Beasty, will you be able to sneak off for coffee? Wink

Stacks · 12/07/2013 13:24

Sorry I've been AWOL. Had a terrible few days/nights. DS has turned super clingy. Not in a seperation anxiety way, he just doesn't want to do anything but be held by me or DH. If I put him on his playmat and then lay of sit curled round him and attempt to get him to play with toys he just throws himself back and twists and whines till he's in my arms... Then he whines some more. Couple that with poor naps and awful sleep and I'm at my wits end!
Luckily today has started well, we had a reasonable night with a couple of 2hr sleeps, then a good nap of 90 (!!!) minutes this morning and a happy baby since. I just hope this lasts or I'm moving out for the weekend and leaving DH with him.

Sorry you didn't get the job Spotty I'm sure something else will turn up.
Enjoy pontins WL, the weather looks like its going to stay warm for you.
Jealous of your upcoming beach holiday beasty, I need to book some time at the beach for us too.
Pidg great news your DP is well enough to go back to work. How did you both find it?

DS won't let me look at my phone any longer, so gotta go.

Stacks · 12/07/2013 13:25

I thought I did well remembering people, then I look back and I've forgotten loads! Will catch up more when DS naps.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/07/2013 15:51

I've made giant oat and raisin cookies mmmm

PurplePidjin · 12/07/2013 19:37

R did his Perfect Baby impression this afternoon at sling meet :o showed off his playing, sitting and crawling to the younger babies, put up with endless SCCs as i used him to demo, and napped in a new didy (I've been forced to borrow it to break it in!) on my back for 45 minutes. Hurrah!

He was tired but ok, we missed him though, i like having him around Blush

MaMaPo · 12/07/2013 20:05

Sounds like a lovely aftenoon Pidj.

Stacks, I have everything crossed for a better night and an easier baby for you.

Well, I rushed a bit this afternoon to get housework done, baby entertained, fed and into bed, dinner cooked and everything made ready for some guests arriving tonight, only for their flight to be diverted to another airport due to the fire at Heathrow. They were supposed to get to our place by 7, but they're still on the plane waiting to be let off. They'll still be hours, I reckon. What a pain. also I'm hungry

SpottyTeacakes · 12/07/2013 20:18

Oh mama I'm sure they'd understand if you ate before them! Where have they diverted them too? Hopefully not too far

Clarella · 12/07/2013 20:43

hey all nice to see you're all going strong!

I have one of those never sleepers hence no will power to post but one day I hope I will be able to return!Hmm last two nights hourly but usually two hourly so hand holding with you stacks! I generally cosleep as he frequently needs re positioning or plonking upright on a pillow and then tends to do a random 5 hours and we need some sleep but he does go down in his own room for a few hours!

he's a hoot though and always smiling so I guess that's the pay off Grin

love to you all xx

IsThatTrue · 12/07/2013 21:50

Nice to hear from you clarella DS did a few awful nights this week with hourly wakings. But he's also done 1 8hr night and 1 9hr night. It's probably a coincidence but those were the nights he was wearing his amber teething anklet Hmm

MaMaPo · 12/07/2013 22:02

Total coincidence isthat!

Our guests still aren't here. I still haven't eaten. Going a bit bonkers - I'd usually be in bed by now. Spotty, they were diverted to Stansted and then kept on the plane for ages, over an hour.

halestone · 12/07/2013 23:05

Mama i hope your guests are there now.

Stacks i hope you had an easier day today.

Clarella FX the sleeping improves for you soon.

Isthat i'd put the anklet on all the time haha.

Pidj i'm glad your DP had a good 1st day back.

IsThatTrue · 12/07/2013 23:36

Probably mama but dyou know what? I don't care! Lol my DH was very Hmm about it but I'm willing to try anything. As he's had an awful time with his teeth since he was about 4mo and at 7mo he still has none.

Although he's wearing it tonight and has just woken for a feed. But I buggered up his routine by taking him for a half hour run at 6.30, going a route I thought was 5k but was 5miles, so we only got back at 7.45. So it may be my fault he's out of sorts tonight. Who knows.

I'm doing a nearly new sale tomorrow, the boy has grown out of so much stuff! although the buggy sale is to facilitate the purchase of my jogging buggy

SeymoreButts · 12/07/2013 23:58

Nice to hear from you clarella my DS is similar at night although the last week has been a bit better. He's 7.5 months now, I seem to remember things improving with the older 2 around this age!

pidj great news that DP is well enough to go back to work, I hope he wasn't too tired after.

mama that's annoying, I hope they weren't held up too much longer. I would have eaten, but I'm a gannet!!

isthat I'm very impressed with your evening jogging. The last run I did was the day before I got my BFP Blush

Sorry I've not been around, school holidays have been busy. DS has been a nightmare to feed in the day and I haven't got round to pumping, so I've got mastitis AGAIN!!! I've lost count of how many times that is now, around 10 I reckon. My boob is bright red and so painful and I'm really fluey. Anyway, DS is always really reluctant to feed on the affected boob and I'd read the infection increases the sodium content of the milk. So, in the interest of science, I expressed a bit from each side into my hand and tried it. Yup, it tastes totally different, really salty. Nice!!

