sophia could you get car finance through the people you buy from? I've bought from car people before and they were fab, don't go to carcraft they're con artists. Just because they've turned you down doesn't mean you won't get a car (((hugs)))

YellowWellies · 02/07/2013 20:04

Ahhh it can take up to 4 months to get on the roll - I bet that's it. They also look for a landline telephone. Which is crap given how in the days of mobiles and email there are plenty of other ways to contact you!

MadameGazelleIsMyMum · 02/07/2013 20:05

sophia rubbish. I would be inclined to appeal. I have done this successfully, am happy to help. The issue is that, post credit crunch where the banks were left exposed, their lending criteria is pre-determined and the fact that credit reference agencies rank you as 999 doesn't guarantee you will match the bank's own criteria. In addition, the managers etc have lost a lot of their discretion and autonomy to overrule what the computer says. You have to invoke a procedure to get an actual human to review and consider, and even then, it's sad to say that common sense will not always prevail.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/07/2013 20:12

Thanks madameand yw I think I will call them tomorrow and see what they say. Is so difficult because you can't really find out what anyone's specific lending criteria is.

I also did just put a mobile in stupidly.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/07/2013 20:24

On phone now trying to see if i can find out why.

PurplePidjin · 02/07/2013 20:29

Sophia Angry twats Angry

YW i would look at Tula, Manduca or preschooler Rose and Rebellion. More versatile as you can walk off road but still use it in shops. Are you front or back carrying? Bouncing him down in the seat lots? You'll get your money back on an Ergo as long as you can prove it's genuine - receipt from authorised retailer. Fb me if you need adding to the big fb preloved groups :)

Off to see my friend with 6mo twins tomorrow. One twin has a low white blood cell count, only just ruled out leukaemia Shock they're under house arrest for a few weeks in case of germs, but after my blood giving last week and our lack of recent bugs she reckons we're clean enough to visit! She's dairy free, is there anything i can buy in Tesco Express to take with me, or should i leave it?

TheDetective · 02/07/2013 20:33

Oh Sophia I've been there so many times. :(

My credit rating is shot to fuckery. I can't get anything at all. I have defaults (4-5 I don't know really). I'm waiting for the 6 years to pass - think I have another 3 to go...

In the meanwhile DP can get credit for anything Hmm. I wouldn't mind but it is me who manages all the finances, and makes sure they are paid on time.

Mine all dates back to splitting with ex too, nightmare. Well, that is when I couldn't afford the debts. The debts are from my student days!!!

I just applied for a CC from my bank - just to see. Computer said no! Of course. Despite a fairly good income, and lots of other positives on my file. Gah.

I try every 6 months roughly and apply for a low amount of credit just to see. Always declined.

It might be worth asking your dad you know. My mum is married to a man with 2 daughters. She paid 3/4 of my first car loan. She gave his daughter a car when she replaced it with a new one. And has done the same for me again with giving me her old car when she replaced it. She treats us all the same. Even though she only married him 10 years ago, and his daughters were 20 and 22 at the time.

ChasingDaisy · 02/07/2013 20:52

MM how are you and your lovely new hair today? Any updates on scan?

Kyzordz · 02/07/2013 20:57

Evening everyone

Going from where I left you all as usual..

detective I would struggle with an o, he sounds like he's into literally EVERYTHING! i'll bet it's brilliant fun and hard work in equal measures :) I'd be mega pissed off if dp did that with a present too and would either strongly rant at him and send them back or strongly rant at him and pretend to send them back to piss him off!

PR I will check the facebook. Also, it sounds really promising about dd and her bed :) woohoo! Bless her, I bet she feels great now, and all grown up for sleeping in her very own bed :)

vq lots of hugs and kind thoughts and little squeezes sent your way, I hope the tablets help you back on your way to being the one and and only 100% vq :) It is sertraline I used to take and I found they helped me so fc they work well for you :)

sounds like you had a lovely morning chasing!

Oh congrats donna how wonderful! I keep thinking I could manage another (not yet) and how i'd love to have more children. This usually coincides with things going well with e and me feeling like i get him and know what i'm doing. Usually within days or hours of me feeling this way he chucks an almighty spanner in the works and i realise i just couldn't manage it. You must be so thrilled though :D

bplp eek, poor f! I really hope it doesnt take her too long to settle with the CM, it sounds like it's all a bit difficult atm but hopefully she will settle there.

