OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
beans37 · 28/05/2013 22:02

Oh Vag, sure they won't separate a family like that! Especially one as little as DS2. Wouldn't be fun to whoever he was next to either.hope you feel better soon.

I have forgotten everything about being pregnant.

Vagolajahooli · 28/05/2013 22:19

DH and I did joke that it might be quite nice for me, but in reality I'd be a little worried about my little mate. I remember on the flight from LA a big hen group were sat all over the place and the flight attendants moved hell and high water to get them all sat as close as possible if not right next to each other, and as an apology for them originally being spread out they gave them all a glass of champers.

sorry to hear you lurgyfied too Jam.

DeidreBarlow · 29/05/2013 17:08

Jam how's snotsville today?

Vag, the flight seating would stress me out. But like others have said I'm sure they'll sort it out at the gate.

Beans the castle in Czech Republic sounds amazing!

Arti how you coping with 3?

Just back from a lovely 4 days camping in Anglesey. Need to do a proper catch up but just popping in to say hi.

Hope your all having a lovely half term break x

Vagolajahooli · 30/05/2013 10:49

Very quiet here this week, are you all on half term. Having a nice day here have managed to tidy up have a cuppa and do my Chemist Direct online shop. Feeling loads better but not quite up for a run. I need to get out & get a new pair of jeans as both mine have bott bott tears (the drawback of cycling a lot in jeans). There is a fashion outlet shop at the harbour so going to pop over there soon (well after homes under the hammer). Quite nice to be free with no study to do, though miss it a bit.

I got a lovely email back from Singapore Airlines assuring me they would look into the seating and get us some seats together. They also said that online check in starts 48 hrs ahead so I can go on and sort it then too. Super helpful have been really pleased, made me feel reassured.

Jam, how you feeling?

DB how was ds on camping trip? You were with other kids? Did you see any of the behaviour that nursery goes on about?

Beans we need some more info on the punch up?

Nolda · 30/05/2013 11:30

Vag, glad to hear that you're feeling better and that the seating thing can be sorted.

I hope you're feeling better today too, Jam.

We are on half term. DD is busy crafting and DS is playing with playmobil.

We are still house hunting. The house that we are renting is under offer and the survey is being done next week. After that we may well be given 2 months' notice to get out Shock. Our sale of our old flat went a bit rocky last week but hopefully we will exchange tomorrow or early next week. We saw a lovely house yesterday and there is one other property we are trying to view. Exciting times.

Beans, your trip sounds fun. There was almost a punch-up at our wedding. Fortunately, I was busy at another part of the venue and missed it all and was blissfully unaware until afterwards.

DeidreBarlow · 30/05/2013 13:15

Ahh vag thanks for asking. I can confirm DS was quite the social butterfly and played beautifully with lots of children. In fact it was pretty rainy one morning and we found an indoor play centre. Anyway one little boy (similar sage to ds)in there rooms dislike to DS, throwing balls at him, pulling his t shirt, thumping him. DS did nothing. Nada. I heard him say 'go away' and then he came and told me a boy was 'following me and annoying me'. Nursery can stick it up their arse!!!

In fact just before half term I wrote to the Nursery manager and copied in the schools HT ahead of this meeting. I got all mother lion and pointed out several flaws with pre school that I think make DS act up. Got a very polite email back saying the meeting is very informal and meant to ease DS transition from nursery to school. We shall see and I will keep you all postedGrin

Vag glad you got reassurance on the flights

Mckayz · 30/05/2013 13:22

Half term here.

We popped to the library today and they were doing some quiz and the boys had their picture taken for the local paper.

I am currently setting up a little jewellery business. Not planning on making any money doing it but I enjoy it.

