Here we go then... I've also updated my album of photos on the \link{http://health.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/mumsnetpix/photos\Yahoo site}, it'd be great to see recent pics of all our angels on there!

Iris - big hugs to you. know exactly how it feels. fingers crossed the sleep 'training'/situation continues to improve... im pretty sure extreme sleep deprivation can kill you, you know. (well, the death certificate might say something like "death by mis-operation of the toaster coz she was so damn tired she couldnt see straight" or something

Hi All 

Imo?s routine (if you can call it that!!) goes something like this!

Between 5 and 7 ? B/f
Breakfast at about 9.30ish (Normally weetabix and breatmilk or toats and fruit for brekkie)
Play till about 11am
B/f
Nap till about 1pm
Lunch at 1.30 (Fruit, Jelly, Yogurt kinda stuff)
Play or walk doggies till about 3pm
b/f
Sleep till about 5pm
b/f
Play till about 6.30pm
Food (Big evening meal with pudding)
Bath
b/f
book and bed about 9-10pm

Though some days are drastically different . . went to Metro Center yesterday so the day was all over the place!

Had stinking colds here . . been terrible  Think Imo is finally shaking it off as she slept last night from 8 till 9 this morning  had me paranoid and staring at the lil camera we have to make sure she was breathing lol 

We went to Mothercare and tried some baby walkers and they were all no good . . she?s just too long for them lol . . can?t get the high enough!

Imo is in 12-18mths clothing now!! And her hair is so long it gets in her eyes if we don?t flick it back lol! Bless

Iris ? Keep it going . . getting great results 

Lilly ? Imo never sleeps much in her pram much unless we are moving! But my neighbour had a baby 1mth before me and her baba is in the pram permanently . . sits outside in all weathers (including pouring rain) Obviously not saying this is great but her baby is happy and healthy. At the end of the day I have stopped worrying what?s ?right and wrong? as long as baby is happy and healthy then do what works for you!

Georgie ? You are a trooper too . . It must be hard when they first go to school . . so grown up ! Ick about the sick . . poor you . . Imo pooed all over me when I got her out the bath the other day which my boyfriend found hysterical!

Wtwta ? That sounds very cute with the naan bread!

Tickle ? Cycling to school sounds great . . Nice and active  and poor you . . while I was preggers I got thrust about 10 times . . I swear I was at the end of my tether with it!! Its such a horrible things! , And just talking about the beach you are making me jealous lol Oh and my name is a total typo lol . . I blame sleep deprivation ;)

Barrel ? Hi!! I?m from Darlington so from around your area  Glad you are feeling better . . nice to get things out in the open 

Hugs to everyone and all LO?s!

SleeySal · 13/09/2006 10:44

Bah!! Ignore the silly numbers in the last message . . I'll try and repost what I meant . . lost the message about 4 times so typed it out in word and copied and pasted . . guess that wont work either

BBWBabeLisa · 13/09/2006 11:44

Sal - I find typing in notepad best. I have a notepad file on my destop called mumsnet which I just open and type into when I wanna post, as it can sometimes take me days to catch up with what everyones been saying and type my post.

It's my papa (mums dad) who is in hospital. Lola and I got home from Glasgow late last night (Monday night). We got a phone call last Saturday from my mum who'd just been told by the docs he wasn't likely to last another week, so Lola and I flew up on Sunday. He has good and bad
days, has had a few strokes, has severe dementia (he's 87 next month) so doesn't know who anyone is most of the time (except lola - who he calls anything from coco to lulu to coca-cola - but always seems to know weirdly). He does seem to have improved slightly from that dire prognosis but still isn't great. We won't be going back up there til xmas now so I'm fairly certain that our visit was our goodbye.

Eshay, thanks for your email. Would love to see you and Alex soon. Gimme a couple of days to get unpacked and back into routine then will be in touch to arrange something.

With getting home late last night Lolas routine was disrupted somewhat and she didn't get as much sleep as normal, so she's upstairs now and I can hear her just starting to stir from an 2.5 hour long nap! Best go bring her down. Will continue this in a bit..

Back..