E is 34 weeks today and was in for 39+3 so he's not far off!

Everyone fed, nobody dead has to be the way to go sometimes luis hope all is right again soon!

Sounds like O enjoyed his food det, E has been a bit of a bugger today with his. Always happens when I think things are going well! Still he managed half a pitta bread with cheese spread on it, which seemed quite good. I've not let him have normal bread yet, the way it goes claggy worries me. So far he's had toast and then today tried the pitta but i still daren't put stuff in it and give it to him, so just half with stuff spread on it for now lol!

oh sophia i am gutted for you :( really thought you'd get it too :( hugs, please don't disappear :( are there definitely no other options? Perhaps do the appeal thing?

I might get e a pair of proper shoes, i worried they'd be too heavy for his little feet, is that not the case? Blush

oooh chasing fc the flat is a gorgeous beautiful lovely one for you and o :D brill news!

glad bath time went ok yw i am doing the evenings on my own this week and next as dp has an earlier shift so goes to work at 5pm. It's not too hard usually but with elyza too plus changing erics routine to tea/bath/bottle/bed i've been nervous but we're managing ok. Only two nights in though :|

hope you have a nice time tomorrow pp not sure what you could take with you sorry Blush

Well, e's weigh in was ok. He is 22lbs 4oz at 34 weeks. The HV seemed nonplussed until she worked out he was 8 months not 11 as she thought when she saw him! She then bombarded me with 'how much does he drink, he needs to drop another bottle, he only needs a pint of formula a day, does he eat a balanced diet etc etc'. I took quiche advice and nodded and smiled and left. He is not a bad sized lad. He is between 91st and 98th for weight and way above the top line for height, so screw them. I felt very positive about my smiling and nodding and 'i know what i am doing' attitude then the little darling refused solids for the rest of the day and made me all unsure again of everything. Ah well!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/07/2013 21:02

What is a zombie thread?

PetiteRaleuse · 02/07/2013 21:02

sophia that sucks arse. I'm so sorry. Call, and try elsewhere.

Detective I might be wrong but repeatedly applying and being refused also goes on your credit record. Which may look weird to potential lenders. Might be worth checking when your 6 years are up and leaving it til then.

Sweary fucking Wednesday tomorrow. I think it'll be very welcome.

PurplePidjin · 02/07/2013 21:05

Kyz you are the best mummy E could possibly have, the cuntweasel hv only sees him briefly, so what does she know? Books and baloney!

PetiteRaleuse · 02/07/2013 21:07

It's one that is v old sophia but someone posts on it and others answer so it goes into active and everyone gets confused.

chasing I have absolutely everything crossed for you xxxx I hope any sweariness from you tomorrow is sweary exclamations of joy :)

PurplePidjin · 02/07/2013 21:07

Oh, and today's Bad Mummy award goes to me...

Egg fried rice with sweet and sour sauce for dinner Blush

PetiteRaleuse · 02/07/2013 21:10

kyz there is no need to worry about weight unless it is disproportionately high compared to lenght, not your case, or too low. Babies are amazingly good at self regulating and that goes on into toddlerdom and further as long as they get exercise and eat relatively balanced diets. Your HV needs to stop box ticking and think for herself.

PetiteRaleuse · 02/07/2013 21:11

Jacket potatoes crammed with cheese and butter here pidj can I share the award? :o

Passmethecrisps · 02/07/2013 21:14

Evenin wimmens and mans,

I am gob smacked sophia. I am so sorry for you as well - it is gutting to get rejected. I remember needing a loan a few years back just after I had applied for a new credit card for me and one for my sister (don't ask . . . ) I got rejected for various loans because of th credit card applications - it looked like I was in dire straights. I was totally distraught. It leaves you with such a heavy weight in your stomach. My tummy is turning for you right now.

Hmm VQ bed is lovely but bed with a nice slice of toast in your tummy is better. I hope you have a good night to tonight. I really do.

Poor F BP. I am watching this with interest as now the summer holidays have started here I am on the countdown for returning to work. I noticed you said that F was poorly. Personally, I know that if P is poorly no one else in the world will do but me. DH will do at a push but she visibly relaxes when given to me when unwell. It may be that she is feeling poorly so is just much more upset than she would normally be. Perhaps when she feels better she will be more up for it.

How was bedtime PR?

