That's interesting vq re the different bugs. DD1 picked up her first and only, until nursery started at 18 months, cold during our trip to England. I put it down to the germ fest which was the plane journey. But our last move was from the next but one village, a couple of miles away so I don't think it had an impact.

Morning. Half 7, a right proper lie in. Woken up by DD1 who went to get the ipad and is watching Katy Perry videos. Oh well, better than gummy bear

PurplePidjin · 09/05/2013 07:39

A lot of babies have their soundest sleep in the early evening Pidj, say between 7 p.m. and midnight (unlike us adults who most need sleep between 2 and 5 a.m.) so if you wake them in the middle of that block for a dream feed it can screw up the whole night. I know when I dream feed J he doesn't really wake up, just stirs a bit, and it's worth it to get him through to 4 a.m. so I can get a solid five hour block of sleep myself. But if there's no advantage to it don't bother. I skip them every so often to see how J does since eventually he won't need them anymore.

Morning
Hope everyone got lots of sleepWink
DS was up from 3-5 yawn.... Normally he is quite good and does 7-5.30 with a couple of dummy disturbances.
Last night he had a lot of loud noises to makeGrin not to bothered as his big sister was away so wasn't crouched shushing him like a maniac trying to prevent him waking her up.

DS is another who gets up at 5.30 and is then ready for a nap a couple of hours later.

Im very lucky with DH as he gets up most mornings at 5.30 and lets me sleep til 7.30 when he goes to work.

ChasingDaisy · 09/05/2013 08:21

Morning all

P said that O slept really well last night. Of course he fucking did, he let him sleep in the bed ALL night and didn't even try to put him in his cot Angry

And he woke at 6am whereas with me he sleeps until 7. So rather than doing me a favour he has made my life harder as now it will be more of a battle to get O in his cot. Lazy sod Angry

ChasingDaisy · 09/05/2013 08:21

Oh and now he's gone back to bed. When do I get to do that?!

PurplePidjin · 09/05/2013 08:51

He's a twunt, Daisy, you know that Brew he'll have done it on purpose - now he can legitimately say to the world he does nights and is a model parent Hmm

ChasingDaisy · 09/05/2013 08:57

To be fair, he does his fair share of nights but is lazy about settling O.

KatieLily12 · 09/05/2013 09:03

Anyone having nappy issues at night?

LO hates being changed at night and will stay awake for an hour or two easily if changed. If we don't, she's soaked through and wakes early. We're using pampers so its not like we have crap nappies!!!

Roopoo · 09/05/2013 09:05

I always find with both of mine that Asda and Aldi nappies are much better than pampers.
With pampers both would wake wet but with Aldi and Asda its a dry night Smile

BigPigLittlePig · 09/05/2013 09:24

Dixie I had the grand total of...wait for it....40 minutes. Duvet day will be initiated soon. F is currently asleep in her car seat as had to take the car to the garage. Fairly sure she grossed out all the men in their nice clean suits, with her copious snot and sneezes. Hey ho.

Katie a good friend whose daughter is nearly 2, used to put 2 nappies on, eg. a size 3 then a 4 on top. It stopped the nappies leaking and meant she slept through without needing changing. Slightly bulky but whatever works I guess!

Chasing he's a nobhead. Nuff said.

Pidj dream feed makes no difference here either, just makes my bedtime even later.

YellowWellies · 09/05/2013 09:24

I'm with Roo we find pampers make for wet nights. I love Asda little angels nappies - we've never had a leak at night even if the nappy weighs a tonne in the morning! Not tried the Aldi ones but I've heard good reports. I don't rate pampers, Sainsburys or Huggies as was.

BigPigLittlePig · 09/05/2013 09:26

Tell you what, I'm bloody well starving. I was a bit peckish at 4am, having been up for 3 hours, but couldn't move as F was asleep on me. Had some flapjack pre-garage, just had some toast. GIVE ME CARBS PEOPLE.

YellowWellies · 09/05/2013 09:29

Urrgh have a napping bear and the fucking shit biscuit of a cat was wandering around the house doing his 'I need a shit' miaow so I've shut him in the kitchen / conservatory where the floors are cleanable and his tray and cat flap are. He's now screeching to be let through so he can shit in the shower again. Why do I feed him? Envy Envy Envy Envy Envy

KatieLily12 · 09/05/2013 09:45

Oh that's interesting! I liked Lidl ones actually but got in habit of bunging pampers on the online shopping order. Huh. Will see if I can get to an asda near here too.

I hate huggies- after 4 blowouts in a row I said never again!

PurplePidjin · 09/05/2013 10:13

Well, the trousers that were 1" too big at the waist last week and had to be safety pinned to keep them up are now only 1/2" too big. So something must be going right? His Sainsburys vest is looking fitted rather than baggy too :o

Bamboo fitteds boosted with microfibre and lined with fleece under wool longies or soaker do 12 hours here with no leaks or grumbles Wink

ChasingDaisy · 09/05/2013 10:32

Pig have lots of Brew Brew Brew Your night sounds really rotten. I hope you manage your duvet day today.

I use Pampers Baby Dry at night and have never had a leak.

Pidj I don't df. O has his deepest sleep between 7-11 and I don't want to disturb that.

MsJupiterJones · 09/05/2013 10:32

We had a disturbed night, not as bad as some here but loads of wakenings. I have wondered if a DF would help but he seems so asleep bearing out what Stunt said. L, DH and I each had a nightmare but mine didn't wake them up . Like RooPoo I am fortunate that DH always takes L for an hour or so which means I can catch up. Think it should become law for partners to do this!

We use pampers with no issues Katie (hi btw), sorry that's not much help. haven't used reusables for ages. He might have grown into the OSDNFAs by now so I should try them. I really wanted to get some fitted ones with wraps but I got really confused about what to spend my money on.

I've got yet another nonspecific illness, guess it must be from being run down but every few weeks I get a really bad sore throat, cotton wool head and aching limbs. No runny nose or owt but sometimes the other end sorry tmi.

BigPigLittlePig · 09/05/2013 10:33

Why is it that every single puree in my freezer is on the beige-orange spectrum? Have just added some mango to complete the orange palette.

KatieLily12 · 09/05/2013 10:34

I would have loved reusable but she pitched a fit every time no matter what combo I tried. I then got used to less laundry.

In compensation I just set up the compost bin? I try to be Eco but she hated the sensation so I couldn't do it to her

MissMummy1 · 09/05/2013 10:36

The police have been next door all morning and now our neighbour has just shot off in his brother's car. His brother turned up about an hour after the police. His wife's car has been away all morning (quite unusual). I really hope everything is okay, they are very good friend's of DP and a lovely family. Sad

BigPigLittlePig · 09/05/2013 10:42
Hmm
BigPigLittlePig · 09/05/2013 10:44

MM sounds worrying, I hope it's nothing too serious.
JJ I shall inform dh of his new duties, unsure how well it will go down though!
