Hi LAdies

Not posting much at the moment all i would talk about is money stress, dh illnesses and stress, my weight I am getting so fat all of a sudden so today is start of the diet, DS is a joy thankfully and i had a great girly weekend away with friend over from oz and some other chums and then a bbq with the male contingent who were not invited.

One of the girls announced her pg she is 40, massively overweight, has constant health issues and is only 6 weeks gone really hope it doesnt go badly. I didnt take it well said some awful things to DH which i know just stem from jealousy but Good news is DH can see how down i am overall about wanting another baby and he has said we can so now just to sort out his health and job neither of which will be easy tasks.

off to catch up!!

Aethelfleda · 22/07/2013 16:48

where's this thunder then??? Well?????

OP posts:
NorthernChinchilla · 22/07/2013 20:04

Aw, figgy, guess there's a silver lining then. Sorry to hear your DH isn't well, is it a long-standing thing?
I'll join you with the stress- I've had insomnia the past two Sundays, which is a sure sign I'm stressed. Only other time I've had it was the year Mum was seriously ill.

No word on buyers, another viewing tomorrow, sigh.

And like you aethel, praying for this heat to break!

Figgygal · 22/07/2013 20:41

He has joint problems and in the damaged joints he gets bursitis ( gout like) can barely walk been like this for almost 2 months now he's finally seeing a dr tomorrow until he gets it sorted he can't look for a job or hold one down so he's struggling thru what he's doing making no money (but at least at the moment he doesn't need to commute). until these things are sorted no baby 4 us must learn to be patient ......eek

Royal baby is a boy I thought girl I get these things wrong all the time

NorthernChinchilla · 22/07/2013 20:46

Oh that sounds painful figgy, my Mum has rheumatoid arthritis which meant she had to retire early on health grounds. It's awful when these things just 'flare up'.

And congrats to Kate, hope they're all doing well!

NorthernChinchilla · 23/07/2013 06:13

...........and been awake since half fucking four because of the thunderstorms, and couldn't get back to sleep because I was worryworryworryworryworry about the house.

Great.
[severely pissed off face]

CheungFun · 23/07/2013 07:00

We're still waiting for thunderstorms here, but the air has definitely cooled down!

Strangely I'm looking forward to hearing what they name the royal baby! I do feel sorry for Kate though with the whole world watching her and all those photographers waiting outside the hospital, I'd find it very overwhelming.

OiMissus · 23/07/2013 08:42

Morning all, why is it so hot/humid when the sky is so dark and it's just rained?
Congratulations to Dr Mopsy!
(I thought I had already posted this, but I can't find a post so maybe it was swallowed by the Mn gremlins again. (It wasn't the post that was withdrawn though).
Continued good luck with all things housey. (We are a busy lot! If our DH's had a similar thread they'd probably barely mention house stuff / because they never do anything!)
Ugh - in the horrid heat of yesterday evening, I did 2 hours ironing. It was awful.i don't like ironing at the best of times, but when you're dripping with sweat and your hair is sticking to you neck it really is most unpleasant!
Ok figgy - DH had said yes to baba, when he gets job/illness etc sorted. That's a step forward.
Btw my colleague has chronic rheumatoid arthritis, in Denmark, she lives on a cocktail of steroids and tablets and leads a normal life most of the time.

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 23/07/2013 09:23

Congrats Mopsy!

It's so hot. I'm dying. DS HATES thunder and kept me awake half the night then threw a massive strop about putting on his wellies this morning. It's half past nine and I am already SO OVER today. I've got a stack of work to do, I think I meed to make a big list.

Aethelfleda · 23/07/2013 10:11

sympathies for all who melt... northern at four oclock I woke up hot and uncomfy, heard a distant rumble of thunder and instantly remembered I'd left three loads of washing out (including a full load of nappies and all our swimming towels). Reader, I got up and took it all in at four in the morning. Any neighbours about would hve thought me bonkers!.... And yes it rained shortly afterwards but it's still intensely humid here. More rain please!

Have given up on my office and gone to work elsewhere (next to a window).

I'm so tired. I had an extra shot in my over priced coffee this morning, and the barista actually said 'you know that means it's a five shot coffee'. I just looked at him, bleary eyed and sweaty and he goes 'ooooookaaaay, one of those mornings?' Yes, it is in fact One Of Those Mornings.

I had a bit of a rumble with the inlaws last week. They were griping about how some casual friends of theirs were trying to get custody of some children in their family and how the social workers had messed the children up by removing them from their parents without reason. The SWs had to come round to the house in the middle of the night (with police) and remove the kids forcibly, and the court ordered the parents to stay away from each other as their relationship was so damaging to the kids. My inlaws think the SWs did this for funnsies, basically, and would not listen when I pointed out that it's not exactly an easy process, and there are a hundred hoops to jump through before they can do something like that, and that there was probably a lot going on in this situation that they did not know about. BUT, they are Daily Fail addicts and would not be argued with. The SWs do not want to give this older couple custody of the children, which rings alarm bells to me.

