I'm feeling much better thanks Det and Horsey - have figured out the back pain - heartburn. Reflux fuck the fuck off!!!! Grin and have chucked my preggo gaviscon bottle Angry

BPLP sadly goat and sheep milk proteins are so similar to cows milk protein its likely to trigger CMPI (in 90+% of cases) - they are good options if lactose is the issue but not for CMPI Sad

I think I'll speak to the hv tomorrow. Is there anything to reduce it though? He's been on an increased dose now and no improvement has been seen?

He doesn't seem unhappy really? Just everyday we have tears and then he'll vom. Or he just coughs and coughs and brings up the entire morning. That will only ever be the first feed though. It's always the first feed he's worst at?

Lily311 · 20/05/2013 18:17

I need to write a 2000 word assignment tonight. I've been reading the material all day but it doesn't make any sense. sigh. O was a good girl for my parents, she didn't cry or missed me (though I was only upstairs). She is 6 months old today and I think she cut a tooth but haven't had the chance to check it properly. Will do it tomorrow. She was up every hour last night, her nose was blocked and couldn't breathe (her mouth was occupied by her thumb). I think I mentioned before that I use a device which attaches to the hoover to get the snot out, it is a life saver and can't recommend enough. It reduces the pressure and it's very gentle, the snot comes out straight away. It's this one: www.amazon.co.uk/Baby-Vac-Arianna-NASAL-ASPIRATOR-BABY-VAC/dp/B004JA1XB2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1369070133&sr=8-1&keywords=nose+hoover

O has been O since I was 16. I knew that if I were to have a girl, she would be called O, I didn't anticipate that it will become so popular. Though in Hungary it is not even in the first 200. Luckily. I wanted her to have Aniela (OH's grandmother) as middle name but with OH's surname it sounded very Russian/Polish/Ukrainian. I settled on Rose to compensate the surname.

Happy 6 month birthday to O Lily Smile. Still thinking of you both.

I love traditional English names like Jack, William etc but felt they wouldn't go well with a Chinese surname. Oscar was a nice compromise.

Funnily enough, I have been in two long term relationships and both surnames meant that I wouldn't be able to have Jack as a baby name, which would have been my number 1 choice.

Detective O started playing with his stacking cups today and he loves them. I have built many stacking cup towers today.

How many sachets of Gaviscon is E having a day Horsey? J used to puke all the effin time like that before he started the Gaviscon last Tuesday, since then he has been sick twice and only very small quantities each time. Maybe you need to tweak E's dosage?

I'm all at sea with J's condition(s) now. Since last Monday I have given up eating eggs, he has started on Gaviscon and Ranitidine and he has come to the end of when he may have been having a sleep regression. So one week on he is no longer puking very much at all, sleeping better at night, seems happier, eating solids with a will and his eczema has virtually cleared up. So I don't know which improvements to assign to which treatments or whether he might have grown out of some of the issues he was having and it's coincidental. I suppose I'll have to drop them one at a time and see whether anything comes back. I suspect the Ranitidine dose isn't quite right yet (he's on the lowest dose) because he's still writhing a bit during milk feeds. I will start eating eggs again in a few days to see if that makes any difference to him but I definitely don't want to go back to what he was like a week ago. Too many changes too fast, I'm very glad he's improved so much but not quite sure where I stand.

Jacob is a fab name, never met one i didn't like. R's 10yo bezzie is a Jacob!

Raphael has been that since Wimbledon Blush it's MILs dad's name so in the family (we chose the ph spelling accordingly) We wanted good role models - Benitez, Nadal, an angel, a painter and late Great Grandad fir that nicely. Odette or Francesca if he'd been a girl. We quite like Santiago if the next is a boy, but might be a bit too Hispanic for a mixed English/Jamaican family!

horseylady · 20/05/2013 18:50

Between 5 and 8 single sachets.

ChasingDaisy · 20/05/2013 18:51

I also liked Oscar because of the Oscar Pistorius / London 2012 connection. Yeah, not any more...

horseylady · 20/05/2013 18:51

His excema is still the same.

MissMummy1 · 20/05/2013 19:01

Muppet. DP let M lie on the spare bed when I was at work while he pissed about in MY office tried to fix the unbroken printer Hmm . She fell asleep. This was 5pm and she is still sound. I have built a pillow wall around her and left her but this does not not NOT bode well for tonight. Of course he is on nights so not here to deal with the fallout Angry .

TheDetective · 20/05/2013 19:02

Fuck. He won't take it. Not even mixed. We've got no pepti other than 1 more bottle in fridge. Fuck fuck fuck

Lily311 · 20/05/2013 19:02

I understand that chasing. Oscar is very popular in London, I met many mini Oscars in the past year. My friend's half chinese boy is called Joshua and has a chinese middle name with English surname (mum is chinese). He is so beautiful, I can see similarities with your Oscar.

