You see I can't do no carbs as I just don't feel full or I end up really hungry and eat a ton more as a result...what do you eat for Breakfast if you don't have carbs??

Rubena · 03/06/2013 21:35

A lot of eggs. I never have that not full feeling but dh does. Sometimes have scrambled eggs but have been having a florentine type thing with spinach, cherry tomatoes and poached eggs recently. If I'm in a hurry I often have hard boiled eggs in fridge so sometimes those.
Subsequently both dcs have been wanting poached eggs on toast in the mornings! Little high maintenance one's!

Vagolajahooli · 03/06/2013 21:42

Rubes almonds are great for regulating blood sugar (you do need a little sugar in ya system for that to work of course) but it helps with extreme highs & lows. You could have a bit of low fat yoghurt with a few almonds & pineapple or honey or something sweetening. But definitely eat a couple after your workout and maybe a yoghurt pot or fruit. It will save having a load of sugar later to bring your sugars back up.

Vagolajahooli · 03/06/2013 21:43

Oops cross posted. I love eggs.

DeidreBarlow · 03/06/2013 21:54

I love eggs, that actually sounds quite filling!

Rubena · 03/06/2013 22:05

Good tips vag thanks, I like almonds guess I just never eat them as I know they're good fats but so calorific. Will make the effort tho.
Yeah my little spinach number is yum (to me) at the weekend because we all eat together I made it (for myself) and added smoked salmon - was yum. I get all my carbs in liquid formWink

ShadyLadyT · 03/06/2013 22:28

That is so tragic, I am on the train coming back from London and I just did a long and admittedly rather rambly post and it somehow vanished! Weeeeeep! I am so cross. I am writing it on my BlackBerry so it was extra effort as well. FFS! If I've got the energy I will try to write some of it again...

Rubena · 03/06/2013 22:49

Lady that's happened so many times to me. I always try to copy it before I post now if its long just incase.

ShadyLadyT · 03/06/2013 22:49

I don't think I have got the energy. Ummmm...will try.

After a rather social Bank Hol weekend I disappeared to Mum's all last week but myself and DD1 had a nasty cough and cold. Went to a new local tourist attraction today called Fairytale Farm then a quick night out in London tonight. I feel a bit unsettled cos I always hate saying bye to Mum, then going to London always makes me so wistful (even though I quite like where I live now)

Rubes, I am surprised your folks are moving as they really seemed to love their home but nice they want to be closer to your brother.

Arti, how are you? I can no longer go to our mutual friend's party on July 27 which saddens me, and I hoped to see you there. It clashes with my nephew's 21st.

Vag, you always sound so hardcore with your training. I am off to Northern Spain for our 4 day break in less than a fortnight - crash diet ensues tomorrow!

I had so much else to say (and indeed did say it) but now my head is throbbing and I need to sign off.

Counsel me about my low libido. I think part of it is I get annoyed with DP over stuff and so don't feel like it and also when I go to bed I just want to be quiet and read. I don't know whose fault it is really...

ShadyLadyT · 03/06/2013 22:55

Oh - other thing of significance is that refinancing has now been applied for - might know one way or the other by the end of the week. Gulp. Feel very tense about it.

Yes Rubes, I agree and usually copy if am on the computer at home. Need to do it on phone, I guess, as well!

I miss everyone. We HAVE to sort out some meet ups. Puhleeeze.

ShadyLadyT · 04/06/2013 12:34

Killed the thread I see Grin

So the mortgage company knocked us back. Major bummer. As that failed application will temporarily make credit scores worse so it will realistically be 3-6 months before we can apply again. I am fuming (and feel a bit let down by our broker).

Ho hum - we all have our health, etc.

Nolda · 04/06/2013 13:04

So sorry to hear that the mortgage company turned your refinancing down Sad, Lady.

I have the surveyor here at the rented house at the moment. Would it be wicked to point out the house's failings so we won't be homeless? Probably ...

Vagolajahooli · 04/06/2013 15:09

Sorry to hear that Lady, the really sucks. Can you get a consolidation loan on the debts you have through your bank. Or is that now no go due to the credit scores. Very annoying re: your broker. Ours was super cautious when we were thinking of remortgaging, which was a bit annoying. But I guess she felt there was no point at the time being. As we are non residents need such a big deposit to remortgage and the house just isn't worth enough right now. Currently doing our tax self assessment for the last three years worth of tax on the derby house sp hopefully that will give us some money back.

Nolda, whenever prospective buyers come set off a tape of squeaking rodent noises in one of the kitchen cupboards.

