Me and SIL were pregnant at the same time and our due dates were a day apart. She gave birth two weeks before me and now sees herself as the baby expert. She hates that O always cries with her so its like she has to prove she can settle him.

PR post a pic on fb so we can judge how impressive the castle is.

Kyzordz · 26/04/2013 14:12

chasing you did well taking him back :) sounds like o really doesn't like her though!

Sorry guys I've got loads to catch up on! Everyone doing ok with weaning? Cat ok bplp? J ok vq ? Often think of him and hope he isn't too uncomfortable.

Can I just ask, and again I am being rude as I have not caught up properly, but does everyone offer solids after milk? I took e off solids like I said I would, not starting again till I have a plan of action and wondered how everyone gets on with it, cos I can't see e bothering as he won't be hungry will he? Whenever I tried before he ate more before a bottle compared to after, and always drank the bottle fine but I don't want to do it arse about face. I just thought i'd ask cos its important ESP for an arse like me to have a clear idea of certain aspects of what I'm gonna do

Also, what mealtime is best? Mum said breakfast, the tinterwebs says lunch

The boy is awake, I'll catch up soon, really sorry guys xx

ChasingDaisy · 26/04/2013 14:16

kyz O's feeds are roughly 3 hours apart so I plan to offer solids halfway between feeds so he is neither starving or full.

I plan to start with veg purees for lunch, once that is established I will try and add a porridge/fruit puree breakfast and finally finger foods for dinner. I don't think there are any right or wrongs although I am happy to be corrected. I think the only thing to be aware of is not introducing new foods at dinner time incase of reactions etc

ChasingDaisy · 26/04/2013 14:18

Remembered what else I wanted to ask!

Is there any need for me to change to follow on milk? NHS website says no need to and I had thought they were a marketing ploy.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/04/2013 14:25

Pcture 14 isn't it though. Weird. The dirst few lines are pics of my village.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/04/2013 14:27

In fact most of them except for the random castle at picture 14

PetiteRaleuse · 26/04/2013 14:32

luis you have been quoted in the ln talk round up email. You are famous. You're our quiche sleb. How does it feel?

Elizadoesdolittle · 26/04/2013 14:51

Hehe I just logged on to tell luis about his achievement. Nice work!

Elizadoesdolittle · 26/04/2013 14:52

chasing nope. No need to switch to follow on milk.

Elizadoesdolittle · 26/04/2013 14:58

Kyz we do breakfast and lunch here but have by far the most success with lunch. I started off with lunch and introduced breakfast about a week after but she really doesn't have much interest.

TooManyDicksOnTheDancefloor · 26/04/2013 15:15

Hi everyone, I've joined slimming world too detective, I've lost 5.5lbs in two weeks. I eat a lot of stir fry noodles, porridge, bananas, muller lights.

We're back from B having her lip and tongue ties released by laser surgery. It went really well, minimal tears, no blood and she fed straight after without clicking and gulping air! I'm so happy it's over with and appears to have gone really well.

Am I the only one who hasn't started meaning yet? B is pretty much the youngest though, being born on 4th December, I think only mini clarella is younger and mini mm is a day older.

Kyzordz · 26/04/2013 15:55

Well done toomany :) that's fab weight loss I didn't type that whilst eating cookies, oh no yaaaay for the Lip/tongue success :) brill stuff

Ooh famous luis

Thanks for meal advice, will give lunch a go first, chasing your plan sounds a good one!

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 26/04/2013 16:06

too many I'm a slimming worlder too. I lost 9lbs in 3 weeks but I put 1lb on this week :(

Kyzordz · 26/04/2013 16:29

Not a huge gain izzy and you've done well in total! I used to go but haven't been for aaages well over a year, maybe 18 months and I should cos I'm still quite chunky fat

PetiteRaleuse · 26/04/2013 16:30

I'm baking a ginger cake. It smells amazing. I don't think I will ever lose my spare tyre. My abs are too weak.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 26/04/2013 16:42

Ginger cake is my favourite.

I have an interview day (10am-1pm Shock ) on tuesday for a job in a supermarket. I havent worked since 2008. To say my confidence is rock bottom is an understatement. :( Very nervous.

I have put on a stone since the birth Blush . Must get out walking again.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/04/2013 17:02

Do you want any help preparing for it wanna ?

MaMaPo · 26/04/2013 17:08

Good luck, wanna!

Toomany, no weaning here yet. C is a December baby too (5th) and we might start sitting her with us for breakfast for a bit, and then offering a little bit next week. I'm fully aware she may not be ready, in which case I'll back off for a few weeks.

PR, lovely! Do you spend much time in Germany?

Red letter night and morning - a 7.5 hour stretch, and hen she self-settled for morning nap. Most excellent baby! Have now spent the day in a very family friendly part of London (ie not central London) which was a great change. Spent too much money on kids' books, as I cannot resist.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 26/04/2013 17:12

Yes, please! Though not too sure what willl be happening. The email said there will be a short interview, a tour of the shop, and then we will be job shadowing a staff member and having a go ourselves.

The position is for a till operator, and I used to be in retail management, so all the knowledge is in my brain somewhere, but I am rusty, lacking confidence and I have lost my ability to speak to people.

Sooo....questions they will ask in the interview? Probably something about Cust Service? My work history? Will I be given scenarios? (Though there were a few on the original application.)

Brain is fuzzy. Need to get it working again!

ChasingDaisy · 26/04/2013 17:28

PR that looks idyllic Envy Do you love living there?

MaMa I love kids' books. O already has loads.

wanna I used to conduct interviews for customer service roles. Call centre, not supermarket though. I will wrack my brains for the questions if you like.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/04/2013 17:30

We go to Germany to buy nappies and other toiletries as they are cheaper than in France and Luxembourg. Our favourite place for Sunday lunch is in Germany too. And lots of great walks, and shopping. Lux is where we go to work, and for most medical things, as well as the supermarket shop so we tend to avoid it on the weekend except if I have some small errands as ourearest town is in Luxembourg. We live in France of course, and go to the market here, do shorter walks etc. And during pregnancy when I craved chips we were able to go to Belgium at weekends where they are amazing. It's a great place to live in many respects but I'm craving the sea and the mountains.

wanna is there someone you can practice with? They will ask you about your work history, maybe times you have had to solve a problem, or had to manage a difficult situation, why you like working with people, what do you find most difficult, what your best and worst qualities are...

GTbaby · 26/04/2013 17:32

Go chasing kick them horrid ppl out.
WWF is winding me up. I'm shit!

My pelvis is killing me Hmm tried to get LO to fall asleep down stairs... Didn't work. Had to carry him up the stairs. Agony Hmm he was doing his screaming for ages. In end just left him there. Seems to b quiet now. So hope he is asleep.

PetiteRaleuse · 26/04/2013 17:36

chasing it is a nice place to live but the winters are hard, and due to it being so close to Luxembourg it's quite expensive to live here. The village itself is lovely but there is one café which is hardly ever open, a pharmacy and a GP and that is it. There used to be two lovely restaurants but they closed. It gets packed with tourists though. The nearest bakery is in the next village but they deliver our bread every morning which is good. The nearest town is in Lux but expensive (but the paediatricians are great); in France it is about 20km to the nearest big town....

ChasingDaisy · 26/04/2013 17:42

wanna these are the ones I can remember:

  • What do you know about the role?
  • What is your job history?
  • What skills did you use in these jobs?
  • What qualities do you have that make you a good team player?
  • What is your understanding of customer service?
  • Give an example of when you provided exceptional customer service
  • Give an example of when you dealt with an angry customer.
