Thought we should get a new thread before the night shift Wink

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It's so lovely when you find something they enjoy - love their grubby gummy faces! I'm a bit scared of what the big 2 are going to try popping in her mouth when our time comes - I did catch dd2s baked bean laden spoon heading towards her mouth the other day.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 28/04/2013 23:06

I've not caught up but need a chat. DP has really really upset me today. It was J's christening and he got wankered. Utterly wasted and fucked off to bed immediately after it.

What should have been a lovely day has been marred by him being annoying and drunk and just buggering off and leaving me to deal with everything alone.

I'm cycling between wanting to cry and wanting to punch him in his sleep. He's a selfish twat!

halestone · 28/04/2013 23:25

Willyou i vote put J in your bed for a couple of minutes then punch DP in the head an blame J. That way you feel better and no argument. In all seriousness though i'm sorry your upset, and that your day feels ruined. Sometimes men just don't get it an maybe one day you will look back and remember J's christening when DP was hammered ThanksWine also Happy Christening day J

WillYouDoTheFandango · 28/04/2013 23:38

He's passed out in the spare bed Hales so at least o don't have to deal with him in here. I don't think he'd wake if I punched him, J's just full scale screamed for a bottle and he didn't even stir.

It's been a nice day too, he just didn't eat all day and clearly didn't know when to stop.

In bed with baby cuddles now, there's nothing they can't solve!

halestone · 29/04/2013 04:30

If it helps he'll probably really regret it when he wakes up.

H has just slept for 4:15 minutes i'm so happy. This milk seems to have made a huge huge difference GrinGrinGrin

SkiBunnnnny · 29/04/2013 05:09

I'm sorry you feel like he spoiled the day WillYou. Maybe try and focus on some lovely memories of the day with other family and friends etc.? Then kick him up the arse in the morning and leave him to it while you have some pampering time to unwind.

Thank you Nutella. This all pretty much kicked the shit out of me but I had a little cry today and now feel better and am refusing to feel sorry for myself any more.

SkiBunnnnny · 29/04/2013 05:16

Aww nuts, posting weird

FriendofDorothy · 29/04/2013 05:20

Gah. I have such a fussy whingy baby at the moment. It is driving mr nuts!

Sleepy but too tired to sleep. Wanting to feed a lot and generally grumpy. I want my sunny boy back!

Does anyone who has the Wonder Weeks book know if this is typical?

FriendofDorothy · 29/04/2013 10:16

No more messages?

SpottyTeacakes · 29/04/2013 10:38

I just had the dentist and I cried Sad I've had two babies fgs but the dentist makes me shake and cry

halestone · 29/04/2013 11:00

Fod i havn't got the wonder weeks book, how many weeks is your DS now? H has always fought her sleep and seemed unsettled till this wee the last 2 days she has slept well of a night (only 2 wake ups of a night) but i'm not sure of its developmental or down to me changing her milk.

Aww spotty hope your ok, if the dentist is your phobia it must be horrible to have to go.

The thread does seem quiet at the moment but i'm taking it as a positive sign, we must all be starting to sort out bits of routines. Or getting out the weather has changed slightly

HoneyMumandSon · 29/04/2013 12:21

Apologies ladies I've been AWOL for a few days. Trying to catch up on the thread now.

HoneyMumandSon · 29/04/2013 12:22

How many weeks is he FoD? I've got wonder weeks book :)

SpottyTeacakes · 29/04/2013 12:29

I've got to have a root canal- three more appointments Shock I'm not sure how I'm going to manage it Confused

MaMaPo · 29/04/2013 13:12

Oh spotty. I am like you, real dental phobia, only solved by wonderful dentist with gas and air!

Havne't been round much. A good night last night - df at 10.30pm, feed at 3.30am and up for the day at 7.15am. She woke up singing! A nap at 8.30am, and down again at about 11am and she has been asleep since then! I have never known her to nap so well - she is self-settling in the cot with a bit of shush patting (won't really fall asleep in my arms any more) and her naps are steadily increasing in length. Could this be the other side of sleep regression? She's 21 weeks on Wednesday.

Had to do the df last night as I managed to put the stuff on to sterilise in the microwave on Saturday - and didn't put in any water! Burnt a hole right through the box. Luckily didn't damage breast pump bits or bottles. Stupid me!

Thinking more about my trip home to Australia with baby C - we leave on Wednesday week! It is coming around soon. I will have so much to take, it seems! Luckily we have 40kg of allowance.

Hales so pleased things continue to improve for you!

WLmum · 29/04/2013 14:25

Wow hales that must be such a relief, you've really hard a hard time iof it and still managed to stay sane and have a smiley baby! Bless her little belly. Long may it continue.

willyou that's shocking behaviour and I would super upset too. DH had some making up to do.

Poor spotty that's no fun. Plan a big reward for being a big brave girl!

SkiBunnnnny · 29/04/2013 15:12

Aw dear spotty, sort to hear about your dentist issues.

Yay for such a good sleep mama, hopefully it is that start of things to follow.

We are home and had a fairly good nights sleep to recover. Now I just need to figure out how I'm going to get LO to his vaccinations tomorrow and doctors appointment on Friday since I can't drive on these meds...

FriendofDorothy · 29/04/2013 17:52

He is 19 weeks.

itsMYNutella · 29/04/2013 19:10

hales that is fantastic news! So glad to hear H is doing better - and that you get more sleep must be eligible in Internet lingo for an EPIC WIN Grin

Willyou congratulations on the christening! I like the idea of a day out for you and a hangover + screaming baby for your OH.

Ski I hope that you keep feeling better and being home will probably also help you feel much better. Is there anyone that can help you get I Dr's? Or could you take taxis? Hmm

I'm so excited, we now have a full stock of washable nappies for DS. I know I'm probably bonkers but I can't wait to try them out properly. We have lots of disposable nappies too though so I will use some more of them up first & then make the big switch (I will be keeping a stock of a few emergency/travelling nappies though).

WLmum · 29/04/2013 19:41

Hooray nutella welcome to the cloth side! I love using washables but do use disposables at night and now and then in the day if I know changing will be tricky. I am a sad individual and love it that some of the nappies are on their third bum!

PurplePidjin · 29/04/2013 20:04

Welcome to the fluff side, Nutella, we've been in ft cloth since his cord fell off on day 5 :o

halestone · 29/04/2013 20:26

Yay to the cloth nappies Nutella.

Ski i know your DP's boss is a nightmare but is there any chance that your DP could get an hour off to take you and make it up another time?

halestone · 29/04/2013 20:27

Stacks · 29/04/2013 20:39

Evening all. I've been sleeping all the hours DS let's me get away with, and it's still not enough. He's also become really shouty and grumpy like your LO fod and is 18w tomorrow (20w from due date). It's given me a week of stress and tearfulness and anger as it's so relentless. Nothing seems to distract him for long. Even boob fails :( I really hope it is developmental and passes soon.
Glad you're home ski good luck getting to the docs, and I hope they can sort you out with some better meds.
hales great to hear you're getting better sleep. I'm just about to start on 2 weeks if dairy free to see of it helps T with his reflux and sleeping. We also got a referral to peads for it do fingers crossed. He hates the gaviscon and just will not swallow it at all :(
nutella what cloth did you buy? I really like being a cloth user - the HV at the weighing clinic even asked me for some recommendations for nappy brands/websites the other day :)
