was pregnant also. I told her i was telling everyone that night so she told everyone also, she was only 5 weeks. At her 12 week scan they found that her baby had Turner syndrome and wasn't likely to survive the pregnancy. She took some time off work after losing her LO but asked everyone in work not to mention her pregnancy when she came back. I remember just feeling very guilty that i was pregnant and she wasn't. I feel very lucky and blessed to have ended up with a baby let alone a healthy happy baby and can't imagine the pain of losing one. My mc was hard enough i don't think i could go through a late loss.

Beasty good come back, some people should just use their common sense.

Spotty i hope your all nit free i itched all day after reading that yesterday and Congratulations to DD on having a good sports day.

Willyou i hope J takes more fluids for you today. We've found if H sees us drink she likes to drink from the same cup straight after us.

We've had a better few days, with some great napping and a happy baby. The aloe Vera gel did the trick and we're now controlling the eczema :)

I did my first 5k park run this morning, not the best time of 33.18 but much better than I could have done a few weeks ago. 12lb down, 35 to go

SpottyTeacakes · 20/07/2013 15:55

Wow well done IsThat glad ds is better.

Hales I think we are de bugged but as I have psoriasis on my head I'm always itchy Confused

Ds has found his own weird way of moving about looks a bit like he's doing the worm Hmm

WillYouDoTheFandango · 20/07/2013 16:15

Well done IsThat that's no mean feat in this heat!

That's how Jamie moves Spotty, gets him around so he doesn't care.

Hales a friend of mine who was pregnant when I was turned out to have an ectopic and had to lose a tube. She was a good way behind me and selfishly I was glad I'd told her early on (we share an office and I was so sick) as I'd have felt terrible telling her later. We shouldn't feel guilty about these things but it's so hard not to.

Today we seem to be sleeping ourselves better. 2 2 hour naps so far. He's much better in himself too. I've got an itchy cough of doom though. One of those that just explodes out of you at random moments! Not ideal when you have a sleeping baby next to you.

SpottyTeacakes · 20/07/2013 17:16

Glad he seems on the mend WillYou.

I can't sit down with my feet on the floor because before I know it ds is trying to eat my feet Hmm

We're off to a wedding reception tonight not quite sure how I'm going to get ready and do bedtime Confused

IsThatTrue · 20/07/2013 18:40

spotty DS eats mine (and anybody else's) feet he can get to too. Enjoy your wedding reception.

MaMaPo · 20/07/2013 19:53

Willyou, glad things are looking up.

Have fun tonight Spotty!

Well, after two nights of getting home from work at 1.30am, my husband's off today playing cricket and not home for dinner (despite me thinking he was). It gets lonely, doesn't it? To make up for it, I have had a me day - Baby C has just fit around me. Makes it easy that she slept 1h45 this morning and 2h this afternoon while I just watched telly and lazed about. Between naps I went shopping and bought 2 bikinis (given I am in better shape right now than for 10 years), then I tried out a bicycle I'm going to buy, and then I had a pedicure (2nd one ever!). Now I'm drinking beer and about to eat a dinner featuring loads of cheese.

I dunno why I don't do me stuff every day!

Sleepy dust for ALL babies.

MaMaPo · 20/07/2013 19:54

Oh, ISthat - applause! I am genuinely impressed.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 20/07/2013 20:03

Ooh lovely day Mama, I love bikinis. Where did you get them from? I bought one from gorgeous at debenhans this week as I know their sizing and wouldn't have to try on (plus they go big enough for boobs). The practicalities of life with a baby.

DS is asleep on me in just a nappy. I should really transfer him but he's so gorgeous I can't bring myself to! He's like a little hairless monkey grabbing onto my chest.

utopian99 · 20/07/2013 20:18

CUTE willyou!

I got my bikini from h&m this year - size 10 bottoms, size 16 top (I thank you breastfeeding.) Dh was heartily amused.

We're both getting a bit sick of house hunting, meant tosee five today, one rearranged without telling us and two sold prior, again without telling us. Just because London agents don't need totry, doesn't give them an excuse to waste our weekend. Angry

WLmum · 20/07/2013 20:19

Well done isthat and baby isthat.

Way to go mama although v [jealous] of the shape you're in. I'm in the worst shape I've been in for 10 years!

WLmum · 20/07/2013 20:22

willyou T is like a little monkey gripping me with her feet when she's on my hip. It's super cute.
utopian estate agents are all wankers (apologies to anyone who is one/married one/is a descendant of one etc!). They lie and prey on people's desperation.

MaMaPo · 20/07/2013 20:58

Got my bikinis from House of Fraser - 2 pairs cost £37 total, down from nearly £90. Win!

Husband now staying down near the coast where the cricket was - I figure C's asleep, nothing doing here, he might as well stay with his friends and get the train tomorrow so we can hang out. So I'll see him at around 10.30am. Lucky he took Monday off - we have tickets to the Ashes but it looks doubtful it'll go to the 5th day.

IsThatTrue · 20/07/2013 21:07

mama I'm very Envy of your bikini body (see earlier post re: 35 lb still to go) yay on the bikini win. not that I have/will ever wear a bikini, hate my stomach

WillYouDoTheFandango · 20/07/2013 21:10

Ooh lovely mama.

This little monkey's up again and not for going back down. Think I'll admit defeat and try again in an hour

PrunellaDeVille · 20/07/2013 22:37

nice work Is that, running in this heat is a huge effort.

Willyou gorgeous image

Mama, I really got that lonely feeling last night too. Dh works so incessantly that if he's home he's too tired to communicate. Find myself looking forward all day to his coming home but then he just goes to sleep. I'd like to tell him about our day but as soon as I'm done with putting C to bed I find I'm the only one awake. At least he's home most nights though, I adore seeing my boys together (dh & C) even if it's only for a short while, always brightens the day Smile.

IsThatTrue · 20/07/2013 22:37

Well after me celebrating lovely naps DS has been up since just after 9. Something's not right with him though. He wasn't awake, just really many and fidgetty. He wanted to feed but pulled off and thrashed around. I came to the conclusion it was his teeth, so he's been doses up to the eyeballs and I'm now trying to boob him into submission. Unfortunately I just had a sudden cough which roused him just as he dropped off. I'm now pretty much crying trying to swallow back a tickley throat cough.

will you I hope DS is back down for you.

WLmum · 20/07/2013 22:43

Not best pleased with pil today - went to village parish day with them and despite my having got the arse explained my objections before fil does his disappearing trick with one or more of my children in tow. I have told them that its when there's lots of adults about that kids get lost as everyone assumes someone else has them a la David Cameron. Grr next time we're all out I'm going to spell it out again and be the bitch dil as always
Then mil having heard me tell dd1 she was not allowed a pony ride as she'd had enough rides and treats, buys her a feckin pony ride. Grrrx2!

SpottyTeacakes · 20/07/2013 23:11

The reception was lovely (very posh!)

I couldn't enjoy it though thanks to the discovery of two blocked ducts in one boob. I'm in pain and pumping when I just want to go to bed. Woe is me Wink

SpottyTeacakes · 20/07/2013 23:17

I can't clear it I'm pumping with no milk coming out yes I've still got two massive lumps in the boob Sad
