Ski, babyC is like that going to sleep at the moment - all arching
And fury, needing feeding to sleep. Doing my head in, sleep has regressed so much since we came to Australia. I hold out some, but little hope we'll see improvements when we get home.

Both my parents have left now, I'm with the inlaws until I head back to London next week. Hum. Miss my parents already, they are completely ace. Luckily I get to spend time with my sister and her family tomorrow.

Right - time for a dreamfeed. Can we fx that she sleeps ok tonight? In fact, fx for all the december babies!

SpottyTeacakes · 23/05/2013 13:43

IsThat sorry for your lack of sleep, I'm sure we'll be back there soon as DS always seems to be a couple of weeks behind yours!

Hales that's rubbish, hope you feel better soon

Welcome to the club ISpy, will it be cheaper to not go through the insurance? Our no claims are protected but it still makes the premium go up (go figure?!)

Barbeasty I'm sure A will love all the attention at nursery :)

Mama sorry you're having such rubbish sleep, it won't last forever, she'll be at school before you know it Wink (most unhelpful comment ever to someone who is sleep deprived)

SkiBunnnnny · 23/05/2013 14:09

Sad hope you feel better soon hales.

That is so cute WL, hope your dd has fun in the play.

Good that sleep in improving for you spotty, your supply should adjust accordingly soon enough.

I've got my fingers crossed that you get a good sleep tonight mama, and also that things get better once you're home.

Barbeasty, it's a bitter sweet moment. She is showing how much she loves you by wanting you around but it makes you feel guilty at the same time. She will be fine after a couple of days of you being back, I'm sure.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/05/2013 14:13

Toy of the day......a pair of dd's tights Hmm

IsThatTrue · 23/05/2013 17:07

hales I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks for the sleep condolences, I think it's worse as DH isn't here so I'm not getting to sleep until after the midnight feed whereas normally I would be asleep from 10. 6.5 hrs is bearable, 4.5 isn't! On the bright side DH is home tomo!!! Grin

Well I but the bullet and went to the baby clinic for weighing as its the only thing that puts my mind at rest that he's growing ok Hmm he's now 16lb 8oz at 23 weeks and he's nearer the 50th line than the 25th he was born on :) I should stop worrying. Oh and the hv was great she just weighed him, asked if I had questions and let us leave! :)

SpottyTeacakes · 23/05/2013 18:06

That's great IsThat! 2lb more than ds at 24 weeks!

MaMaPo · 23/05/2013 19:08

Ouch - up every 1.5-2 hours. 5 more nights until I can come home.

MaMaPo · 23/05/2013 19:09

Not that I'm counting down or anything.

SkiBunnnnny · 23/05/2013 19:14

That's great isthat, sounds like he's doing really well. You should definitely stop worrying.

Toy of the day here is a tube of mascara!

IsThatTrue · 23/05/2013 20:34

Oh mama sorry to hear crap sleep is putting a dampener on your trip.

We started weaning yesterday. DS is 24 wk on Saturday so I don't feel too bad. I would have liked to get to 6 mo but we're not far off. He demanded food when I was eating by getting very very angry at me. He had a little mashed banana. And later a tbsp of veg soup. Today he had a small amount of weetabix and a tbsp of veg soup. I need to make more veg soup as I only had the 2 baby portions. I forgot how messy they get. He's been plonked in the bath twice today as it was the easiest way to clean him! Lol I love the antilop high chair though as I take the tray off and just plonk it in the bath after him for cleaning!

Stacks · 23/05/2013 20:50

Our dr appointment was good, very friendly and happy to medicate T. He's now on domperidone (anti sickness drug, empties the stomach quickly so there's nothing to bring up) and ranitidine (inhibits acid creation). However it's going to be awful to give! One is 3 times a day, one 4 times, and the ranitidine tastes foul (contains ethanol an peppermint flavour) and makes him gag and vomit if we're not careful. So that's drugs 5 times a day now! We've also set up a bedside cot today. Just the cheapest ikea cot built up with 3 sides instead of 4. Hoping to shift him into it at least once overnight. Maybe between the drugs and new bed I'll get more than 2 hrs of sleep. Fx.

We had a bad night last night. T was awake between 12:30 and 4am, he wet through his nappy (which I didn't notice till 2:30, bad mummy) then just wouldn't settle. Had me up hourly from 7-10:30, and after 4, getting up for the day at 6:30. Dare I say it can't get much worse?

Spotty, sleep seems to have suddenly improved for you. How is DS behaving now? Any happier through the day? I wonder if T is just overtired all day long as he's not getting any quality sleep either.

Hales I hope you feel better soon.

Mama hope you get more sleep soon. It's a real shame you're not enjoying your holiday because of it.

Toy of the week here is an unopened pack of Quavers crisps.

SpottyTeacakes · 23/05/2013 20:53

I'm trying ds with ready brek tomorrow now he's used up the one pack of baby porridge I got. He'll have parsnip and carrot until it's used up then I'm just going to give him what we're having I think.... Need him to sit up so I can give him finger food...

Starting baby massage on 10th June (finally got round to booking it!)

SpottyTeacakes · 23/05/2013 20:57

Stacks I'm glad the appointment went well that amount if medication sounds tough. Generally ds is much better through the day, he has his moments but nothing like before. I really think it could be the weaning who knows if it will last though.

itsMYNutella · 23/05/2013 21:03

Stacks that sounds like a positive Dr's appointment. FX the medicine helps!