Struggling to get back to bedroom activity here too. Have attempted it twice since Lola was born and both times it was just uncomfortable and slightly sore. We're hoping to start TTC this cycle (cd 12 at the mo, so I'm due to ov in a week or so) but I'm not hopeful. Totally relate with you NG, I think I had all I'll ever need between 15 and 26 (when I got married first time around). Now quite frankly I'm much happier with a good cuppa tea. I blamed the prozac for a while but I've been off it a month or so now in preparation for ttc and other than lots of very explicit dreams I still have very little inclination. Poor DH is being very understanding, last time we successfully managed it was 4 months pre-Lola, before my SPD made it unbearable!

Tickle - I'm exploring the whole flybabies thing too. Bought the book, but haven't had the time/energy to shine my sink yet never mind start making baby steps towards getting the rest of this bombsite cleared. DH is on about inviting an old colleague of his and his wife over this weekend as they've been posted here and moved in round the corner, all I can think is how much effort it's gonna take to make the place fit for visitors. CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome) reigns in this house!

Georgiegirl - sympathise with the vomitting. Lolas always been a puker with her having reflux, but last night on the plane I settled her during take-off with a bottle, she fell asleep on it without winding and slept for about half an hour til the stewardess made a very loud announcement over the PA system. She then woke up, burped and puked pretty much the whole bottle (about 6 oz) plus some of her dinner ALL over me. I tried to catch it in the bib she was wearing but there was too much so it just kept overflowing all over my black clothes, the seatbelts, the seat, etc. A pile of paper towels didn't help much and all the way home I could smell it. Aint motherhood grand?!

It's now Wednesday, didn't get this finished yesterday so it's spilled over into today. Just got back from hospital where the results of my bloods are back and I've officially been given the go ahead to start ttc!

SleeySal · 13/09/2006 12:04

Good tip thanks Lisa Hope all is well with thte family

Me and boyf would love to start TTC again . . we manage BD aout 3-4 times a week . . think it was easier to get back into for me with having c-section . . but havent started my periods again yet They were always unpredctable with me having PCOS . . that and the fact I' still b/fing think we have no hope atm

Hope you get your BFP soon!!

Tickle · 13/09/2006 14:56

lilymolly - luuurrve welsh cobs Sounds lovely. I had a 15.2 connemara cross when I was growing up. dd1 (7) is just getting into riding. She had a few lessons when she stayed with my mum a couple of weeks ago, so now we will start here.

Lisa - LOL at CHAOS! Hope all ok in Glasgow.

Iris - good night Hope he can do it again.

Just a quick thought on the bedroom activity ladies (not for Sal though, as she is going for an olympic record in the post baby BDing dept!! lol)

after a couple of my babies (not each one, though) I have been quite, ahem, 'dry', while still bfing. A bit of KY jelly (other lubes are available ) works wonders. Sorry if TMI, but it's nice to be back in the saddle in comfort if we can!

Still gorgeous weather here, so DH has gone to pick up the kids, then we are going down to the beach with some spag bol in a saucepan for supper al fresco see ya later

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 13/09/2006 18:53

Hi all. Power post time. Have no energy. Got Lib's bug and vommed my way thru Mon night and tues.

Was M's b'day on tuesday, but so ill had to drive down to ma and pa's so they could look after L and I could whimper pathetically in bed.

Ex-h and DH pulled together to get M to and from school.

But, looking on the bright side, fantastic way to loose weight

Lise - glad you raised the subject of TTC. Have been thinking for a while that I'd rather get PG out of the way sooner rather than later. Not getting any younger (36) and I HATE being PG as am super vommer. DH and I both want another so.... Bedroom antics are good here. Staggering return of libido about 3 months ago .

NG - can I CAT you about nannies? Am thinking about getting one next year if we move. Long story, but will need someone to look after L whilst i ferry M to her dad's house 2 x week.

Lilymolly - Libs would only do long naps in her cot when i started putting her in her sleeping bag. Think its cosier for her. But, if she's sleeping in cot at night then no worries. Better to get some fresh air. in the 70's we were all put out to sleep in prams.

