Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
ChasingDaisy · 13/06/2013 13:44

Oh Lily yes sorry, I won't be needing the cot but thank you so much for the kind offer. I too am very selfish with my baby. I am glad that he is a mummy's boy.

Clarella · 13/06/2013 14:49

kyz just a thought - is it the texture / cooling thing he likes about yoghurt at mo? teeth? feels hot? etc?

ChasingDaisy · 13/06/2013 15:02

GT that's a lovely way to view the sharing issue, thank you. 24 weeks - wow! I bet it has flown by compared to first time round.

Kyz I really wish I could help you, you sound really stressed out by this weaning business. My only thought is, what are mealtimes like? Are they quite relaxed? O eats best if I just pop food on his tray and let him take his time. He doesn't seem to like being watched too much.

izzybizzybuzzybees · 13/06/2013 16:24

Not caught up yet. Am on pg 25!

J still shite at night. Worse in fact since ranitidine. Paeds on Monday so will know more then hopefully. I cannot cope with much more of this.

J is getting christened on the 23rd. I've ordered two outfits that should be delivered tomorrow all going well. Hope they fit my chunk!

GTbaby · 13/06/2013 16:42

Ignore my previous comment about starting a thread. Wrong group.

BP been checked and all is fine.

Clarella · 13/06/2013 16:55

glad that's good gt .

lol double baby brain!

Clarella · 13/06/2013 16:57

(((hugs))) izzy I know your pain.

so had thyroid checked due to utter inability to sleep thinking I might need a lower dose but according to blood test I need a higher dose Confused possibly been missing doses recently though I'm usually pretty good. so a month of extra careful med taking. might explain low mood recently.

fruitpastilles · 13/06/2013 16:59

Aww hugs izzy I hope they can find out what's wrong with him and fix it! S is also getting christened on the 23rd. Her dress is all sorted its just my outfit I'm having trouble with!

S is as happy as marry lying on the settee playing with a piece of paper! Don't know why I bother buying her toys!

BigPigLittlePig · 13/06/2013 18:37

We are meeting the vicar about Fs christening on the 23rd!

Izzy I do not know how you are still functioning. At the point just before I stopped dairy, I was on my knees after 3 weeks of hourly wakings, and 4 months rubbish sleep. I suppose you get on with it because you have to, just with a lot of the joy sucked out of life thanks to sleep deprivation. I hope the paeds can offer some kind of useful advice.

kirrinIsland · 13/06/2013 18:49

Bryzoan well done to R, that's awesome Grin

Kyz N was really slow to get going with food. everything I put in got pushed straight out again and she had a look on her face like I was trying to kill her! But then it just seemed to click, and now she wolfs it down and cries for more. Only mush though, she won't entertain anything solid just yet. And we are very behind. At 7 months she's still only doing fruit and veg, and porridge in the morning. Hang in there and keep doing what you're doing - he'll get there.

izzy Hope they get it sorted - you must be exhausted. Thanks

I am enjoying my job very much. Its just not leaving me with much time to myself on the days i'm working, and then I seem to spend the rest of the week playing catch up.
Luckily the full week last week was because of a course and so not a regular fixture. Usually i just do 3 days. Hats off the those who work full time.

ChasingDaisy · 13/06/2013 19:34

I luffs my Oscar. He fed to sleep and slept in my arms for 10mins. I popped him in his cot, he opened his eyes to look at me, stroked his muslin, rolled onto his side cuddling his muslin and went to sleep

BigPigLittlePig · 13/06/2013 20:34

Have just read this and thought of a number of sleep-deprived quichettes (Clarella amongst others)

ChasingDaisy · 13/06/2013 20:50

In other news, I have an ingrown toenail. Ouch.

Kyzordz · 13/06/2013 20:55

Evening all. Don't worry I won't talk a load of crap this evening, I've had a good royal talking to and a good long think and my sensible side is winning ATM. Thank you all for all your ideas and for putting up with me, I've been much better today and I am going to just offer a varied diet, no fuss or pressure and he will eat when he is ready, and has bottles for as long as he wants them.

gt forgot to say hope your first day back goes ok tomorrow, good luck!

