Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
McKayz · 22/05/2013 06:20

Vag, MIL is wonderful. She never critisises at all. Just has to listen to SIL moaning. Just wish she lived nearby as both her and FIL are wonderful.

McKayz · 22/05/2013 06:40

Oh and DD slept from 7 until 130 with a dreamfeed at 10ish. Then until 4 and then 6 when DS2 woke us up.

DS1 has gotten up in a mood and is really trying my patience.

Asparagui · 22/05/2013 10:10

That sounds an okay ish might Kayz. And I agree with Sybs that you are a star for coping so well with long absences of your DH. I cry if mine goes away for a couple of nights.

We took the side off DS's cot yesterday and pushed the open side right up to the bed. He slept happily in the cot from 10-3 and then had a quick feed and happily returned to the cot from 3-7! Yay! I didn't sleep well though as he is such a loud sleeper: grunting, mewing, snuffling, farting... I'm not sure I can room share for six months with that.

beans37 · 22/05/2013 18:36

(Arti, I only managed 2 nights with DD1 and only 2weeks with DD2 & that was only because my Mum was staying in her room!)

beans37 · 22/05/2013 19:23

Have have just left the girls with Mum til Monday. I keep thinking I can hear them upstairs. Honestly, I am so excited about a few days away, but I miss them! What on earth did I do before they came along??

Vagolajahooli · 22/05/2013 22:20

Wasn't it JJ who was all up for co-sleeping her dd2 but she felt like she was sleeping in a farmyard or was that you Beans. My boys were pretty quiet but crikey I could quite happily not co-sleep with dh sometimes, he is a noisy sleeper.

I made slow cooker self saucing pudding tonight so naughty but so yum. Rubes I think I will be joining you in extreme measures. Are you cabbage souping it then?

will send your dd sleepy vibes kayz.

McKayz · 23/05/2013 10:19

Last night wasn't quite as good. She has a bit of a cold and a blocked nose. I was awake for about 2 hours though as I couldn't get back to sleep. DH was snoring and so was DD.

McKayz · 23/05/2013 15:57

DS1 has been kneed in the mouth today. His tooth is all wonky. Fuming.

Asparagui · 23/05/2013 19:14

Oh no Kayz. Was it an accident or a fight?

All OK here, DS is still just gorgeous, I know you don't want to hear this Veg but newborns are just delicious, I'd forgotten how even their facial expressions can keep you amused for hours. DH starts his paternity leave today, heaven, two whole weeks as a family of five.

I hope you have a fab weekend Beans.

McKayz · 23/05/2013 20:11

Neither really. DS1 didn't want to play with the boy so he decided to knee him in the mouth. His tooth is just hanging there so he could hardly eat.

Vagolajahooli · 23/05/2013 20:44

Omg Kayz that is terrible, poor DS1 did the school call you when it happened. Is he ok?

McKayz · 23/05/2013 21:08

No they didn't call as it happened about 10 minutes before the end of school. He's not too bad. His tooth hurts I think. It's been wobbly for ages but it is clinging on. Good thing really. I've got no change for tooth fairy.

He's been told he shouldn't play with the boy that did it as they tend to start beig stupid. So he shouldn't have tried to join in with the game but still shouldn't have been kneed in the mouth.

His teacher said he had been very good today so that's nice.

McKayz · 23/05/2013 21:10

I've just made no sense following my earlier post. DS1 shouldn't play with that boy but went over to see what they were playing. He then went to leave as he realised he shouldn't be there. That's when he got kneed.

Rubena · 24/05/2013 17:20

Sorry to hear about ds Kayz. I hope the other child was dealt with accordingly.
Vag, no I can't be doing the soup in, ahem, Spring/Summer - what a joke huh since its like late Autumn here today. It's no carbs for me, but I was mainly referring to cutting down on the Wine until our hols. I haven't been doing so well as of yet Blush
Arti, so glad the little fella doing well and dh is off now. Well deserved fam time.
I must say, I don't envy all this talk of little one's and the sleepless nights though.
Just collected ds from nursery via bus. Had planned to bike trailer it, as dh has been to get bak some fitness Hmm but huge downpour when contemplating hooking up bike to it. I'm so crap at public transport. DD announced to the whole bus (as we went past) "that's the dry cleaner that mummy crashed the car into" (not quite) Don't know how you lot who don't drive do it with small people. Hats off. I really miss my car, and promise to never take it for granted again Smile
My eBay listings going mental though, so quite pleased have almost raised half the car costs. Pleased.

McKayz · 24/05/2013 20:28

He was Rubes. His mum is lovely and is really at her wits end with him. The head teacher is ringing her almost everyday about something he's done.

DS1's tooth is still just hanging there. It's grim.

