Oh will you, get better soon!

Ds' cold seems to have been transferred to me. Can't breathe and like I've swallowed a golf ball sized throat grater.

halestone · 14/07/2013 02:48

Oh no Utopian, hope you feel better soonThanks but on the plus side a sore throat is always a good excuse for plenty of ice cream with chocolate sauce.

I know this is sad but H has just woke up and when i got up to sort her she was lay diagonally across the crib. Its the 1st time shes done that awwww.

Get well soon WillYou and utopian.

5am wake up again here Sad

MaMaPo · 14/07/2013 07:08

Spotty, snap! C woke at 5 (though had slept trough from 9.30pm!) and despite jumping on her and feeding, was awake for the day. I decided to escape the house for some baby free time. I'm currently in Leicester Square on a long meandering walk. It smells of piss here.

Tried going out for dinner last night having put c to sleep in her pram. Total failure, she was wide awake and playing all meal. Luckily settled ok when we got home.

Hope everyone has a lovely day. We're booked for a long lunch in a place that I know doesn't have air con. It may be horrendous.

SpottyTeacakes · 14/07/2013 07:18

Oh mama I'm so jealous can you go and have a nice coffee and croissant somewhere?!

MaMaPo · 14/07/2013 07:24

About to get a coffee, spotty! Then take home juice and croissants for everyone else.

Barbeasty · 14/07/2013 10:13

Utopian I'll join you with the throat and cold. Now to see if it's the one that DC/DH already had, or whether I'm about to set them all off with something new.

Having spent a large part of this morning scooping bits of orange play dough out of A's mouth, I should be sorting out the lounge. But I'm making the most of my brief child free time and sitting in the garden with a cup of tea.

Someone in the house behind us snores like Daddy Pig. At least I know our chaos doesn't disturb them too much!

And I.had to laugh when DD suddenly squealed earlier. She was sucking the end of a bright yellow pen..... Only her tongue is still stained!

SpottyTeacakes · 14/07/2013 10:20

Oh Barbeasty I'm glad dd isn't the only one who eats felt tips Blush

IsThatTrue · 14/07/2013 10:27

We had a bad night again. I think it was the heat. He was happy snoozing on me, with nipple in mouth, but everytime I put him in bed he squalled! Thankfully he went eventually and I had 2x2hr stretches.

He's been down for a nap for 1hr, I've put washing on, bread on, tidied my room, sorted out my outfit for today (going to rich bil and sil's house for a BBQ). My brain keeps playing tricks on me, I imagine outfits in my mind, then put them on and realise that I'm fatter than in my imagination Blush it is better than a few years ago when at a size 10 I would look in the mirror and still see flab. I can't wait until my body matches what I think I look like! Lol

IsThatTrue · 14/07/2013 10:29

Oh and I'm sorry to hear of poorly babies and mummies. I thought DS might have been getting teeth as he keeps 'playing' with his tongue over his gums. But still no teeth!

MaMaPo · 14/07/2013 15:36

This baby has slept for an hour since 5am. We are out with friends having a seven course lunch. It's all going as well as you'd expect. I'm walking the streets while I miss out on course five.

halestone · 14/07/2013 18:07

Hope your feeling better soon Beasty Thanks

Mama i hope you managed to get some of your meal.

I put the gazebo up today to play and whilst i was making it i stupidly put a pole in my mouth to hold, didn't realise how big it was and bent over. Cue the pole hitting the roof of my mouth and back of the throat and cutting them. Ow ow ow i'm in agony!

MaMaPo · 14/07/2013 18:26

Hales, ow ow ow!!!!

Barbeasty · 14/07/2013 18:57

Oooh Hales that made me wince. Hope it heals quickly.

DH tidied the lounge, and has told DD there is now a strict 1 in 1 out toy policy, and confiscated the Olay dough for an unspecified duration. I'll have fun enforcing that tomorrow, but at least the room starts tidy!
A has got raspberry on 2 pairs of beige trousers today.