Rubena · 30/05/2013 23:32

Vag glad you got reassurance from the airline. There's no way they'd let you sit all apart. At worst it's be one parent with each but unlikely they'd not be able to sort you all our together. Most people don't realise that generally (on long haul flights) those seat requests (the free ones) are just requests and although they look like they are solid, there's fine print somewhere that usually explains its just a request and at check in things can change which is why it pays to check in early. On short haul where they charge you practically for everything other than the base ticket price it's a different story (I hope, since we paid for a window seat for ds on the way to Spain in a desperate attempt to not get the holiday off on the wrong foot! Hmm
I think we are headed off the sane week as you in mid July!
Beans glad the trip was nice, Crikey what an action packed pregnancy you are living! A pro now I guess! Hope Chilli is feeling better.
Nolda exciting times. Hope you find the perfect place.
Deids. Glad you enjoyed the camping and glad to hear ds going great. Tell nursery to shove it up their clacker!
Have had sickies here. First ds now dd with croup and awful flu. thought she was better and just having issues and grumpy playing with 2 boys yesterday who were shutting her out, but tonight she is crying with sore ear. Poor thing was crying in bedroom floor holding her ear and said she was "bery bery ill" and "hurty ear" ibuprofen done the trick for now but I bet anything ill be up at 2 [sigh]

beans37 · 31/05/2013 06:57

How was your night Pubes?

Had SIL staying night before last and her son and DD1 were sharing. I was up at 5 with them. Grrrrr. Exhausted yesterday. Then this morning, DH set his alarm at 5.55am to cycle into work for training. He leaves it dinging for ages, til I tell him to turn it off, then snoozes it twice more. Just to make sure I'm awake. Then when I get cross, he says "god, you are grumpy in the morning, aren't you?'. Seriously. I am knackered!

The punch up wasn't that exciting as between two people I don't know and I'd gone to bed, but it was two brothers and one broke the other's nose and gave him two black eyes!

beans37 · 31/05/2013 07:11

PS and the girls are both asleep past 7am for the first time in I don't know how long!!

JamInMyWellies · 31/05/2013 08:14

Beans I am with you on the sleep thing. Was knackered went to bed early last night texted DH (out for thirty thursday) I am off to bed see you in the am. An hr and half later he phoned to say he couldn't find his keys so I then stay up to find he did find his keys. Then the bugger snored all night then DS2 came in to us at 3am and I didn't get back to sleep until 5 when the alarm went off at 5.30 Dh did the exact same ting as your DH and kept hitting snooze.

Happy Friday!

JamInMyWellies · 31/05/2013 08:17

Poor DD Rubes. How is she this morning?

Rubena · 31/05/2013 08:54

She's seems perkier thanks all. Slept until 8! No ear mention this morn.
She's had this spot on her cheek which keeps scabbing over then she picks it to death. Am at wits end. Have tried everything. Currently using spray plaster to try healing it quick. Any suggestions? Hoping it won't scar Hmm
Sorry about those w lack of sleep. I hate snooze on alarms. Dh notorious for that. I go mental. Can't imagine if I was preggo as well!

beans37 · 31/05/2013 09:35

Oh glad she's feeling better, Rubes. What a relief.

Jam, we are feeling eachother's pain. How many weeks are you now? Is all ok? How are you feeling? You're in the really horrid stage of exhaustion, too.

Arti, how are you doing? Are you ok? Hanging in there?

Where is Lady? Is she ok? Where are you?

Sybs, how is your holiday going? Gagging to hear from you!

xx

Vagolajahooli · 31/05/2013 16:02

Hi there ladies, sorry to hear about annoying alarm issues, that would drive me mad. DH isn't too bad but he often sets reminders on his work phone for meetings at work. If it is a morning meeting he sets the alarm to remind him sometimes several hours before. He then leaves his phone in the kitchen over night. The result is a rude awakening when the alarm goes off at 6am for a 9am meeting!!!!

Rubes I'm flying alone with the boys so I'm pretty garanteed they will sort it I guess. We leave on the 17th. Where are you flying out of? I'm so happy I got Singapore Airlines not only do I like flying with them, but I get frequent flyer points through the virgin Atlantic FF card. Woot woot. I love when a plan comes together. The only negative for the trip is school won't approve the days, so we will probably have to pay the fine but hey ho, it's still cheaper than the difference in the Thursday flight to the friday or Saturday flight.