Iris - your poor love. Can't even imagine how tired you must be. Friend of a friend had son that would wake constantly thru night. Only way they 'cured' him was to leave him to cry. Only took one night, but he slept like dream afterwards. Not cruel, just intense training. I really do sympathise thou. You've got to look after yourself. You're no good to Dom if you're half dead thru lack of sleep.

Tickle - you are my hero. 4 kids, a business, a house and husband to look after and you don't have any help. I bow down to you .

Have done it again. Can't power post for toffee.

G xx

poppiesmum · 13/09/2006 19:59

Hi All

It's great reading all your posts as it's good to know that every other mum of an 8mo is going through the same stuff.

Have 1 question .. how much do your lo's drink during the day? My dd self weaned last month after I was ill, and I am giving her 3 6oz bottles of follow on milk each day (mid morning, mid afternoon and before bed), but she rrely drinks the whole lot, and is not interested in juice or water throughout the rest of the day. She clearly isn't dehydrated and doesn't seem bothered, but I just feel she should be drinking more???

Following on from everyone else, her schedule is

7am : wake and play in bed with me or dh
7.30: breakfast - cereal and fruit
9.00: milk before 1 hour nap
12.00: 1 hour nap before lunch
1pm: lunch
3.30: milk
4pm: nap
5.30: dinner
6pm: bath with daddy, followed by milk, book & bed at 6.30pm, where she stays (thanks to the miracle of cc!) until 7am!

Good luck to those who are ttc - can't imagine it at the moment..think we may give it a go next summer. To the mnetter wth PCOS (sorry, your post was a while back and now I can't find it to find your name!), good luck - I have it too, although my periods have now returned, albeit a bit erratically!

Finally, a quick update on Poppy..still only 2 bottom teeth, but mastered the art of crawling last week - and to think I've been looking forward to seeing her move about on her own!!!!

NappiesGalore · 13/09/2006 21:58

Right. Determined to keep up?

Sleepysal ? lol at your name being a typo (!), and the strange numbers thing? I spent ages trying to work out what they meant, der brain that I am! And wow, your girl sounds like a willowy model in the making? now, don?t go all competitive mum on us and get her into modelling before shes ready (don?t worry I really am teasing. Ds1 won a local modelling comp recently and ive been laughing off family taking the P out of my obvious pride, poor wee scrap. I bet he is a total washout as far as the actual modelling goes ? cant imagine him performing v well for the camera, he's so shy! Hehe. Better spend the £150 winners voucher before then, eh?)

Lisa! Good to hear from you girl. So sorry to hear about papa? hope his last days and weeks are peaceful for him and you all feel a little better when he is at peace.
Cant relate to the TTC thing? is the last thing on earth I can imagine doing right now, but best of luck to you and I hope you have a lot of fun on the way fingers crossed that the SPD is not so much of a problem this time round too!
Lol at the vomit on the plane. Yeah, motherhood is just soooo glamourous, aint it?

Whats PCOS? (excuse my ignorance. Bet its really obvious too)

Cheers for the KY tip tickle ? I think tho, that I may need a little more than that to get me started. On the up-side, dp and I are at least talking/laughing about it so im sure we?ll work something out one day?

Georgie ? yes of course you can CAT me. Happy to spout wisdom and knowledge anytime no really, happy to share my experiences esp if it helps.

And yes ? I too bow down at the alter of Tickle (now theres a sentence I couldn?t have forseen saying ? you are an inspiration!

Poppiesmum ? I think you can safely trust your gut on that one, and if you feel she isn?t dehydrated, then she probably isn?t. I think, so long as we are listening and looking closely (without obsessing, obv) that our babies will tell us what they need and when. They are pretty good at knowing and complaining when they are in need of something? realx, you are a FAR better mum than you think you are. And that goes for all of us

sweetkitty · 13/09/2006 22:43

Right have told myself I am finally going to type a message tonight, been trying to keep up with the posts.

