Passmethecrisps · 03/05/2013 12:48

Actually. I have just found silicon muffin trays and those wee tiny silicon cupcake things. The muffin ones would be good for when she is eating more wouldn't they?

Roopoo · 03/05/2013 13:02

Sorry never post and not too successful at lurking as you ladies can chat.
But whoever recommended me vaseline for cradle crap. Thank you it has worked wonders.

In a muddle of sleep deprived pnd here. Im going to admit defeat and go back on meds.

YellowWellies · 03/05/2013 13:26

Roo that's not defeat its making use of modern medicine - you'd want a cast on a broken arm? Surely its no different. Welcome back xxx

ChasingDaisy · 03/05/2013 13:33

Hello chatty quiche Smile

Firstly, useless partners...

Evil that was a truly horrendous thing to say. I am in no position to give relationship advice but you in no way deserve to be spoken to like that.

Detective did he just forget?! That's ridiculous. Poor O. I would be fuming.

Pig sounds like a serious lack of empathy going on there. I reckon he would get a massive shock with 24 in charge of baby and house.

Stunt did you have a better night last night?

Lily am thinking of you today.

Pass you never fail to make me chuckle. You have a wonderful way with words.

Am continuing to take it slowly with weaning as O is only 22 weeks. Giving him veg sticks to nom on at dinner time and will try fruit puree next week.

Me and O went on a mini adventure today. Inspired by the quiche, we went searching for a park with swings. Found one a half hour walk away and he had a go on the swings and slide. I enjoyed it much more than him Grin

Came home and I have never seen him so chatty. Think the sun agrees with him. Must buy sunhat and suncream for him tomorrow.

FatimaLovesBread · 03/05/2013 14:00

Unmumsnetty (((hugs))) Roo Agree its not admit defeat, it's treating a medical problem. If you had diabetes or an infection you wouldn't try battle on with no medication would you? Glad the cradle caps cleared up too Smile

YW I too feel like DH is super husband compared to some, although at times he can piss me off a little, it's normally me being irritable rather than him. Apart from the snoring and sleep twitching and tooth grinding. During the day he's super husband, at night he's the most annoying man ever Wink
Can't even begin to imagine what Lily's going through. Hope she's ok today

Right, packing done. Two suitcases both weighing around 18kg according to my dads luggage scales, I hope they're accurate.
Just got to sort hand luggage, clean guinea pigs ready for my sister to collect them, quick clean and vac of the house and cook tea.
Oh and I can't find my bloody plug adapter Angry

Not sure what to do with M routine wise tonight, might try put her down earlier. We're setting off at 2am, she normally wakes for a feed around half one so will feed, change and put in car seat then

TheDetective · 03/05/2013 15:56

I'm dyyyyyyyyyyying. Help! I have O's cold. But it feels like fucking flu! Or the start of it Confused. I'm sniffing, coughing, throat like razor blades, but most of all my muscles ache from head to toe, and I feel so fucking lethargic.

Thank you for lambasting DP. He fucking needs it. I am furious with him. He's fucking stupid. He said he just forgot. As it was, I was at home, but was getting ready to leave. DP came back downstairs at 7.15 having only gone up with him at 7. I commented on how quick he was, and he just gave me a smug look and said he went down easily.

I had already reminded him about his medication, and did he have a muslin cloth for feeding when he took him upstairs. He had neither. I didn't think I needed to remind him to change his fucking nappy and undress him. Angry

It isn't as if it is the first time he has put him to bed Confused and he has given me a hand bringing things to me as needed usually, so he knows what needs doing.

Good fucking job I'm not back at work.

I also pissed the bed last night.

I am not in a good fucking mood. Angry

However, the good news is I lost 3lb on the scales today. So thats 7.5lb off in 8 days. I did double triple check by moving scales around room in case it was an accident. No, definitely 3lb off. Awesome.

Will try and reply to others in a minute...!

kirrinIsland · 03/05/2013 16:11

Congrats cacacaz :) Thats great news

det what a twunt

evil he says some awful things to you - are you sure he's worth it?

roo taking the meds isn't admitting defeat - do what you need to do to get better Thanks

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 03/05/2013 16:12

Oh dear det that doesn't sound good, especially the flu like illness and also wetting the bed! Never good!

Good news on weight loss though, although if I were you I'd stop weighing yourself at home so much and just go to your group weigh in!

kirrinIsland · 03/05/2013 16:13

Cross post det well done on the weight loss - you doing brilliantly

ValiumQueen · 03/05/2013 16:23

Better to wet the bed than shit the bed.

TheDetective · 03/05/2013 16:26

Evil :( he's being a knob is it catching??! I'd call his bluff and then laugh at him when he gets shown up.

Madam I love flowers. I'd go for flowers!

TheDetective · 03/05/2013 16:28

True VQ Grin. There seems to be a lot of bedwetting in my house last night Hmm.

Can only assume I need to do even more PF's :( Maybe I was coughing in my sleep? Hmm

Izzy I just worry that I'm not doing it right, I will stop weighing after a couple of weeks. Once I've got the hang of it all!

TheDetective · 03/05/2013 16:59

I think I am paranoid as when I thought I was making healthier choices, I managed to put on 1 1/2 stone. In just a few fucking weeks. GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!

