Gagging results in vom here. Oh well.

Breakfast is generally Ella's porridge (mango and strawberry) I make it up with full fat cows milk.

Lunch a purée of sorts. This week I made some lentil thing from ak. It's nice. He also likes it. He has two ice cubes. One of the lentil stuff, one if carrots. Then his bottle. Then I have my lunch and depending on whether or not he's awake he'll nom some finger food (this week steamed carrot and sweet pots) ill then have a pear and hell nom that.

Dinner is variety. Usually a yogurt. Maybe some finger foods.

Next week yogurt is coming after lunch and hell have food for tea too. I'm taking it very slowly. Oh actually tonight he had tuna, hummus then yogurt. Then his bottle.

Pikz · 30/05/2013 22:20

Kyz cheese sauce is butter flour Milk and cheese cooked together like this...

Melt 1/2oz butter, beat in table spoon of white plain flour, add milk whilst beating to smooth consistency and keep adding milk til requires thickness. Add cheese to melt and beat in. Done!

TheDetective · 30/05/2013 22:21

I think the cheezly is minging, well it looks minging. But if O likes it, fuck it! As far as I know it is fine for him, but will check all this out with the dietician tomorrow.

Fucking minefield. Hmm

horseylady · 30/05/2013 22:23

And remember he's one of the eldest her at 31 weeks. And it's only this week he seems to be 'getting it' more

Kyzordz · 30/05/2013 22:23

Ooh thanks pikz is it freezable or do I make it fresh?

gagging sometimes means vom here horsey and whilst I prefer vom to choking I don't want to put him off food

itsnotyouitsMeals · 30/05/2013 22:27

Thanks for the hand holding luis. All my sleep was this morning while DH & DM (am at folks') looked after the DDs.

det the paed said LO didn't have cmpi either or at least to try dairy again so I did and she was a shouty mess. Now doing dairy free BLW. . Am just giving her whatever we eat and not worrying as they all get there on the end. yw we have a breadmaker so just make diary free bread with the olive oil pure spread. And houmous rocks kyz. I live on it and it's good for the iron (am fake veggie - eat fish).

Posted a recent pic of DD2 on FB just because she's gorgeous!!!!

Am on wwf but forgotten user name. Will look it up x

Pikz · 30/05/2013 22:29

Kyz completely freezable. Have used it for cauliflower cheese, a pasta sauce with carrots and broccoli in and fish with lots of veg. It's a soft taste so LO seems to like it a lot.

FatimaLovesBread · 30/05/2013 22:31

I'm feeling a bit inadequate with all you wonderful weaning and knowledge etc. have people been reading books?
I'm just giving M whatever, obvs without salt.

She loves chunks of bagel and toast etc. I haven't been too bothered about her choking, she tends to suck and chew until it's soft and then spits chunks that are too big out. Am I being to blasé?

I haven't really thought about what not to give her (apart from the obvious eg. Honey) I know I haven't got the history of allergies etc but should I be watching what to give when? I thought once they were six months they could have most things.
How come you're giving beef last VQ?
And where did you get the baby stock cubes detective?

itsnotyouitsMeals · 30/05/2013 22:38

Oops. Took ages to post and then missed loads. Kallo low salt stock cubes are dairy and soya free. Used boots baby organic with DD1 but will check ingredients. Made a vegan quorn chicken leek and mushroom pie with a white sauce made from oatly and dairy free spread last night. Was delish. Jusrol puff pastry also diary/soya free. Mx

Kyzordz · 30/05/2013 22:50

Thanks pikz :) will whip some up methinks!

fatima theres definitely no need to panic the way I do,I am ridiculous and I know I am. Really wish I could chill a bit, hopefully I will at some point. Sounds like you're doing great after all m will end up eating what you eat anyway won't she so as long as it's healthy you can't go wrong I don't think

Elizadoesdolittle · 30/05/2013 22:53

I have the boots stock cubes, on the back it says no added milk products and no added soya.

Sorry haven't caught up in thread properly...just wanted to add that for yw.

Been really busy last couple if days hence no time to read or post properly. Spent the day at the south bank yesterday for my mums birthday, met with friends today and out again tomorrow doing more activities. I am off to see green day on Saturday so looking forward to that but bit apprehensive about leaving E with my mum. Sure it will be fine. She pulled her tube out Sunday, yesterday and today. The nurse has now trained me to put it in myself so that will be a lot better than going to the hospital all the time.

Hope everyone is well. Will try and catch up properly tomorrow.

