I've contacted most of the agents in town today and thy have all said that none of their landlords will accept HB. I'm losing heart now because I don't think I can bare to hear another no. I just need a hom for my boy.

TheDetective · 27/06/2013 13:40

It's done. Not too bad. Worst bit was the poking and stretching. And the cleaning agent.

Bad news is - looks like after everything the only way to help the external pain is refashi

GTbaby · 27/06/2013 13:41

Just looking at my sleeping lo and can't believe how much he has changed and grown.

TheDetective · 27/06/2013 13:44

Pissing phone.

Refashioning. Which is what I've said all afuckinglong!!

Waaaaaaaaaaah!

Got to give this a week or two to see if any difference.

Bottom line haha! is there is still areas of redness, it is still bloody healing and I've had some tissue silver nitrated off (the granuloma).

Pissflaps.

Got to sit in clinc now for 45 mins in case of any problems.

On a hard chair .

Ouch.

BigPigLittlePig · 27/06/2013 13:44

Chasing have a look on gumtree and in the local papers. If you can speak to the landlord directly, through private advertising as opposed to an agent, they may be more understanding. I bet the agents just say a flat no without even giving it an ounce of consideration.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 27/06/2013 13:58

BP depends on how complicated it might be - sounds straightforward. As an example, my firm would charge £350 plus VAT for the two wills. I imagine this is a reasonably expensive fee for this sort of thing compared to smaller firms. However, you might want/need to take more specialist advice on the basis you have DSD, it depends what intentions you have/arrangements you need to have there. I can give you names of firms local to you to ring around to ask for costs estimates. I'd be inclined to shop around in case there are wide differences between costs.

M has been asleep for over 2.5 hours Shock

It can't be me trying to rejig the routine yet, it's only day 2. Last night she did 6:30-8:30-1:30-5 fed a put back to bed and then up for the day at 7:30. Still 3 wakes up but not bad compared to normal.

Been to a musical activity class this morning so M can familiarise herself with the CM. She enjoyed it, fascinated by everyone Smile
Put her in her cot just after 11 and she sat playing. Went back up and she was face down, fast asleep and has been ever since.

Not sure what to do now, waiting for her to wake up so we can have lunch. I was expecting her to wake at half12 Grin

I've tidied and hoovered the living, tidied the bedroom, deep cleaned the kitchen, done the kitchen floor, done some washing, frozen some fruit and made some banana muffins. Oh and put some photos in to an album for my mum. Now sat watching the bill and waiting.

Glad the fanny stabbing went ok det

Bastard estate agents chasing I agree with looking for private adverts.

PetiteRaleuse · 27/06/2013 14:29

Estate agents are cunts chasing

In France there is a website called particulier a particuler - individual to individual, where people rent direct with no agents. Is there an equivalent in the UK?

StuntNun · 27/06/2013 14:41

BigPig we got mirror wills done last November for £135 under the Will Aid scheme.

Well I had a lovely morning in Larne apart from that it was pissing down but hey ho. I wandered down the high street, had a coffee, went in a few shops, fed J in the railway station waiting room because it was out of the rain Shock had a humongous salad in Subway where James was on his best behaviour, did a bit more shopping then hiked three miles uphill back to the garage to collect my car. So I've more than done my exercise for the day and the car's all ready for our big drive across Scotland next month.

We've had good and bad experiences of nurseries and childminders, I think you have to judge each on it's own merits, you can't say one is better than the other. There are advantages, e.g. nursery is good for social skills, you don't have your child in a car several times a day for school runs, you don't have to worry about sick days or cm holidays. CM provide a family environment and can be a home away from home.

bigpig I used the lady who advertises on mumsnet. It was £140 for mirror wills.

chasing I worked with agents, it's automatic they say no HB. Try gum tree, Facebook, local newsagents, local Internet forums. Explain, explain, explain, offer to put down higher deposit if you can afford.

TheDetective · 27/06/2013 16:15

Chasing local newspapers can be good for this kind of thing. Also, driving around areas where you want to live, and look for private let boards - I often see ones who are not through an agent.

I know it is harder when recieving HB. But there will be places out there. Promise :)

Glad you had a nice morning after all Stunt. I didn't know Subway did salads. I'll check that out as DS loves it, and I can't go in unless I can get something myself Grin.

I am enjoying O crawling. He's much happier for it. Yes he's getting in to trouble more, but he's happy as larry at the other end of the room right now with a mountain of toys he is crawling his way through!

Once we figure out how to Oscar proof the room, it'll be fine? Right?! RIGHT?!

Caught him picking frigging wallpaper off eariler... there is a tiny piece that is coming away from the wall on the dining room chimney breast. Of course O found it. Of course he had to pull at it. It was a tiny piece. It is now bigger. Fuck! Am going to have to find some glue to stick it back down! I did want the LR decorating in the next year. Think I'll scrap that idea for the forseeable!

Oh I can see O crawling back towards me... he's under the dining room table! The dog is wearing a permanent fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck expression. Grin

TheDetective · 27/06/2013 16:17

Oh and while I was typing the above, DP came out with the polish and cloth and has polished the living room. He's now got the hoover.

