Crappy night. People with bigger dc why has dd started wetting the bed after being out of nappies at night for a month?? Three out of four nights now and we have no idea what to do.

Utopian sounds like a lovely day so nice your dh got to spend some quality time with ds

MaMaPo · 27/05/2013 04:29

Utopian, that's interesting about car screaming. We have that too, but I thought it was because of the novelty (C has only travelled by car since we've been in Audtralia, we don't have a car in London). Perhaps she might have been like this regardless?

Another terrible sleep last night. Holding her for a nap right now. Is this the 4 month sleep regression arriving at 24 weeks? I hate it, it's like having a 3 month old again.

Can't wait to get on that plane. Can't wait. 2 more days.

Visited a friend this morning to show off baby C. They have a 2.5 year old, and my friend is 9 months pregnant. She was due yesterday and can't wait to go into labour. I did not envy her one bit, whether being so pregnant, about to give birth, or have a newborn. No cluckiness here.

utopian99 · 27/05/2013 04:48

mama, it's interesting about the cluckiness, I don't feel broody at all but as we always said we'll leave a small age gap we're going to start again in about a month.
Not that I don't want any mor least not yete, but I sort of am following the plan, IYKWIM. Am really enjoying O now since about 3 months, but for his sake we want a small gap as my brother and I have 18 months..

MaMaPo · 27/05/2013 05:15

Oh, and I have posted in the sleep forum -www.mumsnet.com/Talk/sleep/1765388-6mo-dummy-swaddle-jet-lag-and-napping-Im-so-confused

Please let mr know any advice if you have it!

WillYouDoTheFandango · 27/05/2013 05:26

Mama I'm not sure if it is a delayed 4 month regression or something else but we have it at 23w today. I can't put him down to sleep, day or night. He's also waking 2 hourly. I'd forgotten how hard it was!

It's my morning off can't you tell? Hmm DP did the 2:30am feed in our bed, so obviously I was awake all through it. And when I got up to feed DS again he said it's only 5:10. Don't I know it?! I let the fucker him sleep in till 9:15 yesterday and I get another 5am start, lovely!

SpottyTeacakes · 27/05/2013 05:59

I don't remember the last time I slept past six Hmm I've got a horrible headache and am feeling very sorry for myself.

Mama I hope things settle down for you once you're home.

WillYou I feel your pain with two hourly feeding.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/05/2013 06:49

Mama if I were you my plan of action would go like this:

Get home and sort jet lag out by sticking to bedtime and morning quite rigidly trying to keep total day time naps to 4 hours

I'd then sort the swaddling and play it by ear wrt the dummy. Ds sucks his fingers sometimes. You might find for her though that it's a novelty and once she's been out of the swaddle for a little bit she will happily keep her dummy in and her fingers out of her mouth. Or she might prefer her fingers.

halestone · 27/05/2013 08:21

Mama, i've left you a message on your thread, feel free to tell me its crap if you want.

Willyou, hope your asleep now or if not, shock DP later by passing your DS over and telling him your going back to bed for an hour and not to disturb you (hahaha evil laugh).

Spotty hope your heads ok now, i really hope your not getting the bug i had. Its mostly gone now just a really bad headache still.

Utopian i always wanted 3 children but after the birth i said no more but i've started to soften again now. But DP said there will be no more ever he has 2 and thats quite enoughHmm

Look away now if you've had bad nights but the last 2 nights H has gone into her cot at 11pm and woke up at 7:30am Grin. Today i put her on my bed to change with her bottle next to her which she kept grabbing so i lay next to her she had 6oz. Then she rolled over tucked her body into mine and fell back asleep, shes still asleep now so i'm going back to sleep GrinGrinGrin

SpottyTeacakes · 27/05/2013 08:23

Hales I had a horrendous birth with dd, second time is a breeze Smile

FriendofDorothy · 27/05/2013 08:51

Has everyone still got their babes in their rooms.

I am thinking I might move The Little Mister into his own room this week.

I feel sad that my little boy is growing up so fast! :(

SpottyTeacakes · 27/05/2013 08:55

Ds will be in with us until he's sleeping through Hmm as he will have to go in with dd

WLmum · 27/05/2013 08:58

hales that's so cute. I had dreadful birth with dd1 and elc with dd2&3 - much easier!

mama before I had dd1 other people's baby and pg bellys would make me feel super broody but since having my own, they don't. My own dcs and the memory of being pg have made me feel broody. Not sure if this will change now we're done though!

