Kyz, I've made bolognaise and tomato tuna sauce for pasta, Kyz, and blitzed some for R. Tuna tonight, will let you know the reaction Hmm he likes roast chicken with potato, parsnip and spinach though!

PetiteRaleuse · 26/05/2013 15:47

DD1 and DH were scoffing sea snails yesterday. The Frenchification of my daughter is complete :o

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/05/2013 17:30

kyz as long as you haven't added anything with salt in the lasagna should be fine I would think. O has just had his first beef and sweet potato asset ole and he loved it.

yw the girls stay at ex DH in week and come here most weekends and hols. I didn't fight in the beginning because I had had a really really tough few years and I had nothing left. In Hindsight it was best because they remained in their village at the same school, clubs etc and they weren't taken away from their stability at a time when they really needed it. In Hindsight I was weak and I should have fought for them because I miss them terribly when they are not here. What we have ended up with is two happy girls who know they have a mum and dad who love them that are doing really well in school and their prospects are good.they won't come to NI intially, they will come for hols. I have rooms for them as and when they might want to. We have agreed they can make up their own mind when they get to 11 or 12. I treat their dad like a work colleague, but I hate speaking to him. He seems ok with the girls but I have noticed a few minor things like how unproportinally upset they get if we can't find a hair bobble when they are going back incase they get in trouble. Hmm

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/05/2013 17:30

Oh, happy Mother's Day pr

MissMummy1 · 26/05/2013 18:18

Happy mother's day pr

Quiet on here today.

Just wanted to give sophia lots of virtual hugs. (and everyone who needs them right now) What an utterly shit thing you had to go through. If if is any consolation my sisters and I were witness to my dad emotionally and physically abusing my mum for years, and although messed up at the time we have all turned out okay xxx

We are having a picnic in our living room in front of crap tv tonight Grin . King prawns, crisps, dips, olives, naice bread and oils, tapasy chicken things.... and wine!! I can't wait Grin Grin Just to settle the small person first. At this rate it could be a midnight feast Hmm

ChasingDaisy · 26/05/2013 18:22

Evening all

I hope you have all had nice days in the sun Smile

Had a nice day here. Went back 'home' to see my Dad and Stepmum and spent the day in their garden. O had the collywobbles at first and cried at them but settled down surprisingly quickly and let then hold him. He even let my stepmum carry him to the other end of the garden and show him off to the neighbours over the fence Shock. Very proud of him. He loved pulling leaves off of all the plants in the garden and was fascinated by their Labrador. I only had a minor heart attack when he choked on a piece of cucumber Confused P and stepmum dealt with it well though and managed to get him to cough it back up. Have planned to take O to the zoo at the end of the summer - can't wait.

It was nice to see how much they dote on O and although we are not the type of family to talk about emotional stuff, I know they would have my back if it came to it. I know they will also be a good influence for O.

Happy mothers day PR Thanks. Definitely no last minute surprise?

PurplePidjin · 26/05/2013 18:30

Have they got a spare room, Chasing? Wink i stuffed up my MA, moved home to my folks aged 23 and had a fab time! My mum still regrets letting me move back out even though it was into my own (well, mortgaged!) flat Shock

Kyz tuna tomato pasta went down a storm despite teething grumps. The portion turned out bigger than i expected so i assumed he'd eat half and have the rest tomorrow. Nope, ate nearly the whole bowlful. And is now feeding to sleep Hmm

PetiteRaleuse · 26/05/2013 18:30

Last minute surprise: run out of ironed shirts so had to iron some. DH is even shiter at ironing than me which is why it is best that I do it.

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/05/2013 18:36

mm what crap TV are you picnicking with? I was looking for some as DH and DS1 are in NI but couldn't see any so recorded some crap instead!!! Grin I have risotto and rose for my picnic.

Lily311 · 26/05/2013 18:39

Thank you for your support, I really appreciate it. Had a good day today, O def is my medicine when feeling down, she is just so loving and sweet.

Can I ask the quiche to post some pic of your kids' bedroom pls? I need decorating ideas. O has been with me so far but she is getting her own room in the flat. I have furnitures but need some wall decoration ideas, has anyone Used stickers, wallpapers, etc? I'm thinking of jungle/animals theme, really can't and don't want to do pink/very girlish room though i can be convinced. Thanks.

