I had wondered about cranial shiz as well. P seems to twist her head at a very odd angle sometimes. Specifically when feeding. I asked the nurses when she was hospitalised and they said they had noticed but assumed that it was due to me only recently (two weeks previous) stopping BF. But P never actually BF. I pumped exclusively.

Ach well.

DH and I are eating cheese and listening to old skool gangsta shiz. Bring on Nate Dog!

Chasing

The flat head thing. Do you notice he favours looking to one side more? Is the flat bit at one side or right at the back?

S had physio for positional talapes (sp?) and the physio noticed she was favouring looking and holding her head to the right. It meant that that bit of her head was going flat at the back. She said it was some muscle thing that can happen during the birth, especially if it was a quick birth. She did some exercises with it and got us to encourage S to look the other way. It was fixed very quickly.

So if the flatness is uneven dont let your HV fob you off. Ask for a physio referral.

If it is right at the back then S is the same and I think it will fix itself once they start sitting up more.

Interesting talk about alternative therapies. It's my next shot once we have O weaned on the spuds CMPI formula. We had really good service from Tesco pharmacy of all places today. I only had one tub of the stuff, and was expecting it to last the weekend, as I didn't think O would be taking bigger mixed amounts so soon.

GP did the prescription, but wasn't ready til 5pm. Tesco Pharmacy ordered the milk in anyway without the px so it was there when we took the px in. They even rang the wholesalers to make sure they had it as I needed it by the end of tomorrow, and tomorrow being a saturday and all.

The last time I tried to actually buy it, it was a total nightmare, so expected similar. Phew.

So tomorrow going to try O with 1oz LF and 7oz cmpf if he takes that fine he should take it without any by Sunday.

Need to make up a whole new batch of purees though!

When should I expect to see difference? 6 weeks? Or sooner?

Have fun on your holibobs Fatima so jealous! Would love a holiday. No chance here!

Chasing O has a flat head at the back - did you notice it? I'll take a picture of it tomorrow. His is pretty directly at the back. Odd as he usually sleeps with his head one side or the other - no real preference. I noticed it about 6 weeks, and it was a sudden appearance, got worse every day for a week and then it stopped. Confused

He also has a bald patch in the same area. Hmm I spoke to the HV at the time who said to observe and go back to them if it got any worse. It didn't, so I've left it for now.

TheDetective · 03/05/2013 22:06

Fucking hell. This diet thing is fucking expensive. Shock

DP just told me we have spent our entire months food budget in 2 weeks. Shock Shock Shock

Pikz · 03/05/2013 22:10

Roo big hugs

We have been to a cranial oesteo after the breech birth. Found it absolutely fab for LO completely chilled him out.

Izzy hope the night is a better one

Evil I could not live with someone who spoke to me like that. Huge hugs.

Det he is a complete wally... I hope you have slapped him about a lot.

Been making LO eat green stuff the last few days as I was frightened he would think all foods were orange. He eats all of it hit still prefers butternut and pears. So I've made butternut and leek and also butternut and spinach for him to try along with pear mixed with plum.

ValiumQueen · 03/05/2013 22:11

Another shit night for settling due to fucking wind. Gave granules which helped. I am sick of this cycle of being better for a week then getting worse again. I am not looking for it or doing anything to make him worse honest!

Would gaviscon negate the effect of the ranitidine as well? I think my next move will be swapping to carobel.

Buying parsnips tomorrow. Can deny the wee man no longer.

DD1 has an electronic pet. In its fridge there are over 40 of each food type available in the app including sweets and junk food. It is proving an interesting lesson in budgeting as she has no coins left for clothes or medicine Grin it is also much much fatter than my pet.

ValiumQueen · 03/05/2013 22:15

Detective an improvement should be seen fairly quickly but can take up to six weeks for full therapeutic effect. You have the advantage that the reflux is being properly treated. Why do you need to make new puree?

ValiumQueen · 03/05/2013 22:17

All my babies have had bald patches at the back.

YellowWellies · 03/05/2013 22:19

VQ it might be he needs a stronger antacid - omeperazole maybe? Also wind is a feature of CMPI especially if he has secondary lactose intolerance, so it might not necessarily be meds related.

I felt the same when we were working out which meds worked best for J - you feel like some Münchhausen's nightmare back at the docs again and again. It will get easier xxxx

ValiumQueen · 03/05/2013 22:24

YW his wind was so much better on the LF milk even, and no problems on the Nutramigen until the ranitidine started. To be honest I think the reflux was less painful than the wind, but he is sleeping so much better. I dread going back to the doctor as he will say some smart comment about trying yet something else. I will call the dietician and ask her to liaise.

ValiumQueen · 03/05/2013 22:26

Off to sleep hopefully. I left the pet on downstairs and DH jumped out of his skin when it woke up, as it sounds like a gremlin. He was not amused! Grin

TheDetective · 03/05/2013 22:30

His purees have LF milk in VQ. Mind you I think he is ready for them without milk in.

Feel the same about it all. Feels like improvement with the new 'addition' of whatever is tried. Then back to square one.

I said to DP earlier, it is hard to remember the O before all this began. He was a chilled out, happy little baby. We used to say to each other how lucky we were. We haven't said that for a long fucking time. Hmm

TheDetective · 03/05/2013 22:32

YW I envy how you have managed to get a dietician etc.

Feel like we are sinking in shit half the time. I was holding back the tears at clinic on Thursday. I feel so fucking pissed off that everything I try is me making the change - no one is helping or giving advice.

Angry
GTbaby · 03/05/2013 22:32

Phew I found you. Grin

TheDetective · 03/05/2013 22:46

MissMummy1 · 03/05/2013 22:59

Okay that was pretty incoherent. I only had 2 drinks!!

Bollocks to shit nights izzy Sad

TheDetective · 03/05/2013 23:24

Oh dear. What is it about judgeypants? Once you pop you can't stop?!

Picture on FB from a girl (I don't know her, just sold her some baby bits and she added me as a friend) with a 12 week old baby. The baby is holding a carrot stick and is sucking on it. Fuckity fuck. Just glad it is a fucking carrot. But BLW is not for 12 week olds!!

Also ignoring picture of friends DS at 4 months old with bright blue all over his face. The sprinkly stuff from an ice cream from the ice cream van.

Fuck off judgeypants! Do one!

TheDetective · 03/05/2013 23:33

Both these women clearly love their kids to bits by the way. That is what I don't get. Are parents being failed by the information they are given when it comes to bringing children up?

I do wonder often.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 04/05/2013 00:05

Just fed a fucking gain!!!! That's 3 times since 9.30pm!!!!!!!!!

LuisGarcia · 04/05/2013 01:08

ok, if anyone is awake can you please call something for me? Do I go short, medium or long term tonight?

PurplePidjin · 04/05/2013 02:59

Medium, Luis - short will frustrate you in a few days, long will frustrate you by feeling impossible

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 04/05/2013 03:25

3 hours...just! Feeding like a demon again!!! Unlatched him in the end!

YellowWellies · 04/05/2013 04:05

Luis go medium. Middle theory was always my default exam response if I had to guess an answer.

First feed - well chuffed. Especially given he unlatched after 20 minutes at his big tank up feed, due to nodding off. The velux blinds arrived today so he's into his own room tomorrow night Shock
