Happy Birthday kyz Wine Flowers

clarella M is in her own room and still BF. I've found it easier, I only wake for proper wake ups now rather than shuffles in her sleep and she seems to sleep better. I think it's because she can't smell my milk everytime she wakes. I bring her in to bed with me, feed and then put back straight away. Not sure how ill fare when I go back to work but so far it's ok

fruitpastilles · 14/06/2013 11:37

luis that's fantastic! Well done L!

Donnadoon · 14/06/2013 11:43

Thechick I dont believe there is anything you can do except keep your fingers crossed and think ' Well I will cross that bridge if and when I come to it' There is no point in cancelling or rearranging anything whilst there is a chance that H hasnt picked it up. In any case he is older now and well enough I assume to cope with chickenpox...Your eldest son and your Pops however will suffer if they catch it...but what can you do ? I dont think you can act on ifs buts and maybes...but thats just me :)

PurplePidjin · 14/06/2013 12:01

Whoop, lady i spoke to thinks it's worth me applying, plus there are several similar roles across different council departments so I'll go to my folks' on Monday and do some typing :o (they have a proper computer, i only have a tablet)

Thechick · 14/06/2013 12:40

Thanks Donna, I cancelled my plans for today. It's a hard one, I just wish the incubation period was a bit shorter. We have so much on the next two weeks.

Bryzoan · 14/06/2013 12:44

That has cheered me up luis Grin well done L.

Chick that is a tricky one. If it was me I would be tempted to keep him away from your dad as I suspect it is quite likely he has it. Less sure on the plane.

I have been feeling a little defeated this morning. Things just feel a bit hard and relentless. And I know it isn't going to pass quickly as r's needs will continue.

Really good luck with the job app pidj.

FatimaLovesBread · 14/06/2013 12:55

Those of you that have dropped the cot levels. What's the depth between the top of the mattress and top of the cot? Ours seems a right drop, feels like M is on the floor. Might have to get FIL to put another layer in

PurplePidjin · 14/06/2013 13:07

Sling meet at 2 if you're free, Bryz :)

ChasingDaisy · 14/06/2013 13:27

Hi quiche,

Struggling a bit today, but positives:

O has eaten really well today, breakfast was yoghurt with peach and banana puree and pear sticks, which he loved. Lunch was carrot and broccoli sticks and a rice cake with houmous. He loved the houmous so much that I ended up spoon feeding it to him. He had a lot of tummy pain and yucky poos last night, hence the bad night, think cheese didn't agree with him.

Phoned income support today and submitted a claim. Will be phoning the council about housing after Oscar's nap.

There are many, many negatives but I wont dwell on them.

Will try and catch up with thread now, but have we heard from Detective lately?

Bryzoan · 14/06/2013 13:37

Thanks pidj. Got a friend and her monsters kids coming round later though. Another time would be lovely.

Sorry to hear there are big negatives chasing. Sometimes getting them out can put them back in proportion? We are all still so proud of you, you know. X

BigPigLittlePig · 14/06/2013 13:37

Other than token swearing, det has been quiet of late - hopefully this is because she's super busy and having lots of fun.

Fatima we haven't lowered the cot yet, but it only has 2 levels - perilously high and back-breakingly low. DH will be getting the drill out, I suspect.

Kyzordz · 14/06/2013 14:07

Hey all, am taking some time to post whilst Eric is asleep. Am going to read from where I left off last night so apologies if it seems disjointed!Am hoping I can fit everything in!

Glad you got your flexi request clarella Sounds like you'll be knackered doing all that lot!

Nice to hear from you Daisy glad you're having a good week and H is doing well with his sleep

Cheers for the dust Pikz E had 4oz and 3 scoops again and not a peep till I woke him at 7:15

Horsey I have and sometimes he takes it, sometimes he doesn't. I might try it again :)

Thankyou for the birthday wishes pp, pikz, fruit, bplp, catbag, clarella, bry, luis, thechick, eliza, fatima,

nothing planned, dp clearly has remembered my birthday as he wished me happy birthday this morning but said I have no card as he didn't think I would want one. I might have to not bother with cards on his birthday, xmas and fathers day then, since they're not important. I personally quite like cards, I like to save them Blush

Stunt Thankyou, I am trying not to worry, and I won't do the aeroplane or distraction techniques either because I feel that tricking him will make him trust me and food even less! I guess I need to look at things a little lot differently (i am really trying to), I am trying not to fret at each meal, seeing bottles of milk as meals too and see how we get along. I keep trying to offer a varied diet and hope he'll take what he wants when he wants and focus on the fact that he has an appetite which is the important thing. It sounds like he is similar to J, sometimes he eats quite a bit and other times he just won't even open his mouth.