Shame about the fuck up this morning Grin.

Still, I made it just in time!

TheDetective · 27/06/2013 16:19

Oooops, sorry for the plethora of posts!

Forgot to add, O was walking on his knees this morning, pushing along an activity cube. Shock

Fuuuuuuuuck!

ChasingDaisy · 27/06/2013 16:40

Thanks, have tried gumtree, local paper due to arrive today.

My mum has a house (paid for by my dad when they divorced) sitting practically empty as she is always at her boyfriend's house. Mum, do you think I could stay in the house for a while whilst I get something more permanent sorted? No. Mum, me and O are facing being homeless, is there anything you can do to help? No. I hope that when O ever needs my help I will do anything in my power to help him.

TheDetective · 27/06/2013 16:42

Right, okay, it seems walking on his knees is todays new trick Hmm. As is pulling himself up on the sofa and falling over whacking his head duuuuh.

Bloody bollocks!

Oh and every day he is getting more and more hair. And it's red! I think his eyelashes are turning a reddish colour too? Also, the back of his hair seems to be going curly!

ChasingDaisy · 27/06/2013 16:42

I am envious but at the same time relieved, when I read about your O crawling det Grin I have a very frustrated non crawler here!

PetiteRaleuse · 27/06/2013 16:53

Sorry your mum is not helping you chasing

I can't imagine how hurtful that must be.

Where's vq today? Are the children any better?

ChasingDaisy · 27/06/2013 17:03

It's ok PR, I expected that response from her. Not feeling particularly loved right now though (in RL not on here Smile ). Actually feeling pretty low Sad

YellowWellies · 27/06/2013 17:24

Det we have a little boy who looks like he too might be one of 'the privileged few'. Definite gingery Viking curls going on. DSIL's wee boy had ringlets - I think hope J might get them - he has a curly 'fro especially when it's wet.

Passmethecrisps · 27/06/2013 19:46

P's eyebrows have a hint f the ginge about them. My sister is a red head and curly.

Lily311 · 27/06/2013 19:46

I want(ed) O to be ginger. I luff ginger kids. She had little chance as no one in either side is ginger. I saw the cutest 3 year old yesterday, bright, long, curly ginger hair-I wanted to take her home she was so lovely.

She had 16oz of formula today, better than yesterday but still not enough. I took her to health visitor and she is 71cm and 18lb 12oz at 7 months and 1 week. She is on 91st for both height and weight.

TheDetective · 27/06/2013 19:53

Quiet here today :(

I'm feeling pissed off. Bad week this week! Everything is going wrong.

But on the good side, which I shall dwell on more (!) I've just shaved another 2lb off this week. I've done what I set out to - without realising it. I wanted to lose the weight I'd put on in 9 weeks with in the same time frame or less.

I thought I had 1st 10 to lose. I converted the weights in an online calculator from kg. Turns out I did not! I had 1st 5.5 (10kg) to lose. I've done it!!!!! I'm back to my 'regular' weight. So, whatever I lose from here on in, is extra fat! YIPPEEEEE!!!

But duuuuh for the crappy weight conversion!

Donnadoon · 27/06/2013 19:57

My dd is ginger Grin

TheDetective · 27/06/2013 19:58

I'm impatient to know how his hair is gonna turn out! As DS1 has my hair - as you've seen on FB! I want O to have it, but then I don't. Because me and DS1 have to wash our hair pretty much every day.

And it is a pain in the frickin' ass. Mind you, so does DP. So, whatever happens, he's gonna be an every day washer. Feck!

TheDetective · 27/06/2013 20:06

Both me and DP were born with white blonde hair. DP's is now light brown when I've not dyed it for him... I'm not selling him here am I?! Dyed hair, straighteners Grin and mine is a mix of dark blonde and gold blonde. Well, it's a mix of several blondes at the minute, as I haven't dyed it for 11 months. My roots are 6 inches haha! But it is naturally blonde, and the pic of me at 16 is totally my natural colour. But after DS1 it darkened, so a few years ago I had it dyed. I dye it every 5-6 months usually and just ask for the colour that you see in that pic. It never quite turns out that way Hmm. But I was a golden blonde, and that is what I would like it to be when I leave the feckin' hairdressers. The colour that grows through is more a dark blonde!

DS1 had my blonde hair, but has gone darker blonde much earlier than I did - he was 6 when his darkened after my mum, in her fucking wisdom let someone at the school cut it, and it looked like Johnny Depp in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I was devastated! Took him to the hairdresser the next morning, and it had to be all cut short. After that it was dark blonde. Recently it has lightened a little, but it is still a darker blonde.

He was born with the same hair as O's, strawberry blonde, brown in places. Depended on the light that hit it! By about 9 months it was totally blonde though. I knew he was going to be blonde.

O - I don't know. It has blonde under the new red that has sprouted! So who knows! He has a bit less hair than DS1 did at the same age.

There is red in the family though on my Dads side.

Time will tell eh?!
