Knackered after walking round the zoo and then took the dog for a run this evening. Ok, a walk, but a fast one.

YellowWellies · 18/05/2013 21:29

Secondary lactose intolerance can be a side effect of the gut damage caused by CMPI. Jonas has it and as there's nothing I can do about the lactose in my BM he is exposed. Normally its not an issue but it can cause foul smelling explosive nappies.

I did wonder why no one had mentioned Pepti junior to us Sad

kirrinIsland · 18/05/2013 21:29

I posted earlier but it didn't appear Confused so I am now a little behind.

Madame I would have responded like that. Why on earth did he need to wake you to tell that? Where else would he be going? Hope your day has improved.

PR I am currently being applauded for peeing by DD1. A tad embarrassing in public loos but tbh it's nice to feel like I've achieved something!

I took her to the farm today - her first trip out with no nappy. She did well. No accidents, but she was a little reluctant to use their toilets at first. Very pleased with her. She did manage to spill a full cup of juice all over herself though, so the spare clothes i'd bought came in handy after all!

I suspect I've missed the group hug but I was comforted by the thought! Hope everyone is doing ok.

I'm going to risk going to bed early. I did that last night and N woke up 5 minutes later and stayed awake for 2 hours. So I'm not sure if I'm being sensible or tempting fate. Time will tell.........

TheDetective · 18/05/2013 21:33

Yes Kirrin, same here. Tonight we haven't yet had a wake up. Maybe it's my minging shirt? Maybe it's the lack of solids. Maybe he finally feels sorry for his poor knackered parents? Or maybe I just put the right foot on the floor when I stood up. It feels that fucking random, doesn't it?!

DS1 is in the dog house. He is upstairs making noise. I've told him if he doesn't cut it out, he will have to go to bed when O does. Fucking noisy kids. I swear if he had woken O, I'd have thrown all his electrical goods out the window, and perhaps him after them!

BigPigLittlePig · 18/05/2013 21:41

Friends popped over at 7, smack bang in the middle of bedtime. Fine. Just settling F at 8.30 when PILs waltzed in too and played pass the baby. Apart from anything else, I look like a tonne of shite as haven't got round to washing my hair for a few days. And hayfevers been a bitch so no makeup. Oh well.

SOrry to harp on and on and on about this CMPI stuff, just trying to get my noggin around it. F did have manky eggy explosive nappies when I was having milk. They have gone and we now have weaning nappies wish they were normal bm ones, not that I can remember what they were like Does this mean she is likely to be just CMPI? And not lactose intolerant? Lactose intolerance is rare, right? Gah, fuzzy head.

ValiumQueen · 18/05/2013 21:47

bp true lactose intolerance is rare. Secondary lactose intolerance is fairly common. Nutramigen is suitable for babies avoiding lactose soy and CMPI.

Passmethecrisps · 18/05/2013 21:49

No expert BP but I would be very surprised if F was lactose intolerant. Much more likely to be CMPI. You are not 'harping on' either so wheesht with all that!

And what is with people just dropping in? Eh? Get tae fuck! I was aghast when two seperate lots of friends stayed well passed baby bedtime when round for lunch. In my head baby bed time was leaving time - they had been there since 12!

Can you have Wine. Never heard of a Wine intolerance

ValiumQueen · 18/05/2013 21:50

Ok quiche, J is on Nutrimigen but has now got really quite bad eczema. He has had one rusk and no BM for 6 weeks or so. His skin has been dodgy for a while, and the rusk made it no worse. I will be taking him to the Dr this week anyway about the Ranitadine, so will mention it then. Any thoughts?

Passmethecrisps · 18/05/2013 22:03

Hmm. No idea I'm afraid. Could he still be reacting to the trace amounts in nutramigen?

Dexter series 5 in the bag!