Talia is doing great zooming everywhere, her personality is coming out more and more, she's very active always bouncing and on the go, doesn't like cuddles very much but has v bad separation anxiety for me and likes me to be in the same room as her always. She's always laughing and smiling too. Solids are going well, been mostly doing BLW but I've started giving her some spoonfed meals and she loves it sits there like a little bird with her mouth open. She will eat everything I make her which to me is brilliant having a child that eats as Abbie never did. She gets really angry as she doesn't quite have her pincer grip yet funny watching her chase food round her tray. Abbie does try and feed her though, have to watch them both really closely.

Right I have been utterly depressed about the routines I was even sitting at 10pm with T on my knee reading them out to her saying "this is what babies are supposed to do" this used to be her erm "routine"

7.30am wake and BF
8am breakfast of cereal and toast
11am bf
in between we may get a nap of 30 mins if she is in the car/pram
12.30 lunch
2pm bf and 30 min nap
5pm dinner
6pm bath
7-7.30pm bf then 30 min nap
10-10.30pm bf
then bfs at 1am, 3am and sometimes 5am

as you can imagine I am utterly shattered she has stopped taking her dummy as well and only boob will do, however the last 2 nights she has gone to bed at 7.30pm, got up at 1am and that has been it, fingers and everything crossed. I've had some really rough nights recently and have been in tears on more than one occasion.

Good luck to the ttc-ers. Abbie was 9 months when T was conceived and I would recommend it. Although after angel baby Abbie, T has been a bit of a shock. I love the interaction between them and Abbie utterly adores T and is always looking after her although this is bound to change when T gets more mobile and is after her toys no doubt. We are going to ttc no 3 next year so that if we get lucky first time round A will be nearly 4, T 2.3y so a bigger gap but not too big. DP is hoping it takes a few months this time as T was the very first time of trying and he was gutted.

Potty training is going well mostly dry in the house now still use pull ups out and about although she will come and ask for the toilet most of the time.

Oh what kind of cups is everyone using, I started with Tomme Tippee really basic ones (I hate no spill ones) like I did with Abs but it takes a few months for them really to get the hang of it most of it goes down them to start with but Abs has a beaker thats got a straw and gave some juice to T who loved it (only diluted fresh orange) she is really good drinking with a straw so I've thought why not (it's supposed to be 12 months onwards) but it's supposed to be better for their teeth as the liquid doesn't touch them as much and she'll be going onto that one eventually anyway.

Nappies - good to hear from you, if you are giving away any of your extensive pram collection I'm after a good tandem

Sal - T also has a bit of hair that is really long and starting to curl too, I thought she was tall but your Imogen sounds really tall.

Lisa - hi to you too, sorry to hear about your papa as well

Poppiesmum - I don't know how much T drinks but I'm guessing it's an awful lot as she can down a 6oz bottle pretty quick when she has one. I'm sure your lo is taking what she needs. Well done poopy on crawling too, now the fun really does begin.

Iris - it's in a funny way nice to know I'm not the only one with a bad sleeper, when you read all the sleeps through from 7-7 posts it really gets you down, I'm just hoping she gets a bit better failing that it will be gentle sleep training at a year (only 4 months away!)

hi to anyone else I have missed out, better go have rabbited on enough x

NappiesGalore · 14/09/2006 08:29

oh blimey - what a night! musical sodding beds here at Chez Nappies-coming-out-of-our-ears!

serves me right for posting what a 'great' sleeper Archie has been since 5 months old. suddenly after 2.5 years he wont sleep in his own bloody bed! argh. have been between his bed and mine like a zombie in the night...

still, up-side is, that tho Gus woke 3 or 4 times, Sandy actually settled him without the need for me to bf, and so we have learned that he is ready to be denied food at night. hopefully that means he'll soon learn not to bother waking up ?? thats the hope anyway.

morning all!