I sympathise with dds hurty ears Rubes, my lurgy is settling but I still have very hurty ears as I think I have an ear infection. I'm hoping it will resolve by itself, mainlining neurofen to help the pain. We are out with friends tonight and tomorrow night

Vagolajahooli · 31/05/2013 16:05

Oops MN decided I'd said enough & posted for me. Was just going to say we are out for drinks the next couple of nights so want the pain to go away.

We got the boys school photos back today, way too cute.

We finally have spring weather, fingers crossed it lasts.Tonight is dinner atvat the beach so would really appreciate a nice sunset.

Rubena · 01/06/2013 13:57

Ah ok Vag. Yes they will DEF sort your seats! Gosh even in standby which we've done loads on Singapore, they do and we are t suppose to ask for anything on standby, but with lil ones, they have to.
We fly the 14th but its Spain not Aus.
Great news my pares have decided to move near my brother. Bloody miracle. But so overdue. Cannot wait as it'll be do much easier to see them all more. Just hope they can sell soon.
Weather seems to be shaping up. Perhaps a BBQ when dh gets home from work.
Ds swam about 2m unaided at his lesson today so feeling much better about holiday with many swimming pools involved. Now just need a floatsuit for the fearless little sister who isn't there yet. Grin

Rubena · 01/06/2013 16:22

That meant to read "we aren't suppose to as for anything when traveling on standby"
am knackered. gardening and loading loads of full wheelie bins then trekking them upstairs......
right, have been talked into building yet another mahoosive train track.
dd has taken to dancing to Pink. Not sure alll the lyrics are entirely acceptable for her age group. DS now asking what the words say Hmm
so tired due to night wakings. dd woke 2 nights ago as she "couldn't find baby" (baby was suffocating under duvet), then last night at 3am "Polly Pockets head is not on" and after 3 second reattachment all was well but doesn't help as once I'm awake that's it! Sadly dh will be ten fold as he got woken at the same time. Oy vey

Rubena · 01/06/2013 16:24

oh crikey bloody auto correct.... no! it actually meant to read "we aren't suppose to ASK for anything on standby" Struth, over an out!

Rubena · 01/06/2013 16:25

and out AND!!!!

DeidreBarlow · 01/06/2013 17:02

I hear you all on night time wakings! DD is a mare at the moment. She wakes and is too hot/cold/hungry/thirsty/needs wee/needs poo/duvet is messed up arghh! She does it every night and like you say I can never get back to sleep. She's almost 7 FFSShock

I have ordered the 30 day shred to get bikini ready...I'm slightly scared! I intend to get up half hour early every day to do it. I did used to run but have totally lost interest, really bored and fed up with it. Sybs was it you that did it? Hope it works I need to tone my wobbly bits (pretty much top to toe Grin)

Rubena · 01/06/2013 18:37

Deids what time does 30 min earlier involve? Trying to draw inspiration from you. I need to exercise in the morning and I'm not a morning person. Perhaps you can text me and insist I get up Grin mine would involve taking the dog out. I bought Josies 30 second slim and probably did it 3 times properly as well as a couple of times with kids insisting they are involved also. Disastrous.

DeidreBarlow · 01/06/2013 19:14

I reckon about 6.30/7 ish should do it. A couple of friends said its really good but also quite intense...tbh 30 mins is about all I can manage. I'm hoping I get abs like Jillian...Grin

Rubena · 01/06/2013 20:23

Yeah see that's almost humane Hmm
Dh out the door at 7 most mornings. Gonna try this week. 630. Shock watch that not unfold....

Mckayz · 01/06/2013 20:33

I gave the shred dvd to my Mum Grin

If the baby would go to bed in the evening I might have time to exercise.
