I took J for his hip scan today and the radiographer said she couldn't do the x-ray until he was at least six months and preferably older. What a waste of time! I wasn't worried before but it's actually clicking now. Hopefully it won't be too long before he's called back as he'll be six months old in two weeks.

wanna good luck for tomorrow Smile

GT I am thinking of you. Hope you have lots of support to help you out with H Thanks

Detective I'm glad O seems ok after his fall. Must have been very scary for you.

Off to try and get some sleep in before the first night feed. Am very much looking forward to dreaming tonight.

Goodnight all.

There's someone else I wanted to ask about too.

Oh well. I have two sleeping babies and am going to try and sleep too. Night all

MissMummy1 · 29/04/2013 21:42

I am knackered. But had an AMAZING day!

To summarise:
-Trains with a Bugaboo are relatively easy
-Matilda bit an Australian. Yes, really. Blush
-Matilda vommed in my broody male friend's face after he lifted her above hos head post feed. He still wants a baby, just not Matilda.
-I haz ball tickets for July! So advice ladies on a flab hiding poah frock muchos appreciated.

Will catch up in the wee hours, I am goin to take advantage of a sleeping baby just now Grin

Evilwater · 29/04/2013 21:43

detecive glad to read O is ok.
GT hope things will improve!
wanna good luck
stunt that's just crap! Two weeks, I think in the grand scheme of things two weeks isn't a long time. It's just like when Baby evil went for his jabs, the nurse wouldn't do it on the Monday, but it's ok to do it on the Friday.

Today has gone well, baby evil has slightly better but still not 100%.
Evil

Evilwater · 29/04/2013 21:46

A quick question, how many times does your LO vomit?
Baby evil seems to be vomiting the same amount from when he was a newborn, if not more.

I am here, just too busy to post.

J was a bit better tonight. bp three weeks of side effects from Ranitadine? Would it be an idea to try something else as that sounds horrid, and side effects should pass after a week according to my leaflet.

Do people give ranitadine before or after milk? The leaflet does not say, which is odd.

Sorry to hear of sleep/pelvic/falling down stairs woes Thanks and anyone else I have forgotten.

izzy I would seriously be considering giving bottles overnight, or at least getting DH to if possible. Formula ones, to see if it makes a scrap of difference. I am finding it not too bad getting and giving a bottle at night. Thankfully he only needs one usually, and has slept through the past two nights. You mentioned his skin being really bad. I wonder if there is an intolerance there somewhere that is keeping him awake at night?

fruitpastilles · 29/04/2013 21:52

evil S voms aaaallll the time, she constantly has to wear a bib and we go through about 15 bibs a day, a few muslins and 2 outfits. She is on anti reflux formula which helps as its lots thicker, I dread to think what she'd be like if she was still on normal formula.

MsJupiterJones · 29/04/2013 21:57

Stunt that's odd - we went for a hip scan around 12 weeks and there were no problems doing that. It was an ultrasound and they had the table set up to position him on his side. Or is it a different type of scan?

YellowWellies · 29/04/2013 22:09

VQ You're catching my malady Wink - I too wondered if the sleep avoidance / bad skin was an intolerance. The most common that affects skin is wheat. Wheat is a very common trigger of eczema / skin rashes. Maybe do an elimination test? Lay off wheat for 1-3 weeks to see if there's an improvement.

Evil Jonas voms maybe once a fortnight now his reflux is under control before that it was many times a day. LO's stomach sphincter should be closed by now so vomiting would be rare - unless it's reflux. Which would also explain N's back arching, screams / fussiness, refusal of solids (if his throat is burned from stomach acid some foods will hurt it), and previous sleep issues.

I know the docs have dismissed you before but if he's in pain they need to deal with it. We are months beyond colic so they shouldn't be able to use that old chestnut excuse. If its an intolerance it is something which, untreated could cause him pain until he's three or more - don't let them dismiss it as something he'll quickly grow out of. 2.5 years of potential pain is something they should take seriously. He's FF so treatment is so easy - demand infant gaviscon from your doc and see if there is an improvement. I bet there is. Am cross at your docs xxx

TheDetective · 29/04/2013 22:18

I give it first thing in the morning, which isn't with a feed. Then the next time is usually with his afternoon feed. I try to space it 6 hourly, but don't sweat it if it ends up 4. Then his last one at bedtime.

kirrinIsland · 29/04/2013 22:18

izzy yes, I'm still mostly BF during the day. Her bedtime bottle and the 'dream feed' are bottles, but once we got a sleep pattern established I went back to BF'ing for the rest of the night feeds - mainly because I'm back to work soon so night feeds will be the only ones I can do and I don't want to stop altogether just yet.

evil N voms more now than she did as a newborn.

mm glad you had a good day.