NappiesGalore · 14/09/2006 08:45

hi SK! - try not to let the 'routine' thing get you down... sounds like things could be improving already, and if they dont, then keep posting about it and im sure we can all help you work out a solution that you like. sleep deprivation torture really is a killer, eh?

anyhoo, i know you were joking, but you are indeed welcome to my mothercare Hoxton, if you like! its a bit heavy, but a sturdy and quite pretty thing, and has some nice extras included, like foot muff and all that malarky. its in vg condition too (hardly any banana and god-knows-what-else- ground into the seats lol). couldnt find the front seat canopy bit last time i looked tho and you need that to put the raincover on, so would have to search that out. come to think of it, id have to have a damn good search for the raincover, as archie never let me use any so they all get cast aside and lost v quickly. its all here somewhere...

otherwise, have vague intentions to take surplus prammage back to Hackney (where im from) to give to teenage mums groups and refugee mums/families...

oh cripes, better go, sposed to be helping out at preschool today and im still in my jammies! doh

poppiesmum · 15/09/2006 09:59

NappiesGalore - PCOS is polycystic ovarian syndrome (mouthful!). Basically 1 or both of the ovarie is covered in tiny cysts. Can lead to reduced fertility as most sufferers do not ovulate as regulary as 'normal' people! There are a variety of other symptoms, which vary from person to person ie. they may have lots of symptoms of none, including spots, excess hair, and being overweight (nice set of things!). Surprisingly common apparently.

NappiesGalore · 15/09/2006 10:42

ah, right. i thought it would be something obvious

well best of luck in ttc, esp with that in mind than

SleeySal · 15/09/2006 13:12

My body must have know I was talking about it . . cause I started my periods yesterday!! Wooohoo . . Started keeping an online record cause I am terrible . . and really want to track my periods this time Also I forgot how painful they are . . Oh well !!

Imo has been sleeping a lot better recently Frantically looks for wood to touch she likes to stay up late but is back to sleeping through pretty much . . the more she naps in the day the better the nights are! She has a little temper on her! If she has some shes not allowed and we take it olff he her throws a strop . . tears throwing herself o n the ground . . throwing anything she can get her hands on! nightmare . . much worse when she is tired!!!

Georgie - Really hope Lib gets well soon . . not nice seeing them ill Poor you at being a vomiter! Think I was lucky as I wasnt sick once . . though lost of people told me that was a bad sign!

Poppie - Imo drinks alot of water during the day . . she wont drink from a 'baby cup' at all . . only from a glass or plastic cup with no lid on! I know what you mean about crawling Imo is moving at super speed now and ends up everywhere! The dogs are terrorised!

Nappies - £150! Very useful! And I think me and boyf were just too stupid to work out the walkers . . at last measure Imo was about 75cms . . thought she wriggled like a worm lol

Also . . anyone know of a parent facing pram that folds down relativly small? we need one to take on holiday and Imo wont use a forward facing one . .also i'm not keen but all the parental facing ones I can find don't fold right down

Excuse typos . . typed with 1 hand whil b/fing lol

NappiesGalore · 15/09/2006 15:27

hi sleepysal. as the threads resident pramaholic, i should be able to answer your queriy, but i cant think of one. i will qualify what i say here by saying that new things come out all the time and its been a while since i last looked - but as far as i can tell, the feature of being parent facing and the feature of being nice and small folding are mutually exclusive

in order fopr me to help... how small do you need to get? is it for carrying or fitting in a v small boot? do you have a budget inm ind?

NappiesGalore · 15/09/2006 15:34

bebe confort loola? claims: full size pushchair with ultra compact fold, seat is reversible.

230 quid tho, so not cheap (tho i do happen to have un unused part comaptible w the loola which would cost about 60 quid i think which you could have, so theres a wee saving for you)

NappiesGalore · 15/09/2006 15:48

uh oh. a cursory search of mothercare.com on your behalf has turned up a new make of stroller that is soooo cool, i want it. IDONT NEED STROLLERS!!! (thats me im shouting at, not anyone else) i better not look any more, soz!

sweetkitty · 15/09/2006 22:33

Nappies - you do make me laugh with your pram addiction, I'm currently lusting after a Cosatto Duet Lite, I have had a shot of one in the Glasgow Pram centre (and had Abs in the back of an e3 which she refused to come out of) am trying to convince DP now we need another pram, keep telling him it will do for number 3

Well madam T has been going down at 8pm fine but last night she was awake at 12, 2 and 5am for a feed! Keep telling myself it's only another 4 months, that's when I plan to shut the milk bar, I know I will be spending about a fortnight on her bedroom floor settling her in and getting her to sleep through.

