Thank you

TheDetective · 16/05/2013 21:14

You aren't alone pass. I feel neurotic these days.

I know I am not. But I still think I am.

I think I have split personality!

Passmethecrisps · 16/05/2013 21:14

horsey that makes a lot of sense. Thank you. P currently thinks that being given funny trees and spoons with slimy stuff on is the most fun game ever. I would like to keep it this way for a while

TheDetective · 16/05/2013 21:18

YW Could I be a lazy ass and ask what things you have found to be at least dairy free so far? That would be suitable for babies obv! Grin

Even if it is just pasta/bread. I am wanting to get O started on these next week. I was about to have a scout around - but if you know, please share! Grin .

I have now lost 12lb in 3 weeks. I feel very Grin about this. I want to get another stone off in the next month. I need to be back to my post pg same as pre pg! weight! And then I need to carry on losing.

I feel so much better right now, more energetic and my activity levels have increased thanks to fat shreddage.

BigPigLittlePig · 16/05/2013 21:20

Ditto what everyone has said. It's easy to get lulled into a false sense of security.

Det Thanks - get it all off yer chest, tomorrows another day etc etc. It's a little irritating when people start spouting off like that.

Forgot to mention, I saw something amusing today, which reminded me of PRs dd1, and other belligerent toddlers. 2 mums and 2 little girls, perhaps 3 yo, sat having a drink and a cake. The little girls had finished and were bouncing around on a sofa. Cue mum 1 saying "sophia, sophia, sophia don't do that. Stop bouncing, no, don't put your feet there, no, sit still, SOPHIA" and culminating in "do you want me to take you back to the car?" To which sophia replied "yes". And mum 1 looked like this Shock

Passmethecrisps · 16/05/2013 21:23

Lol det. Me too. Did I mention being at my parents with my sister and her baby? Her baby has been on solids for a month or so and loves his grub. He troughed a whole pot of some fruit purée stuff then downed his bottle. I could feel the eyes all on me with my baby who at 6 months eats no solids!! So, at lunch p cried to be on my knee so I had her koala style while I ate. She reached out quick as a flash and tried to stuff my spoon of icecream into her mouth. My dad commented "not ready, no?" And there was a sort of expectant silence. I knew they were all waiting for the moment when I happily spoon ice cream into the mouth of my delighted baby. I had to say "I would, but it's cow's milk" and I knew/thought I knew that there eyes were internally rolling. "Typical passme being all dramatic!"

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 16/05/2013 21:25

NEWSFLASH FROM THE BUZZY HOUSEHOLD

J ate some ridiculously smooth couldn't be called solids if you tried solids today!

Baby rice mixed with EBM so it was ridiculously thin and watery but hoofuckingray!

BigPigLittlePig · 16/05/2013 21:25

Pass FIL suggested I give F a chunk of roast beef last night. I was a bit like, "errr we've just started on pear puree and a bit of sweet potato, I'm not sure roast beef covered in gravy is a great idea" - I could sense the rolling of eyes. But she's on solids, right? So that means any solids, doesn't it??! No?!?

TheDetective · 16/05/2013 21:29

BigPigLittlePig · 16/05/2013 21:33
Shock
TheDetective · 16/05/2013 21:35

I can believe it too pass.

A sad story - can't say too much, but I used to work as a support worker to young mums just like me. One mum who had her child later removed, confessed to me that she gave him prawn cracker dipped in chicken and sweetcorn soup for his first food. At 8 weeks.

I cried inside. That poor little baby. :(

BigPigLittlePig · 16/05/2013 21:36

DH asked if he could give F a prawn cracker for tea tonight

Evilwater · 16/05/2013 21:38

Damn MN!
Sorry about not posting more about the possiable house move. Cast your eyes over this ladies. I like this one, what are your comments?

We are looking for a place between plympton to Exeter. We have both expressed a interest in moving to Bristol/ bath area, but we have no knowledge of the area.

YellowWellies · 16/05/2013 21:39

Pass Det feckers the lot of them (beloved family but still feckers). I get eye rolls when I have to tell the in laws that I can't eat anything they cook because label checking for just one meal is too fooking difficult so I end up with a plate of lettuce, cucumber, half a tomato, no dressing and a boiled egg ALL day whilst BF and they roll their eyes at indulging my 'faddishness'. With comments of 'Maybe baby wouldn't notice a bit of cheese if he doesn't see you eat it' (for real!!!! they clearly think he is just being fussy and can spot dairy visibly! Grin ). If it didn't cause the wee crittur I love so madly, horrible pain, I'd eat their food and show them the reaction.

Det I'll start a list. But get into the habit of checking labels as ingredients change.

TheDetective · 16/05/2013 21:43

Twunts yw bloody twunts. Hmm

I'm spending a lot of time studying labels these days! It's a new hobby of mine!!

Passmethecrisps · 16/05/2013 21:44

evil I think that house has loads going for it. On a personal level I think it would benefit from another bathroom and there don't appear to be any cupboards. The garden is lovely looking though, having a utility room and a garage is awesome and I like the slightly wacky architecture.

Passmethecrisps · 16/05/2013 21:46

Oh FFS YW!

I think my mum would have been eye rolling to the max at me in Sainbury's. standing there label checking muttering to myself/P "may contain milk. Well that's no bloody use is it? Creamy porridge? Well that'll be off the menu, eh penster?"

YellowWellies · 16/05/2013 21:47

On and baby groups with CMPI kiddies are a challenge - my sister gets lots of rolled eyes as she races to stop her toddler from nomming dropped / discarded biscuits and crisps from other kids at playgroup. Parents of kids without allergies PLEASE try to pick up after them - OK its a faff but easier for you to pick up after your one kid than for my sister to look for 20 dropped biscuits!! and better than a wee one having anaphylactic shock Sad

YellowWellies · 16/05/2013 21:49

So far he's reacted to 'may contain' and 'may contain traces' but not to products with 'made in the same factory' warnings....

Evilwater · 16/05/2013 21:54

Thanks for the info Pass
I don't really want to move, but the MIL isn't going! It's been 2 years in that caravan, and she not leaving. Angry MIL and his business would have the lower ground floor and our home would be the top.

Is anyone here a expert on fanjos??
TMI
I have this lump, which is getting larger and is now bleeding and leaking some puss. WTF is it?

Evil

Passmethecrisps · 16/05/2013 21:55

From what I can remember Ella's kitchen said may contain.

As a 22 year old teacher I took a boy recently diagnosed with peanut allergy resulting in anaphylaxis to Mexico. We had cards made up in Spanish explaining that he couldn't eat peanuts as he had an allergy.

On the last night of the month long trip we went for a nice meal. Card was handed over and after a few confused looks the waitress nodded confidently and took our order.

Boy took one mouthful of chicken, spat it out and ran to the bathroom. We waited outside for what felt like an eternity wondering if we should kick the door in on a 16 year old. Eventually he came out looking a bit pink. The chicken had been cooked in peanut oil. His tongue had swollen but he used his epipen almost immediately.

Turns out she hadn't understood the term allergy.

Passmethecrisps · 16/05/2013 21:58

evil sounds like a blocked pore or hair follicle. I have had one and it was fucking agony. I could barely sit. Keep it clean and have nice hot bathsZ mine went completely within about 10 days.

Having a property which would split like that would make a lot of sense evil. Was there a WC on the lower ground floor? If so you could make the utility room as sort of mini kitchen and restrict te business to the lower ground completely.
