Kyz you come across as super lovely Smile.

BP good luck for tomo!

PR big hugs and a stiff Wine Mrs. Your work woes would have the same effect on me. Don't really know what to suggest but sending some kick the bitch up the arse karmic vibes to give you strength. Your description of entertaining small children also resonated with me - just wish we had some French nurseries up here.

Det have you tried batiste dry shampoo in a can? I swear by it from my wild partying shit I missed my work alarm days. My hair was always greasy when my diet was too high in bad things like booze and chocolate - but figure with you being on SW that's not the case.

I'm contemplating a haircut again. I grow my hair long, then figure I tie it back all the time, so cut it off myself into an attempt at Juliette Binoche's do in the English Patient, then trim it too short and decide to grow it long again. Rinse and repeat Grin I've been doing this for nigh on 7 years Shock Shock Shock

YellowWellies · 30/06/2013 22:25

Chasing, Det I wonder if the hair drying is what is making your hair produce more grease? Maybe it's overcompensating because of the heat and artificial dryness?

I'm wanting a style I can muss up with my hand and be done....
Slummy mummy! Wink

TheDetective · 30/06/2013 22:30

Yes daisy I have a long list of people I miss :(

Where are you all? Catbag, Contra, Nervous, Rowing, Toomanydicks, Tits, Chunky, Shanelle, Peaky, Pasties, Comrade... sure there are many more. Those are just off the top of my head!!!

TheDetective · 30/06/2013 22:31

YW I've been this way since around 11. Hormones I assume. :(

I started blow drying every day around 13-14 I think.

TheDetective · 30/06/2013 22:33

Dry shampoo works sometimes - but again it is hit and miss!! My hair also feels a bit horrid with it? And my face - even though I wipe it off?!

Hairspray is usually the best thing. If I use hairspray, and don't brush it out before bed, it will often get me another day.

But nothing is guaranteed!

kirrinIsland · 30/06/2013 22:35

i do that too YW I grow my hair long, then cut it off, hate it and grow it back again. I reckon I cut it off about every 3 years. In fact I am contemplating doing it again. I never bloody learn Grin. I do always just scrape it back though so its a bit dull.

ValiumQueen · 30/06/2013 22:53

Thank you all for your kind words, especially Chasing and Kyz who are two of the kindest sweetest most thoughtful young ladies I have ever had the pleasure to meet Smile but FUCK ME Kyz, that post wins the most epic post ever award! I love the shoe analogy, but I think you are actually one of those special shoes that has the individual toes so fits like a glove and is destined for wonderful things Grin

PR I so get what you are saying about SAHMummydom. Not for me either, but I am also not ready to go back yet.

Jacob has been very rough today. If no better tomorrow I will be getting him to the dr. My chest is no better either. DD2 is almost back to herself though which is great. She is asleep next to me as she napped today. Never a good thing. She came to bed with me at 10.

I seriously cannot remember the last time I washed my hair. I have frequent flannel action, but my hair is so thick and long it just seems a huge effort. I am nearly always up by 6 (5 this morning) and am out twice a day at least with the school run. Although that has stopped now thank goodness. I make a point of talking to other select parents at the gate, and pop in the shop on the way home and batter to them. My days end around 11 when J is not well, and if the girls or he are ill by days never end. I am exhausted and as I am being puked on several times a day at the moment I feel any effort to make myself presentable would not last.

Anyway I should be sleeping :-)

MsJupiterJones · 30/06/2013 22:54

Kyz I love your long posts too!

My hair is shocking, thank goodness the ombré look is in as I had highlights done about a year ago and nothing since. So need a chop.

Made fish cakes today from BLW recipe book, L went crazy for them. Only problem was they stayed really hot so I was having to cut bits off and frantically blow on them for him to eat! He ate a whole one. Not sure really about portion sizes for babies but seemed a lot.

It has been a nice weekend apart from some shitty row with DH on Friday but we seem ok now.

FatimaLovesBread · 30/06/2013 23:17

So. Tired. Envy

Will catch up tomorrow

LuisGarcia · 30/06/2013 23:42

Surely I'm not the only one enjoys being a stay at home mum?