Vagolajahooli · 25/05/2013 08:19

LIfe is defintely a lot easier with a car Rubes. don't get me wrong I love being able to cycle everywhere but it still takes more time and forward planning. Wednesday is a bit of a nightmare now as ds2 has swimming now from 2.45 to 3.30pm and ds1 has basketball from 3.30 to 4.30. the pool and basketball courts are about 253mins fast ride away from each other and part of the ride is through the only hilly area in the hague. luckily the bball is very casual and they can turn up when they want and usually run way over time. so its not a problem him getting there at 4 but its a rush that would be easier with a car. but then I guess I'd be stuck in traffic and whining about not finding a park.

argh I can't type on this bloody tablet it keeps refusing to add capitals and is deleting whole words for no apparent reason. will write more later. my phone seems to have died, too much of the boys playing angry birds I think.life is definitely a lot easier with a

Rubena · 25/05/2013 12:31

253 mins Crikey that's a long fast ride!Grin
Have 10 passes to the gym so went an hour earlier than ds's swimming lesson today and did some Laps. Have just realised the importance of goggles. May have to invest in a pair. My eyes look like acid has been thrown in them. All chlorine to fight the kiddies piddle. Then got chatted up by a 50 year old in the steam room. Aah I've still got it Hmm. I even ran to the gym. I won't tell you how far it isGrin
I see the situ vag. But annoying that timing but you're right about traffic and parking. The amount of times I've pissed and moaned about being late and then not finding parking.
I ended up selling my buggy for £210!! Cleaned up nice and forgot I had all the bells and whistles for it. And our travel cot for 97. Pleased.
Looks like weather finally being sensible.
Must get out there.

McKayz · 27/05/2013 16:43

Hellllllooooooooooooooooooooo?????????

Anyone there?

Grin
sybilfaulty · 27/05/2013 17:29

I'm here Kayz. Am on holiday on Isle of Wight and had 3 sunny beach days. Kids have been in sea, on bouncy castle and waking miles on promise of an ice cream at the end. We are also glued to BGT in evening as kids love it. So late beds and even a wee lie in. T got up at 7 today and m not til 8.45 ! Given their normal get up time is between 5 and 6 this is progress.

Hope everyone enjoying the bank hol xxx.

McKayz · 27/05/2013 17:32

Sounds lovely Sybs.

XH unexpectedly asked if he could have the boys tonight and tomorrow night so have found myself with too much free time and a baby that seems to want to sit on me at all times. I guess she's probably confused by DH going.

I am hoping it stays nice tomorrow so I can go out for a walk.

Hope everyone else is having a nice time.

Asparagui · 27/05/2013 20:23

Gosh Sybs I didn't know you are usually woken so early. You are so stoical, I never see you complain, is be ranting daily if that were me. Anyway, fab that you are having a good holiday.

Sorry to hear your DD is unsettled Kayz. Also sorry that your DH has gone again. Not long til the summer hols!

beans37 · 28/05/2013 08:58

Hi everyone! Back from the Czech Republic. What a cool place. Had no Internet for 5 days, which was actually rather wonderful! Gorgeous wedding, with all sorts of gossip, including a punch up. Classy. We stayed In The top of a turret in an amazing castle. No curtains, which was odd, but we had a lovely sleeping time. I find eyelids make amazing mini curtains. Missed the girls terribly, but means I'm v happy to see them for half term!

Sybs, glad you're having a lovely time. And the sleeping sounds great! Pheweeee.

Pissing with rain here today. Gutted. Weather in Czech Republic was below average too, so think its followed us home!

Oh and the dog isn't eating. Poor thing. She was apparently v sick and now won't eat her food. Not sure whether to take her to the vet or not. Hmmm. Will see if she's still not eating tomorrow.

Kayz, how's DS's tooth now?

Mckayz · 28/05/2013 10:59

That sounds lovely Beans. Apart from the punch up maybe.

DS1's tooth finally came out on Saturday while we were in Ikea. He said the other top front tooth felt a bit wobbly so maybe he will have a big gap soon.

I hope your dog is better soon. We had ours at the vets for something similar the other week.

Vagolajahooli · 28/05/2013 21:52

hi ladies. feeling quite crap with a lurgy here so not much getting online as crapola. luckily DH could work from home today so i was able to take it easy as he did the school run.

Rubes I've no idea how I managed to sneak an extra number 3 in there, 253mins would get me nearly to amsterdam I think.

The wedding sounded lovely Beans, but I think we need more details on the punch up. Is the hound any better.

Kayz how is ds1's tooth now?

Sybs how is the Island? more sleep ins I hope. you must be constantly shattered. I can highly recommend teaching the kids to sort out their own breakfast for weekend sleep in time.

DH's pay issues seem to be finally settling down and I have booked our flights home in July/August. The flights from here weren't much chop and required two long stop overs each way. So instead i am flying out of heathrow with Singapore airlines as even with paying separately for the flights from here to London, it is about the same price as the crappy flights from here (quite excited as I get frequent flyers with them). Also exciting is on two legs of the trip we fly on an A380 which has been a dream of DS1's for a long time. Unfortunately though, I just looked at the seating details for the flights to and from singapore and they currently have us in three seats that are miles from each other and there was not much else available. On the flight from London DS1 & I are at least in the same row but about 5 seats away but poor little ds2 is several rows back and across from me. I assume these seats are not final and when we check in it will be sorted. We have to book flights over to meet the singapore airlines flight so I'll just make sure I book a flight that gets us there in plenty of time.

JamInMyWellies · 28/05/2013 22:01

Vag they will sort it at the gate. When we went away at Easter they had the four if us spread out all over the plane. When we checked in they said they couldn't sort it there but at the gate they would swap people around.

I too am full of lurgy snot city!

Beans we needier info on the punch up.

Arti how's the family of 5 getting on? Grin