Bry I am trying not to see it as my fault, and be pleased that he's hoovering up yoghurts if nothing else! I think i'm only worrying now about milk because i'm trying to drop the dream feed and i feel mean taking it away. Then again dp keeps saying he wouldn't sleep for 9 hours straight if he needed the milk. He goes down at 8, has a df of 4oz now at 10 and sleeps till 7ish. He would wake me surely if he was starving. And not leave the odd ounce here and there during the day. Found your other post more recently, big hugs it must be really hard sometimes but you do fantastically and both r and g are lucky to have you. Hope things ease a little soon even if it's hard long term, I hope you get a little break

chasing really sorry you had a bad night :( You've done brill to think of the positives though, sounds like he's eaten really well! How did he manage the pear? I've only given e pear when i bite a whole one and let him gnaw at it a little bit. Do you leave the skin on? E adores houmous too, I might offer it again as I haven't for about a week. I should probably make some as the one you buy in a pot is probably not good to have too often. Don't dwell on the negatives, you are doing brilliantly, so is Oscar, keep it up :D

catbag hope you have a safe journey

bplp fucking teeth and reflux, sounds like a really shitty night!

actually Brew for allll the bad nights!! sounds like a few of them!

luis that's a fantastic sleep!!! well done to L!!

sorry thechick no advice on the chicken pox sorry

Det how are youhoooo? hope all is well

Anyway, Eric is still asleep having a nice long nap, this morning he had 2.5 scoops of banana cereal and an organix pot, without any complaining and with a smile on his face, which gave me the best birthday present ever and the notion that he does like food, he will get there and I can help him and make it fun and not miserable and like a battle. He's such a chirpy little soul, his smile lights up his whole face and makes me go all fuzzy. That's the best present I think i've ever had. A smile from my boy :) He tried some sweet potato and peas for lunch, wasn't going a bundle on them so we had a yoghurt, which are much more hilarious, and some babycorn, which are ok, he guesses!

itsnotyouitsMeals · 14/06/2013 14:59

Hooray for R and chasing!

And kyz was just going to remind you food is for fun until they're one so just give food and milk and don't worry. Stunt obviously has lots more experience in this but with DD1 I just let her get in with it and tried to trust her instincts. Now she has eclectic tastes.. Loves olives, gherkins, capers, nuts, asparagus - all sorts. But won't eat chocolate. Mad child. I loooove chocolate but can't have it! I digress. My point was just to say they (mostly) know what they need and will take it. I refused milk as a child and it turned out I was allergic. The BLW book is quite helpful re appetite etc even if you don't want to take that approach. I was worried as you sounded so stressed but am glad you are feeling calmer now.

Now I've banged on about that I have forgotten what else I wanted to say. Sorry people I've missed. Well done to those back at work. I feel v lucky to have until September.
Meals x

Oh yes. LO is 24 lbs at 29 weeks. She's a giant. Pic on FB. My arms hurt!!!

itsnotyouitsMeals · 14/06/2013 15:00

Meant bry's r btw.

itsnotyouitsMeals · 14/06/2013 15:00

Cos it sounded like I thought chasing had an r. Ach! Sorry. Tired.

itsnotyouitsMeals · 14/06/2013 15:08

And I realise I posted after reading up to about 1:40 am last night so missed loads.

Kyz happy birthday!

It will get easier Chasing. Hugs.

Hooray for BabyG(arcia).

Happy holidays Catbag.

Um. Forgot.

Right. Am going to shut up now.

Passmethecrisps · 14/06/2013 16:21

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you, happy birthday deeeeeeeeer kyyyyyyyyyy-iiizzzzzzzz, haaaaaappppppeeeeeeeee biiiiiiiiiirrrtttthhhhhdddaaaaayyyyy toooooooooooo yoooooooooo!

Passmethecrisps · 14/06/2013 16:23

And a massive hi-fucking-5 for minigarcia. That is one awesome snoozathon. Good job.

chasing think of it a bit like part of you has been broken and needs to heal. Sometimes healing is irritating, painful and can seem worse than the original injury. But we know that all the pain is worth it in the end because once it is healed then it will be all over.

Passmethecrisps · 14/06/2013 16:24

P woke from a massive nap in an awful mood - proper tears and whining and going on. Gave her the medicine spoon (empty) and she is now happily playing with it on the floor.

Bizarre

Passmethecrisps · 14/06/2013 16:25

And kyz. You know what to do to his shoes for not getting you a card. . .

Clarella · 14/06/2013 16:25

thanks for messages re bf own room. feeling more confident it's a good plan Smile

ChasingDaisy · 14/06/2013 16:29

Applying for council housing is fucking soul destroying. I am so angry as I have a perfectly good flat to live in, which he gets to fucking live in.

StuntNun · 14/06/2013 17:10

It's a pain alright Chasing but better than waiting till O is ten years old and starting to treat you the same way as he sees his dad treating you. Now that's a real shock to the system when you realise they've grown up with an unhealthy parenting model.
