Prepare to be upgraded (if you can catch them!)

I was indeed having a baby! We've been home about an hour.

As yet unnamed baby girl arrived at 1719 on Tuesday 6th August weighing 7lb 9oz.

Obviously she's perfect Grin

Cripes faffin that's some extensive building work, I thought ours was bad with 2 days of industrial drills digging up the floor. Love the family picture too :)

I was wondering about kat earlier, whether she's lurking or off having a baby. Just to horrify you all, Beatrice is 14 weeks old today!

I like the haddock thread, we haven't had any haddocks for ages.

I'm grumpy, it's still too hot. The majority of our house is south facing, even this time of night the living room is still over 25 degrees. I love autumn, pretty trees, crunchy leaves, and apple and blackberry crumble mmm

Evening!

I like peril's title! Or the haddock one, actually :)

I reckon kat is orf having a baby....let's hope so anyway!

Yeah, lots of dribbling and teething nappy rash over here (poor DS :( ). However, lots of holiday activities and bribery with icelollies to compensate. He's having a whale of a time in our garden with the paddling pool and "planting" things then watering them non-stop with his little watering can: today he had four changes of clothes as it's simplest to just let him get on with it then change him after! I luffs the summer (when it's not too hot!)

Glad to hear you're on the mend now Northern. Keeping everything crossed that your sale progresses smoothly.

I too am crap at thread names. I did in the past suggest the bad pun of: Not tonight dear, I've got a haddock....but surprisingly you chose something else Hmm

Thanks for asking seven. It was going pretty well, but as was inevitable, we've hit our first problem with the build this week. It's a single storey extension, and the plan was to put a big steel in, prop up the upstairs wall, and then knock down the downstairs wall. The builders discovered however that our (230 year old) wall was rather crumbly, and so it was too dangerous to do that. They've now taken down the whole wall, and will build it up with new materials. Sadly it's trashed our spare room and spare bathroom that we only put in a couple of years ago, which will have to be restored to its former glory when we have walls again. It could be worse though, at least it didn't collapse on anybody, and the new wall will be far better insulated. I'll try and pop a photo on my profile of what it looked like when I returned from swimming with DS this afternoon Shock

DS has been a stroppy boy today. He's really snotty, and I think his teeth are troubling him again, but he was awful today. Tantrums over everything, which I got quite bored of by bedtime. No wonder I feel tired! DH told me this morning he'd been up with both DD and DS during last night, and I slept through it all. This never happens. Usually it's the other way around, so I have no idea how long they were crying for before DH woke up Blush

Any news from kat yet?

Hmmmm......will have a think about thread names.

Was ill, really ill yesterday- up in the middle of the night dashing to the loo ill. For someone who always drags herself to work I knew I wouldn't make it in. So spent all of yesterday asleep on the sofa or in bed, dying by degrees. Thankfully it seems to have been as limited as it was violent, so I've been wibbly but functional today. So commute's not been too bad cheers Xiao, especially as I got a lift to the train on the way back, and met two of my colleagues on the way in!

I loved the Crow Road peril, they've re-shown it recently and I missed it, gutted. The book's brilliant, and I've read most of his Iain M books too Xiao, which of his two genres I also prefer.

hinky, DS has only in the past week- literally- started with the odd word: 'oh no', 'more' 'ta' etc. Like you, I feel a little uneasy: I'd raise it with the GP/HV, but wouldn't actually start to get worried until the 2 year point.

There's a lot of variables seven - the level of the picture (think it's graded 1-5), whether it was 'just' possession or supply or manufacture, number of images, then all the previous good/bad character, etc. He may get a suspended sentence if it's literally one or two of older teens, but it does sound like it'll be a custodial. I'm so sorry to hear that about your MiL- there's standing by your family and then there's her approach.

I am appallingly jealous of your wedding holiday mopsy, it sounds heavenly. Care to swap lives for a bit?!

The 'sold' sign went up today- still being pessimistic, but got mortgage paperwork to fill out asap...so it rolls on!

Something about tantrums?

Does anyone else's LO keep taking their nappy off? It's driving me mad, thankfully we haven't had any accidents since the traumatic poo on the hallway floor though. The hot weather doesn't help as she's often in dresses, and shorts she's worked out if she sits down and pulls them down over her knees then stands up they come down though that does prove she's a genius as it wouldn't occur to me as a way to get them off

In other news I ordered a MacBook Air this morning, can't wait until it arrives!

figgy for DS I used to stew some tinned prunes (in juice not syrup) in boiling water for a few minutes, then let him drink it when it had cooled down, it worked every time. DD1 has the opposite problem unfortunately.

figgy, maybe also try some prunes whizzed up with watered down orange juice? if all.else fails I find lactullse.sorts it eventually. I was giving her 10ml twice a day before it worked though.