YellowWellies · 18/05/2013 22:08

Hmmm its not going to be the nutramigen (are you on AA?)... Maybe a food reaction but also maybe something you're bathing him in / washing powder? A wee patch has appeared on Jonas' knee crease but it came up pre-weaning so I'm thinking its not food based. Thankfully he's not scratching it.

BPLP F is most likely to have CMPI maybe with secondary lactose intolerance resulting from CMPI. True lactose intolerance is super rare and all the kids I've met allegedly with it seem to have had their CMPI ignored Blush

BigPigLittlePig · 18/05/2013 22:18

I feel extraordinarily guilty that I didn't try without dairy sooner. When I think back to all those nights of screaming agony, hours and hours of wailing and tears, which I could have avoided.

VQ as J has been poorly, could that not have triggered off the worsening of the eczema?

Passmethecrisps · 18/05/2013 22:19

P has eczema - on her face, chest and knee creases. She hasn't had any allergen since she was 4 weeks old so likely just genetics (?) or her skin. Same with J?

Passmethecrisps · 18/05/2013 22:21

When we were in hospital the docs all used lactose intolerance and CMP intolerance interchangably. It was me sticking with CMPI that made them use it consistently. No wonder the paed recently was taken aback by me using the terminology

YellowWellies · 18/05/2013 22:25

I didn't mean you BPLP Blush!!!!! I was thinking of DSIL who was ignored by the docs for months until her FF DD's CMPI had worsened to full blown lactose intolerance. Sorry hon xxxxx

ValiumQueen · 18/05/2013 22:28

Not related to illness as it has been a while now. About two weeks after he started on the Nutrimigen so not linked to solids either. Perhaps he needs AA. I dunno. Need to look at my diary and see if there is a pattern. Around time ranitidine started come to think of it. I will check side effects when I am more awake.

Need to attempt sleep. J has been coughing a lot. I am so tempted to sleep on his floor but I know my coughing would disturb him and I would not sleep either. He has a good monitor and I could be in to him before I could heave my old fat arse up off the floor anyway.

ValiumQueen · 18/05/2013 22:32

BP don't feel bad. Breast is best, or so we are told. Sometimes it causes problems. My poor J suffered dreadfully. He is my third and you are on your first. Don't feel bad honey x

BigPigLittlePig · 18/05/2013 22:36

YW hadn't even twigged about your comment! Just have been feeling guilty for a few days, it's just part and parcel of motherhood I guess - beating yourself up over things which aren't really your fault. I do not now what I would have done without the quiche. My baby would still be hysterical and in pain, I would be sleep deprived beyond all belief. I would probably be on anti-depressants. The quiche have saved my bacon.

Passmethecrisps · 18/05/2013 22:40

[pig] ?

Passmethecrisps · 18/05/2013 22:40

[rasher] ?

[bacon] ?

Passmethecrisps · 18/05/2013 22:41
Bear

Could look a bit like a pig

kirrinIsland · 18/05/2013 22:41

Well, at least it was a bit longer than 5 minutes. Why she feels the need to wake at half ten these days I've no idea. I'm liking the right foot comment detective - you are so right about the randomness.
Fingers crossed this is just a mini wake up.

I am in awe of you guys dealing with intolerances. I can't begin tom get my head round what you are talking about, it seems so complicated. Thanks to you all.

ValiumQueen · 18/05/2013 22:44

Had a google. Skin rash sometimes, but this is not a rash.

An odd thing.... Since his illness his poo is no longer green. Lovely korma colour. Bizarre.

BP I am doing the whole guilt thing too. It is part of parenthood I am afraid.

I am very grateful for the quiche too.

BigPigLittlePig · 18/05/2013 22:45

Me neither kirrin - that's why I've been thread hogging tonight!

Is it too late to eat bacon? I want bacon, and pancakes, with maple syrup.

FatimaLovesBread · 18/05/2013 23:21

Finally got a sleeping baby in a cot!! Thank fuck for that Smile

LuisGarcia · 18/05/2013 23:51

{Chasing}

bplp guilt is a synonym for parent. You're doing a fine job.
