Hi every

IsThatTrue · 19/06/2013 16:36

Hmm posted too soon.

Hi everyone, our night wasn't too bad. I had running club so put DS2 down at 7.15 and he didn't wake up while I was out :) he woke at 10.30 as we went to bed, and 4.30 although he had bad wind after his feed so came into bed with us and slept until 7.

Today he worked out he can get to the kitchen by himself, I went out to find him sucking on the broom Hmm

Sorry to hear of other bad nights.

Last night DS had a sleep suit a d growbag, tonight I think I'll just put him in a vest and growbag as its really hot.

SpottyTeacakes · 19/06/2013 17:59

Dp isn't finishing work until seven and dd and ds are both being whingy, grumpy children. Roll on 6:30 when I can start bedtime....

IsThatTrue · 19/06/2013 18:43

Aw spotty I hope bedtime goes smoothly for you.

Just had a really soppy moment, DS was down on the floor and I wanted a cuddle so I knelt down and held my arms out and he crawled (well commando crawled) into my arms! Grin very very cute. He also managed to sit up from a crawling position, Shock it won't be long before he's zooming round at full speed.

He only has one sound though 'ahhhhhhh' no babbling at all, just 'ahhhhhh' Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 19/06/2013 18:47

Ds still isn't really sitting or moving, well he can sit if he's supporting himself with his arms and get get where he wants to go very, very slowly. He's started growling today like a gremlin Hmm

SpottyTeacakes · 19/06/2013 19:12

Phew both in bed and dp ten minutes away Smile

WLmum · 19/06/2013 19:36

Wow isthat! T can sit for a bit but does fall over after a bit so I sit her in her playnest quite a lot. She's still just getting her knees up under her, no forward movement yet.
She's been quite upset this evening, don't know if there's something wrong or if she's just hot.

Stacks · 19/06/2013 20:42

When people post about baby development I always wonder at the age differences... So I just spent far too long looking out the stats list. How do people feel about updating it?

I'm impressed by your LO IsThat, T us sitting really well but no movement at all from him. He's proven today that he can roll back to front consistently though, and how much he hates tummy time - he rolls over within about 30s now :)

I gave T strawberry today, he appeared to love it. He got really messy though! Maybe I'll Facebook a pic :) We've also had a self settling success - I fed T but he didn't fall asleep, so I just stayed laying beside him and he fell asleep after 25m of leg kicking and moving side to side. He did well a couple of times last night too, just a bit of crying at wake ups before falling back asleep. Will try an persevere tonight, though overall I think I get less sleep this way. It should pay off soon when he stops waking though right?

IsThatTrue · 19/06/2013 20:51

Grin @ gremlin noises spotty

stacks we have the opposite DS hates being on his back, he's always been much happier on his fr

Stacks · 19/06/2013 20:55

That should say rolling front to back - he refuses to stay on his front, and spends the 30s it takes him to roll shouting his displeasure to anyone that'll listen.

IsThatTrue · 19/06/2013 20:55

Urgh sorry.

Been much happier on his front than his back, awake or asleep.

He woke up a little while ago sweating, our room is 25 degrees! He's in a l/sleeve vest and 0.5 tog growbag. If he wakes again I think I will take his vest off.

I wish he wasn't moving yet tbh, I like putting a baby down and knowing they will be there when I come back Grin but he is much much less frustrated since he started moving.

MaMaPo · 19/06/2013 20:59

ISthat, impressive! C sits well now, doesn't fall too often (and if she does, often ends up on her front). No attempts to crawl but she can swivel herself around in a circle if on her front. She lifts her arms and legs off the floor - I call it her 'walrus' move.

Ispy glad your trip to London was OK. I hear the annoyance with your partner though, that sounds annoying. coincidentally I walked past the Supreme Court this afternoon - I live quite close to it. Never fed there though!

Nice work on self-settling, Stacks. C went down well tonight too - 15 min of chatting to herself.

Right - off to make C some pear for breakfasts, then I have to call my grandfather in NZ for his birthday. He's 93!

IsThatTrue · 19/06/2013 21:04

Oh and I'm very impressed by sleep training and self settling, DS is pushed in the buggy during the day and fed to sleep at bedtime/night.

