Jan 2013 Part 4: More noises, movements and more sleep?! Hmmmm

New thread!

I leave B during the night until he's making persistent noise - I don't usually wake up til then anyway! He's always wide awake; he's never done the dream feed thing. I tickle under his neck or blow gently on his face to keep him awake...

He's still in with us but will be going in his own room once his blackout blind arrives and we've given it a good Hoover. Probably in the next week or so.

B is still mostly in 0-3 clothes Shock. I've started putting him in 3-6 vests but his other things mostly look far too big on him still (he's 19weeks). Sainsburys stuff is bigger though, as is Asda.

Hubby has taken B out for a long walk so that I can get some of this marking done. Bailey seemed to think that 3 15min naps today was acceptable so he's been doing my head in and I've gotten absolutely nothing done. He's just point blank refused to sleep today.

Hello everyone. sounds like we're all struggling with something or other. Big hugs and Wine for you all.

We're back from our hols and Molly has two teeth and is sitting! octane we have been doing baby led weaning for a week or so in a very loose sense... as in handing over bits of our food when we remember, and letting her suck/chew/spit/smear it about. I remember being very excited with DD1, but it can be so stressful - I was so focused on her getting enough of it down, and each day got that 'oh God, I've got to do this again' feeling. Listen to pascha - let him play and one day he'll be gobbling it down and you'll have forgotten about the stress of the early days. Flowers

apple the puzzle story had me giggling. Grin

Well, poor Kate. Everyone is so focused on her. As if becoming a mother isn't terrifying enough when you're just a pleb - she must be under so much pressure. Hope she's cuddling that little baby right now.

Meringue33 · 22/07/2013 21:55

Love it Apples

Poor DS1 Pascha. Hope he recovers soon, must have been a fright!

Octane I CBA with weaning either! LO actually really enjoys it (when he's not too tired) and eats a lot. I just CBA with clearing up the mess three times a day - what a chore!

AppleCrumples · 22/07/2013 21:57

Octane what pascha said. At this point they arw just learning and still get most nutrition from milk. Just take it slowly. Must admit i still find the mess a bit frustrating.

Ivy.started well but has decided she is in charge and will spoon it in herself..only she can't obv!

Is too hot here its unbearable. Even worse we are supposed to get storms. I hate storms so am panicking a bit :(

Angie hope hols were good. Wow 2 teeth and sitting. Well done Molly :) Agree about Kate. Is scary enough for us all without the worlds media commenting on everything!

BuntyCollocks · 23/07/2013 03:54

I am fucking sick of this weather and this baby not fucking sleeping. I am so close to losing the rag. All she's done for the last two hours is whinge. I can see how some people lose it, I really can. All I want is some fucking sleep

lollipoppi · 23/07/2013 07:28

Grin Apple! That's so funny! Especially the willy piece I'm so mature

Octane, what pascha said. And also if it helps, I give breakfast while she's still in her PJs, then get her dressed after. And tea gets done in just a nappy then straight in the bath - just saves on washing!

Ahh Bunty, sorry your having shitty sleep, no help at all but sending your a virtual hug

it was soooo hot last night, I left all the windows open and the mother of all thunder/lightening/rain/hail storm arrived at 5am! Cue 2 screaming children and me and DP running round trying to shut all the windows

happyhow · 23/07/2013 08:26

I'm with you bunty. B's sleep has gone totally out the window the last three nights. He can be completely settled on me and the second he is put in his cot, he wakes up and whinges for ages. He used to be so good at settling himself... He's going in his own room tonight - hubby and I have had enough!

Everyone is telling me it's teething but the calpol/ibobrufen/teething granules are making absolutely no difference and he's totally fine and happy during the day.

Apples - your story made me laugh!

Still no rain here, and last night was sweltering. Annoyingly dd slept really well but I kept waking up because it was so hot.

Last night I managed to get her to sleep without boob, instead of letting her sick till she was deeply asleep I took her off but stayed laying down next to her. She whinged a bit but didn't actually cry, then to my surprise fell asleep by herself.

Sorry you are having a shit time bunty.

Pascha I hate wasps with a passion so you have my sympathy

mrsbugsywugsy · 23/07/2013 09:10

Sick = suck, obviously!

CreepyCrawly · 23/07/2013 09:23

happy Nancy has been the same. Since birth, she's had a maximum of one wake up in the night. 3 times she was up last night. She was going down at 7 and now refuses to sleep until between 9 & 10. She's not crying though, it's the whinging. She's also forgotten how to settle herself.

Hope you have a good day bunty

Ouch pascha! Bloody hate wasps. Luckily haven't seen any this year yet. Plenty of bees though, they're using my dog's weeing spot as some sort of sex club Hmm

Love the jigsaw story apple Grin

Well done Molly!

