Oh and tell me about it stunt - although it needs everything replaced, the gorgeous 5 bed townhouse is on for £70k Shock ! Here with that required amount of renovations you wouldnt have much change out of £200k. Double that on the Edinburgh side of the river! For a 3 bed new build semi we would pay £95k there (poss less as FIL is close friends with the developer). We have just looked at a near identical new build in a comparitavely naice town for £165k Shock Shock Shock

Passmethecrisps · 14/05/2013 08:27

Bugger sophia!

I agree that running might not be for the best luis. However, some good sports physio first might be just the thing.

What a fucking night. How can you put a baby with a mild cough to bed and be woken hours later by a baby with full on thick green snot who can't breathe? How does that happen?

For the first time ever p ended up in our bed on me. I am not sure whether she was just wanting comfort and cuddles by the time it got to this as we were all a bit passed ourselves.

She is back in bed already but I can hear her coughing and moaning.

She had a poo.

Please go back to sleep P!

Dixiebell · 14/05/2013 08:44

I'm beginning to feel a bit envious of you people experiencing sleep regression...Teddy can't regress as he's never slept well! At least with a regression you can come out the other side. Last night was 9.30, 12.30, 3, 5, then up at 6. No DH so couldn't even employ his shushing skills for the later ones. At 3am I realised that as DH is not here needing to get to work, there was no need to have ds1's groclock set for 6.15. So I snuck into his room to reset it. High risk strategy, as could have ended up having him awake at 3am for the sake of an extra half an hour in bed with only one boy to entertain, not two. Paid off tho. Phew.

BigPigLittlePig · 14/05/2013 09:02

Det [stupid pig emoticon] - why can't they have eggs if CMPI?
Chasing given what I've just polished off for breakfast, please do call me pig - it is highly appropriate.
MM sounds like exciting stuff
GT glad the pain is improving, I remember having to sleep on my back wedged in with a gazillion pillows. Not nice.
Luis I agree with what everyone else says. Running is a bitch on the knees - it would be better to start with something like swimming which is very low impact. Cycling puts a lesser amount of pressure on the knees than running too.

Not a bad night here, just need to work on getting her to sleep in her own bed again. Tricky because turns out I love cuddles in bed with her all night Blush. DH doesn't feel the same. Probably because he's squished right over on the edge of the bed Grin

BigPigLittlePig · 14/05/2013 09:03

Just realised it sounds a bit like I called det a stupid pig. I meant I am a pig, and stupid. Obviously Blush.

I'll shut up now.

MissMummy1 · 14/05/2013 09:05

Wowsers! Can I share my eBay win with you all?

I need a dress for a very posh dinner dance in July. I tried one on in the Ted Baker outlet yesterday. Loved it. But couldn't justify £270 for a frikking dress. Quick ebay search last night and I have just won it (complete with matching bag) for £15 BNWT Grin Grin Grin I can ignore the fact it wasnt in the colour I liked for that Grin

StuntNun · 14/05/2013 09:14

BigPig CMPI is strongly associated with soy and egg intolerance. So if Detective delays giving egg to O then there's a good chance he will outgrow the allergy. Babies can be born with food intolerances / allergies due to exposure in the third trimester.

Kyzordz · 14/05/2013 09:19

Morning all. As usual I've yet to catch up properly, sorry to read p is a snot monster pass :(. We have Doctors at 9:40. He was only sick once in the night and kept his morning bottle down. FC he's getting better. I am still taking him doctors.

Hope you all had good nights :)

Passmethecrisps · 14/05/2013 09:49

Oh yeah kyz! I meant to say you are so not being OTT! Poor E and poor you. It sounds awful.

Hooray on win MM! Linky please.

BP I had bolognese on toast for brekkie. Yumma.

VQ nothing but cuddles for you. Hope you are feeling better this morning.

