PP and PR I'll share that award too - Jonas developed a jelly addiction today. And I let him nom a bit of my bourbon biscuit. Blush He had good meals (fruit porridge and bagel for brekkie; EK spinachy pouch and chicken casserole, and banana for lunch then beef pie, potato, veggies and jelly and bourbon for tea) Take Tesco value bourbons to your pal's PP Grin they're dairy free Smile

TheDetective · 02/07/2013 21:37

Well jell BP! O isn't a cuddly baby really. Neither is he shy!!

I wish I could get a proper cuddle from him! He just attacks me. It's like, 'ooooh, party time' when he is in arms!

Sometimes I just keep hold of him when he falls asleep peacefully with his bedtime bottle. Just so I can cuddle him with no resistance haha!

Sounds wrong. But I don't care! Grin

TheDetective · 02/07/2013 21:38

Wine Pass!

Passmethecrisps · 02/07/2013 21:40

Take banana Soreen!

TheDetective · 02/07/2013 21:41

I will give O some jelly again tomorrow. I made some tonight. If he is lucky, there will be some left! It is orange jelly. :)

I'm all for everything in moderation. There is nothing wrong with having things that aren't classed as 'healthy' now and then.

TheDetective · 02/07/2013 21:42

I might have to give this soreen shit a try Grin. Well, O might!

It's time to make a new batch of foods soon, so have got some new recipes, and going to stretch his taste buds Grin.

TheDetective · 02/07/2013 21:44

Kirrin I don't want to do any of it again! But the thought of not having another child makes me :( So I know I will do it one last time! I don't want to be pregnant or give birth again. Or have sleepless nights again. Grin

Hmm

Perhaps I should rethink that one!

Thechick · 02/07/2013 21:44

Donna, I'm so happy for you. That's brilliant news!! And no I can't believe our babies are going to be 9 months on Sunday. The months seem to be speeding up!!

BigPigLittlePig · 02/07/2013 21:45

F is reluctant to stretch her tastebuds beyond pear. She also is really really reluctant to be fed by anyone other than me, even dh has a real job. She just scrunches up her mouth and growls. The CM is having not a lot of success, although she is having her bottles. I forgot who asked about that. She isn't sleeping. Today she did 15 minutes in the car. The previous day she had 20 minutes on both school runs, in the pushchair.

Kyzordz · 02/07/2013 21:47

I am definitely looking forward to sweary fucking weds, is gonna be a busy day for me tomorrow and i bet i swear LOTS

I get the bad mummy award for daring to offer E salmon again. Definitely hates it, was scraping it off his tongue with his bib! Then he had a tiny amount of chicken casserole with peas but wasn't impressed, and had some, just not alot.

Feeding him just before bed is a challenge, he is so sleepy! He was asleep by about 7:45. He wasn't happy during tea but it might be because i offered him something he didn't like which always makes him wary and also because I woke him at 5:30 after what happened yesterday with him taking forever to fall asleep!

Thankyou for all the encouragement guys, I do feel alright I guess, I just always wobble when he goes funny with food. I am working out he eats alot less of home made stuff and also stuff with actual lumps in that need chewing. Textured things he's fine with and if he likes a pouch it all disappears.

Kyzordz · 02/07/2013 21:48

oh my god how did you all post loads that i've now missed and got to catch up on?!?!

Kyzordz · 02/07/2013 21:50

ahh pass, have some vino, bless you!

BigPigLittlePig · 02/07/2013 21:53

Kyz I think the quiche has some sort of conspiracy. It's been quiet for weeks, and now I've gone back to work and have to do something constructive with my time, BAM, you all go and get verbal diarrhoea Grin

Kyzordz · 02/07/2013 21:54

defo go with soreen detective i bet o will love it!

bplp at least she reliably eats something :) sorry, trying to make you feel better Blush

TheDetective · 02/07/2013 21:57

Sorry Kyz Grin

BP T'was me! It will get better, it really will. How long has your CM being minding for?

O clamps his lips together, and shakes his head from side to side in a nonononononononononono over and over when there is something happening he doesn't approve of. Ie. cleaning his face works to my advantage as I just keep the wipe in one place as he frantically shakes his face clean haha! or giving him ranitidine. Or food he doesn't want any more.

However his new favourite thing to do when he is finished with his food is to let you put some more in his mouth, then he grins as he blows raspberries and squeals as the food erupts everywhere. He did it with a bottle earlier. Nutramigen in my fucking nostrils and eyes was NOT appreciated!

Anyone elses babies appreciating books yet?! O just kinda looks at me like 'I'm busy' when I try and sit down to read with him. So I end up reading it while he is busy tearing wallpaper, or eating carpet.

Pass O hasn't put his arms up for anyone yet. :(

Kyzordz · 02/07/2013 22:04

bplp are you implying I/we all talk too much? Blush I guess I probably do make for a better lurker!

nope detective e is the same with books. usually just wants to eat the books!

E put his arms up to me first, he's been doing it for months, he will go to anyone and frequently tries to grab people if you've got him and you're walking past people!

TheDetective · 02/07/2013 22:09

I think O just wants to be doing 'stuff'. The only time he wants to be in arms is when reflux is being a cunt. He just wants to be on the ground doing something.

He prefers it when I am also on the floor with him though.

But that is difficult as I can not sit on the floor, even with cushions for long periods. Fucking fanjo. Hmm :(

I spend around 1-2 hours on the floor with him a day as it is. I'd love to spend longer, but physically can't. It hurts as it is!