chasing sounds like you've had a really positive day, I'm so pleased o is happy and you've seen he is doing well :) you are doing fabulously. I do think I have been putting too much pressure on e recently, and on me, because he was eating, so I started to expect it and I shouldn't. This afternoon I had pizza and did him some toast and sat at the table with him and told everyone to just eat and let him be, and he did eat a little plus a yoghurt. Yesterday he wouldn't entertain even toast so the fact he ate a tiny bit maybe means he felt more relaxed. Either way, it doesn't matter what he ate cos he drank his bottle so he's technically eaten, just milk instead.

clarella I'm not sure but it could be teeth, I know he likes his yogurts so I do keep letting him have them and we'll see how we get along :)

izzy I do not know how you've managed but I really hope you get some help from the paeds, you really need something to help poor j and you

Since its thankful Thursday I will be thankful for you all, thankful for my mum cooking me chilli tomorrow for my birthday (I love chilli) and I am thankful for my easygoing happy little boy.

It's been quiet on here today!

FatimaLovesBread · 13/06/2013 20:57

M has taken ages to get to sleep again but she is asleep, finally!

I've laid off food a bit today as she didn't bf much today so I wanted her to feed instead, so she's just had a bit of tea.

I was at my mums with her earlier and we were fascinated at how fast she is. She can't crawl yet but she doesn't need to, she gets from one side of there room to the other in seconds sitting back up at the other side Shock she's also pulled herself up to standing today.

In other news, we've just sponsored a relative who's running an "Ultra marathon" 100 miles in one go Shock I don't know how he does it, he's a machine. He's doing it for lymphoma association Smile

BigPigLittlePig · 13/06/2013 20:59
Envy
FatimaLovesBread · 13/06/2013 21:02

chasing Glad that you and O are doing so well. Boo to the ingrown toenail though

Glad you're feeling better and more confident kyz We all have wobbles but we should be confident and trust in ourselves, easier said than done sometimes though

Kyzordz · 13/06/2013 21:07

bplp toes are my least favourite thing too! Hope yours gets better soon chasing I had an ingrown toenail once and it hurt SO much so I really don't envy you!

Wow fatima how on earth would one manage to run 100 miles in one go?! Good luck to him! I appear to have enough wobbles for a million people, and I think everyone is fed up with it, including me. Hopefully I can keep a level head as far as weaning is concerned.

kirrinIsland · 13/06/2013 21:16

Ooh yes, good luck at work GT

ouch chasing :(

100 miles fatima Shock I don't think I could run 100 meters at the moment!

Clarella · 13/06/2013 21:18

interesting read bplp. though prob not read properly due to sleep deprivation slightly ncss I guess? it feels a bit like what we're doing in reverse. as in however he fed so little today due to teeth I feel I cant withhold feeds at night?!

one wake since 6:45. not bad I guess! fx we get some 3 .hr chunks tonight....

actually mn should have a flying pig emoticon. I reckon it'd get used a lot! Grin

ChasingDaisy · 13/06/2013 21:19

I hate toenails, ever since I dropped a paving slab on my big toe as a child and the nail fell off Envy

Kyz you worry because you care so much about E, but you always come up with a sensible solution. You know your stuff Smile

pig I hope F has got her unsettledness out of her system for the night. All the extra stimulation means that O crashes out come bedtime. When it us just me and him again he will be bored stiff.

He smiled at the dog and chatted to him today Smile

My MA ended last week. I thought it ended next week. This is bad. I have no income. Am going to phone income support tomorrow to see if I qualify. I assume I will - no income, single parent with a child under 5 and all the websites say I qualify, but I don't like to count my chickens.

Clarella · 13/06/2013 21:23

chasing although lots of people / books say don't feed to sleep etc etc your post is a lovely example of why it's ok. what's lovely way to go to sleep Smile

have to say I find it almost impossible not to feed to sleep at times. boob is like a drug to them. then other times it stops working (lots recently - teeth I think) and we're both looking at each other saying ' ok what do we do now?' !Grin

Clarella · 13/06/2013 21:26

some quichies might want to do this

apps.dur.ac.uk/sleep.lab/survey/consent

argh on app can't remember hyperlink things sorry

ChasingDaisy · 13/06/2013 21:29

Clarella Smile I have no issues with him feeding to sleep, works for us and what a peaceful way to go to sleep Smile

BigPigLittlePig · 13/06/2013 21:29

Chasing I'm sure F finds me thoroughly dull! She did have the biggest fit of giggles today though so I must be doing something right.

Clarella what is the NCSS?

Fatima not sure I could run even 1 mile. 100 miles?! Is he insane?!