TheDetective · 30/06/2013 23:43

I enjoy it too Grin. I prefer it to work! But work I must. :(

izzybizzybuzzybees · 30/06/2013 23:56

Bedtime eventually....

Bryzoan · 01/07/2013 00:28

I like it luis - but am finding it much harder with 2.

Pr - sleep plan looks great

Kyz - lovely post - though you made det look stuck for words Grin. You are a poppet.

Kirrin and kyz particularly thanks for your good wishes re allergy testing. G's paeds appt is not till end July but I am going to go back to the Gp and chase the nutritionist referal. I'll also mention it at r's next paeds visit next week and see if I can't hurry it all up a bit.

Asking for the power of the quiche to send really good vibes to R - she is 3 tomorrow (actually, make that today now). Family bry is all asleep but I am awake and sad thinking how much she has been through so far in her short life - each year so far has brought with it new big challenges for her. Her first year we really struggled with feeding and hypoglycaemia, her second was all about the hips and this year we have started to understand what she is facing with kabuki. She is my little hero, she always tries so hard, and makes my heart burn with pride, and I so want a good year for her this year with no new medical challenges. We are having a birthday party for her with her friends on Saturday. I couldn't face one last year as her birthday was only 2 days after her 6 week post cast check up and I was petrified we'd find she needed more work and more time in cast. Thankfully that has not happened so far. I just want her to have a lovely day today and on Saturday, and an easier life from now on. Unfortunately kabuki often has quite a lot of medical challenges associated with it so I am not being entirely pessimistic worrying about it and her. But a relatively straight forward and happy life for her from now on is my birthday wish for her. And if this year could be the year she walks by herself and starts talking that would be so wonderful too. Hope it is a big star that I'm wishing on!

Bryzoan · 01/07/2013 00:34

Yw and kirrin - hair... Sounds familiar. I had mine cut off this time because I was just tying it back and had no time for it, and both kids were driving me mad hanging from it. But I am missing it, and I know dh is too even though he's been great about it. It is really curly though so a proper bugger to grow out. Maybe one day!

LuisGarcia · 01/07/2013 00:43

Happy birthday R!

LuisGarcia · 01/07/2013 00:59

And yes, 2 is much harder than 1, I agree. It's squared, not doubled.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 01/07/2013 01:05

J is already squawking 2hr30 mins since he actually went to bed. Yup 10.30pm is bedtime in the buzzy house and that's a good night. We have a big family day out planned tomorrow and looks like I'm going to get about 5 hours sleep if I'm lucky!

I've ordered a reflux wedge and cot blocks to see if the incline will help sleep. Hopefully they arrive soon!

J hasn't woken yet so I'm going to attempt to get to sleep... I can't drop off easily and struggle especially when DH isn't in bed sad sack that I am and he's watching the end of the football.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 01/07/2013 01:59

Up feeding now do still haven't managed any sleep yet :-(

Maybe he'll surprise me and sleep through til morning?!

Hope Everyone else is sleeping

LuisGarcia · 01/07/2013 02:22

Does it help that I'm not?

kirrinIsland · 01/07/2013 02:26

Izzy :( Hope you get to bed soon.

Happy birthday to R :) I hope she has a fabulous year!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 01/07/2013 02:30

A little luis.

Thanks kirrin he took a bloody 28min feed and I'm about to attempt transfer. It has NEVER worked and this is hey he usually ends up in our bed or with me on the floor. Will give it a go anyway.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 01/07/2013 02:34

Well he's in cot so I'm going to bed. Haven't actually slept yet tonight and have a whole day out tomorrow so going to be fucked me thinks!

izzybizzybuzzybees · 01/07/2013 02:54

Still here. He lasted about 5 mins and then crying. Have resettled him again and I'm back in bed..... For now....

ChasingDaisy · 01/07/2013 04:11

Luis I love being a SAHM.

VQ Blush You are the quiche mummy. In the absence of a decent RL mummy that is vair important to me Smile

izzybizzybuzzybees · 01/07/2013 04:44

He ended up in my Bed. Just started screaming and arching back and us now feeding again, 2hrs since half hour feed!