P did go to sleep but frikkin crispkitty decided that this should mean quality time for us. She tried to wake me 3 times with ever increasing pressure from her claws! I say tried as I wasn't asleep but ignoring her. I am now on the edge of the bed with her on my knee. Poor thing is lonely but I get so frustrated with her. Follows me around everywhere, sits on me the second my arse touches any surface, comes in to 'help' settle p with yowling and running around like a mental thing.

No regression here dixie not going to lie. My heart goes out to anyone who has regular nights like we has last night. I am painfully aware that that was normal for many. I feel like fucking death. Talk to me about this Gro clock. I saw it mentioned on katie's sleep thread. Tell me of its wonders - I would have set it for longer than an extra half an hour fo sho

ValiumQueen · 14/05/2013 09:55

Good luck at the Doctors kyz

You seem very gifted in bargains MM please could I task you to find a spotless top of the range Maclaren single buggy in a boy or neutral colour, with rain cover, buggy board, cosy toes etc for less that £50? Grin

Boy woke at 4.30 but self settled and slept until 7. Well done.

Knicker girl was gutted to find pee pee in night nappy, but has happily trotted off to Nursery with knickers on, and other clothes too, thankfully.

Eldest forgot her sodding school bag so muggins had to walk all the way home and back again, with buggy and baby. I had asked her if it was all ready. Grr.

DH washed up!

FatimaLovesBread · 14/05/2013 09:56

Wooo M slept from 1am until 8am with a brief waking when DH got up for work at 6:30am. Yay! I suppose I should ignore the fact that I have her a dream feed at 10:30pm yet she still woke two hours later. But 7:15pm -8:15am with only two feeds, that's more like it!

Still umming about whether to start weaning, I need to read back through the threads and see what you're all doing weaning wise, seems I didn't remember much of it with my crappy baby brain and M being a little younger so I didn't think I needed to think too much yet.

QQ - when they have a chunk of melon or something and they bite a bit off, did yours automatically swallow it or did it take a while to get used to it?

Also starting to worry a bit about what to do milk-wise when I go back to work. Seems to be getting near fast

ValiumQueen · 14/05/2013 09:59

Thank you all for your kind words and hugs btw. Feel a bit better after a sleep, and it is just me and boy today, and he is asleep in the pram after mammoth walk.

pass poor P. yes, it is amazing how snotty they can get. Once they can pick their noses and smear their snot everywhere, and sit up to cough and vomit out the mucus it does get a bit easier.

ValiumQueen · 14/05/2013 10:01

QQ : should I give raspberry boy a rusk to munch? One way to find out if he is intolerant to wheat I guess. No milk, I checked. This is as near to BLW I hope to get.

ValiumQueen · 14/05/2013 10:02

fatima melon is beyond me so cannot help. I would think they spit it out, or choke, which is why it is beyond me.

BigPigLittlePig · 14/05/2013 10:10

Fatima F has only succeeded in biting a chunk of banana. It vanished. It became apparent it was stuck to the roof of her mouth. Whilst I had a heart attack she pulled a variety of faces, then spat it out. Smaller bits do however, seem to disappear in a permanent fashion. F is one of the younger ones, and I've started with purees in earnest this week. She has 1 icecubes worth, three times a day before feeds (can't get her to eat anything after a feed or in between). She also gets various bits of food to chomp on with limited no success. It's quite good fun!

Stunt thanks for clarifying!

VQ glad to hear you're a little brighter today - the wonders of sleep!

Sophiathesnowfairy · 14/05/2013 10:26

mm is ok I can be your new family ( although I will be South Down is not that far!)

My washing machine door seal is fuckity fucked. Can I have an extraordinary sweary Wednesday on a Tuesday for that?

MsJupiterJones · 14/05/2013 10:29

I'm really interested that everyone else with CMPI is avoiding potential allergens when our paediatrician has told us to try it all. Maybe because we had the blood test so they are reasonably sure there won't be a severe reaction? We've not spoken to a dietician and our appt at the allergy clinic is in October by which time I guess we will know about most things.