MadamGazelleIsMyMum · 20/05/2013 19:12

det rubbish. Hugs.

We had a really good reaction to DS's name overall. DH and I really struggled to agree, so I picked three names I liked that Dh could live with, DH picked three names he liked that I could live with, and we put them together with my choices as the first name, natch and I said DH could pick one of the combinations, mainly because after DD was born I insisted on a change from the agreed India Esme to Evie Imogen. Just as we entered the theatre, DH chose the Seth combination. I still like it, even though DD calls him "Seff" and people often ask me to spell it (??) and my Mum thinks it is dreadful! As for DD, sometimes I wish I had been braver and stuck to our original choice, but she just is so much her name now that I couldn't imagine anything different, even though she's one of a million Evies at nursery!

ChasingDaisy · 20/05/2013 19:15

We have given O two middle names - Joseph after my Grandad and a Chinese name from MIL's family. He has been blessed with beautiful dark eyes and hair but I'm still unsure as to how Chinese he will look when he is older.

Strangely, when I was pregnant I did have worries about how I would bond with a baby who was a different race to me Blush. Sounds horrific when I think back now and I love that he is a mix of two different cultures.

FatimaLovesBread · 20/05/2013 19:23

Ahhh these threads are moving too fast for me again Smile

Plan tonight is to sit down with the laptop so I can catch up on this thread properly. Research stew recipes. Write a shopping list. And write a camping packing list.

Does anyone know anywhere that has fleece all-in-ones that you wear over babygrows? M had one from primark but she's grown out of it and now that it's "summer" they don't stock them it seems.
I'm worried about M being cold at night camping, anyone know if you can layer sleeping bags?

M is teething, her first tooth is just cutting through so she's running a temperature and is a bit mournful and cuddly today.

How is everyone else?
I'll do a proper catch up post from the laptop

esmelovessqualor · 20/05/2013 19:25

Thanks Kyzordz, MissMummy1, PetiteRaleuse

I like reading about reasons for naming your DC. my DH and I were so convinced we were having a boy we hadn't really thought about girls names. Esme was dismissed pretty early on as it was my friends cats name but after she was 5 days old we revisited and decided we liked it.

Esme was an awesome cat too.

Has anyone's DC had reactions to weaning? Since she's started eating she's had pretty constant diarrhoea. She doesn't seem bothered by it and doctor wasn't concerned but it's been 10 days now and it must be pretty draining (no pun intended)

Lily311 · 20/05/2013 19:26

Madam India Esme is as pretty as Evie Imogen.

Oscar will be a heart breaker. Usually mixed race kids are just so beautiful. My brother's wife is mixed race, her father is from Nigeria. My nephew has slightly darker skin than O but my oh my, his hair is just adorable. He is so so cute, the girls will love him.

Lily311 · 20/05/2013 19:28

esme O had diarrhoea for 2 weeks. 6-7 runny poos a day. It settled now but I was worried.

Dixiebell · 20/05/2013 19:28

I still live Ted/Teddy (he gets called both equally). And am pleased that I got DH to agree to two names I chose! DS1 is Arlo and I still like that although we do get more comments/questions about the origin of that one. Both boys have Great Grandfathers' names in middle -Peter and Victor, and I like that connection. Betty was going to be our girl name! Although if we did ever have a girl I wonder if it's a bit too similar sounding to Teddy to be used now.

Dixiebell · 20/05/2013 19:30

Love, obv.

TheDetective · 20/05/2013 19:31

I've put a MN plea out for Pepti 1. I'm hoping someone might have some we DP can drive and get.

esmelovessqualor · 20/05/2013 19:32

Lily311 good to hear it settled down, fingers crossed E will be back to normal soon.

Do you think it was a reaction to a certain food or just the change from milk to introducing solids?

esmelovessqualor · 20/05/2013 19:33

Dixiebell Arlo was our boys name if we had one. Love it!

BigPigLittlePig · 20/05/2013 19:35

Welcome esme. We have had the opposite problem with Fs tummy, she is completely bunged up. Although after 2 days off solids I am hopeful things might start to shift...

She excelled herself at bathtime tonight. She weed on daddy before getting in the bath, managing to get each item of clothing he had on wet good girl, then managed to do a poo in the bath with me. Nice.

I remembered something a friend at uni used to make, she was dairy intolerant or something. So I made it for pudding as was still craving sweetness. 1 mashed banana with a handful of oats and raisins, made into a patty and fried, with golden syrup on top. Nom nom nom. Craving, done.

ChasingDaisy · 20/05/2013 19:50

Oh detective MN can be very good in times of crisis. Is it prescription only?
