O has taken to clamping his gums around the spoon. It goes through me. Hmm I've noticed his tongue thrust has subsided now. Phew.

VQ Is he on Nutramigen Lipil? He might need AA?

I'll ask her Grin. She'd probably run screaming at the memory of it all!!!

His dad eats half a loaf of bread at every meal. He makes a butty from everything off his plate. Envy Pasta butty anyone? He knocks me sick!

I wonder why they are divorced now....!

Meal times sounded like a blast in their house!

I tried a spoon again with LO today. She swooped a fistful and stuff it in then grabbed spoon and flung it across room with a gleeful squeal.

So we're fully BLW in case I was in any doubt.

I am in no hurry to do solids. Today he had carrot and pear with a bit of baby rice as it was too sloppy. He loved it.

Hi all, I'm doing really badly at keeping up with this thread lately, sorry.

We were due to exchange contracts on our house this week but our buyers pulled out at the last minute. Absolute fuckers. So we are back to square one. The people selling the house we are buying are willing to wait for us to find another buyer but I doubt they will wait forever. I fucking hate the english house moving system. This move has been one fuck up after another. Seriously tempted to move to Scotland as it's so much easier there. Am fucked off. The most depressing thing is I have to get the house in order again ready for more viewings. Just big fucking arrrrrr. I missed sweary wednesday so am getting in now!

It was DH's birthday yesterday as well (think stunt DH was too). Although I wasn't in the mood for celebrating we went out and had a lovely dinner. I think the wine helped me calm down.

E is 6 months today. Did her first bit of finger food today. Cucumber. I hate the stuff but she seemed to enjoy it. Was quite slippery so not the best to start with but I used the crinkle cutter and that helped. It hasn't helped that I've had her hands covered with scratch mitts for the last 3 weeks as it stops her pulling her tube out. She was so fasinated by the sight of her hands that eating went a bit out of the window!

I'll go and catch up with thread now....

My fanjo says thanks for the sympathies Grin.

I've cheered up now I've been for my weigh in, and as I've got 6lb off this week, I got slimmer of the week! You have no idea how proud I am inside. I've never done a proper diet before!!

TheDetective · 09/05/2013 21:09

yw how long are you planning on bf for? Just out of interest.

I was a dreadful eater as a child. Mum really worried. Some people still are!! I work with some very clever people but some have odd eating habits. One chap had tomato ketchup on bread each morning. He used to have bacon but it got 'too expensive' (he's single, no mortgage and earns £60k). He also drinks tea like dish water and eats about a packet of biscuits. Another chap has tuna sandwiches, a stick of celery, three tomatoes, a chunk of cucumber cut into quarters, a bunch of grapes and an apple. Every. Single. Day.

Another chap doesn't eat. 'Messed up food'. I've watched him cut round herbs in sausages. He only eats a chunk if meat with potatoes. No veg. No stews etc. he has to be able to distinguish between food. He also always brings in apricot jam sandwiches and only those, on the days he brings in lunch (most day).

Eliza that's really shit, sorry to hear it. Is that the heart attack couple? Or was that someone else altogether?

TheDetective · 09/05/2013 21:19

I used to have to have all foods separate! I don't now! But I am still a fussy bastard with my food clearly not fussy enough though!!. But I enjoy fruit/veg and other healthy stuff. So I don't think I'm too bad Grin.

What's pissed you off Horsey?! :(

Am not reading a worm thread.. Will barf!

Det I am sorry for your fanjo (auto corrects to fanboy!!!) but so well done on the diet. That is amazing.

Kyz big hugs

Bplp I hope you get sleep tonight as I do for any other sleep and cot dodgers

VQ I hope there is less poo in your life

I had also heard food is fun til 1 but I stand very corrected. Am reading a very good weaning book and feel a little bit more in control!

We use pampers extra dry 4+ and they work all night and LO is a wee machine! Mainly due to 50oz milk a day!

We are onto three meals a day but Jo sign of any milk feeds reducing. Will wait and see what happens when we add meat/fish.

I am tired.

YW afaik the latest research indicates that the bioavailability of iron is much higher from breast milk than formula so it makes no difference that the quantity of iron in breastmilk is lower.