FatimaLovesBread · 30/05/2013 23:11

Thanks kyz you seems to be doing fab with the weaning. I honestly thought I'd be more panicky about choking etc as in quite an anxious person but I haven't been so far, maybe I just haven't got the energy Grin

I did want to do some proper reading up on different weaning but I just haven't seemed to have time, that's what's stressing me out at the money. Time going too fast and not getting anything done. Ah well

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 30/05/2013 23:58

Popping in to mark place. Will try post tomorrow.

StuntNun · 31/05/2013 00:00

Midnight. I have given up on sleep tonight.

OP posts:
LuisGarcia · 31/05/2013 00:06

Yay, it's Friday. I get to cook. Chili, mushroom quesidillas, chimichangas, green and yellow rice and various dips and salsas.

nerdy foody dance

GTbaby · 31/05/2013 00:09

Hmmm. May try making a thick chicken soup next week. Chuck chicken and random veg with some stock in pan? And then blend. Easy? Is that the idea. Lol. I've never made soup before.

Chasing I give the same every day.
11am - Breaky was banana n a baby yoghurt. But LO seemed a bit puky after them. So have switched to half a weetabix and half a banana.

2ish - Lunch whatever veg I've puréed. Usually 4 cubes. Today was 2carrot n 2sweet potato.
6ish- dinner, depends on him. Dont always give food. whatever I can think of. Fruit, veg, yoghurt have given him chapati dipped in Greek yoghurt a few times which I aim to mk more regular. As that's what we have for dinner (plus other stuff)most the time.

ValiumQueen · 31/05/2013 00:28

J woke at 11.30 from his 5pm nap Grin

I took him downstairs as he needed changing for bed, creaming, antibiotics etc before his milk. He had other ideas, so he had half his milk, then above palaver, then other half of milk in nursery. Just waiting to see if he sleeps. How can it still be 24 deg with both windows open?

I feel very sad that I am looking at milk free weaning. It was all such a joy with the girls, but simple staples like yoghurt are out, although I plan to make some from his formula. The girls did like milk as much as him though, hence the yoghurt.

Kyz you are doing amazingly well. I do not do well with choking babies so I am choosing to avoid anything risky. I could not give him chunks of egg for example, and would struggle with a bagel. As for gnocchi, which I saw up thread, I choke on the little fuckers!

Hoping you all sleep well, off to dream of weaning x

itsnotyouitsMeals · 31/05/2013 00:31

Mmmmm Mexican! Wish I could have cheeeeese. Sounds yum luis. No sleep here yet either stunt though to be fair am just going to bed. Sleep my little girlies, sleep.

Night all

ValiumQueen · 31/05/2013 00:32

Pass, I did not know fish was a common allergen.

I choose to give beef later as I find it is quite a strong taste, and the girls found it challenging to eat and digest. Clearly my softly softly approach has made them food wimps Grin I do introduce texture, honest. I just personally do not believe in giving food that needs chewing before they have teeth. Although J can proper grind with his gums!

itsnotyouitsMeals · 31/05/2013 00:33

Agree vq am struggling without yoghurt and delish spreadable goat's cheese. Poor babas.

TheDetective · 31/05/2013 00:36

Fucking food. Am sat here starving!

I am fretting because I just made an obscene order from Next. I've never made such a big order. I generally buy in the shop, and never that amount.

Fuck. O needs clothes though. I have 2 outfits for him at present. Why? Because FUCKING TESCO made a baby outfit that requires SEPARATE washing from everything else. I did not know this. And now all O's clothes are a pale fucking blue. Livid doesn't cover it really, as some gorgeous stuff has been completely ruined.

So yeah. He has not many unruined clothes right now. Angry

I've ordered the toddle pod. Looking forward to it arriving. May I never have to rock the little limpet again. Please!

I too felt sad about O's weaning, but now I am getting my head around it, and thinking of ways to do it, I'm getting more excited and feeling happier. I'll share our successes here. Tomato pasta sauce was NOT a success!!!

TheDetective · 31/05/2013 00:38

VQ The Organixs fruit pots have been our compromise with weaning here. Wasn't planning on giving any jars etc, but given the lack of stuff he can have, and no yoghurt except home made, those fruit pots are the next best thing in terms of a pudding type snack thing. And he loved them.

I will make him some yoghurt, but not just yet. Probably in another month. When I've got through what we have to try now.

ChasingDaisy · 31/05/2013 01:06

Every two hours Sad Fuck.

LuisGarcia · 31/05/2013 01:15

LuisGarcia · 31/05/2013 01:16