DS seems to be sleeping ok but he had a big melt down earlier today when trying to out him down for a nap. In the end I gave up trying to get him to sleep (he was screaming and I'd been trying to get him to sleep for almost an hour) and instead got him ready for bed a bit early. Fed him. Put him in his bed and in the end gave him calpol because he just didn't seem right.... Poor little mite. It isn't like him to get so worked up. Hope he's ok.

I heard a tip abut the antilop chair - you can lift off the chair and get it in the dishwasher apparently.

Barbeasty · 23/05/2013 21:20

Stacks A seems to quite like domperidone, so I've been giving the 2 medicines together. I give the ranitidine first then follow it immediately with domperidone. I give it 15-20 minutes before a morning, lunchtime and evening feed. It seems to work well....(I'll curse it now but since I started him back on both we've had 2 sick free days).

The domperidone is 3-4 doses a day, and I can't be doing with second guessing 20 minutes before A is hungry, so I'm sticking with the 3 doses.

Hales I meant to say ealier, I hope you feel better soon.

WLmum · 23/05/2013 22:07

Hope it helps stacks.

I'm feeling quite down. I know it's just the prolonged tiredness and total inability to get anything done with some challenging behaviour from dd1 thrown in, which will all pass but right now I'm fed up. Am scratchy with DH too as we're not communicating well at the moment. I keep trying to go to bed but then remember things that have to be done. Harumph.

utopian99 · 23/05/2013 22:09

Tried to post earlier saying get well soon Hales (damn phone ate my post.)

Glad you're getting more sleep spotty..

Had a very brief, intense rant at my poor mother as I've been having a dreadful week. My computer has corrupted itself thanks for nothing bill-bloody-gates, I'd have bought an Apple if my employer hadn't been making me redundant for being pregnant at the time and all my work as well as personal files have disappeared. Then a car dealer wasted most of my day yesterday (long boring story,) and then the blind in the bedroom of the flat we're staying in fell down. It's a family favour letting us stay here so we need to sort it AND I feel worse than if it was our house.

Had a properly childish rant at mummy, who calmed me down - it's funny how even as adults our parents can always make things seem less awful. Smile

Toy off the day here is the tub of cocoa powder. Almost a very messy toy.. Hmm

WillYouDoTheFandango · 23/05/2013 23:55

Get well soon Hales

Hope the medication starts to help now Stacks

And WL get to bed!

Glad your mum provided a listening ear for you to rant to Nutella.

Major sleep/feeding regression here, DS hasn't eaten all day and after going to bed at 7:40 has so far been up at 8, 9 and 11 for 3oz a time. I think it may be a long night Hmm however just before he woke at 11, he was sleep talking. Cutest thing ever!Smile

WillYouDoTheFandango · 23/05/2013 23:56

Oops utopian not Nutella sorry

IsThatTrue · 24/05/2013 00:18

stacks is DS bf or ff? If ff you could try talking to the docs about prescription formula. My ds1 had Enfamil which basically thickens when it touches the stomach acid so although he was still a sicky baby it was more posseting as opposed to the throwing up of while milk feeds. If bf ignore the above :)

I've been roped into a running group starting next tues! Eeek I haven't run anywhere in over a year! Back to Zumba sat morning though and starting to eat healthily . Not a diet as I find that if I restrict my calories or forget to eat it dramatically reduces my supply, but I will be trying to eat less processed crap and whole packs of biscuits/share size bags of chocolates

Well it's midnight and yet again I haven't been to sleep yet, just finished work and now heading for my bed. I hope DS sleeps a little better tonight.

MaMaPo · 24/05/2013 00:32

Heading into day 4 without poo. We've gently started weaning but nothin since Tuesday (Fri morning here) and he had some water then. Otherwise fully bf. Do I need to worry?

Sorry for brief mememe comment!

IsThatTrue · 24/05/2013 00:37

I wouldn't worry mama but maybe try drinking some orange juice, that normally gets them pooing explosively all over their best outfit

SpottyTeacakes · 24/05/2013 06:29

Sorry you're struggling WL is there anyway you can get to bed earlier? I know you have busy evenings.

Hope your night wasn't too bad WL.

Weaning has changed ds's poo completely mama he didn't go yesterday so I'm waiting for it today! I would try IsThat's suggestion.

Ds decided not to go back to sleep after his 5:45 feed Hmm and just lay there blowing raspberries instead...

WLmum · 24/05/2013 07:19

About 3 hours broken sleep last night :-(. T had her usual 2 feeds and was good enough settling after but the cot sensor alarm kept going off and I was up lots for dd2 who was coughing horribly - she's been hospitalised twice for asthma so its always a worry. The dilemma is whether to give her inhalers which can make her hyperactive! I did give them to her, and calpol as she felt hot. I feel a cbeebies day coming on (after her gym class and pal back for lunch and play before school pick up).

Hope everyone else did better and that poosplosions are imminent/tidy!

SpottyTeacakes · 24/05/2013 07:25

Oh no WL poor dd2 hope it doesn't get any worse.

Ds slept until 2 then 5:45 but wouldn't go back down after that apparently raspberries are great early morning entertainment Hmm