BigPigLittlePig · 03/05/2013 18:18

Any thoughts on why LO keeps rubbing frantically at her nose?

Detective well done on weight loss. Shame about bed-gate.

Cacacaz congratulation, that's lovely news.

Chasing glad you managed to find a park, it's lots of fun for parents the wee ones.

ChasingDaisy · 03/05/2013 19:03

Caca congratulations Smile Thanks

roo I have been back on antidepressants for a month now and feel a lot better for it. Hopefully you will have similar success.

Anybody else's baby have/had a flat spot on their head? O's head is very flat on one side. HV has said not to worry and it will right itself etc but it seems to be getting worse if anything. He only really spends time on his back at night as he naps on me mostly and is spending more time in his snug chair.

So when can we expect our babies to say their first word? I call O baba a lot. Probably more than I call him Oscar. Today he kept saying it Smile I know he is just mimicking but I was still impressed.

I think posted on here before about my problems with my hands - damaged nerve at my elbow means I have a weak grip. Well today O was laying in the crook of my arm for a nap and ever since I have lost the feeling in the left hand side of my arm and my pinky Sad

Clarella · 03/05/2013 19:12

roo not defeat just some mental scaffolding much in the same way you'd get a cast if you broke your leg.

evil what a total idiot. Sad

great news cacaz!

det Shock nappyAngry

survived kit day - relatively easy as was a training day on 'coaching'. took most of us most of the day to get our heads round what the hell that was. but basically mentoring without giving info or suggestions, asking the right open ended qs yo help them find their own answers. it was hard but we've been encouraged to practise at home. so next time Dh says 'what is he wearing today?' instead of huffily chucking some clothes at him I'll say 'what do you think you would like him to wear today' ..... Hmm yeah. risky.

ha pidj well doc pointed out gavisgon would block action of omeprozole so dh right this time Grin .

WHOEVER suggested the blowing on face trick thanks sooo much - still not great, think 1 ml went in but we're persevering. last night was bad, lots of twisting and issues feeding this morning. waking up screaming from deep sleep. (I'm so used to that now Sad ) doc said it's notoriously rank and said if still no joy next week to try ranitadine but that it's effective stuff so a low dose may have an effect. will persevere by splitting it up in day and maybe ask about if it can be made without peppermint taste or see if they can get it the way you described detective

interestingly he mentioned a chiropractor might be worth a try which a mum at our sling meet swore by. any quiche thoughts?

Clarella · 03/05/2013 19:13

meant to add big hugs for you roo too.

YellowWellies · 03/05/2013 19:31

Clarella I've heard similar said about chiropractors too. Am thinking about trying some alternative therapies to supplement conventional treatment. Hell I'll try anything to get him to grow out of this quicker.

The bear is 14 lb 10. I'm happy with that. Also he's gone up to the 9th centile Smile from being between the 2nd and 9th.

To beat Det's judgy pants incident yesterday I have two - one a cystic fibrosis baby at the clinic weigh in surrounded by smoking parents (the poor little dude was on oxygen) having a fag in the rain before going in. Sad. (As an ex smoker I can almost understand the 'have a fag before stressful appointment' mentality but it did make me facepalm).

And one that really upset me, a cute three year old being looked after by Granny who was off her tits / weaving / leaning against the wall / reeking of beer pissed. Poor little mite was dirty, smelly and clearly desperate for affection.

Some kids don't stand a chance do they? Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

Clarella · 03/05/2013 19:33

oh but Dh did take it upon himself not to give any nystatin today for the remains of the thrush still on his tongue after I was specifically told by the doc to continue. Angry

Clarella · 03/05/2013 19:40

that's great news yw!

Sad Sad to those bairn stories.

the doc said he'd seen amazing results from chiropractors for reflux. I've been told by so many now plus have a recommendation I'm thinking it might help. he's always done so much back arching anyway I feel he's quite stiff necked. also sling mum yesterday said tt can give an ache and my own mum currently suffering from reflux says she gets neck and head aches. am going to see if meds help first though and get on an even keel with that.

BigPigLittlePig · 03/05/2013 19:48

Oh YW that's so sad Sad

My mum suggested cranial osteopathy for Fs reflux/sleep avoidance, but haven't done anything about it yet, as costly vet bills have put paid to anything other than the basics for a while. I would love to know if it helps though. Starting to lose hope that she'll ever sleep properly at night - and back to work in 8 weeks.

Clarella could you sneak some extra doses of nystatin in - 1 at bed, and 1 in the middle of the night, then he should only have missed 1 or 2 during the day.

BigPigLittlePig · 03/05/2013 19:50

Am going to put F to sleep on her front tonight. Despite generations of people doing this, the paranoid part of me is screaming SIDS SIDS SIDS. Idiot.

FatimaLovesBread · 03/05/2013 19:55

All packed and ready to go! Hopefully we'll be well under the luggage allowance.

QQ - if I want to give M water in Majorca what do I give her? Revisin? And do I boil it first?

PetiteRaleuse · 03/05/2013 19:55

pig LO rubs her nose when she is tired.

yw that's horrible :( (and I say that as a smoker)

PetiteRaleuse · 03/05/2013 19:56

fatima Evian and Cristalline are ok to give to babies. No need to boil. I'm sure you can get Evian over there