Rubes if you're worried about the calories in almonds you could always just get the slivered almonds.

ShadyLadyT · 04/06/2013 15:20

Actually DP's score was ok. Mine was below par (despite never having a late or missed payment, and having worked hard to improve my score).

We do have a Plan B and a Plan C but Plan C will take yonks. So I have not given up hope yet. I don't think our broker really finessed our application though. Despute having lots of debt we have lots of equity and other pluses.

We'll see. But it's frustrating when I know we could afford a remortgage and it would make things so much easier and cheaper.

Rubena · 04/06/2013 15:41

How annoying lady. I didn't think you'd have any probs with all the value you've added to the house. Frustrating when you you've worked hard to improve your score.
No what I should be worried about us calories in wine. That's where the added kgs have come from. I used to be fine in my youth Grin am cutting right back until hols
Lovely day. We are in the garden.

DeidreBarlow · 04/06/2013 17:40

Lady sorry that the refinancing didn't work out. Sounds like they've not looked at the bigger picture. Would you use a different broker in a few months time?

Rubes it's defo the Winethat puts the weight on for me.

Well my shred DVD arrived, I was quite impressed. Even had shaky legs by the end! Couldn't do a press up for anything though...Alarm is set for 6.30 tomorrow. I will bore you all over the next 30 days with my progress (or lack off)

TheInvisibleHand · 04/06/2013 22:21

Lady - sorry about the refinancing. That is crap.

Glad you had a nice social time over the weekend though

Big lah lah lah to all the diet and exercise talk. I am a complete fat old knacker with no will power....

Mckayz · 05/06/2013 08:20

LadyT, that is rubbish.

I need another holiday. Loads of the mums at school yesterday were chatting about Cyprus, lanzarote, azore islands or somewhere else warm and sunny.

DS2 decided his bed was too square at 3am. I am shattered as DD has slept well the past few nights.

Artichook · 05/06/2013 10:27

Oh no LadyT that is bad news about the refinancing. Maybe mortgage companies are still being really cautious but its not fair if it would acutally save you money and make managing your debts easier. Its also bad news that you can't come to D's party, I had assumed you would be there and was looking forward to introducing you to DS.

Veg how are your boys today? Are they better? I hope so. Your upcoming holiday sounds so exciting. I am really rather jealous!

So ladies I think LadyT is right, we have to have meet up. ZJ are you coming don to London again any time? If so I think we should try and build around that. Let us know.

All OK here. I got DS weighed yesterday and he is bang on the 50th centile which is so funny after having two girls on the 98th. He looks big to me now but he is still one and a half pounds smaller than DD2 was at birth! I literally recoil in horror at the idea of giving birth to something so much bigger than him!

beans37 · 05/06/2013 17:59

Hello all. Lovely to hear from you, Lady. And, of course, everyone else. I am the size of a house, despite being only 24 weeks. Bugger. Am not comfortable with this bump either. Think it must be a boy!

Lady, I'm so sorry about your refinancing. I'm married to an accountant, so I don't really understand that sort of thing. Have lost all independence. Makes me a bit nervous.

Re your loss of libido, I think it's very common. I used to be fairly active In that department, but have gone downhill somewhat. Would rather read my book. Or sleep. TMI coming up, but I actually am sometimes really keen, but find it easier and less hassle on my own, IYSWIM. God, can't believe I've divulged that, but it's less messy and quick and easy and always gets a result. Tra la la. now in denial I ever said it!

Vagolajahooli · 05/06/2013 21:13

Haaaahahahaaa Beans you are hilarious, feel quite honoured that you are comfortable sharing that. You know fellas love watching that sort of thing. Maybe let DH watch then everyone is happy.

Is that a step too far.

Oh & also Beans if it was a boy you would be...erm...wanting to 'she bop' quite often. I was a lot more up for the messy version or anything when preggers.

Vagolajahooli · 05/06/2013 21:16

I think my battery is about to go but I wrote a message earlier today but it disappeared. Will try to remember what I said and add once the battery on this phone is charged.

Super sunny and hot today. Had a lovely arvo at the beach with ds2, ds1 was at a birthday party. Both boys better, though ds2 still a bit peeky.

Mckayz · 05/06/2013 22:28

Vag, I was the opposite. I hated sex with the boys but couldn't get enough with DD.

Vagolajahooli · 05/06/2013 23:19

Kayz that post sounds a little bit wrong grin

Vagolajahooli · 05/06/2013 23:20

Shit that should have been (grin)