OiMissus · 23/07/2013 10:29

(In fear of sounding like a perv...) I hope you were naked. I have a lovely image of a pippi-longstocking-esque cartoon lady prancing around the garden, pulling at pegs, and disappearing below a growing mountain of freshly laundered whites. Grin
This weather does make me a bit pervy though, i admit. It's a shame my DH is an annoying idiot, I could really do with... ahem.
We ate al fresco again yesterday, most pleasant evening, we did a couple of cryptic crosswords together, it was all v nice. Then we came inside and I started doing the ironing, I immediately went into mrs mega-impatient mood, and he became very irritating, every word he said just riled me. I realised I was in a foul mood (i mean, why didn't I just say, you do some ironing for a change?), and I warned him that I was in the wrong humour for jokes, but he carried on talking to me and being annoying.
We should go to bed earlier, before he has chance to annoy me, then itches would have better chances of being scratched.
we have dtd already since the last AF - put it in the record books! - due to consumption of alcohol+hot weather. Queasy tummy and irritability are telling me I could even be pg again, already... I'm probably jumping the gun rather a lot, I'm a few weeks away from doing a test though.
ha ha! Dh would probably ask who's it is! ha ha! and Boi would kick his head in for me. Grin

mopsytop · 23/07/2013 10:37

Thunder here too. Lots of rain. But sticky and humid. Ugh. Hanging up laundry indoors sucks!

Yesterday was so shit, we were recovering from the bug/knackered and minim was very cross. So we decided we might as well get all the shitness at once and threw her soother in the bin. Meant to wean her from it sometime this month so decided just to get on with it. Cue an hour of screeching, running to bin and crying. Then at bedtime two hours of non stop screeching/heartbreaking crying. Then she finally fell asleep but was sobbing in her sleep. I felt AWFUL Sad

QueenofClean · 23/07/2013 10:54

Mopsy hope you feel better soon.

Sky went for poop on the potty this morning Grin knew she was ready as she doesn't like wearing nappies anymore and can tell me when she needs to go. She pulled her nappy off this morning and sat on potty, refused to put a nappy on afterwards and is happily sat in panties now eating her snack at the table with her big sister Smile

AnAirOfHope · 23/07/2013 11:25

congrats Dr Mopssy Thanks

Congrats Skye on potty training

Congrats on driving test and good luck xx

Thanks for the fan and icelolly Aetha

Have a great day everyone xx

Figgygal · 23/07/2013 12:40

We didnt have much thunder last night or i slept through it which is very possible!!

Think i need to take DS to Dr he is really struggling with pooing and has been for a couple of weeks now, have given him lactulose at times but doesnt seem to make a difference. HE drinks plenty, has lots of fruit but not sure he eats enough veg as that is high fibre and may improve things but when i dont feed him 4 times a day not sure how i do that? I had issues my whole childhood and it is a family thing but boys are usually immune so hopefully he hasnt inherited my guts.

His eyes and nose are streaming constantly and he coughs in the morning i am sure it is all hayfever but DH panicking there is something wrong with him.

Oi you would be super fertile if you pg again do you want us to say fingers crossed?

CheungFun · 23/07/2013 12:48

Queen that's really good and very early for potty training! Saves money on nappies too :)

I took DS to the HV to get him weighed out of curiosity, but she said they won't weigh them between 1-2 years old, apparently they'll measure his height and weight at his 2 year check. Still, it was quite nice to have a chat with her and get some feedback on how DS is doing. He decided to show off and do the stacking rings in record time which impressed her, then he decided to play hide and seek behind his buggy! The HV said with boys not to bother with potty training until at least 2.5 years which is fine by me, and I got some potty training tips. The HV also said because DS is so obsessed with puzzles and figuring things out for himself it is fine that he's not talking yet as they tend to only concentrate on one skill at a time.

DS can now point to his head, ears, nose, hands, feet and tummy when asked which is cute. Apart from the food throwing he's very sweet at the moment! I think he might have said ''all gone" this morning when he had finished eating his cereal, but I'm not 100% sure!

CheungFun · 23/07/2013 12:57

Figgy it's probably worth taking him to the dr just in case. It's definitely easier to get kids to eat fruit than vegetables though. I've been giving DS oatcakes as snacks as he seems to be permanently hungry, but these might be a good idea for lunch instead of bread? Apples and bananas are good to have each day to avoid constipation, and of course dried fruits such as prunes!

I've been making homemade ice lollies to get DS to try different fruits. So far we've had mango, fresh strawberries with yoghurt, kiwi & banana. I just purée it up in the food processor and freeze it overnight and voila!

ifyourehoppyandyouknowit · 23/07/2013 13:21

Oh. My. Fucking. God. The heating is on in my office.

SevenReasonsToSmile · 23/07/2013 16:53

figgy I'd take him. I find fruit tends to work better than veg anyway tbh.

queen well done to Sky for using the potty. Eva took her nappy off this morning (she loves sitting on the potty but never does anything) and done a poo on the floor Hmm. Thankfully it was the laminate in the hallway not the carpet in the front room.

oi I got pg again on the cycle following my first AF after my mc, so second cycle, it could happen. Also curious as to whether we should have our fingers crossed.

mopsytop · 23/07/2013 16:54

Oh dear Hop. What a pain in the swizzle :(

OctopusWrangler · 23/07/2013 19:34

Can summer and it's holidays be over now pleases and thank yous? I have a potentially broken washing machine and a melted toaster so far.

OiMissus · 23/07/2013 19:39

I don't know if you should cross your fingers or if I should have crossed my legs!! (Hee hee!)
I'll take on whatever happens. I'd be delighted to be pg - for me and BOi. And the marriage will do whatever it does.
In other news, DH has had an offer on his house. A bit below what is wanted, and we think that his house share partner won't like it, but we don't think it's so bad. The offerer says he won't shift, even though this was his first offer. DH is going to speak to the partner tonight.
I believe if it's sold any proceeds will be put into a holding account until we sort out the marriage. DH may need it to help set himself up...

OiMissus · 23/07/2013 19:41

Toasters and washers have nothing to do with summer! Get off my summer! I want it to last forever! Shoo! Shoo! Leave it alone!