FatimaLovesBread · 02/07/2013 22:09

det I get the cuddling. I love BF M as that's the only time I get cuddles apart from when she's asleep or upset/ill. She'd much rather be off doing something than cuddling.

Tonight M had Spanish chicken and rice and crusty bread. She's also learnt to use the sippy cup and suck properly. This is a massive achievement for a complete bottle refuser. She loved gulping down water.

My friend came with her DS who's just gone 6 months this morning. M loves him, crawls straight over and strokes him and wants to play, she's so cheeky.

kyz you're doing fab! Well done for smiling and nodding at the HV. His weight is in line with his height.

pass Wine and some for you too kirrin

QQs - Anyine not got their period back? And anyone not had sex yet?

BigPigLittlePig · 02/07/2013 22:11

Haha kyz not just you, although my rambling made it read like that. It's ok really, it's nice to come back and see what everyone's been up to.

Det F very specifically like to nom the bottom left corner of the book. Always that corner. Strange child. The CM has been working for 8 months, she's got 2 kids of her own (7 and 9), but hasn't had any babys of Fs age yet. Not sure she'll want to have any more either...!

Must go to bed. I forget I actually have to go to work in the morning. Bloody hospital with its bloody sick people eh? At least I've managed to get F into her cot for now. Night everybody xx

BigPigLittlePig · 02/07/2013 22:13

Fatima no period here. Was wondering about that and meant to ask the other day. I'm only feeding F twice a day now, so surely it must be on it's way soon!? Worked out the other day that I've only had 3 periods in 3.5 years, thanks to mini-pill, pregnancy and bf. Must have saved a bomb on tampons (sorry tmi)!

Am really off to bed now Grin

TheDetective · 02/07/2013 22:14

O doesn't even lie back for cuddles in his feeds any more unless it is night/bedtime! He wants to be semi sititng/reclined, facing away from whoever feeds him!

Oh, water! Okay so O took the TT sippy cup great, likes water etc. Except now he just lets it run straight back out his mouth. So he has a sip, and then grins as it all runs out Hmm. Not sure what to do about that? I gave him a tiny bit of Oatly in the cup, just because I wanted to see was it just water he was doing it with - nope, he did it just the same then too!

So, do I stop offering it until he forgets this new trick (given he actually isn't swallowing a single drop) or keep letting him do it?

TheDetective · 02/07/2013 22:15

Ah. It's just inexperience then BP. It will get better :)

izzybizzybuzzybees · 02/07/2013 22:19

We went to tutrtle tots today. Was good fun and J loved it. He is the oldest baby there.

Today we are on poo number 5 and they have been a mucousy greenish color which I guess just be due to the butter in the Indian I had on Sunday.

I gave him a bottle with neocate in whilst DH was out at football. He managed 5oz of a bottle that was 5parts neocate to 2 parts BM.

I'm really struggling to decide what I want to do with regard to feeding James. I'm feeling guilty each time his skin flares due to unexpected dairy and starting to think maybe formula would be for the best. I just feel that if he is on that and then we get started in solids again he won't be taking the things that he is reacting to as I can just give him labeled stuff. It's so hard!!

I collected Js omeprazole today. Do you guys all have the mups tablets? How do you get all the granules into baby? What doses are they on? Nurse had said to give ranitidine and omeprazole which seemed overkill. I called GP and checked and they confirmed I was right in thinking it'd be one or the other.

Tomorrow I intend to make some apple and pear purée and swede and carrot purée for the nurse coming on thurs. I may also do some shopping if I can be bothered.

Elizadoesdolittle · 02/07/2013 22:21

Donna Wooooop. Huge congratulations. Lovely news.

PP Um I don't want to piss on your parade but Me and DD1 had left over chinese takeway for dinner and E nomned on prawn crackers. That's probably about the worse thing she could have right?? In my defence she did have mashed potato and chicken along side it so hopefully no harm done. And she bloody enjoyed them too.

bplp I'm sorry to hear poor F was still not happy with the cm. It must be breaking your heart. I'm sure it won't be long till she's settled and happy.

pr That sounds really positive re sleep training progress.

vq I really hope they work for you. Hugs. x

sophia I'm so sorry. I got myself into some bother whilst young and niave. It's sorted now thank god but I'm forever worried it's going to come back and bite me on the arse. I know full well about that sinking stomach feeling. I hope you get it resolved. I too would be inclined to appeal, or at least talk to your bank.

Kyz Do not worry one jot about what the hv says. Yesterday E's eating was fantastic. Today it's been a pile of shite with the prawn crackers being the only success! I was getting a bit stressed about it today so for me to tell you not to would be hypocritical but you and I know that another day will be a good eating day and there's no rhyme and reason for it.

E took a whole 100ml of milk from a cup yesterday mroning. I was so hopeful. Today, nothing. Didn't want the cup anywhere nr her. Contrary little thing. Despite that, DD1 being a precocious madam and E's tube coming out for the third day on the trot I have actually managed to have a nice afternoon shopping for baby stuff with my DSIS who is due the end of this month.

And as scarlett madame said.....after all, tomorrow is another day.

StuntNun · 02/07/2013 22:36

I'm so behind it's not true but we've been busy today for DS2's birthday. I'll catch up later, looks like we have the amazing non-sleeping crying baby for the second night running. DH has retreated to the sofa after being up all night with J last night. I am attempting co-sleeping but due to a tumble dryer user failure J is in his clothes with a 2.5 tog sleeping bag on so I'll have to keep him out from under the covers somehow.

I haven't had egg in over a week so it's not that keeping him awake and in misery. I have been eating tomatoes, spicy ish food, dairy and soy. I don't even know where to start looking for a cause.