AppleCrumples · 23/07/2013 09:32

Bunty and happy sending Brew. Maybe its the heat and evrryone will sleep properly once its fresher [hopeful emoticon]

We had huge storms overnight! Torrential rain and massive claps of thunder don't know about lighting due to hiding under duvet like a wimp Ivy stirred a bit but no-one else woke up! Shocked as they were huuge crashes.

Tryinh to get boys to clean their room, its an uphill struggle but they need to be able to do their lego etc up there so is less dangerous for Ivy.

Bunny222 · 23/07/2013 10:16

bunty. happy really feel for you with the lack of sleep. We managed about three hours last night, between the heat, B rolling onto his front and getting stuck and then the blinking storm - loudest thunder ever!

tugs hope you're doing ok, have you seen your GP yet?

B is a bit wheezy again wonder if its this heat and how close is been.

Can't believe all the news about the baby. Can only imagine having to face all those cameras soon after giving birth. Poor Kate. It's so overwhelming I hope they give her privacy!

Meringue33 · 23/07/2013 11:53

Sorry about your sleep Bunty :(
I'm going back to bed for practically every daytime nap at the moment, even tho it means I get nothing done.

Just dealt with my first meaty poo. Yeuch. He weed in it too just as I was taking the nappy off just to make it even more interesting in consistency.

Anyone got any tips for making baby tilt back his head so I can clean food out of his neck wrinkles??

Meringue33 · 23/07/2013 11:55

And all the other non sleepers too (page hadn't updated!) xx

Lora1982 · 23/07/2013 12:27

Ugh neck wrinkles!! Ive given up and wait til im changing him so he will move his head to look at the telly

Lora1982 · 23/07/2013 18:18

What happens when they outgrow the jumperoo?! He's on number three now do I just ignore instructions and let him stay in it?

Pascha · 23/07/2013 18:36

REally Lora? Shock Danny is still on number one setting and he's only just looking like he might need the next one up. I seem to remember DS1 outgrowing the jumperoo just in time for him to start being more interested in cruising round the furniture, that was about 9 months I think.

Meaty poos? Yum.

Lets hope everybody gets a better nights sleep tonight though its so sticky here in Kent that I doubt it very much.

BuntyCollocks · 23/07/2013 18:46

Shock lora at dexter being so tall! Tbh I let DS stay in it last being too tall for it and he had great fun trying to shake it apart Wink

Thanks, meringue and pascha - also v sticky here :(

AppleCrumples · 23/07/2013 18:46

Ivy getting a cold i think :( poor thing is grouchy and snotty..although that could also.be the heat and major teething. Another tooth almost through. That will make 6 Shock

Even after last nights storms it is still too hot. Am fed up. It needs to be cooler so we can get out ans enjot ourselves

BuntyCollocks · 23/07/2013 18:46

And everyone else, sorry! Thank you Thanks

mrsbugsywugsy · 23/07/2013 18:55

Pah, no storm here, still hot and sticky. I want a storm Envy

Meaty poo? Makes me glad I'm a veggie Smile.

Dd also hot and grumpy and refusing to nap.

BuntyCollocks · 23/07/2013 19:26

Dd is currently trying so hard to crawl and is angry at herself. Quite funny and heartbreaking at the same time!

Ah, I missed the royal baby leaving the hospital! Does anyone know where I can watch it?

CreepyCrawly · 23/07/2013 19:30

bunty nancy is the same. She's managing to slither around by pulling her knees up under her and then straightening out.

It mad to think that this time last year we were all wondering if that was a little kick we felt, and now they're little people actually doing things.

newbie6 · 23/07/2013 19:38

Oh gosh, ashamed to admit I felt very teary watching Kate and William leaving the hospital with their new baby, I really hope the press leave them alone to be new parents. I remember feeling so scared of being in charge of such a small person never mind having all those cameras on you! Thought Kate looked lovely, wish I looked like that....ha ha!

Just think, our babies were born in the same year as a future king, I reckon they should get a commemorative coin too ;)

X

mrsbugsywugsy · 23/07/2013 19:58

Dd went to bed at seven today and I was quite pleased as she went down without feeding to sleep again.

Twenty minutes later we heard crying and dp went in to check on her. He found her on her hands and knees in the crib and facing the opposite way to how we left her, and with a massive stinky poo in her nappy Shock

Serves me right for gloating about the lack of meat poo cos of being veggie; there were lentils in there!

Pascha · 23/07/2013 20:47

Grin I feel a bit better about a soaked baby at 4am this morning now...