We did egg last week, don't think any was swallowed but no obvious reaction to having it in his mouth.

Fatima L started off by just getting used to having bits in his mouth which he'd let drop out, then started chewing and swallowing. If he chomps off a bit that's too big he will let it drop out. His newest thing is to stuff something halfway into his mouth, then let go and chew it while it is hanging out. Eg broccoli spear will have the bushy bit in his mouth and the stalk sticking out, so he looks like a sort of caricature farmer chewing a stalk. I am gently discouraging this.

VQ I am sorry you are ill. I am ill too if it helps (I know it doesn't), am sending sympathy and pre-vased self-watering not too bothersome Thanks

BigPigLittlePig · 14/05/2013 10:32

Pussypig has excelled himself, again. If anyone knows how to clean a sheepskin rug, then feel free to hop over to this fred and help me out. Bloody cat.

ValiumQueen · 14/05/2013 10:42

JJ thank you Smile Interesting what you were told about potential allergens. I have had no advice really, and must admit I am a bit nervous about it all. I have always left eggs until they are a year old, unless cooked in something like bread.

I can hear J scratching the fabric on the pushchair. So much nicer than screaming. He is a wonderful baby.

ValiumQueen · 14/05/2013 10:43

I too have been looking at property in NI. I think I saw the house you mean MM.

ChasingDaisy · 14/05/2013 10:53

Morning all Smile

Bad night here. Too early for 6 month regression but he has never slept well so fuck knows what is going on.

O is just napping while we await our visitors, will try and catch up properly later.

Fatima O is one of the youngest at 24 weeks tomorrow. He doesn't entertain purees so we have been doing finger foods. Broccoli is good as he noms on the tree part and can swallow the tiny bits. When he has babycorn for example, he bites bits off and then spits them out. And laughs. I'm seeing it as practice at the moment and I'm sure in time he will learn to chew and swallow. This week I am planning to add breakfast and will try some fruit puree. I am also planning to start giving water from a sippy cup consistently at meal times.

A lot of us are posting weaning pics on the fb page, it is a good source of inspiration Smile

MissMummy1 · 14/05/2013 10:59

Gas man has fused all of our electricity. Angry
Was it the one on Millisle Road with the blue kitchen ceiling and the hotpress in the bathroom? Maybe we should both up sticks and move over Grin Sophia I would lov to be in your family. Your kids sound like so much fun Grin

MissMummy1 · 14/05/2013 11:00

Cant link dress from mobile but will post photo when I get it! Need somw critical advice on the colour - it is a greyish brown. The one I fell in love with in the shop was a coraly red. But we can forgive the colour if we can afford to buy new shoes now too, surely? I love ebay. Wink

BigPigLittlePig · 14/05/2013 11:04

Chasing F appears to have had an early 6 month regression. Maybe O is following her, just for a change??!

Cacacaz · 14/05/2013 11:05

Hello ladies and Luis

LuisI have an ongoing knee injury, for which I had physiotherapy, I found cycling alongside using recommended exercises from said physiotherapy sessions.

sophia bollocks re washing machine

Pass hugs for snotty P. Kyz poor E, I hope he feels better soon.

Stunt despite having first aid training, I would have massively panicked. Well done for staying calm.

MM I need bargain finding lessons from you. How exciting about the possible move.

Fatima I saw your holiday pictures on Facebook. M looks as if she thoroughly enjoyed the sun.

VQ and JJ get well soon.

We started weaning on Sunday. Carrot purée was a massive success, he had some at lunchtime on Sunday, yesterday and will have some more again today. Tomorrow we shall try either sweet potato or butternut squash. I am currently only offering one cube, when did you all increase amount of food per meal and increase number of meals per day?

I am currently waiting on some new blinds being delivered and fitted, including a blackout blind for Murray's room. We are currently still sleeping in the same room. Planning on moving out of M's room at the weekend but feeling rather nervous/ emotional about the fact my baby is growing up so quickly.