IsThatTrue · 14/07/2013 19:12

We've had a lovely day (including ds2 splashing his younger cousin continuously for 20 mins while in the paddling pool) ruined by XH turning up an hour late with big dcs. Poor DS has been being string out as I can't feed him to sleep while worrying my arse off waiting to receive them. I'm now stressed (although feeling much less sick than 15 mins ago before they pulled up at the door) and trying to feed an overtired baby to sleep.

Thankfully dd came back and announced 'newbabybrother is cute, but not as cute as ds2' Grin I'm so childish!

IsThatTrue · 14/07/2013 19:13

Ouch hales I hope it doesn't take long to heal!

SpottyTeacakes · 14/07/2013 19:50

Oh Hales poor you!

IsThat what a nob I'm Angry for you

Such a busy day, I'm exhausted. DS has hardly slept, in bed now though luckily.... went and had newborn snuggles with friend who lives in the Bahamas this morning, she had to stop breastfeeding after five days as she said her milk went Sad I feel sorry for her as I think it's just that she's been given poor information, I know she really wanted to do it (she said she was expressing 8oz then she could only get 1oz I reckon it was just her milk settling down? didn't say anything to her as I'm not an expert!). Then went out for lunch, had a roast as they were only operating main menu as it's a sunday(?!). Then we went to PIL's as it's MIL's birthday and they had a BBQ and we only got back an hour ago. Anyway that was my boring day Grin

WLmum · 14/07/2013 20:03

Hey gang, just had a skim read so sorry for what I miss! hales that has made me swear never to put stuff like that in my mouth again! OUCH! Bonjela all over for you! Can you get some sort of antiseptic/numbing spray?
isthat I'd be wanting to hear the same!
beasty if only I could enforce that rule! I just don't know how people with kids keep tidy houses!
spotty I heard today that sil has given up trying to bf and 'couldn't express' - whatever is right for her is right but I can't help but feel a little sad. She's very easy going though so I'm sure will be fine with it. I would have offered tons of support if she'd wanted it. Oh well, as I say, what's right for her is def the best way.

My word it's so much hotter here than at the coast. I had T in a full baby grow and 0.5 tog sleeping bag then added a short sleeved t shirt at 2 am as I was worried she was cold. She's sweating it out in just a sleeveless vest tonight. We had a lovely weekend, camber sands beach and rye town are beautiful but just in case anyone is wondering - Pontins is a hole! The kids didn't notice at all and had a marvellous time.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 14/07/2013 20:12

Poor you Hales, hope it heals quickly. How about a medicinal vodka? might sting like fuck on the way down

What a dick Isthat, hope you've relaxed again now.

Hope you got to eat some of your dinner Mama. How rude of C!

I've been out for a picnic in the park today. Wore the stupidest hat all day as it was heatstroke that I had last night. Really sore throat today from vomiting half the night. I put J in with me for a bit to make it easier for myself to sort him whilst being sick!

halestone · 14/07/2013 21:49

Thank you all its eased abit but i don't think i will be eating alot these next few days Willyou i'm a wimp so too scared to try haha.

WL i'm glad you had a great 1st family holiday together Grin

Spotty that sounds like a lovely day Grin

WLmum · 14/07/2013 21:57

willyou heatstroke is the worst. I'm surprised you could bear to go out today.

T was really unsettled last night and of course here we've taken the blackout blind down and got the windows open. I really want to get back on track with sleep training but just think its a bit unfair when its so hot. I'm a bit gutted as we were doing so well and on the cusp (I think) of whole undisturbed nights.

WLmum · 14/07/2013 21:59

Help, forecast for weekend and next week is even hotter :-(

SpottyTeacakes · 14/07/2013 22:06

Yep hitting 30 all week....I've ordered a fan for our bedroom. I think we'll be spending a lot of time indoors tbh it's much too hot to have the dc outside between 12 and 4.