PurplePidjin · 19/06/2013 21:15

R tries to swim, but tends to roll towards what he wants or squeak at me till i distract him! He's got wide range of squeals, grunts, ahs and rrrrrrrs and can sit for about 20 minutes till he gets upset and tired and needs a cuddle.

He's in his wool longies, long sleeved cotton tee shirt and JoJo sheet sleeping bag, started in his 1 tog but was sweating so i changed it and he went out like a light.

Last night was only one wake up, would it be selfish of me to want another like it?

IsThatTrue · 19/06/2013 21:23

Not selfish at all pidj I only had 1 nighttime wake up (along with the 1 as we went to bed and 1 at 7am just before getting the big dcs up) I would quite like that again tbh.

Barbeasty · 19/06/2013 21:59

A has self settled, but he did it on the mat on the lounge floor, while I was putting DD to bed. So he's in a nappy from this afternoon and a short sleeved vest that the nursery put him in. He went down at about 6.30, and had been asleep on me for a bit before that.

But I had to leave work at 3pm when nursery called to get me to collect DD. She really isn't well, bless her. But I have to say that A being so good at taking medicine has made DD much better.

And I've just been told that my youngest brother's wife is due in January. A cousin close in age, and someone to pass all our stuff onto. A clear spare room, here we come!

Stacks · 19/06/2013 22:43

Well, this is our 3rd wake up since T fell asleep at 8:20. First feed though, which is much better than normal. Last two wakes I just laid really still and he fell back asleep with just a bit of fuss. This one was proper screaming though, surely he can't be hungry?

ISpyPlumPie · 19/06/2013 22:55

Ha Mama, just as well it wasn't yesterday or you would have been confronted with the sight of a rather frazzled mum feeding a baby who has now decided to latch on and off at the most inopportune moments, a three year old having a bout of unspecified whining and a man hovering in the background, glued to an iphone and oblivious to it all.

Lovely news Barbeasty - will be so nice with cousins of similar age.

Isthat - I know exactly what you mean about the perils of a mobile baby. N is now crawling at full speed. Today's escapades have included trying to explore the fireplace and attempting to eat one of DS1's toys. All potential incidents have been headed off at the pass, but it is exhausting.

DS1's gift from nursery today is his first (and hopefully last) case of head lice. A fun evening has therefore been had delousing the ISpy household, excluding N as he has v fine hair and there are no signs at all of infestation. The stuff can be used from 6 months but I'd rather not unless it becomes necessary.

I know there's never a good time for these things, but this is a particularly bad one as I've got a meeting with my boss tomorrow about changing my hours and now I'm going to be paranoid about itching my head throughout. At least DH has redeemed himself somewhat by fully stepping up to lice blasting duties though.

Feeding again.

halestone · 20/06/2013 00:28

Stacks yay to the self settling but boo to the wake ups.

Isthat and Ispy H looked like she was going to crawl the other week but now she seems to have completely given up on the idea. Instead she has figured out that she can roll over and over and change directions so she can get to the places she needs to.

Late night here as she has only just gone down we've put her in just a vest for bed hoping that keeps her asleep longer.

Sad day here as i got rid of all of her clothing that didn't fit. Some of it had never been worn Hmm but me and DP had to take her out and buy loads of clothes for her in 9-12 months as i didn't realise how little she had.

Beasty hope DD is feeling better soon.

Ispy hope your meeting goes well tomorrow and that you don't itch and that the de-licing works i was itching my head reading your post.

Feeding again.

SpottyTeacakes · 20/06/2013 05:02

We're up for the third time. I tried settling without a feed but he just kept stirring anyway I needed to feed him as I appear to have another blocked duct Hmm when I woke up I was laying on my bib squashed between my arm and the bed so I think that's why......

Stacks · 20/06/2013 05:46

Feeding again.

utopian99 · 20/06/2013 06:41

Crikey stacks that's a hungry baby!

I have a question for the sleep training people; how do you know it's worth trying and when is hunger rather than not? Can you do it just for bedtime even if they're still genuinely hungry in the night?
