Donna that's lovely. Congrats! Still a bit too close for me to consider (just in case, knowing my family, the baby turned up early again!) but we might start trying in the spring Smile am excited at the prospect. How are you feeling?

VQ glad to hear about the docs visit.

BPLP oooohhhh no - I guess we're at the age for separation anxiety to kick in? As PR says it might suck for a couple of weeks but she will settle.

I looked after my nephew and the bear today and I thought how nice an age gap it was (one is 3, one 8 months) so I think I need to consider a 2 and a bit age gap.... I might arrange it all around MA entitlement!

Can't believe Jonas is nearly 9 months. Must check the calendar but I think he'll have been longer outside than in in the next week or so Shock .

FatimaLovesBread · 02/07/2013 15:55

Congrats Donna Thanks

I've never had those VQ I've been on Fluoxetine and Citalopram before, both are SSRIs I think.

9 month birthdays?! Have I missed a month, I'm sure M has just gone 7 Grin

Donnadoon · 02/07/2013 15:57

Thank you everyone! YW Im tired and was sick this morning Grin

Passmethecrisps · 02/07/2013 16:05

Congrats Donna! Delighted for you.

Fingers crossed the ADs make a difference quickly VQ!

MadameGazelleIsMyMum · 02/07/2013 16:08

Congrats donna. I have a 21 age gap between mine, so a bit bigger, but DD properly loves her little brother, and every time I feel guilty about not giving DS the same attention as DD, I realise he is utterly entranced by his big sis. Their nice moments together melt my heart.

PR hi-5 for DD1. Brilliant, hopefully a big step forward.

Same for VQ - hope this helps you to recover some equilibrium.

Fatimia S is exactly 8 now. Think we have a big range in the quiche.

BPLP they say it takes a few days for something to become a habbit. One day, she just wont cry. Thanks

luis that is my standard mantra for the crap days. Survive it, and in the words of Scarlett O'Hara, "after all, tomorrow is another day".

Bryzoan · 02/07/2013 16:17

Congrats Donna! It will be lovely. Bloody hard work, but lovely.

Well done vq - hopefully this us the start of a better patch for you. Big hugs.

Lily - I am properly aghast that your specialist said baby Bjorns and jumperoos give good hip positioning. They categorically do not. I am amazed baby Bjorne have not been sued yet and am even more amazed they have stayed so popular. For most kids they probably do no harm but they are not ok for hips with any form of dysplasia as they dangle the baby by the crotch rather than supporting the thighs in the abducted position as shown here
www.hipdysplasia.org/developmental-dysplasia-of-the-hip/prevention/baby-carriers-seats-and-other-equipment/

An ergo, manduca, boba, beco or wrap sling tied well would give you good positioning (and others too I'm sure but those are the ones I know). R's hip surgeon - who is probably the most respected and experienced child hip surgeon in the uk, and one of the most experienced and successful worldwide - gets really upset about seeing kids in crotch dangling carriers. He also says G is not to go in a jumperoo, walker or door bouncer. Sorry to sound so emphatic but it sounds to me just like advice to give a cmpi baby normal formula and ride it out. I so don't want your O to have to go through what R did with her hips.

TheDetective · 02/07/2013 16:28

I went for a nap when O did... so I missed the cross post with you VQ. How are you feeling about it? :)

I've woke up in a marginally better mood. And woke up to rain - fuck you rain!

O just tried a raw pepper, and some tubes of pasta. He liked the pepper, nice and cold on the teeth! Not sure any of the pasta went in. The dog luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurves pasta though!!

Donna Congrats! Another crazy lady! Grin I would love a big family, but will stop at 3 :(

PR Hi-five! That's awesome stuff!

9 months?! Longer out than in?! I think I can categorically state that at OVER 10 months inside, I will be the last to declare that one hahhhhhhhhhhhhh! (Found out 22nd Feb, born 23rd Nov!)

BP Is she an experienced CM? There is a childcare section on here. Why not start a post there, as the CM's etc might reassure you more. I am quite sure this is normal behaviour. It just takes time. Remember it is a massive change for both of you. Thanks and Wine Wine Wine. How is she doing other than that? Is she feeding and sleeping okay when there?

FatimaLovesBread · 02/07/2013 16:50

That's a long stretch det M's pregnancy seemed to drag. She was concocted from sperm and egg on 2nd Mar and then popped back in on 7th March then I got my first positive on 12th March. If it had been a 'natural' pregnancy I wouldn't have even been due on until 17th March. It felt soooo long, glad I didn't go over as much as you not that they'd let me

I've started a thread in breast and bottle feeding about going back to work if anybody fancies contributing?

ValiumQueen · 02/07/2013 17:23

I feel ok about it Detective, but am not relishing the attention I am likely to get from the HV team. The meds will take 4-6 weeks to be effective.

She offered me a sick line. I said no as I do not want to compromise my chances at a promotion which has just come up. Will start a chat on FB as I feel safer there. You do not know who else reads this. I tend to think of this as my safe haven, and I think that was part of my motivation to name change.

MsJupiterJones · 02/07/2013 17:51

Glad you have got ADs VQ. I took Sertraline for a while, changed from Citalopram as it's meant to be safer when ttc, although actually by the time I conceived I was off them. I presume DH knows you have them? He should keep a close eye on you over the next couple of weeks while you adjust. Hope they have a positive effect xx Thanks

Lily311 · 02/07/2013 18:15

bry no offence taken. I can't use the baby bjorn because of my back and O doesn't go in the jumperoo anymore. She is a lot better now after physio, I'm taking her back to the specialist next week.