I ate too much cake today. Feel sick.

I want this ^^ for over the cot. Unnecessary expense though so just neutral here. My mum is making some lovely curtains though, with frog princes on :o she found some gorgeous Liberty fabric reduced to £9 a metre!

MissMummy1 · 26/05/2013 18:57

BGT, Corrie, really scraping the barrel stv drivel really. May end up looking for a film on netflix and plugging the tablet into the telly Grin

Will post a pic of my picnic and M's room. We have gone for a woodlandy theme Lily. Just waiting for dp to hurry up and settle M!

ChasingDaisy · 26/05/2013 18:58

O doesn't have his own room but when he does, the first thing I am putting on the wall is a giraffe height chart! I Oscar loves giraffes. My ideal room for him would be white/neutral walls with colourful curtains, bedding etc and an animal theme. I like children to be children so it would be a fun room.

pidj they do have a spare room but I really really don't want to live there. Would be an absolutely last resort. I strongly feel that I need to be independent and I really dont want to take that step back. Plus I would hate O's frequent night waking to disturb them. And it would end in arguments.

ChasingDaisy · 26/05/2013 18:59

Celeb Catchphrase and BGT here tonight Grin

MissMummy1 · 26/05/2013 19:03

We have a giraffe height chart on the wall in the nursery - may be relocated to the hall wall outside it though as it's lack of woodland status is messing with my OCD Blush

Dixiebell · 26/05/2013 19:06

I'm not great with decorating themes, tend to just go with cream walls and brightly coloured accessories & pictures. Ds1 has these hot air balloon stickers, which would work for a girl too and look lovely. He also has a dinosaur height chart...maybe not so much for O!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/05/2013 19:10

I am white walls and bright accessories too. I had some lovely multicoloured striped blinds in the old house (circus stripe from Tinsmiths. If you want stripes Tinsmiths is it. They are online)

I will do white walls and wall stickers in the new house. Have seen some nice ones on the Not On The High Street website.

Xx

ChasingDaisy · 26/05/2013 19:13

I am such a sucker for Not on the High Street.

MM your nursery pic has reminded me that I want some cot tidies. Any suggestions as to where to get them? Or am I better buying material and asking my stepmum to make some?

PurplePidjin · 26/05/2013 19:13

Oh yeah, he's got a hot air balloon ceiling light with a fairy in the basket - guess I've got a Fairy Tale theme then Wink

MissMummy1 · 26/05/2013 19:23

Ours is from mamas and papas chasing They do some lovely ones.

I can hear whingeing but am tempted to open the wine while he fails upstairs...

YellowWellies · 26/05/2013 19:53

When we do Jonas' room its going to be based, colour wise on a stripey blanket from IKEA - (red, green and blue). He's got red furniture. I'm going to paint quite a simple tree mural on one green wall, there's going to be blackboard paint on the door panels so he can draw on it. And I'm going to upcycle the furniture with Polish folk art patterns.

When, being the big question. I'm focussing on the lounge, dining room and gardens first as he's no doubt going to want a say in how we do his room.

I like eclectic home made rather than a perfect theme / store bought stuff. He's got a lovely handmade moon hung over his crib made by a carpenter pal and a rainbow patchwork heart made by my sister, and a patchwork cot blanket made from the bridesmaid dresses from our wedding made by my step mum.

The latter is so lovely its going downstairs to be kept safe as little boys rooms are going to be disaster zones aren't they?

He also has Mr Cat as a permanent fixture in the nursing chair. He guards his room every night! No allergies allowed in this house Blush Blush Blush Shock

YellowWellies · 26/05/2013 19:58

Oh and the blue wall is going to be under the sea - with lots of fish. His Dad is a marine biologist Smile

YellowWellies · 26/05/2013 19:59

What's the betting he turns into some god awful petrol head with no interest in nature!!!!

ChasingDaisy · 26/05/2013 20:12

No chance YW - I have a good feeling about Jonas Smile

PurplePidjin · 26/05/2013 20:19

Petrol head would be fab in this house, YW, he's been up to Santa Pid for the drag racing already :o