Sal - T was 69cms when measured at 6 months, I boought her walker off ebay and it's on the shortest setting for her so I am sure you can get one for Imo. At toddlers theres a really big boy whos 11 months scooting about in one too. I was against them before but T adores hers, she chases after the Dyson in it now as well.

BBWBabeLisa · 15/09/2006 22:55

Well done to your LO on the modelling contest NG! I have to admit I've submitted Lola's pictures to some agencies and have had one come back with a yes. She did a photo shoot for childmodelling.net a few weeks ago too, as they're revamping their site and asked for volunteers - unpaid but a good chance to see whether she'd enjoy a shoot. As one of their shoots was 5 mins away in Farnborough we went for it. The photos turned out great. I figure as long as she's young enough not to get caught up in all the self-esteem issues that can come with it then it'll all just be a few extra pounds in her bank account for when she grows up - lord knows we're not in a position at the mo to put much away for her future. And she absolutely adores posing for the camera. Had a funny incident in Glasgow where she was cuddled into my chest starting to fall asleep when my mum approached us with the camera, she immediately sat bolt upright with a big grin on her face!

BBWBabeLisa · 15/09/2006 23:18

SK theres one of those duet lite thingys on ebay for sale in Paisley, and they're selling it "collection only", so it'll probably go cheaper than they normally would if the seller had been willing to post. Its item number 300028110662.

wherethewildthingsare · 18/09/2006 12:13

Hi everyone

Have had a hectic week - London and 2 nights in Liverpool - first time of leaving Finny and it was all rather traumatic, mainly due to me getting all hormonal over stopping bf. I didn't intend to but I had real trouble expressing any decent amount (double ouch over 2 days) and then when I got back he had (another) ear infection (so double guilt) and he obviously found it painful to suck so didn't really stimulate me much and I've pretty much dried up. The only good thing is that I will try a serious diet/exercise routine now I'm not feeding him. It breaks my heart when he's rooting around though and there's nothing much there for him. Really unhappy about him having 2 courses of antibiotics in 2 weeks, he must have dodgy ears (nothing of my other kids have had any ear infections) the out of hours doc said he had some little tears in his eardrum. Ds2 also cracked his head open at a friend's house - it never rains but it pours!

Before I went away he had beeen sleeping much better - sleeping through 50% of the time 7pm-7am so fingers crossed! I really feel for you Iris, although even when he sleeps through I still wake up and don't dare use the loo in case I wake him!

He is 8 months today and has two tiny teeth too.

Hope everyone is well and will try to catch up with the back news!

BBWBabeLisa · 18/09/2006 21:39

Cross ur fingers for me girls. DH and I have decided that tonight's going to be the night to try once more (3rd time lucky?) to resume bedroom activities. I'm due to ovulate over the next day or two, which may explain why I'm feeling a wee bit more in the mood for it. Either that or it could be that he's on a late duty tonight and will be coming home around 11pm in uniform . I bought some pre-seed on the advice of a fellow mn'er so am hoping we'll have more success and less discomfort this time.

iris66 · 19/09/2006 21:19

lisa - good luck for tonight hon

HeyThereGeorgieGirl · 20/09/2006 13:07

Hey Lise - good luck honey . U are v brave to be trying again so soon. Have slightly amended our schedule, of course DH has NO say in it what so ever {grin], because I am FINALLY seeing some results of going to the gym and I'd quiet like to feel trim for a while before ballooning again and having to get all the weight off.

How's everyone doing?

All pretty much tickety boo here. Am getting used to the school run. M liking school and has made some lovely friends. Not least of all a little boy called Jude who plays 'bogie man kiss chase' with her

Libby a poppet. V frustrated at not being able to crawl. She just wants to walk. My back is f*cked from bending down and holding her hands to help her 'walk'.

Right, I'm off before I bore the pants of you guys.

Love and hugs to all

G xx