WLmum · 27/05/2013 09:01

T is still in with us and I'm not really in a hurry to move her out. She still has on average 2 night feeds and its so much easier for her to be next to my bed. Maybe if she drops down to one ill move her.

Stacks · 27/05/2013 09:48

Terrible night last night. T was unsettled from 11 til 3, culminating in lots of screaming :( He was coughing lots, sick (right inside my pj top, yuk), snotty and desperate to chew hands/blankets etc. we gave him calpol at 2:30 which seems to have worked. Still woke me at 4:30 and 6, but went back to sleep both times, and didn't get up til 8. So tired today. He's just spat out all his medicine too. Sigh.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 27/05/2013 09:49

J is still in with us, he's pushing it though! Last night he played from his 2 feed until 3:30, noisily!

I put j back in bed at 5:40 and he slept until 7:30 when I snarled at DP that I supposed it was my turn to get up again ShockGrin He got up and I slept until 9! It was awesome. I did apologise for being so grumpy when I came down.

ISpyPlumPie · 27/05/2013 10:00

N is in theory in his own room, and does spend the earlier part of the night in there. He's often back in with me by about 3 am though (see earlier post re: unintentional co-sleeping). I will perserve and sort it at some point, but this seems to be working quite well for us atm (he spent similar amounts of time between his crib and our bed when he was in the same room so apart from the first very unsettled night, moving him hasn't really changed anything).

Mama - I'm sorry I don't have any helpful advice but I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay and that the journey home goes well.

Spotty - DS1 was in nappies at night for a long time after he was dry in the day. In fact, he's been sorted for day time for over a year but we've only dropped the night time nappies over the last couple of months. They were most of the time, but there'd be the odd soggy night. The HV told me that it's nothing to worry about and that it wouldn't be considered as a potential problem until he was 7 Shock which surprised me. She did say more typically you'd expect a child to be dry at night the summer before they start school, so (if this is right) might still be a little while to go for your DD - but hopefully for your sake it will click before then. Oh, and belated happy half birthday to DS.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/05/2013 10:43

She's been dry at night for a month though that's why it's odd Confused

Hope everyone enjoys the sun today dp has just taken the dc to his nan's then we need to pop to sainsburys and pc world. Hoping for a nice lunch but will likely be KFC Hmm might pop to the next village fete later.... Gave ds raspberry earlier, sucked a bit then spat it out, also gave him toast which he just held and looked on in horror when it touched his lips!

itsMYNutella · 27/05/2013 10:55

Did you not out some marmite on the toast spotty? That might be what was missing Wink

WLmum · 27/05/2013 10:56

spotty on the nights she wets is she very tired - it's usually about being in a very deep sleep so not recognising/responding to cues. I've got a nice waterproof changing mat that would prob be big enough for her bottom to sleep on - think it came from the nappy lady.

SpottyTeacakes · 27/05/2013 11:04

Umm it did have marmite on nutella Blush now his hands smell of marmite Grin

Hmm not sure WL she is quite tired at the moment, it was only a tiny wee one night though! We have a good waterproof mattress cover it's really nice because it's not plasticky but I might put a towel on it too to save the constant changed. I suppose we should just ride it out? For all I know she could be going through a developmental change?

itsMYNutella · 27/05/2013 11:21

Well Spotty I don't know what was wrong then Wink - I love marmite!

Just spent almost 20 minutes changing DS - seriously I've never seen so much poo!

itsMYNutella · 27/05/2013 11:22

Oh - and I might buy him a potty and try that crazy elimination communication thing... He seems to poo best when he is lying on the changing mat!

WLmum · 27/05/2013 11:26

Nice nutella!

I feel absolutely shocking so have taken to my bed. DH has got all 3 downstairs/in the garden and is bring me T for feeds. Bless her little face lit up when he brought her in and she saw me.

itsMYNutella · 27/05/2013 11:35

Sorry you're poorly WL, hope you feel much better very soon! Good that you can rest though. (((Hugs)))
