I'm listening to DH torture a tired T with tummy time. I'm not saying anything though, it's my only 10 minutes without DS today. He's off out to meet up with friends so bed time on my own tonight. He's been grumpy and tired all day so hoping he'll settle early and quickly. Even though I still have to go to bed with him.

Stacks · 12/06/2013 18:11

I'm exhausted today, as you can probably tell from that post! I can't believe how badly it's written. You can probably guess which "he" is which between DH and DS though :)

IsThatTrue · 12/06/2013 19:23

We have had much more sleep today and much less shouting :) he totalled about 3hrs in naps, (compared to yesterday's 45 mins total Hmm) and he's been much happier. I went for my run earlier so DH had a lovely smiley boy for dinner rather than an overtired screamy boy who should be in bed.

I can't remember who asked about BLW but I think the mantra on food is 'under one its just for fun' so it's about the tastes, textures etc rather than actually eating the food. We started about 3 weeks ago and DS is starting to eat a bit more now. And yesterday and today he even let me spoon feed him some yoghurt! Yay! he still much prefers a bit of bread he eats lots of fruit and veg (or mushes it into his eyebrows at least). And yesterday was clamouring after dd and ds1s baked beans so i spoon fed him a few of those (about5! Lol ) while he was feeding himself banana Hmm Grin

Oh and his tummy appears to be sorting itself out, he's seems to have gone back to pooing once a day not every 3. They're still pretty horrendous though.

WLmum · 12/06/2013 19:32

Any chance of an early night and/or lay in stacks?
That sounds better isthat, so frustrating when they won't nap yet are so very tired.
In a daring move I think I might start off in my own bed tonight and the join Tabs in her room from her first wake. Not sure how relaxed I'll be with her in a different room though, particularly as we still have the sensor mat on and I'm not convinced that we'd hear the alarm from her room with the door shut, so we'll have to have the parent unit in with us and annoyingly I don't think you can silence the 'click' of the movement sensor - better google it.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 12/06/2013 19:54

Good luck WL, all the sensor mats I've seen can't be muted I'm afraid. That'd drive me potty as I'm a terrible sleeper.

I bought a jumperoo today! DS loves it Smile it's a fisher price rainforest one and extendable so I hope he gets a bit of use out of it. He wants to be stood up all the time but my arms can't take it.

It was me IsThat, DS would eat rice cakes all day every day but isn't overly bothered about anything else.
I've tried all the nice sweet veg but nothing doing.

I'm supposed to do day 3 of the shred when DS falls asleep as I've not managed to do it yet. DS napped while out and about so no opportunity. All I actually want to do is lie in the bath with my heat magazine.

WLmum · 12/06/2013 20:00

Checked the instructions and you can turn off the ticking sound - hoorah - otherwise I would have either been kept awake by it, or stayed awake listening to it to make sure she's ok.

WLmum · 12/06/2013 20:24

Poor you fod in laws can be such a nightmare. Mine are generally nice people but the worst was when mil told everyone in the family (relations near and far) that we were having trouble conceiving but not to talk to us about it!! She couldn't understand why I was upset!

SpottyTeacakes · 12/06/2013 21:17

First wake up Hmm I got over an hours sleep in beforehand anyway. Dd just woke up too she felt a bit hot apparently. Her nursery has chicken pox, slapped cheek and hand foot and mouth Shock

MaMaPo · 12/06/2013 21:32

Good luck to those in need of sleep! (I should add myself to the list).

Decent bedtime here - we switched around the order of feeding and bath to ensure she went to bed awake. Some shouting for 15 minutes and then zonked out. Partially we switched it around as I had to head off the dentist (woe!) but it's good practice for her not to feed to sleep. Here's hoping we don't have a repeat of the dreamfeed meltdown.

WLmum · 12/06/2013 22:24

spotty calamine lotion at the ready then! Mine (big 2) have had all those things so fire away with any questions!