Stunt How frustrating. Hope they get you back in soon.

detective I'm sure O is fine, but I'm also sure you'll be up every 5 minutes checking on him - the price you pay for being a parent :)

Sorry if I've missed anyone - I try my best :)
I too am about to take advantage of the fact N is actually asleep in her cot and go to bed. Hope there are lots of sleepy babies for everyone tonight.

TheDetective · 29/04/2013 22:22

I really wish O could have an intolerance test. I really want to know if it truly is lactose or CMPI.

He's regressing, which I am putting down to solids - so am going to stop those. However there was initial improvement with them. So I'm in two minds as to the problem.

But I don't think his meds are enough. I want to add the domperidone. But it has lactose in. But I don't know what his intolerances are.

Fucking round and round in circles. It's all I ever feel like. Hmm

I want to have a temper tantrum and stamp my feet.

O had a massive acid attack in the bath tonight, and at bedtime. He's hysterical when lay on the floor, sometimes he calms down, but not often at the moment. I know it is the fucking cunting reflux. But what to do?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 29/04/2013 22:29

Scary det glad everyone ok. I fell down stairs onto a tiled floor with DD 2, she has survived to tell the tale.

More scariness for you wanna hope all goes well.

DH survived his interview, has gone from Dublin up to the new house and has spent the evening checking things out Envy and has meetings all day tomorrow with the stair makers, plumbers etc before getting the last flight home. I miss him Sad

Night night. I will disappear into the black hole of work again no doubt tomorrow.

ValiumQueen · 29/04/2013 22:32

Detective put him on the CMPI stuff as it will not hurt, but will cross one thing off the list. May need to gradually phase it in though. Much more likely CMPI than true lactose intolerance.

Off to bed as DD2 coughing.

Does anyone have a Pou? I am a bit smitten. If only babies were so easy.

YellowWellies · 29/04/2013 22:34

Det I too wish intolerances showed up on blood tests but only allergies do. Would be so good to get confirmation and know I'm a) not paranoid / Münchhausens as some docs think reflux Mums are and b) not giving up nice food for no reason. Hope O's symptoms improve xx

TheDetective · 29/04/2013 22:41

I couldn't get him to take the spuds milk VQ. :(

He just acted like he did with the staydown stuff. Like it was poison. Hmm

Could give him another go. It won't hurt to try.

Izzybuzzybuzzybees · 29/04/2013 22:43

Ok. I changed nappy etc, put him in bag, switched off lights and gave bottle of EBM. He fell asleep feeding and took just over 5oz. I've transferred to cot and he seems to be asleep still for now

I hadn't thought of an allergy or intolerance vq and yw. His skin is odd as its not bad all the time just flares up every few days or so. It calms down with the steroid cream and can be good for a day or so before either getting gradually worse or flaring bright res. Only on his neck and a little on his chest. What would I need to cut out? And is it for 3 weeks?!?

So bloody complicated!!

StuntNun · 29/04/2013 22:46

Evil J voms all the bloomin' time. I keep a spare t-shirt in the car for me.

MissJJ it was an x-ray. Apparently the bones aren't completely formed yet so it's possible to get a false negative before six months.

What is a Pou VQ?

OP posts:
Passmethecrisps · 29/04/2013 23:04

Domperidone has cow's milk protein in it? Really? P has been on it since 4 weeks old. I have absolutely no idea if it makes any difference at all but in answer to evil's question I cannot remember the last time P
Properly actually vommed. We get wee dribbles but never fill on vom. She was never a vommer though.

I wrote a fucking massive post and my connection failed. Fucksticks

Passmethecrisps · 29/04/2013 23:06

I have never taken a spare change of clothes out for P and having to change her during the day is extremely rare - more likely due to nappy fit failure. I am not stealth boasting - I think another side of the coin is important.

TheDetective · 29/04/2013 23:07

Domperidone and omeperazole both contain lactose.

Passmethecrisps · 29/04/2013 23:07

Here is my post from before

Evening peeps.

I think your plan sounds good izzy. I have categorically no idea if it made any difference but we went with 7pm bedtime from 4 weeks. She was too young really to have much of a routine herself but we ploughed on regardless. Looking back we had some horrendous nights where she just wouldn't settle but we just had it in our heads to keep at it. I now worry if part of the nightly routine isn't there then it will all go to shit! I think the structure and regularity of it is what helps. I also wonder if a wee massage would be nice on a nightly basis? Using his skin cream and giving it a good old massage in could help his skin as well. Whatever you do I think you will need to go hard at it for a good few days. Crikey I hope you find something that works soon.

stunt what did they make an appointment for then? How irritating. If you can now hear it clicking could you take him back to the GP to see if a scan can be arranged as a fast-track?

Tea in front of me.

Be back soon.

Passmethecrisps · 29/04/2013 23:08

Ah lactose. sorry. That would explain why she is fine with it