Good on you kyz! Out babies are allowed to make us feel all like we are doing it wrong. Bloody HV are not! What is wrong with them? The minimum intake of milk is 500ml not the maximum! I am very chuffed that you held her at bay.

PurplePidjin · 02/07/2013 21:15

Yeah but did yours come in a plastic tray from m+s? Blush

I nearly gave him some battered chicken and black bean sauce but the verdicts were too greasy and too salty!

Sad sophia - that's rubbish.
Pidj hope the wee dude enjoyed it!
Chasing I really hope the flat is what you need it to be, and in a safe environment. I look forward to moving on to some furniture porn imminently Grin
Pass the illness is definitely not helping matters one jot, I think if she was well, she'd be upset but distractable iyswim, as opposed to sobbing for hours.

Currently the snot bucket is asleep on my chest as lying down renders her literally unable to breath Sad. No 7-5 sleepathons in the pig household tonight. Today she has started putting her arms out to me to be picked up, and has discovered the art of cuddles - she wraps her arms around my neck and snuzzles in. Adorable it made dh cry a bit

ChasingDaisy · 02/07/2013 21:28

Oh pig that is so sweet! My favourite thing that O does is his 'coy' act when he is around ladies. I will be holding him and he will look at the ladies cooing over him, give them a shy smile, then nuzzle into my chest before peaking back out at them shyly Smile

TheDetective · 02/07/2013 21:32

PR I think it only affects it if you make several applications in a short space of time. I think the advice is to leave it 3 months after a decline? I leave it 6 or so. I won't know til I apply for something! :) Not that I need it right now, but I like to have the option.

Thinking of a car through a work scheme like VQ. However I don't want to stay where I am much longer. I need to be in a new job in the next 18 months before get pregnant again. I don't want the hassle of changing jobs and then pregnancy. So I really need to look in to what happens if you move to a different Trust...

Kyz O is in to EVERYTHING. He really is... I knew I'd get one of these ones Grin. Some babies are content with toys, playing with things you give them, not touching anything they aren't allowed. I didn't have to babyproof beyond stair gates for DS1.

I'm already running out of ideas on how we can babyproof for O!

Pidj I was going to give O egg fried rice (SW style!) tonight, but it had soy sauce in. D'oh! He settled for a chicken and veg puree out the freezer, followed by blueberry and pear in custard!

DP went to Morrisons for shopping today. I asked him to pick me up a tub of Cadbury's Caramel Highlights. I just had some. The best before date on the tub was April 2013. What the fuck?! I mean it doesn't bother me as it is a best before date, but these things last ages. How long has it been sat in the warehouse for?!

Tasted fine though! Grin

Passmethecrisps · 02/07/2013 21:35

Cute bp!

The first person P held her arms out for was my mum! Who she rarely sees! It was heart melting though.

Fucking fuck.

DH is at a late meeting. I decided to make a nice tea. P took an age to settle so I was pretty stressed anyway. Thew the stuff in oven. Supposed to give it 1.5 hours at least. Gave it am hour and went to check - burnt. Tried to rescue it and ended up grabbing the fucking handle of the fucking pan which has been in the fucking oven. Argh!

Anyway, pie lid on and back in oven. Who wants to eat steak pie at 10pm anyway?

kirrinIsland · 02/07/2013 21:36

Congratulations Donna Great news Grin

11 pairs of shoes VQ ?! I don't think I own 11 pairs of shoes, let alone have 11 pairs to sell! Well done though :)
How are you and J feeling now? Hope the ADs help.

yay for sleeping in her own bed PR You are now one step closer to winning the battle.

Stopping at 3 detective ? - only a couple of months ago we were both saying never again. But now I am back to mostly wanting one more. I feel sad at the thought of never being pregnant again, even though I grumbled and moaned my way through the last one Grin

That's shit Sophia Do you know why?

good job on the smiling an nodding Kyzordz :) You know E is fine, and we all know you're doing a great job!

oh, and I think PR is right detective I'm pretty sure repeatedly applying for credit and being refused goes against you.

I got home from work this evening to find the house looking like a bomb had hit. DD1 had had one of her "organising" sessions - this basically involves moving things from one place to another and creating piles of crap everywhere. It didn't appear to occur to DP to either stop it or at least contain it!

Passmethecrisps · 02/07/2013 21:36

Right. And now the fucking pastry has sunk.

Where's the wine?