Good luck mama, I'm just doing a dream feed now. Fx for a long peaceful night. Have stuck paper over the little window over her door tonight for maximum darkness.

SpottyTeacakes · 12/06/2013 23:13

Going to be two hourly tonight then Hmm

MaMaPo · 12/06/2013 23:18

Thanks WL. She woke at 10 (unusual) and fell asleep after some shouting so I'm just giving her a df now - bit late. Hopefully she has a decent stretch now.

Oh spotty. Good luck tonight.

2blessed · 12/06/2013 23:55

Willyou DS has a jumperoo too, definitely one of my fave purhases. He loves it but does get annoyed after 10 mins Confused.

Oh spotty, hope your dcs manage to settle.

we had a great time swimming. Next week we will go to the class that the leisure centre run with singing and games but lovely to have an initial plash around today to get ds used to the water. Met up with a lady that I met in clinic and her 7 month old. Lovely to have a local new mum mate as my close friends dcs range from 17 to 2.

FX for good night sleeps

MaMaPo · 13/06/2013 03:35

Quiet in here. I hope that bodes well.

WLmum · 13/06/2013 03:49

Woo-hoo we seem to have made good progress tonight. Up at 3 for a feed (about 15 mins ish I guess) then down awake. Some rolling around and growling but no crying or shouting and I didn't have to get her out if the cot, just a few back rubs and all settled by 3.45. Fx she stats asleep now til 7!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2013 04:00

Ds woke again at 1:30 but it had only been 2.5 hours so I settled him and he's just woken up now so that's five hours between feeds. Phew.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 13/06/2013 04:21

Yay good news spotty and WL.

I did a late dream feed at 12:30 as he was so restless and he's back up again now. Meh!

utopian99 · 13/06/2013 04:45

Ds has been up every 2 hours tops with his cough, poor thing. It's starting to sound worse, I have to shoot to hiscot to put him uupright every time as it really soundsa bit ffrightening, but the health visitor said that unless it gets a lot worse it's probably just best to let it run it's course. (And I definitely don't want to over medicate him.)
Does sound uncomfortable though and dh is supposed to be looking after him in London today while I go to a professional seminar. Might give him a bit of calpol just in case; I've got a sore throat too and it definitely hurts!

Hope everyone else is doing okay for sleep though; some of you sound promising?

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2013 06:27

Ds awake at six but he's happy awake in his cot in the morning. The five hours was great but because I had to settle him at 1:30 I was still out of bed every two hours. I'm glad I went to bed at 7:30 last night!

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2013 06:27

Utopian poor ds I have a sore throat too and it's always worse at night and first thing

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2013 06:30

Argh it's going to chuck it down all day Sunday Sad we were going to take dd to the zoo what can we do instead?? Stupid British weather Angry

halestone · 13/06/2013 06:41

Spotty is there a safari park you could go to instead?

Yay WL hopefully T is still asleep now.

2 blessed i'm glad swimming was goodGrin

Utopian hope you and DS are feeling better.

Mama how did last night go.

OP posts:
SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2013 06:46

No nothing like that near here. There isn't much to do anywhere round here Hmm

Ds spends his whole feeding time grabbing my mouth and chin Confused

MaMaPo · 13/06/2013 07:43

Spotty, cinema? I agree about this stupid 'summer' weather! Last week was glorious, this week... not so much.

Utopian - that sounds nasty. I hope he's OK today. I think Calpol is a good bet.

Hales, last night was OK. We had some shouting at bedtime and again when she woke up at 10, but she self-settled both times. I did a dreamfeed at about 11, and she woke for a feed at 3.30am and was up for the day by 6. I would pay her lots of money to just sleep until 7! My husband and I are like zombies. Plus it means she's ready for her nap super early - she's gone back down again now and I can hear her chatting and sometimes shouting in her cot.

SpottyTeacakes · 13/06/2013 07:56

Mama that sounds like a good night to me! Six is generally get up time in this house.

Dd can only sit still for the length of the gruffalo so cinema is a no go at the moment!