Congrats donna, it will be lovely having two so close to each other.

vq hugs

Does anyone else find it amazing that some of the babies are already 9 months old and some just turned 7? O is one of the youngest, she only turned 7 a week ago or so.

ValiumQueen · 02/07/2013 18:34

Lily there was actually one lady with us at the beginning who thought she was due Nov and it turned out she was almost 6 months gone!

ValiumQueen · 02/07/2013 18:35

JJ yes my DH knows. And feels bad.

PurplePidjin · 02/07/2013 19:22

Congratulations Donna Thanks

I have a couple of pairs of soft leather-ish ones for R but First Shoes will be when he's steady on his feet. At 7 1/2 months i don't think that'll be for a while, i just wanted something to protect his toes when crawling outside.

Baby Bjorns are not fit for purpose. Burn it and buy a proper slkng Angry yyto the formula analogy!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/07/2013 19:29

My loan application was turned down. I am distraught. I have a 999 credit rating.

What to do?

Phone them up and ask why?

ValiumQueen · 02/07/2013 19:33

Fuckers! Phone them Sophia. I am guessing it is a fairly tidy sum you are borrowing. Is there any way you could get a cheaper car? Thus borrow less? Is there any family that could help out? Increase mortgage? Do you really need a second car?

ValiumQueen · 02/07/2013 19:37

Jacob has a lovely pair of clarks first shoes. Boy ones as well! 99p from a charity shop. He wears them out and about, and in the Jumperoo as his toes are sore after DH left him in there a bit too long. Bare feet and carpet. Ouch. He wondered why he was crying.

I am in bed. J is in his cot. Not sure if he will settle but worth a try. DD2 is in her bed asleep. DD1 and daddy are downstairs watching TV. I have not eaten but would rather sleep.

ChasingDaisy · 02/07/2013 19:38

Oh Sophia Sad. I had my fingers crossed for you as well, I know how worried you were about it. And yeah, what VQ said.

So, my constant phone/keyboard bashing has finally produced a flat that me and O are going to view tomorrow. Not in my preferred area of MK, but I'm in no position to be choosy. It isn't a bad area by any means though. They will accept HB and my dad as a guarantor. If I like it tomorrow I am going to snap it up. It is available mid August so gives me time to organised and beg borrow or steal buy furniture that I need.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/07/2013 19:40

We really will need a second car as we are moving to the middle of nowhere.

I don't feel that I can ask my dad as he is remarried to someone who isn't my mum. If that makes sense.

I did loads of research and even had a long chat with experian today before I put my application in and they said it all looked good as I have 7 positive factors and no negative ones.

I feel like I have really let my husband down and that he must think I am a liability. I don't know what else I can do, I have worked so hard to get that credit rating up over the past 2 years and for what?

I can't eat anything I just want to disappear.

ValiumQueen · 02/07/2013 19:46

Oh Sophia (((((hug)))) this is not your fault. My husband was a bankrupt years ago so I get how it feels. Please eat something and please don't disappear. You have not let anyone down and your husband I am sure will not think that x

Wonderful news Chasing xxxxxxx

ValiumQueen · 02/07/2013 19:48

What is the worst your dad could say? Is it worth asking? He is married to someone else but he is still a grown up, still your Dad. Could your PILs help? Have you looked into private lease? Is there another company you can ask for a loan?

ValiumQueen · 02/07/2013 19:50

We need a second car too. I am hoping to get one through work, if not it will need to be a little old banger. I think you can lease a small car for about £100 a month.

YellowWellies · 02/07/2013 19:55

Crap Sophia it's a tough market out there but that's Shock . With the new capital requirements a lot of the banks are having to cut lending as its an alternative to finding new capital (as they're too skint to do the latter) but that doesn't help you - sorry Confused .With a 999 credit rating (my DH has the same) I'm surprised they turned you down. You're entitled to ask for an explanation and reconsideration.

I won't ask about the basics (recent job or house move, electoral roll, self employed, lots of recent credit searches) as with a rating of 999 you clearly know what you're doing. But I wonder how long is it since your ex trashed your credit rating? It takes six years for a default notice to drop off your record and if you are still linked to him by credit reference agencies he'll still be affecting lending decisions - have you put a note on your file with each of the 3 big agencies saying you're no longer linked financially? I had to do that with my fuckwit ex. If I'm wittering on about stuff you've already done - sorry. DH banks with first direct and highly recommends them - might be worth a try - they give him and his 999 rating anything he asks for!

Solo bath time as DH is working in London tonight. We aced it! No tears not even at the dreaded putting a vest over his head (my son objects to this - clearly a naturist future flasher at heart). Mummy making duck noises is the funniest thing ever Hmm .

Det you need to get the gardening addiction then rain makes you smile. Am feeding Jonas to sleep under the velux window in his room, smiling at the sound of it - no need to get the watering can out tonight!

YellowWellies · 02/07/2013 19:59

Woo chasing happy dance and fingers crossed. PP I agree burn the Bjorns Grin though DS is getting too nosy / rubber necking in the ergo now I worry he'll fall out as the back support feels a bit low now. Opinions please - should we go for a rucksack thingummy or a tough mountain buggy for long offroad walks?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 02/07/2013 20:00

I'm not linked to him anymore and I didn't have a default or any CCDs or anything like that. I just had some missed payments is all that fucked it up when I came out of the divorce as i had a massive credit card bill and was right up to my overdraft. The on,y thing I can think it is is that the electoral roll stuff hasn't reached the systems yet, although I Amon as of today.

I don't know whether to phone and appeal or go to my bank and see what they say. Thing is in reality it will be DH paying for it once we have the boys put of nursery and no mortgage or rent to pay.