As you were.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/07/2013 06:33

Oh Seymore you have my sympathies I don't know how you've carried on. If I get it again I will have to stop I've never felt pain like it!

Ds woke at 4:30 and hasn't really been back to sleep since Hmm

utopian99 · 13/07/2013 06:46

Oh Seymour fix for it to go away asap, I just woke up with one side rock hard and that's just a bit full rather than mastitis and ds keeps whacking it with his hand. (Interesting about flavours though!)

pidj hurrah for Mr pidj, he has done amazingly at recovering in the face of adversity.

mama when did your guests finally arrive?

Jealous of the jogging is that, I was part ofa pram active in Manchester but since moving south things have been so busy that walking is all I get. Trying towalk for A few hours a day at least, while i make phone calls..

utopian99 · 13/07/2013 06:48

Oh and our old house is sold! Whoop. Now we really need to knuckle down at finding one in London before I get knocked up again..

MaMaPo · 13/07/2013 06:55

Ooh, whereabouts in London are you looking?

5am wakeup here, blergh. Guests finally arrived about 10.30, they were stuck on the plane for 3 hours!

Apart from late bedtime, an ok night - quick feed at 1.30 and she went down again straight after. But man, an extra 90 minutes in the morning would make all the difference. Do you think this 5am is a phase? She's still tired when she wakes up. It's been going ok about 3 weeks, maybe less.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/07/2013 07:01

Mama we've got early wake ups here too. I'm hoping it's a phase Smile stanstead is a rubbish airport poor them.

Yay utopian good news!

I just found ds under the sofa Hmm

Barbeasty · 13/07/2013 07:51

It might be a phase. If you've had windows open due to the heat when you don't normally, it could be something going on outside.

A woke at least hourly last night, and I've woken with a horrible sore throat.

A is really on the move now, and getting faster all the time. And his babbling has suddenly changed. Lots of new sounds, and I'm claiming "blah" as his first word. He'll sit there going "blah, blah, blah, blah". Very clear, and usually aimed at DH!

Seymoure, hope you feel better soon.

Stacks · 13/07/2013 11:19

We had a better day yesterday, T was much happier and easier to entertain. Still a bit clingy, but I'm wondering if he's having trouble with the heat and/or teeth. Gave him calpol last night too, after 3 wake ups in 2 hours, he then gave me a lovely 3 hour stretch, so feeling more alive today. Though still pissed off at everything DH says/does slightly short tempered.
We seem to have cracked daytime sleeps though, yesterday he did a whole 90 mins in his cot for his morning nap, and he's been down an hour so far today. DH put him down for the first time too :) This is all part of a cunning plan for me to be able to go out and do something sometime. DH can settle to bed and to nap without me or feeding. I just need to get T taking a bottle or sippy cup of ebm and I could get whole hours to myself Grin.

We regularly get a 5am wake up here. However as he's in bed with me I don't let him get fully awake, just shove a boob in and resettle. Usually gets me till 6:30/ 7 when I try then same trick desperately. We'll usually only get till 7 though, but on a good day/bad night we might get till 8 like this morning. It was 25 degrees in our room by 8 though, so could easily be the heat waking them.

Seymour I hope you feel better soon.
Beasty, sorry you had a bad night. Hope the sore throat is just a morning thing and not illness.
Utopian grats on selling the house! I hope you find a nice place in London soon.

T just woke up, I jinxed it by saying how well he was doing.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/07/2013 17:04

It's 32 degrees here.... Ds is getting a bit grumpy now it's so hot indoors, really muggy. Our bedroom is currently 29 degrees Sad

utopian99 · 13/07/2013 20:54

mama we're currently looking in walthamstow, although if miraculously a flat we could afford appeared in crouch end, that would be nice!

Barbeasty · 13/07/2013 22:15

Sleeping is for wimps. And how dare you put me in my cot when, seconds ago, I was roaming freely around the lounge targeting DD's stuff.

He'd better a) go to sleep and b) not crawl off the bed!

PrunellaDeVille · 13/07/2013 22:15

wow it's quiet here today. hope that means everyone has had a lovely day tiring out their babies so they sleep well tonight.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 13/07/2013 22:32

Got food poisoning or heatstroke not sure which. Will return when can stop vomiting and feeling sorry for self. Hope you've all enjoyed your Saturdays
